Jessie Waterston of White Lake in her 95th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Lloyd Waterston who passed away July 23, 2005. Dear mother of Stephen (Kimberley) of White Lake. WOOLSEY, Robert Orville After a very long and courageous battle with cancer, Bob passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2005 at the age of 56. Loving spouse and best friend, an angel sent from heaven, Nancy Nourry. Loving father of Chad (Cindy Laurin) and stepfather of Megan Carrigan. BELL, Frank Charles The family of Frank Charles Bell grieves the passing of their loving father, husband and friend at the age of 72, after a long battle with cancer, at the Sudbury Laurentian Hospital on Friday, October 7th. Frank is survived by his dear wife Charlotte Anne (nee Duncan), his 3 children Cheryl Lynn (Peter McGuire), Duncan Charles and Barbara Ann (Keith Forrester), 3 grandsons Bryen Charles, Christopher Charles and Matthew Duncan, his father Charles Bell (predeceased), mother Anne (nee Nazar), brother Daniel and his sisters Charlotte Anne and Suzanne. Frank also leaves behind Sherry Bell, niece Cate, nephews Bill and Paul, cousins Richard and Barbara (Bell), and cousin Laurie Simeoni and family. He was a special uncle to Laura Markley and Kimberly Smeaton. He will be remembered as a gentle soft-spoken man with a great sense of humour and a love for great conversation. Frank spent summers at the cottage with his family and close friends where he kayaked, swam, and water-skied until his illness took over. His final months were spent at the cottage where his family loved and cared for him. Frank and Charlotte met at Sudbury High School where they soon became sweethearts. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this November 1st. Frank was considered among the people that knew him as one of Sudbury's "Home Grown Sports Heroes" as sports were an important part of his life. Born in Sudbury in a home on Shaugnessy Street, Frank started playing basketball at the local YMCA at the age of 12. His basketball skills were well known at Tech and Sudbury High and landed him a position on a Canadian Senior Basketball Championship team. Frank had a successful football career starting at Sudbury High, continuing at Ryerson and concluding with an invitation to the Toronto Argonauts training camp as quarterback. Frank began taking care of tennis courts at the age of 13 at Sudbury's Memorial Park and quickly became interested in playing the game himself. He was involved in the planning and the construction of the downtown "tennis bubble". Frank took on a love for the sport of curling and captured two provincial championships representing Northern Ontario in the 1974 Brier and the 1987 Canadian Senior Men's Championships. Frank, together with a number of parents, put together the first Little Rock Curling program at the Idylwylde Golf and Curling Club. In the words of Alan Arkilander, "Frank Bell probably hand no idea the program he started thirteen years ago would be so successful in introducing the sport of curling to hundreds of young curlers." Frank joined his father, Charlie, in the real estate and appraisal field in 1961. Charles Bell Real Estate Appraisals (1946) has since been passed on to Frank's son Duncan who continues the family tradition. Lincoln -- Claire (Aubin) Noel, 93, of Sayles Hill Rd., Manville died Thursday in The Holiday Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Donat Noel.Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Rosanna (Bergeron) Noel. She had resided in Manville for the past eight years previously residing in Pawtucket.She was a member of the Royal Travelers. She was also an avid square dancer.She leaves two daughters, Pauline Zuena of Cumberland and Doris Hughes of West Warwick. She also leaves three grandchildren, one great grandson. WATERVILLE -- Alcide J. Bouchard, 93, died on Oct. 8, 2005, at Oak Grove nursing home.He was born in Winslow on May 27, 1912, a son of Henry and Denise (LeClair) Bouchard. Alcide was a member of Notre Dame Parish. In his younger years he enjoyed a career as an amateur boxer. During World War II, Alcide was stationed in Germany and France from 1941 to 1945 as a member of the Army. He worked for many years as a watchman at C.F. Hathaway Shirt Co., retiring in 1973. Alcide was predeceased by his loving wife, Sabina (Urbanovich) Bouchard; two brothers, Armand and Alphie Bouchard; and two sisters, Alma Carter and Agnes Charland. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Poissonnier of Augusta and Joan Gagne of Waterville; six grandchildren, Kim, Linwood, Tammy, Rodney, Carol and Sherry; eight great-grandchildren, Jazmin Rodrigue, Taylor and Logan Poissonnier, MyKayla and Michael Gogan, and Nicole, Cameron and Katelyn Gagne; a sister-in-law, Mary Hapworth of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours are 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. WEST SPRINGFIELD - Sr. Mary Louis Bertrand of Jesus Brouillette, O.P., 100, died on Sunday morning October 9, 2005 at the Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke. Known in her secular life as Georgina E. Brouillette, she was born in Mansonville, Province of Quebec, Canada the ninth child of thirteen of the late Charles G. and Olympe E. (Varin) Brouillette. She came to the United States as a young woman and worked in Springfield before entering the Dominican monastery. She entered the Monastery of the Mother of God on May 1, 1928 and took her solemn Profession of Vows as a Dominican Nun on May 27, 1934. Sr. Mary Louis Bertrand worked most of her religious life in the art department. She was very gifted in designing and painting. In addition to her Dominican Sisters, she leaves her nephew, Charles Fontaine of Framingham, and her nieces, Terry Yedloski of Dayton, OH, Louise Duckless of Newport, VT and Jeanne Robidas of Quebec, Canada. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning October 12 at 11 a.m. at the Monastery of the Mother of God, 1430 Riverdale Street in West Springfield followed by Rites of Committal in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Broussard and the former Rose Aimee Broussard, was a native of Maurice. He was a Senior Geologist for "Sun Oil Company", "Atlantic Richfield", and " Amanoil USA". Mr. Broussard graduated from SLI. From 1979-1980, he was President of the Lafayette Geological Society. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was an avid golfer, and was a member of Acadian Hills Country Club. He will be missed by all who knew him.Survivors include his wife, Joan S. Broussard, of Lafayette; one daughter, Karen M. LaCombe and husband, Eric P., of Scott; one son, Lindell J. Broussard, of Denham Springs, La.; one sister, Mary A. Cumberland -- Anne C. Gouin, of Diamond Hill Rd. and wife of the late Emile "Bud" Gouin, died peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2005 in the R. I. Hospital, Providence. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Louise (Acciaioli) Bucci. Ann was a communicant of St. Aidan Church. She was a member of the Valley Singers, the Cumberland Senior Center and various other organizations over the years. She enjoyed many wonderful summers in Onset, MA with her late husband, their friends and family. Beloved mother of her two children and their husbands, Gail Cahaly and her husband Ronald Cahaly of Westwood, MA, and Beverly Somers and her husband David Somers of Avon, CT. Anne was greatly admired for her kindness and generosity by her five grandchildren, Ronald Cahaly, Jr., Kimberly Cahaly, Kelly Somers and Brooke Somers, as well as her great grandson, Robbie. She also leaves a brother, Anthony Bucci of Cumberland. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. WELLS RIVER, Vt. -- Russell Joseph Carbonneau, 52, of Wells River, Vt., former longtime Lowell resident, died unexpectedly, Friday, Oct. 7, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H. He was the husband of Diane E. (Bourassa) Carbonneau, to whom he was married for more than 30 years.He was born in Lowell, Oct. 13, 1952, son of the late Russell Sylvio Carbonneau and Eileen (McCarthy) Carbonneau. He received his education in Lowell schools.Mr. Carbonneau resided in Vermont for the past 15 years. Previously, he lived in Lowell, and was a communicant of the former St. Peter Church.Mr. Carbonneau was employed in custodial maintenance at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, N.H., for more than six years. Prior to moving to Vermont, he was a machinist at Lane Machine Co., in Billerica. He had also worked at Textron (formerly AVCO) in Lowell.He was an avid musician and enjoyed teaching music and instrument lessons. An avid guitar player, he also enjoyed singing.According to family members, Mr. Carbonneau's favorite pastime was growing and raising prize pumpkins around his property for relatives and friends, which he did for many years.Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Russell Carbonneau of Arlington, and Robert Landry of Manchester, N.H.; three daughters, Shelly Lescard of Nashua, Tammy James and April Carbonneau, both residing in Massachusetts; six brothers, Ronnie, Ricky, Johnny, Randy, Lee and Ray Carbonneau; three sisters, Adella "Dolly" Hargreaves, Sandy Lloyd and Rosemary Carbonneau, all residing in Massachusetts; several grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.He was also the brother of the late Eileen "Dede" Carbonneau and Wayne Carbonneau. NORTHFIELD - Dora M. (Ethier) Lucchesi, 79, of 67 Rte. 10 West, Northfield, MA died Saturday evening, October 8, 2005, at the Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, MA. She was born in Northampton, MA on June 30, 1926, the daughter of William and Antonia (Fugere) Ethier. Mrs. Lucchesi lived many years in Easthampton and was employed by United Elastic of Easthampton, MA. She moved to Northfield several years ago to be near her daughter Gail. She is survived by two sons Robert of Greenfield, MA and Scott, of Granby, MA; two daughters Antonia Scobi and her husband David of Richmond, NH, Gail Graveline and her husband Joe of Northfield, MA; three sisters Marie Wild and her husband Arnold, and Louise Bouthilette all of Easthampton, MA, Loretta Weidhaaf and her husband Fred of Nova Scotia, and one brother William Ethier and his wife Dot, of Easthampton, MA; three grandchildren Jessica Graveline, Christine and Anthony Scobi, several nieces and nephews, and her cherished dog, Abby. She was also predeceased by a sister Patricia. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.There are no calling hours. GARANT, Joseph R. - Age 89, of Caseville, formerly of Flint, died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at his home after a brave battle with cancer. Joe was born September 19, 1916, in the home of his late parents Alex and Agnes (LaLonde) Garant in Flint. Joe married Doris O'Connor in 1935 and she preceded him in death in 1981. He then married Evelyn Halleck in 1984, she also preceded him in death, dying in 2000. Joe married Rose Marie (nee Maguire) Osmond on July 3, 2004 at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Joe retired from GM in 1975 after 30 years employment. When he retired he was the superintendent of the Fisher Body Plant in Flint. Joe had participated in the sit-down strike in 1936 against GM. After many years of camping in Caseville, Joe moved there permanently in 1976. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the Caseville Eagles, and the Caseville Retirement Club. He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and spending time with his friends and family. Joe is survived by: his wife, Rose Marie; daughters, Shirley (David) Teggerdine of Howell, Betty (Dave) Clevenger of Fenton and Sally Justus of Caseville; 7 step-children; 15 great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Garant of Holly, Leah Allard of Indiana and Lori (Verl) Winningham of Fenton. He was preceded in death: by his wives, Doris and Evelyn; daughter, Barbara Jean Stanfill; sisters, Edna Mills, Rose Stevens and Lucille Forbes; and brothers, Andrew, William and Leonard Garant. A Funeral Mass will be at 10AM Wednesday at St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 9AM Wednesday at church until the time of Mass. There will be an Eagle's Ritual at 6PM and a Scripture Service at 7PM Tuesday. Pelletier, 73, of Main Street died on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.She was born in Falmouth on Dec. 14, 1931, the daughter of William and Ellen (Potter) Jensen.She was a lifetime member and treasurer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 915 Ladies Auxiliary in Lewiston. She had worked for Community Concepts in Auburn with the Food Pantry Program, in which she worked with the Good Shepherd Food Bank, helping to provide to local food banks; and also worked for the Volunteer Drivers Program, which provides transportation for the elderly in the area. Pauline enjoyed traveling and family, and had lived in Connecticut, California and Texas before returning to her birth state in 1987.She was predeceased by her husband, Saturn Pelletier of Greene, on Dec. 7, 2003. She was born May 20, 1951, at Perth Andover, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Katherine McLean She was a graduate of the Southern Victoria County High School at Perth Andover and also graduated with an associate's degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Cheryl was a media analysis at Burrelle's Luce in Presque Isle. She attended the Caribou United Baptist Church. Cheryl is survived by her long time companion, Orin McBreairty of Caribou; her son, Paul Clayton Cote II of Bangor; her daughter, Becky Lynn Cote-Sharp of Clermont, Fla.; five grandchildren, Amber Cote, Celena Sharp, Seth I. Cote, Bryce J. Cote and Riley J. Cote; three stepchildren, Angel M. Norris of Columbia, S.C., Joseph O. McBreairty of Caribou and Tara E. Mr. Joseph E. Meunier, of Milford, died peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2005, after battling Myasthenia Gravis this past year. As it was when their marriage began 40 years ago, his loving wife, Maria, was again by his side. Youngest son of the late Salome St. Amant and Hormidos Meunier, he was born in Burlington, Vt., on December 23, 1931. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He moved to Connecticut in 1955, where he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 1995, after 40 years. As true marriage vows are written and lived by, he absolutely loved, honored, and cherished his beloved wife, Maria, above all else. He was a loving, caring and giving father to sons, Walter of Ansonia and Gregory and his wife, Theresa, of East Haven. He loved and adored his two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, John Joseph Meunier; and his four brothers, Richard (Dick), Leo, Norman, and Wilfred. He was a good and simple man, a hard worker, a fair and decent human being and represented best what a husband and father should be. He will be sorely missed, but well remembered by those whose lives he touched. Services were held in private. NORTH CHELMSFORD, Mass. - Marie S. Normand Vaccaro passed away early Friday Oct. 7, 2005; at the age of 82 and after an extended nursing stay at the D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell, Mass. Marie was born in Sanford, the second oldest daughter of Oscar and Dorothy Normand, longtime residents of Springvale. She most recently lived in North Chelmsford, a suburb of Lowell, Mass., and also summered in Shapleigh where she enjoyed her vacation cottage on Square Pond. Married for 61 years, she is survived by husband, Arthur Vaccaro; daughter, Pamela Jane (O'Brien); son, Stephen Joseph; and daughter, Linda Marie. Her surviving grandchildren are Sean Joseph Barry, Kevin Lee Barry, Kristin Marie Vaccaro, Stephen Joseph Jr. Vaccaro, and Stephanie Laura Hom Vaccaro. Also survived by her brother Eugene Normand and preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen L. (Huard) and brother, Robert L. Normand. Marie was a member of the Sanford High School Class of 1942 and excelled with highest honors as Valedictorian of her class. Marie and Arthur were married May 28, 1944 while Arthur was still serving as a Staff Sergeant in Louisiana for the US Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1945. Marie continued to live in Springvale/Sanford until shortly after Arthur returned from the war and was discharged. However they soon relocated to Malden, Mass., and lived there for 20 years. Then a new job position for her husband, Arthur, afforded them the opportunity to relocate to Harrisburg, Pa. After residing there for one long year, and greatly missing being close to children, friends and relatives as well as Maine and Massachusetts, her husband was able to transfer back and live out their marriage in the present home in North Chelmsford, Mass. Marie was a devoted wife, mother and sister and endured more than her share of crosses to bear. She constantly displayed outstanding fairness, great judgment and gave of herself unselfishly. She will be greatly missed. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at Saint Ignatius Church, Sanford. Visitation will be held between 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. Refreshments will follow the service.

Yvette Maria LeClair, 62, of High Street, Middletown, beloved wife of 43 years to William LeClair, died on Wednesday (October 5, 2005) at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. Born on December 16, 1942 in New London, daughter of the late Francis J. and Eleonor (Wydler) Palardy. A 1960 graduate of New London High School. She was a private secretary at the General Dynamic Electric Boat for several years. She started in 1989 to present as an Assistant Recreational Director for MARC which she enjoyed and loved each and everyone of her clients. She also volunteered for several organizations and touched a lot of hearts. A member of the ELKS B.P.O.E. #771 Emblem Club. Beside her husband she is survived by four daughters Rhonda Brock of VT, Billie-Jo Hatje, Dawn LeClair, Penny LeClair, all of Middletown. A brother Donald Palardy of Norwich; two sisters, Gail Clark of Vermont, Elsie Johnson of Groton; seven grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. CHICOPEE -- Professor Rita (Thievierge) Blake, 62, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at her home. She was the wife of William Blake. They were married 39 years. