ROTHENSEE, Klemens O. "Klem" In loving memory of Klemens O. "Klem" Rothensee, 75 years of Sudbury who passed away Sunday, October 16th, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. Klemens was born May 10, 1930 in Neustadt, Germany. He arrived in Ottawa in 1952 & moved to Sudbury in April 1953. Klem (or "Four Corners" as his co-workers new him) enjoyed a career of 37 years starting in Garson as a Jack-Leg Miner, moving to various locations as Heavy Equipment Operator, Trainer, and ending as Hoistman at South Mine in September 1991. Active in the early years with the Steelworkers Union as well as Safety and Health. Klem was proclaimed "The Mayor of Wembley Dr." by his neighbors. You could always count on Klem for advice & direction, from gardening to home repairs. Klemens loved a good game of skat and enjoyed countless hours of watching hockey and wrestling. He had a real knack for cooking & passed that knowledge onto family & friends. You could always come home to a great bowl of Oppa's soup. He loved to eat & he loved to cook. His greatest joy was having his grandchildren around him. Beloved husband of Irma (Roster) Rothensee of Sudbury. Loving father of Dieter (wife Maria) and Monika (husband Gilles Beaulieu) both of Sudbury, Klaus (wife Terri) of Newmarket and Claudia (husband John Nixon) of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Adam, Justin, Erik, Alexis, Shania and Dayna. Dear son of Josef and Theresia Rothensee predeceased. Lawrence Louis ""Larry'' Dauterive, Jr., died October 12th, 2005 of a heart attack in Tampa, Florida where he evacuated to from Hurricane Katrine. Age 67 years old. Beloved husband of Patricia Riley Dauterive. Father of Lawrence J. and Paul Dauterive and Donna Dauterive Johnston. Grandfather of Lauren and Katie Dauterive and Erin Streit. Son of the late Lawrence L. Dauterive, Sr. and Jeanne Andignac Dauterive. Brother of Daniel J., Robert A. and Donald J. Dauterive. Also survived by nieces and nephews. A native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Chalmette, LA.Services were held in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, October 15th, 2005. Sylvio A. Gagnon, 88, of Maurice St., Nashua died Friday October 14, 2005 at the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene. Mr. Gagnon was born in Nashua on December 10, 1916, a son of the late Joseph & Elmeria (Petrain) Gagnon. He was the widower of Rep. Gabrielle (Boilard) Gagnon who died November 18, 1991. Mr. Gagnon was a lifelong resident of Nashua spending his winters in Hallandale, Florida. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Gagnon had been employed by New England Telephone. Recently Mr. Gagnon retired form the Gulfstream Racetrack and the Hialeah Racetrack in Florida. He had also been employed by Rockingham Racetrack, and the Revere Dogtrack. Mr. Gagnon was a member of the Nashua Lodge of Elks, American Legion James E. Coffee Post #3, the Jockey Club at Rockingham and a Telephone Pioneer. Mr. Gagnon was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a former Ward 5 Alderman and moderator. He was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church. Mr. Gagnon was predeceased by 10 siblings. Mr. Gagnon is survived by; Two daughters & sons-in-law; Sylvia & David Kapsack of Las Vegas, NV and Beverly & Robert Murray of Stoddard, NH; Five grandchildren; Atty. PLAINFIELD - Robert A. Couture, 64 of 144 Dow Rd. beloved husband of Linda (Bloom) Couture died Sunday at the W.W. Backus Hospital, Norwich.He was born August 13, 1941 in Sterling, a son of the late Arthur and Mary Jane (Fournier) Couture and had been a lifelong resident of Plainfield. Mr. Couture was a graduate of Putnam Technical School. He had been employed by the former Pervel Industries for many years and was last employed by Intermark Fabric Corp, retiring several months ago. Mr Couture was a lifelong member of the Plainfield Fire Dept, and had served as a driver with the Plainfield Ambulance Corp for 18 years. He was a former member of the Danielson Lodge of Elks.Besides his wife he leaves a son and daughterin -law, Glenn and Dionne Couture of Ansonia; a daughter and son -in -law TerriLynn and Richard Bernat of Griswold; two brothers Roger Couture of Oneco and Ronald Couture of Plainfield; one sister Annette Moffitt of Plainfield. He also leaves his brothers -in -law and sisters - inlaw, Ronald and Mary Jane Lusser, Theodore and Joan Verba, all of Plainfield and George and Joan Bloom of New Hampshire. Also several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. John the Apostle Church Plainfield. Burial will be private. VARJASSY-REGIMBAL, Ilona Born Ilona Toth on June 4, 1929 in Nagy Gencs, Hungary. Passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 14, 2005 with her beloved Pepper by her side. Daughter of the late Janos Toth and Ilona Iker. After graduating from the University of Budapest, Ilona arrived in Moncton, N.B. in 1957, where she quickly learned English to continue her love of being a journalist. She was proud to be the first camera woman in Canada hired by CKCW TV in Moncton. She later moved to CJOH and eventually joined the Public Service, working for the Centenary Commission and later as assistant to the Minister of Multiculturalism and several other departments. Ilona was particularly interested in underprivileged children, the disabled and world suffering. She worked tirelessly to make the world a better place. Ilona is survived by the Toth family and childhood friend Marta Kravianszki of Hungary, the Regimbal, Goguen and Panek families and her many friends from Hungary and across Canada. Unfortunately, Frontal Lobe Dementia prevented her from fully enjoying her many friends in her later years. Special thanks to Mr. Gauthier, Melinda, Zsuzsa, Susana, Anna and the other dedicated helpers that made her life comfortable in the end. A Celebration of Ilona's life will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum with military honors conducted by