ELMER MORPHET Elmer L. Morphet passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ont. He had been born June 24, 1926. Elmer is survived by his beloved wife, Betty. He was the dear father of Dorothy (Bill) Jean-Louis and Richard Morphet, both of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Thomas (Tracey) Morphet of Kenora, Ont.; and also lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Elmer also is survived by two brothers, Edwin (Shirley) Morphet of Montreal, Que. and Irwin (Jeannie) Morphet of Emo, Ont.; and one sister, Melva and her husband, Milo of Winnipeg, Man. Elmer also is remembered by two sisters-in-law, Harriet Morphet and Doris Morphet; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Allan and Herman Morphet. According to Elmer’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation already has taken place. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Gordon Andross, 61 Gordon Andross, a resident of St. Lawrence Lodge, died on Sept. 20, 2005 at Brockville General Hospital at the age of 61. He was born March 19, 1944 in Brockville to parents Joseph Andross and Doris Redmond. His interests were hockey, stock car races and camping. He is survived by his brother Barry Andross and wife Debbie of Roebuck, his nieces and nephews Carrieann MacGillivray (Brent), Tina Andross, Cory Andross (Carrie), Shawn Andross and Barry Andross Jr., and by several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Kevin and Michael Andross. Family and friends visited the Chris Slater Funeral Home on Sept. 22, 2005. The funeral service took place on Sept. 23 in the chapel. Reverend Gerry Ring officiated. Pallbearers were Cory, Shawn and Barry Andross Jr., Brent MacGillivray, Burt Haystead, Marc Herbison and Milford Brown. Burial took place on Sept. 23 at Sandy Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Eileen Duguay, 77 Eileen Duguay, of Mayfield Retirement Residence in Prescott, died at Brockville General Hospital on Sept. 23, 2005, at the age of 77. She was born on Jan. 29, 1928 in Montreal, Quebec to her parents Gilbert Mayers and Thelma Eileen Ahier. She married William Duguay on June 20, 1947 at Beauharnois, Quebec. A Mom and Nanny, Eileen's interests were her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She is survived by her husband Bill, her daughters Lynda Levere (Lawrence) or Cardinal and Judy Walasek (Adam) of Prescott, her sons Gary (Maureen) of Edmonton, Wayne (Margaret) of Halifax, Jeff (Betty) of Prescott, Jim (Debbie) of Metcalfe, Ron (Mary) of Edmonton, Peter (Tammy) of Pefferlaw and Paul of Brockville, 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild and her sister Verna Kelly (Cliff) of Victoria, B.C. Family and friends visited at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott on Sept. 26, 2005. The funeral service was held on Sept. 27 at St. John's Anglican Church, Prescott. Reverend Claude Delorme officiated; he was assisted by Reverend Gerry Ring. The pallbearers were her seven sons. A committal service was held Sept. 27 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. SMITH, Barry Edmund 1935-2005 Peacefully at home after a short illness on Monday, October 3, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. Retired June, 2001 after 38 years of loyal and dedicated service as Controller for Fuller Construction. His life was full: an avid skier, fly fisherman, cyclist and golfer. He was a past member of the Canadian Ski Patrol and in retirement loved to collect stamps and tie flies. He will be most remembered for his great sense of humour, smile and quick wit. They were always genuine and we will carry them in our hearts forever. Survived by his loving wife Sheira (nee Crepin), daughter Nicole Smith, son Gerry Nault (Janet), Steven Nault (Catherine) and his grandchildren, to whom he was known as "Ampa"; Brock, Robby, Shaylynn and his newest granddaughter Charlie. Survived also by his mother Grace Smith and his sister Valerie King. Predeceased by his father Arthur E. Smith. ARIOLI, Don. On the morning of October 4, 2005, Don Arioli passed away, holding the hand of his loving wife, Rose Marie Shapley. Don shared his love of drawing, writing, music and comedy with his children, Amy, Susie, Anna, Regan and France, and grandchildren Ronan and Tobias, who loved him. He will be sorely missed by many, including his brother, Paul, and his sister, Rosie, their families, as well as his extended family in the U.S. He was well loved by those he met in his work and travels. Born in Quebec City, he was in his lifetime a fur trader, a decorated Military Officer WWII.O.L., Croix de Guerre 1940 Belg.; a business executive, retired after forty-five years with Clarke Transportation & Associated Companies; a sometime editor and publisher of a WWII RCAMC Unit History; adept with the salmon and trout rods, so-so on the fairways and putting greens of Kanawaki Golf Club and, suspected by some, as having a green thumb. Beatrice H. (Beaulieu) Demers, 78, of Lawrence, MA, formerly of Manchester, NH died October 4, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on August 18, 1927, the daughter of William and Corrinne (Baribeau) Beaulieu. She was educated in the Manchester school system. She had been employed by Western Electric for many years until her retirement. Prior to that, she had been employed at Chicopee Mill. When residing in Manchester many years ago, she was a parishioner of St. George Church. Among her favorite activities were bowling and spending time with her family. Members of her family include her husband of 58 years, Gerard H. Demers of Lawrence, MA; three sons, Richard and Carol Demers of Derry, Donald Demers of Thornton, and Robert Demers of Lawrence; four daughters, Mrs. Armand (Irene) Desrochers of Suncook, NH, Mrs. Gaetan (Lorraine) Lebel of Lawrence, Diane Carta of Campton, NH and Anita Ansaldi of Holderness; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. CHICOPEE - Daniel C. Chouinard, 64, a lifelong resident of Chicopee passed away Monday at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born September 18, 1941 in Springfield to the late Louis and Dolores (LaFond) Chouinard, he was a graduate of the Chicopee Trade High School. Daniel worked for 15 years as the manager of the body shop at Menard and Holmberg. Mr. Chouinard leaves his devoted wife of 38 years, Gail (McDonald) Chouinard, his loving children, Ricky Chouinard of Ludlow, Jennifer Chouinard of Somerville, MA, and Danielle Chouinard of Chicopee. Daniel also leaves his beloved siblings, Phyllis Chouinard and Anita Jurkowski, both of Chicopee, two grandchildren, Michael and Brittany Blair, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Tony Chouinard, his brother, Jean Paul Chouinard, and sisters, Annette Kratovil and Dolores Pouliout. