DOVER — J. Bertrand Aube, a longtime resident of Dover, died at home on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, after a long illness.He married Rita E. (McKenney) Aube at St. Mary Church, Dover in 1951 and remained her husband for more than 50 years.Born in Lewiston, Maine in 1927, he was the son of the late Eva (L'Avonne, Yvonne) Aube and Albert J. Aube. He was graduated from Lewiston High School in 1945.Service in the Navy Seabees during World War II resulted in a medical discharge. After the service, he was employed with National Gypsum Company of Portsmouth in various roles, including Seacoast Industrial Relations Association, office manager, shipping agent and comptroller for 30 years.During his working years, Bert enjoyed membership and leadership roles in the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce and Propeller Club of Portsmouth. Bert enjoyed playing cards and solving puzzles during his leisure time. After his retirement, he traveled often visiting Ireland, Germany and Italy in addition to U.S. locales.Besides his wife, Bert leaves three sons, Robert Arthur Aube of Beverly, Mass, Michael Albert Aube of Uniontown, Ohio, and James Andrew Aube of Farmington; and two daughters, Marianne Chojnicki of Dover and Jane Aube Caruso of Falmouth, Mass. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth Aube, Christopher Aube, Melissa Aube, Jenna Kramer, Bryan Aube, Jonathan Rayeski, Ashten Chojnicki, Elissa Chojnicki, Beatrice Caruso, Carmen Caruso and Daniel Caruso, as well as two great-grandchildren, Sean Link and Quinton Kramer. He was the brother of Lucien Aube, Roland Aube, Laurette Drouin, Fernande Lavallee, Claudette Bulotta, Jacqueline King, Constance DeBlois and the late Robert Aube.Visiting hours are Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave in Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, the corner of Chestnut and Third streets, Dover, with the Rev. Fritz Cerullo, OSA pastor, as celebrant. Il était l’époux de Léona (Cormier) Richard de Saint-Antoine-de-Kent. Il était fils de feu Johnnie Richard et de feu Elise Richard. Maude DeCHAMPLAIN Born Feb. 24, 1905 passed away Oct. 4, 2005 at the age of 100. She was born in Ellensburg, WA and resided in Seattle and Alaska for the majority of her life. She is survived by her son, Roger DeChamplain of Prineville, OR and her daughter Donna Scott of Anchorage, Alaska as well as six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. GARANT, Joseph R. - Age 89, of Caseville, formerly of Flint, died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at his home after a brave battle with cancer. Joe was born September 19, 1916, in the home of his late parents Alex and Agnes (LaLonde) Garant in Flint. Joe married Doris O'Connor in 1935 and she preceded him in death in 1981. He then married Evelyn Halleck in 1984, she also preceded him in death, dying in 2000. Joe married Rose Marie (nee Maguire) Osmond on July 3, 2004 at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Joe retired from GM in 1975 after 30 years employment. When he retired he was the superintendent of the Fisher Body Plant in Flint. Joe had participated in the sit-down strike in 1936 against GM. After many years of camping in Caseville, Joe moved there permanently in 1976. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the Caseville Eagles, and the Caseville Retirement Club. He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and spending time with his friends and family. Joe is survived by: his wife, Rose Marie; daughters, Shirley (David) Teggerdine of Howell, Betty (Dave) Clevenger of Fenton and Sally Justus of Caseville; 7 step-children; 15 great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Garant of Holly, Leah Allard of Indiana and Lori (Verl) Winningham of Fenton. He was preceded in death: by his wives, Doris and Evelyn; daughter, Barbara Jean Stanfill; sisters, Edna Mills, Rose Stevens and Lucille Forbes; and brothers, Andrew, William and Leonard Garant. A Funeral Mass will be at 10AM Wednesday at St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 9AM Wednesday at church until the time of Mass. There will be an Eagle's Ritual at 6PM and a Scripture Service at 7PM Tuesday. Yvette Maria LeClair, 62, of High Street, Middletown, beloved wife of 43 years to William LeClair, died on Wednesday (October 5, 2005) at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. Born on December 16, 1942 in New London, daughter of the late Francis J. and Eleonor (Wydler) Palardy. A 1960 graduate of New London High School. She was a private secretary at the General Dynamic Electric Boat for several years. She started in 1989 to present as an Assistant Recreational Director for MARC which she enjoyed and loved each and everyone of her clients. She also volunteered for several organizations and touched a lot of hearts. A member of the ELKS B.P.O.E. #771 Emblem Club. Beside her husband she is survived by four daughters Rhonda Brock of VT, Billie-Jo Hatje, Dawn LeClair, Penny LeClair, all of Middletown. A brother Donald Palardy of Norwich; two sisters, Gail Clark of Vermont, Elsie Johnson of Groton; seven grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Palardy and Richard Palardy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown. CHICOPEE -- Professor Rita (Thievierge) Blake, 62, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at her home. She was the wife of William Blake. They were married 39 years. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lauretta (Boucher) Thievierge. She lived in Chicopee for 37 years. A graduate of Bridgewater State College, she received her master's degree from Westfield State College. Mrs. Blake retired in 2004 from Springfield Technical Community College after teaching there for 23 years. Survivors include her widower; two sons, Michael Blake of Ocean Ridge, Fla., and Steven Blake and his wife, Tara, of Raynham; four sisters, Yvette Thievierge of Falmouth, Lorraine Medeiros of North Dartmouth, Jeanne Medeiros of New Bedford and Lucille Newsham of Columbia, S.C.; and two grandchildren. She was formerly president of the Franklin Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Pat and her husband also sold their wooden crafts at many local arts and crafts shows. Mr. Joseph E. Meunier, of Milford, died peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2005, after battling Myasthenia Gravis this past year. As it was when their marriage began 40 years ago, his loving wife, Maria, was again by his side. Youngest son of the late Salome St. Amant and Hormidos Meunier, he was born in Burlington, Vt., on December 23, 1931. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He moved to Connecticut in 1955, where he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 1995, after 40 years. As true marriage vows are written and lived by, he absolutely loved, honored, and cherished his beloved wife, Maria, above all else. He was a loving, caring and giving father to sons, Walter of Ansonia and Gregory and his wife, Theresa, of East Haven. He loved and adored his two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, John Joseph Meunier; and his four brothers, Richard (Dick), Leo, Norman, and Wilfred. He was a good and simple man, a hard worker, a fair and decent human being and represented best what a husband and father should be. He will be sorely missed, but well remembered by those whose lives he touched. Services were held in private. LACONIA — Bernard "Archie" Charles Archambault, 71, of Laconia, died on October 8, 2005 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a brief illness.He was born on April 20, 1934 in Rutland, Vt., the son of Eldege L. and Florence I. (Renaud) Archambault of Fitchburg, Mass. He graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in Rutland in 1952 and served four years as a basic airman in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.He married Patricia Joan Herf on November 25, 1954 in Cortland, N.Y. and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004. He worked as a retail store manager for 47 years, starting with the M.H. Fishman Company in upstate New York. During his career, he managed a variety of department stores in Rutherford, N.J., Toledo, Ohio, Rocky Mount, N.C., Smithfield, R.I., Concord, and Laconia. He was store manager of Mammoth Mart, Kings Department Store, J.M. Fields, and Globe Discount Stores after moving to Laconia in 1969. Most recently, he was employed as a part-time, night manager for Bloom's Variety Store in downtown Laconia.He and Joan began their family in 1956 and had five children including: Richard L. Archambault of Wakefield, Mass., Darlene A. Dunn of Chesterfield, Russell A. Archambault, of Alexandria, VA, Judith A. Jennings of Holden, Maine, and Randall G. Archambault of Alton. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Laconia, an amateur artist, an avid golfer, and a quiet family man. Michael was born in Sanford on April 10, 1947 to Rene and Adrienne (Tetreau) LeBlanc. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1965 and later in life, obtained his associates degree from York County Technical College. Following graduation in 1965, Michael served his country in the U.S. Navy until 1969. For the past 25 years, he has been employed as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Michael was an active person who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Some of his favorite outdoor activities included hunting, fishing and playing golf. Shooting pool was also a favorite pastime of his. Michael was a genuinely happy person who made the most out of every day. He had an excellent sense of humor and always seemed to be smiling. His glowing smile and positive attitude was infectious and could brighten the mood in any situation. He was a selfless man who enjoyed and loved his family very much and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Helen LeBlanc of Sanford; his parents, Rene and Adrienne LeBlanc of Sanford; a son, Jason LeBlanc, of Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Nicole and Peter Turner of Noblesville, Ind., Danielle and Christian Self of Allen, Texas, Kristen and Nick Loflin of Palm Bay, Fla.; two grandchildren, Joscelyn and Trent Turner of Noblesville, Ind.; and a sister, Aurelie and Edward Pfohl of Syracuse, N.Y. A period of visitation will be held at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located on 29 Winter Street in Sanford on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Church located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

Her husband, Armand Surprenant, whom she married Oct. 11, 1941, at Ascension Catholic Church, Harvey, died Oct. 1, 1995. She was a former member of the First Christian Church in Harvey. She enjoyed bunco and canasta. She was a Cubs fan. Surviving are one son, Armand "Bud" Surprenant of Manteno; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Bill Patton of Urbana, Judy Schurr of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Margaret Hindman of Herrin; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. PITTSTON -- Roland Joseph (Bilodeau) Gervais, 76, died on Oct. 7, 2005, at his home.He was born in Augusta on May 13, 1929, to Joseph Pete and Oneda Bilodeau. Evangeline and Napoleon Gervais adopted Roland at an early age.He served in the Navy for eight years. He was employed for 32 years at the Veterans Affairs medical center at Togus as a nurse's assistant. After retirement, he worked part time at several jobs, the most recent being at Davis-Cadillac and Goggins IGA. Roland was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Gardiner and an usher for several years. He was a member of the third-degree Knights of Columbus Cannabis Council 1299, and fourth-degree Knights of Columbus Cannabis Assembly 0348, Gardiner. He enjoyed working on the chicken-pie suppers and playing horseshoes at their outings until his illness. He was a past member of Le Club Calumet. Roland looked forward to going to Foxwoods to play bingo, and always had a jigsaw puzzle in the making.Roland was predeceased by his parents; brothers Roger, Omar, Perly and Hubert; and sisters Lillian, Julia and Rita. Cumberland -- Anne C. Gouin, of Diamond Hill Rd. and wife of the late Emile "Bud" Gouin, died peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2005 in the R. I. Hospital, Providence. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise (Acciaioli) Bucci. Ann was a communicant of St. Aidan Church. She was a member of the Valley Singers, the Cumberland Senior Center and various other organizations over the years. She enjoyed many wonderful summers in Onset, MA with her late husband, their friends and family. Beloved mother of her two children and their husbands, Gail Cahaly and her husband Ronald Cahaly of Westwood, MA, and Beverly Somers and her husband David Somers of Avon, CT. Anne was greatly admired for her kindness and generosity by her five grandchildren, Ronald Cahaly, Jr., Kimberly Cahaly, Kelly Somers and Brooke Somers, as well as her great grandson, Robbie. She also leaves a brother, Anthony Bucci of Cumberland. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
