Francis L. LaPlante, 70, husband of Theresa Sofia LaPlante, died Wednesday (October 12, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. Born April 14, 1935, in Hartford, he was the son of the late Francis LaPlante and Miriam Griffin LaPlante. He was a graduate of Goodwin Technical School in Hartford. Francis moved to Meriden in 1964 where he owned and operated the J & B Mason Contracting company until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Meriden Lodge of Elks for 27 years and attended St. Joseph Church. An avid sports enthusiast, Francis was a real New England fan whose favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was sad to see the Red Sox eliminated from the play offs this year but happy when the Yankees were too. Besides his beloved wife of 43 years Theresa, Mr. LaPlante leaves his loving family, Carl and Christine Ackley of Meriden; two grandchildren, Amy Ackley of Meriden and Lysa Arthur and her husband Edmund of Middletown; two special great grand children, Edmund and Dakota Arthur of Middletown; a sister and her husband, Lillian and Arthur Ballard of Santa Monica CA; three distant children and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Patricia Healy. A memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. AUGUSTA -- Joseph Norman Marcoux, 73, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta campus, following a long illness. He was born in Waterville on April 21, 1932, a son of the late Joseph A. and Rosa D. Evelyn V. Boisvert, 79, of Manchester, died October 13, 2005, at her daughters house, surrounded by her family. She was born February 7, 1926, and was the daughter of Austin and Cora (Gagnon) Richards. She had been a member of St. Raphael Church. She enjoyed bowling, and any time spent at the beach. Evelyn had a soft heart for Gods four legged creatures. Over the years she managed to take in several cats, dogs, even squirrels. She loved to laugh in the company of her family, friends and neighbors. Evelyn was always ready to have fun, her love for her children, and grand children was constant. She will be missed. Mark “Tay” A. Therrien, 46, of Victor Ave., Nashua died Monday October 10, 2005 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack. Mr. Therrien was born in Nashua on July 8, 1959, a son of Wilfred & Irene (Roy) Therrien of Nashua. Mr. Therrien was a lifelong resident of Nashua and was educated in local schools. He had been employed by Datek and prior to that Mr. Therrien had been employed by Nim-Cor. Mr. Therrien was predeceased by a son Dustin Therrien. EDITH DOUCETTE It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edith Beryl Doucette, 51, a resident of Kenora, Ont. for the past 20 years. Edith was born and raised in the Fort Frances, Ont. area and moved to Atikokan, Ont., in 1969, where she lived until her move to Kenora. Edith worked at the Rainy Lake Hotel in Fort Frances and at the Holiday Inn in Kenora. She also was a volunteer of the Salvation Army, and will be remembered for her knitting and love for her cat “Boots.” Edith enjoyed living at the Amethyst House and will be missed by all her friends there, notably Ron and Joyce. Edith will be lovingly remembered by her family, whom she cherished very much, including her brother, Don (Violet) Doucette; nieces and nephews, Sandra (Chris) Johnson, Donna (Jim) Warren, Tammy (Glen) Matichuk, and Terry Doucette; and great-nieces and nephews, Nick, Jason, Brodie, Dyllan, Donnie, Jamie, Jessie, Edith, Joe, and Johnny; as well as her furry pals, Maggie and Rocky. Edith also touched the lives of Judy and Phil Rumpel and their sons, Guy, Sean, and Cory, and the entire Rumpel family, including Grandma Rumpel. She also will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and extended family in Kenora, Atikokan, Fort Frances, Dryden, and Winnipeg. As Edith requested, cremation has taken place. Flowers are gratefully declined, but in memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Humane Society, or a charity of your choice would be heartfully appreciated. A special thank you to the Rumpel family for loving Edith and always being there for her and our family. To Drs. Paul Murray March 14, 1935 - October 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Murray. Paul passed away on October 13, 2005 at the age of 70 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Paul was predeceased by his parents George and Agathe Murray; Brothers Armand and Jean; and Sisters Beatrice and Georgina. Paul will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years Noreen; son Gerry (Denise) with Morgan, daughter Alanna (Todd) Vanderhyde with Tyler, and son Brian. Paul will also be remembered by his brothers Jacques (Therese), George, David (Emily); and his sisters Bernice (Guy) Belisle, Jeannette (David) Jordan, Diane (Richard) James. Paul will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Paul was born in Starbuck, Manitoba and grew up in the Fannystelle area. He married Noreen in Fannystelle in 1961 and they later moved to Winnipeg where he worked for State Electric for many years. Paul and Noreen were active members in St. Charles Parish until 1998 when they retired to Westbank B.C. During the six years they spent in BC, Paul enjoyed gardening, landscaping and creating a beautiful retirement home. Paul was particularly fond of Brian’s dog, Skye. Throughout his life, Paul had an appreciation and respect for nature. He especially enjoyed deer hunting and farming. Above all else, Paul was a loving, kind and compassionate man who touched the lives of all who met him. He was a family man in the truest sense of the word. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their care. As well, thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their compassion. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 18 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Parish Hall, 320 St Charles, with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery and reception in the Parish Hall. Morency, 94, formerly of 128 Nichols St., Lewiston, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Providence St. Joseph Hospital in California.Born in Lewiston on July 1, 1911, a daughter of George and Hedwidge Roy Berube, she attended Frye Grammar School and graduated from Jordan High School.She was married to Maj. John E. Morency, retired U.S. Army, on Oct. 9, 1943; he died Dec. 30, 1971.She was employed as an assistant tax collector for the city of Lewiston and later at Bates College in the office of the Dean for Men, retiring in 1982.She was also active in her community. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, serving as vice president of the Ladies of St. Anne's Society, the Foyer Musical as a young woman serving as secretary, Variety Club, Women's Officers Club, A.A.R.P., Lewiston Senior Citizens and volunteered at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.From 1946 to 1955, she lived intermittently in France and Belgium while her husband served as finance officer for the U.S. military. She also spent time living at Camp Leroy Johnson in Louisiana, Fort Holabird in Maryland, Camp Drum in New York and Fort Devens in Massachusetts, before returning to Lewiston in 1960. For the last two years, she lived in California with her son and his family.She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family on Saturday night, a good lobster feed, surfing the Internet, word puzzles and especially her grandchildren.She will be remembered for her insatiable curiosity, love of adventure, contagious smile and special twinkle in her eye.She is survived by a son, George Morency and his wife, Jane, of Studio City, Calif.; her granddaughters, Alexandra and Madison Morency; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was predeceased by her mom and dad; her sisters, Anita Girouard and Georgette St. Pierre; and her brothers, Adrien Berube and Roger Berube.