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, with the services to begin Thursday at 7 p.m. The burial will be at the convenience of the family. St. Laurent, Mary Elizabeth (nee Craves) -- Bay City, Michigan-- Mrs. St. Laurent died October 3, 2005 at Bay Regional Medical Center. She was born August 14, 1913 to the late James P. and Amanda (Schrepferman) Craves and was a life-long resident of Bay City. Mary worked for over 30 years at St. Laurent Bros., retiring as a vice-president in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, a 50-year member of the St. Anne's Society, a member of Zonta International, the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club and Bay City Lodge No. 88 B.P.O.E. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Howard A. St. Laurent, 2 sisters, Margaret Jonsson and Eleanor Niedzielski and 2 brothers, James Bernard Craves and Robert S. Craves. Mary is survived by 2 sons: James J. (Joan) St. Laurent of Los Altos, CA and John H. (Elaine) St. Laurent of Naperville, IL; 3 grandchildren: Jason (Sarah) St. Laurent, Laura (Matthias) Weber, Monique St. Laurent; 4 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Avery St. Laurent and Alexander and Nicolas Weber; a sister, Katherine VandenBrooks of Kawkawlin and brother, John A. GORHAM - Carlton Earl Doucette, 76, of 141 Dingley Spring Road died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005 at the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough. He was born in Cornish on March 20, 1929, a son of Joseph and Nora Thorne Doucette and attended local schools. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Doris Colby of Limington on June 27, 1952 in Sebago. They built a home in Gorham and raised their five children. He worked for the Weyer- haeuser Co. for 35 years retiring in 1990. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, camping, and traveling. He loved going to the Fryeburg Fair with his wife. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris Doucette, who died in 2003. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Clinton, Richard, and Buster; and two sisters, Louise King and Mary Proctor. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Doucette of Steep Falls, Florence Cousins of Gorham, and Mary Low and her husband Jim of Gorham; two sons, David Doucette of Gorham, and Scott Doucette and his wife Melonie of Gorham; a brother, Phillip Doucette of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, Susan, Tonya, Samantha, John, David, Robert, Justin, Andrew, and Zackery; and nine great-grandchildren, Brianna, Sawyer, Alex, Blake, Tyler, Deseray, Jenna, Keegan, and Jayden. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the York Funeral Chapel, 71 Maple St., Cornish. Carlton's family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough for their wonderful care during his stay.

PERU - Shirley C. Cormier, 68, died at her home on Auburn Road, Peru, on Monday, Oct. 3, with her loving family and friends around her, after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer.She was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Rumford, a daughter of George W. and Annie L. (Pressey) Glazier. She was raised in Roxbury and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford Class of 1955.She married Norman H. Cormier on Sept. 3, 1955, at St. Theresa Church, Mexico. They lived their entire life in Peru. They bought a dairy farm where she ran a small business of making cheese, butter, sour milk and whipped cream to sell. With the help of her family, they also sold eggs and produce from their large vegetable garden.She had been employed at the Dixfield Nursing Home for a short time, then started a dog and cat grooming business that grew to more than 135 customers over the course of 45 years. People came from as far away as Florida, and Nashua and Berlin, N.H., to have their pets groomed.She enjoyed decorating the outside of her home for every holiday and won prizes for their Christmas displays. She also enjoyed collecting fine crystal and figurines, and loved to go to car shows in her '69 Buick Electra Convertible with a close family friend, Roger Knox. She loved her two Persian cats, "Coffee Brandy" and "Whiskers."Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Norman Cormier, of Peru; her son, Richard A. Cormier and his fiancee, Cynthia A. Whitmore, of Peru; three granddaughters, Cassie A. Cormier, Angela M. Cormier and Shawna L. Cormier, all of Rumford; and a grandson, Dylan Stefani of Jay.She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Madaline White; a brother, Carl Glazier; and an hour-old newborn daughter, Corrina Cormier.

NORTHBOROUGH— Leslie K. (Henningson) Chapdelaine, 46, of 220 Church Street, died Tuesday October 4, 2005 in the Beaumont of Westborough after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her husband of 23 years, James R. Chapdelaine; a daughter, Suzanne N. Chapdelaine; three sons, James E., John P. and Ian J. Chapdelaine all at home; her mother, Alice (Wieselquist) Henningson of Marlborough, four brothers, John and Jeffrey Henningson both of Northborough, Erick Henningson of Grafton and Ivar Henningson of Brattleboro, VT.; one sister, Jennifer Henningson of Natick; nieces and nephews. She was born in Concord, daughter of the late John Henningson and was raised in Southborough. She graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in 1977 and from Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in 1980. Leslie was a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital in Worcester for many years before retiring in 1994 to take care of her children. Leslie was a devoted mother who volunteered on many occasions at the Lincoln Street School. She also helped her husband coach the Northborough Youth Basketball Team. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 7th in the Pilgrim Congregational Church, Common Street, Southborough. Burial will be at the convenience of the family, in the family plot at Rural Cemetery in Southborough.
