DRACUT -- Joanna (Petropoulos) Levesque, 62, a Dracut resident, died Sunday, Oct. 16, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Raymond L. Levesque.She born in Lowell, Aug. 3, 1943, daughter of Charles Petropoulos of Dracut and Helen (Jenesko) Vezina of Wallingford, Conn.Mrs. Levesque spent her life tending to the needs of her home and family.Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kevin and Linda Levesque, Brian and Cynthia Levesque, and Scott Levesque, all of Dracut; a daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Jeffrey Ignacio of Lowell; six grandchildren, Derek Levesque, Jeffrey Levesque, Keith Levesque, Aaron Levesque, Ryan Ignacio, and Brendon Ignacio; a brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Ann Petropoulos of Lowell; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Maureen and William Bean of Dracut, Charlotte and Carl Burgland, residing in Virginia, Cynthia and Carmen Federico of Waterboro, Maine, and Debra Enwright of Lowell; several half sisters, residing in Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. BARRE— Effie H. (Clark) Phaneuf, 93, formerly of Peach St., died Friday in Athol. She was the wife of the late Romeo Phaneuf. She leaves her daughters Sylvia Swistak of Wheelwright, Dorothy Holbrook of Barre and Rosemary Valardi of Barre, her brother Earl Clark of Barre, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was born in Barre, daughter of Albert and Dora (Paradis) Clark and lived there for many years. She had also lived in Hardwick and returned to Barre several years ago. She was a communicant of St. Thomas of Becket Church and was a member of the Barre Women’s Club and of the Barre Golden Agers. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 am in St. Thomas of Becket Church, South Barre. Burial will take place in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Gilbertville. Emile J. Fontaine 58 of 45 Ballou St. Cumberland died Sunday in Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the husband of Jeannine (Bell) Fontaine. Mr. Fontaine was born in Woonsocket a son of Helen (Blais) Fontaine of Burrillville and the late Adelard Fontaine. Mr. Fontaine was a shipper and receiver for the Northrup Co. in Norwood MA for twenty years before retiring nine years ago. Besides his wife he is survived by a son Steven Fontaine of Dallas TX. and a daughter Jennifer Riquier of Cumberland, two brothers Robert Fontaine of Cumberland and Gerard Fontaine of Cranston, and two grandchildren. Cecile (Hebert) Beliveau – Manchester -- Age 90 of Manchester, died Sunday October 16th at Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester. She was born on August 3, 1915 in Manchester, the daughter of Albert and Albertine (LaFrance) Hebert. She had attended St. Marie School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Growing up, she was her Father’s “little girl”, and very devoted to her parents. As a young women, she worked painting portraits for Roe Studios in Manchester. She also worked with her Father making frames in the family’s barn. As a teenager, she enjoyed spending summers at her Aunt and Uncle’s home in Newburyport, MA. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grand mother & Great Grandmother. She always loved creating special gifts for family and friends, and Christmas was her favorite holiday of the year. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with all of her Grandchildren. Although she lacked a formal education, her family will always remember her as the best teacher they could have ever had. She is survived by 2 Sons, Andre Beliveau and his wife Sharon & Raymond Beliveau and his wife Claudette, all of Manchester. 2 Daughters, Marguerite P. Smith and her ex-husband Glenn & Irene Beliveau, all of Manchester. 1 Sister, Pauline Provencher of Florida. 10 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was pre-deceased by here husband of 60 years, Jean J. Roland J. Minette, 88, Esko, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at his home. He was born May 21, 1917 in Superior, the son of Roy and Anna (Twiton) Minette. Roland was a 1937 graduate of Duluth's Central High School, attended Gustavus Adolphus College and was a 1942 graduate of Colorado College. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II. He married Janet Hessel on Aug. 20, 1962 in Cameron, Wisc. Roland had been employed for many years by U.S. Steel as Supervisor of Stores. He was a long-time member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Roland was a life-long athlete and an avid walker. He was a member of the Minnesota All-Star Hockey Team at Gustavus Adolphus and also played hockey while attending Colorado College. He enjoyed fly fishing, tying his own flies and hunting. Roland had a unique bond with dogs and enjoyed training his own hunting dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Romelle Fowler, Mildred Malone, and Viola Maltby; and a brother, Donald Minette. Roland will be remembered by his family as being a fantastic father and husband. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Janet, of Esko; two daughters, Elizabeth of Esko and Patricia of Minneapolis; and a special niece and nephew, Connie Malone of Hermantown and Randolph 'Skip' Malone of Maple Grove. The family is grateful to SMDC Hospice Home Care for their compassionate care that allowed Roland to peacefully die at home surrounded by his loving family. SUTHERLAND, Va. - Maj. Paul William Tourigny, U.S. Army (retired), of Sutherland, Va., passed away Monday, Oct. 17, after a long battle with cancer.Formerly of Lewiston, he was the son of the late Conrad W. And Carmen Perreault Tourigny. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School and a ROTC graduate of Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., receiving commission in U.S.A. Signal Corps.He served in the U.S. Army in various military capacities, including 12 years in overseas duty and service in Vietnam, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.He was a world traveler and adventurer, who enjoyed long-distance backpacking and hiking, and belonged to numerous hiking organizations. In addition, he was a member of the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, life member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, life member of Military Officers Association of America, a member of American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston and a member of St. John Catholic Church, Dinwiddie, Va.He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Tourigny, of Sutherland, Va.; stepson, Jed M. Birch of Columbus, Ohio; nephew, John W. Charest of Franklin, Mass.; and niece, Diana C. Stevens of Annadale, Va.He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia C. Charest.