Son personnel fidèle: Claire Champagne (30 ans), Carole Carriere et Nathalie Joly (13 ans), Denyse Bergeron, (3 ans), Isabelle Camiré (1 an) et le Dr Nicole Lalonde, son associée depuis 20 ans s'ennuie beaucoup de lui. Un merci très spécial au Dr Pierre L'Heureux et son équipe, au Dr Yves Lefebvre, le CASC, la pharmacie Beauséjour et la pharmacie Larose d'avoir toujours été là pour répondre à nos besoins. Jean apportait souvent des fleurs à la maison. Il aimait également partager un bon repas et une bonne bouteille avec parents et amis. Son amour des voyages est légendaire. En ce moment, plutôt que de lui envoyer des fleurs, faites-en cadeau à quelqu'un. Partagez un souper et levez votre verre à sa mémoire. Pensez à lui lors de votre prochain voyage. Jean serait également fier de vous si vous preniez le temps de faire un don à un organisme qui vous est cher. Judith 'Judy' Beck, 58, of E. Nemadji Loop Rd. died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, from complications due to A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease), surrounded by her family. Judy was born in Duluth on Nov. 15, 1946 to Eugene M. and Dorothy (Olson) Bouchard. She was a 1964 graduate from East High School and married Bill Beck on Aug. 7, 1965 at St. Michael's Church and they moved to Superior in 1980. Judy was a former member of St. Michael's Church and she loved to craft, rose mauling, quilting, collect cats, but most of all spending time with her family and her children. Judy had a contagious laugh and everyone she met became her friend. Judy is survived by her husband, Bill; her son, Bill (Belinda); and her daughter, Tricia (Scott) Swanson all of Superior; her mother, Dorothy Bouchard of Duluth; her sister, Debbie 'Seester' (Roy) Bulloch of Superior and many grandcats. VISITATION:5 to 7p.m. Friday in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, where the visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. services. ORLANDO, Fla. - Robert E. Comeau, 58, formerly of Maine and New Jersey passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2005. He was born on March 9, 1947 in Kearny, N.J., the son of Joseph and Margaret (Wylie) Comeau. Bob attended Kearny High School and later went on to obtain his Bachelors degree from Livingston College and his Masters from the University of Connecticut. Bob served his country in the United States Navy as a Corpman during Vietnam. He was previously employed as a social worker with Tri-County Health in Bridgton. One of Bob’s greatest joys was playing the bagpipes with his many friends through the years, most recently with the Kora Shrine Highlanders in Lewiston. Bob was also a member of the Oriental Masonic Lodge in Bridgton. Bob was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Geraldine Comeau of New Jersey, sisters Carol Comeau of New Jersey, Elizabeth Minor of New Jersey, Kathleen Comeau of Arizona, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5pm at the Black Watch Restaurant on Court Street in Auburn.

PORTLAND - Fernand R. Domingue, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Maine Medical Center.He was born to Evangeline and Evariste Domingue on Oct. 8, 1923, in Lewiston.On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Muriel Beaulieu; she passed away in 1997.He was a proud World War II veteran, having served his country in the 390th Battalion as a corporal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 153 in New Auburn.He worked as a mechanic in local automotive dealerships: Flock Buick, Pontiac Center and Louis Chevrolet, until his retirement in 1998.He lived in Masardis with his daughter and her husband, and will be sadly missed by his feline companion, Bandit.He is survived by his daughters, Noella Craig and her husband, John, of Masardis, and Nancy Fournier and husband, Michael, of Lewiston; granddaughters, Tracy Goulet of Auburn, and Tricia Sierra and husband, Valentin, of Lewiston; grandsons, Jacob, Ryan, Chad and Shawn Fournier of Lewiston, and John E.