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lauretta (Boucher) Thievierge. She lived in Chicopee for 37 years. A graduate of Bridgewater State College, she received her master's degree from Westfield State College. Mrs. Blake retired in 2004 from Springfield Technical Community College after teaching there for 23 years. GAUDETTE, Russell Dehan "Dean" - was born August 5, 1923 and passed away October 6, 2005 with his loving family by his side. Dean was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. His parents, Bill and Helen Gaudette, preceded him in death along with his sister, Terry Lemma. Dean graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul. He attended the University of Minnesota, but left to join the Navy in WWII. He served in England and on Saipan. He completed the V12 program at Marquette University. After the war, he attended San Francisco State University, where he received his BA and MA in Education. He began teaching and later became a principal. He met his wife, Nancy, and they eventually re located to Spokane. He was a principal for School District 81 and finished his Doctorate degree at Washington State University. After receiving his Doctorate, he began working at Eastern Washington University as a professor and director of the Campus Laboratory School. He was chairman of the Faculty Senate and chairman of the Education Department. He eventually became the Dean of the School of Human Learning and Development until his retirement. Dean was filled with adventure and lived life to the fullest while touching the lives of everyone he met. Dean enjoyed hunting with Britt river rafting, golfing, flying, hiking, cycling, dancing, woodworking, sailing, and rowing his shell. He was an avid skier and was a member of the ski patrol at 49 Degrees North. He was very active with his church and served as an elder prior to his death. He believed education enhanced our lives and he was always learning, teaching and helping others. His caring for others even took him to Honduras on a Peace Corps Mission working as a volunteer. He also enjoyed volunteering for local nursing homes, Habitat for Humanity, the Valley Food Bank and the zoo. Dean was also a past board member of SAREA and past president of Knife and Fork. He and his wife, Nancy, traveled extensively upon her retirement, but hisfavorite times were spent at the family's lake cabin he built on Lake Coeur d' Alene. It was a time of love and fun activities with family and friends. Dean was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Nancy; his children and their spouses: Mark and Tara Gaudette of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jane and Steve Durant of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tammy and Andrew Hovren of Spokane WA. His grandchildren: Marky, Janise, Michael, Marie, Miller, Matthew, Steven, Alison, David, Michael, Robbie, Leah, Lonnie, Alexea and Madison; and his great-grandchildren: Abi, Tyler and Gabriella. STANLEY, Mary Jane (Molly) Peacefully on Saturday, October 8th, 2005 at the age of 102 at the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre. Her beloved husband, Louis, predeceased her in 1944. Sadly predeceased by her two sons, Glen and Jim. Dear mother of Maureen McIntyre (Joe). She will be missed by her daughter-in-law Germaine (Glen). Her nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild will remember Molly fondly. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 151 Laurier Ave. on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 12 noon. Burial of the ashes will be held in Winnipeg. ST-GERMAIN, Gabriel-Marie (Henri), O.S.M. 1928 - 2005 À Montréal-Nord, le 7 octobre 2005, est décédé f. Gabriel-Marie Saint-Germain de l'Ordre des Servites-de-Marie. Fils de Nazarice Saint-Germain et de Clara Pouliot, il est né le 6 mai 1928 à Sainte-Angèle de Monnoir, Québec. Ses études secondaires terminées, il entre chez les Servites-de-Marie où il fait profession religieuse le 18 août 1947. Au Collège Dominicain d'Ottawa, il poursuit sa formation philosophique et théologique qu'il termine à la Faculté Marianum à Rome. Il est ordonné prêtre le 3 avril 1954 à Rome. De retour au Canada, il exerce son ministère paroissial à Ottawa, Gaspé et Montréal. En 1967, il devient aumônier d'hôpital à Ottawa, Winnipeg, St-Boniface, et depuis 1988, à l'hôpital Marie-Clarac à Montréal-Nord. Outre ses frères de l'Ordre des Servites, il laisse dans le deuil ses frères et soeurs: Soeur Hélène et Soeur Claire, S.J.S.H., Marielle (feu Jacques Gauvin), Denyse (Pierre Ostiguy), Roger (feu Rita Guertin) et Louis-Philippe (Raymonde Drogue).