V.F.W. Visitation will resume Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Castille died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005 (a day before his 84th birthday), at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.Born October 18, 1921, Mr. Castille was the son of George J. Castille Sr. and Elmire Tauzin Castille, both of Breaux Bridge. As a young man, George went to work with Arthur A. Castille Inc. before joining the Navy during World War II. Upon completion of his military tour, Mr. Castille returned to his work, and retired with more than 40 years of service.Mr. Castille donated his time to the Boy Scouts of America (20 years) as a Cub Master of Pack 466, and Troop Committeeman and Assistant Scout Master of Troop 133 then as Cub Master of Pack 369. He remained busy during his retirement, serving as an Usher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and staying involved with V.F.W. Post 1982 as a lifetime member (where he served as past Chaplain and was Captain of the Honor Guard). Mr. Castille was also a member of the PBY Catalina International Association (the plane he flew on as a gunner during the war). Other hobbies included beekeeping and travel.Beyond all of his interests and hobbies, Mr. George was first a husband, father, grand and great grandfather and brother. His kind and unselfish way will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amelia Thornton Castille of New Iberia; nine children, Guy P. Toni was born on August 16, 1909 and raised in Letellier, MB. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Babe) in June 1977, her brother Ferdinand in 1910 and her sisters Denise in 1936 and Victoria in 1997. Mom was a devoted wife and mother. She took great pride in her family and was always willing to lend a hand and never expected anything in return. She was always very appreciative of anything she received and displayed everything with great pride. Mom could always see the brighter side to any dilemma and was always there with words of encouragement. She loved hockey and was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s biggest fan. Toni will be cherished and lovingly remembered by her sister Madeleine Morin, Port Dover, ON; her five children, Roland (Ruth), Denise (Jack), Claire (Wayne), Claude (Marguerite), Terry (Ash); her nine grandchildren, Raymond (Lisa), Rick (Barb), Gisele (Mike), Dinah, David (Lori), Brenda (Al), Catherine (Brent), Jennifer (Andrew), Nicole (Tyler) and her eleven great-grandchildren. Waltham – Mrs. Florence M. (Venuti) Cormier of Waltham died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Meadow Green Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 87.Born in Watertown, a daughter of the late Thomas and Loretta (Hines) Venuti, she had lived in Waltham for most of her life and in Belmont for fifteen years. She had been an active member of Saint Charles Parish in Waltham and had been a ‘Meals on Wheels’ volunteer at Maristhill Nursing home in Waltham. The wife of the late Joseph S. Cormier, she leaves her children and their spouses, Elizabeth and Peter Charbonneau of Royalston, Mary-Anne and Butch Bennett of Belmont, Arthur and Sally Cormier, Lorraine and Frederick Dowcett, Joan and Tim Utley, Linda and James Trainor, Laura and Wayne Flaherty, Ann and Robert Foucher, all of Waltham, Patricia Donahue and her companion Rich Fura, and Jerome and Nicole Cormier, all of Attleboro; her sisters and brothers, Larayne Valente of Royalston, Thomas Venuti of Wakefield, Marie Maguire, Kay Pantenella and Colin Venuti all of Florida. She was the grandmother of 35 and great-grandmother of 26. Paul William Tourigny, U.S. Army (retired), of Sutherland, Va., passed away Monday, Oct. 17, after a long battle with cancer.Formerly of Lewiston, he was the son of the late Conrad W. And Carmen Perreault Tourigny. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School and a ROTC graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., receiving commission in U.S.A. Signal Corps.He served in the U.S. Army in various military capacities, including 12 years in overseas duty and service in Vietnam, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.He was a world traveler and adventurer, who enjoyed long-distance backpacking and hiking, and belonged to numerous hiking organizations. In addition, he was a member of the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, life member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, life member of Military Officers Association of America, a member of American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston and a member of St. John Catholic Church, Dinwiddie, Va.He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Tourigny, of Sutherland, Va.; stepson, Jed M. Birch of Columbus, Ohio; nephew, John W. Charest of Franklin, Mass.; and niece, Diana C. LEWISTON - Patricia Joan Perron, 64, of Lewiston, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.Born in Lewiston on Feb. 2, 1941, she was the daughter of Albert and Bertha Lassond Fournier. She was educated in local schools and worked for St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and d'Youville Pavilion for the past 40 years.She married Claude Perron on Nov. 26, 1960, and belonged to St. Joseph's parish.She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Frank Michael Gagne, 89, Port Orange, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Ocean View Nursing Home in New Smyrna Beach. Memorial service will be held at a future date in Michigan. Frank was born March 26, 1916, in Adin, N.D., to John and Threecy Gagne, was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Catholic Church in Blumenfeld, N.D., and attended grade school and high school in Karlsruhe, N.D. He worked as a machinist in Detroit, Mich., and was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus in Detroit. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping . He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
