TOUGH, Gordon In Gatineau on September 14th, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Bernadette "Bette" Beaulne and son of late George Tough and late Rose Bertrand. Survived by Bernadette's children Gerald (Lucy Brazeau) and his children Marc, Martin and Marie-Eve, Louise and her daughter Kristine, his very close nephews and nieces Gordon, Reggie, Lucille, Suzanne, Valerie, Sharron, Rosalie, Cherryl, Kevin and many nephews, nieces and friends. OBITUARY JAMES H. COLLYER Slipped away in the early hours of Tuesday, October 4, 2005. Born in Lahore, India. He moved as a child with his family to Surrey, B.C. He won a scholarship to UBC but left to become an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy when war was declared. He served as a navigator and saw action in different theatres of war. Predeceased by his brother Donald, he will be sadly missed by his sister Peggy Kluckner of Vancouver. Married for fifty-nine years to his wife Eileen, he is also survived by his three children Christopher, Deborah, and Pamela, as well as his loving grandchildren, Jethro Bushenbaum, Skye and Alexandre Collyer, Lance and Dante Hadden. He had a rewarding career as a publisher and advertising executive. An accomplished artist, he expressed his creativity and love of the outdoors in his gardens, and through his many sculptures and paintings. He will be forever missed. A Memorial service for friends and family will take place at 2 p.m. October 22, 2005 at Holy Trinity Church, 12 Prefontaine West, Ste-Agathe-des-Monts. WHOOLY, John. Surrounded by his loving family, John passed away very peacefully in his one hundredth year, into the Lord's arms on Sunday, October 9, 2005, in Oakville, Ontario. Beloved husband of the late Eileen Whooly and loving father to his three devoted daughters, Maureen Engman, Eileen Smith, and Sheila Leger (Normand). Also survived by his six adoring grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson Eric Engman and sons-in-law Alexander Smith and Terry Engman. John has left behind a life's worth of wonderful memories. His mother died at childbirth and his lifelong dream was to see his mother's beautiful face and to feel his mother's arms around him in God's kingdom. Oh, the joy and oh, the beauty this day has brought to him. Heaven has been blessed. Anyone wishing to honor his memory may do so by giving freely of themselves in need, by comforting the sick and by passing around as much love and kindness as they can. Claude Bodson, époux de Pierrette Séguin, frère de feu, Gérard, Paul et Jean. TAUNTON -- Jules R. Gamache, 85, of Lakeville died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at Morton Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of Lucienne (Barthelemy) Gamache. Born in Middleboro, he was the son of the late Joseph B. and Anna (Dufour) Gamache. He attended Middleboro schools and played softball with the Leighton Team in the Middleboro Recreation League. He served in the Army in Europe during World War II as a member of the 360th Engineer General Service Regiment. He married in January 1946 and moved to Lakeville in 1955. He was a stitcher in shoe manufacturing until he retired from John E. Lucey Co. in Bridgewater. With his brothers Pete, Art and Paul, he built, owned and operated the Lakeville Recreation Bowling Alley and the former Four Quarters restaurant on Route 105 in Lakeville. He also ran the Monday night ladies' league and the Saturday children's league at the alleys. His favorite pastime was playing cribbage with family and friends. Mr. Gamache was a communicant of Sts. Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and was head usher at the 7:30 a.m. Mass for many years. Survivors include a son, Donald Gamache, and his wife, Linda (Hebert), of Taunton; a daughter, Claire Fowler, and her husband, Edward Jr., of East Taunton; a former daughter-in-law, Pauline (Consalvi) Gamache; a sister, Josephine Forcier of Middleboro; three brothers, Leo Gamache and Arthur Gamache, both of Middleboro, and Joseph "Pete" Gamache of Lakeville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anna Cote, Ernestine Stuart, and Paul and George Gamache. His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sts. Martha and Mary Church, Bedford Street, Lakeville. RONAN - Gloria Gail Dumontier Smith, 67, was lovingly received in the arms of her Lord and Savior early Friday morning, Oct. 14, 2005 in Missoula.An enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe, Gail was born Oct. 6, 1938, in St. Ignatius to Harold and Louise (McDonald) Dumontier. Raised and educated in St. Ignatius, she attended St. Ignatius Public Schools before going to Flandreau Indian School.In fact, her life was dedicated to helping children whether it was her own family or kids just needing a mentor. Gail went on to receive her AA in early childhood development from Weber State and worked with kids for over 25 years at Headstart (15 years), at Kicking Horse Job Corps and Second Circle. She loved every minute of it. She also enjoyed dancing, gossiping and stock car races in her earlier years. Later, she enjoyed collecting nick-nacks, bears and wind chimes and "taking" the occasional picture. Gros, Gertrude Ford A retired bookkeeper and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was 94 and a native of Fordoche. Edna Helen (James) Guite, 91, formerly of High Road, Kensington, the widow of George Roebuck Guite, passed away Thursday, (October 13, 2005) at Ledgecrest Healthcare Center. Born in Wallingford, the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Ada (Stevens) Guite, she was a member of the Berlin Congregational Church, the Women's Federation of the Berlin Congregational Church and Berlin Grange. Edna is survived a son and daughter-in-law, David and Maureen Guite of Berlin; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Bruce Mulkey of Idaho; five grandchildren, Alan and Jonathan Guite of Berlin, Beth-Ann Oglenick and Linda Mulkey of California, and Brian Mulkey of Sprague; eight great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Bill Guite and Jack Guite, and a nephew Everett James of Wallingford. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Berlin Congregational Church on Worthington Ridge. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. ANACONDA — Gloria J. Vanisko died Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. Gloria was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Concordia, Kan., to Delos and Fedora Gagnon Nadeau. Gloria was raised in Anaconda, where she attended school, graduating from Central Catholic High School. She married Victor H. Vanisko on Sept. 5, 1950. Gloria was a wonderful homemaker and beloved mother. Her favorite times were those spent with her daughters and their families. She especially loved the holidays and being surrounded by her family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vic; and brothers, Lyle Nadeau and Rene Nadeau.She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Hammon and her husband Marvin, Shelley Harland and her husband Kevin; grandsons, Ryan Hammon and Chase Harland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Anaconda. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda. CLEARWATER, Fla. - Felida Ouellette Simard, wife of the late Bertrand Simard, of Lewiston, died Thursday, Oct. 13, in Clearwater, Fla.She was born in Berlin, N.H., on May 16, 1908, to the Alfred and Armosa LaCasse Ouellette. She was the sister of the late Eva Dionne, Aurele Ouellette and Romeo Ouellette.She resided in Lewiston her entire life. NEW BEDFORD -- Marion L. (Weaver) Surprenant, 81, of New Bedford died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. She was the wife of Conrad R. Surprenant of North Hutchinson Island, Fla., and Rochester. Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late George and Viola Weaver. She lived in North Reading and Wakefield for many years before moving to Wareham. She had resided at Sacred Heart Home for many years. She was a graduate of Salem State Teachers College. She was a second-grade teacher in Wakefield. Mrs. Surprenant was an accomplished artist. Survivors include her widower; a son, Alan G. Surprenant of Ashfield; and two grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Robert Weaver. Her funeral service will be at noon Monday in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, (Route 6), Mattapoisett. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private.