She was born in Gardner on July 30, 1936, the daughter of Frank and Marcellina Alisauskas, and was a lifelong resident here.Mrs. Arsenault had been a paraprofessional in the Gardner School System for over 30 years. Backus Hospital, Norwich.He was born August 13, 1941 in Sterling, a son of the late Arthur and Mary Jane (Fournier) Couture and had been a lifelong resident of Plainfield. Mr. Couture was a graduate of Putnam Technical School. He had been employed by the former Pervel Industries for many years and was last employed by Intermark Fabric Corp, retiring several months ago. Mr Couture was a lifelong member of the Plainfield Fire Dept, and had served as a driver with the Plainfield Ambulance Corp for 18 years. He was a former member of the Danielson Lodge of Elks.Besides his wife he leaves a son and daughterin -law, Glenn and Dionne Couture of Ansonia; a daughter and son -in -law TerriLynn and Richard Bernat of Griswold; two brothers Roger Couture of Oneco and Ronald Couture of Plainfield; one sister Annette Moffitt of Plainfield. He also leaves his brothers -in -law and sisters - inlaw, Ronald and Mary Jane Lusser, Theodore and Joan Verba, all of Plainfield and George and Joan Bloom of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his father, Romeo P. Picard, Jr. He attended Millbury Schools. He was a Patroits and Red Sox fan and was an accomplished artist. CYPRESS, Ill. -- Ruby Capron, 85, of Cypress died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill. She was the daughter of Oscar and Myrtle Shourd Davault. She married Archie Capron. Capron was a lifelong member of West Eden Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; five sisters, Sylvia Johnson of Bourbonais, Ill., Erme Owens of Mounds, Ill., Anna Johnson of Dwight, Ill., Francis Bennet of San Diego, Calif., Ellavee Vinson of Houston, Texas; three stepdaughters, Ruth Hahn of Hampshire, Ill., Victoria Bailey of Huntington, W. Va., Myra Capron of Spartanburg, S.C.; and a stepson, Ronald Capron of Carpentersville, Ill. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters and two brothers. The funeral was held Monday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak, Ill. The Rev. Steve Heisner officiated. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery in Cypress.

Quintal, Ronald J. -- October 17, 2005 Ronald J. Quintal, 79, of Pennellville, died Monday. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, to his parents, the late Alfred and Adeline (Stevens) Quintal. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Quintal was a graduate of Tri-State University, Gola, Indiana, in 1952. Castille Sr. and Elmire Tauzin Castille, both of Breaux Bridge. As a young man, George went to work with Arthur A. Castille Inc. before joining the Navy during World War II. Upon completion of his military tour, Mr. Castille returned to his work, and retired with more than 40 years of service.Mr. Castille donated his time to the Boy Scouts of America (20 years) as a Cub Master of Pack 466, and Troop Committeeman and Assistant Scout Master of Troop 133 then as Cub Master of Pack 369. He remained busy during his retirement, serving as an Usher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and staying involved with V.F.W. Post 1982 as a lifetime member (where he served as past Chaplain and was Captain of the Honor Guard). Mr. Castille was also a member of the PBY Catalina International Association (the plane he flew on as a gunner during the war). Other hobbies included beekeeping and travel.Beyond all of his interests and hobbies, Mr. George was first a husband, father, grand and great grandfather and brother. His kind and unselfish way will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amelia Thornton Castille of New Iberia; nine children, Guy P. Croix, Hants Co., passed away on his birthday, October 16, 2005, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with his family by his side. Born in Halifax, Halifax Co., he was the son of the late Walter Frederick Crowell and June Elizabeth (Dunbar) Crowell. Upon leaving Hants West Rural High, David went on to pursue his education at Dartmouth Vocational School for a two year culinary arts program which landed him a few cooking positions until he secured his place as a civilian cook in the military, working at Camp Aldershot, Centreville, for the past 20 years, where David's presence impacted thousands of people that passed through the doors of Aldershot. David developed a family bond with his fellow co-workers as their lives were forever changed as they considered David to be a true humanitarian. The family have always said that David made sacrifices for his own family and especially that of his children as their life experiences are vast as David's knowledge of the world was an open playground for them to learn. Considered eccentric, David was always one for true lasting friendship and chose to surround his life with the love and strength of his family as we considered his strength to be the pillar of ours. David is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Crowell), and their children, Jane and Grant; brothers, Timothy (Carla Scholten) Crowell, Ste.
