Alice "Claire" Carreau WAVERLEY, NS - Alice "Claire" Carreau, of Waverley, passed away with family by her side on September 6, 2005 in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in North Sydney, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Shields) Abraham. Prior to her marriage in 1952, Claire was employed with the Nova Scotia Department of Motor Vehicles. After 25 years as a proud stay-at-home mom, she was employed by DVA for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid movie collector. She was a long time member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church and a member of the CWL. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian of 53 years'; son, Paul (Sue), Calgary, AB; daughters, Alicia, Edmonton, AB, Juliette (Tony) Bond, Moncton, NB; brother, Father Murray Abraham S.J., India; sister, Betty Perry, Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Kelly, Mark and Angela; one great-grandchild due to arrive any day; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeanne Richard 1955 - 2005 Jeanne Richard, 50, of Dieppe, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2005 at the Moncton Hospital. SMYTH, ALPHÉE The death of Alphée Smyth of Fredericton, NB occurred at Pine Grove Nursing Home on Monday, September 5th, 2005. Born in St. Basile, NB he was the son of the late Fred and Euphemie (Soucy) Smyth and husband of Simone A. (Carroll) Smyth. Alphée will be missed by his son, Carl (Carmel) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Kevin (Heidi) of Ottawa, ON, Brian A. (Susan) of the Head of St. Margaret's Bay, NS, Carol Green (Ralston) of Whitby, ON, Shawn of Oshawa, ON, Paul (Tracey) of Fredericton, NB and Darlene Liu (Warren) of Singapore; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; seven brothers; one sister and a grandchild. RIX, Barbara Ann, Peacefully at Versa Care Health Centre on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 in her 75th year. Barbara, loving wife of William. CHAPMAN, Allan James Retired - R.C.M.P. Peacefully, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, Allan was called to be with the Lord on September 5, 2005 in his 73rd year. Remembered by his steadfastly loving wife of 48 years, Joan Chapman (nee Kerr), his most cherished and blessed children Jean Ann Chapman (Ron Henderson), Andrew Chapman (Susan Shaw), Glen Chapman (Sabrah Talib), and his grandchildren Mallory, Kyle, Adam, and Norah. Dear brother of Ruby and the late Sid and Rena. Always inspiring, positive, and supportive, he touched so many with his sense of humour and wonderful outlook on life. DE LOTTINVILLE, Edwin After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Ed passed away peacefully, surrounded in a circle of love, on September 3rd, 2005, in the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre, at 70 years of age. He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Anita (nee Genereux). He will be lovingly remembered by his children and step-children Debra (David Rome), Diane (Tim Kelly), Bryan, Karen (Larry Stanton), Sheryl Nelson, and Tim Nelson (Rosemary). Grandpa to Michael, Sarah, Patrick, Gabriel, Annabelle, Matthew, Laura, Sara and Jordan. He will be sadly missed by his sister Elinor Stalkie (friend Jesse), and his brother Dale De Lottinville (Darlene). Also, special family member Kerrie Penney. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, September 9th, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel (2500 Baseline Road). DEVER, Walter George, W. Cmdr., R.C.A.F., ret'd Passed away early September 4th, 2005 at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital at age 96. Born in Montreal March 3rd, 1909, the youngest of 13 children of Samuel Dever and Bridget Melody, predeceased in November 2000 by his wife Gretchen (Gay) nee Heidman, father of John, Richard and Dan (Kitty) of Ottawa-Carleton and Susan Nakamichi (Masaki) of Cobourg, grandfather of Janet, Matthew, Stephen, Jason, Jennifer, Eric, Elli, Ken and Mari and great-grandfather of 11. He will be sorely missed by family and numerous relatives and friends who enjoyed his fun loving and generous spirit. Walter was proud of his career with the RCAF 1937-1960, after which he acted as financial director for the United Way of Ottawa, performing as comptroller from 1960-1970. CLARKE, JEAN - The death of Jean Clarke of St. Stephen, NB, occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on Sunday September 4, 2005. Born in 1917 at St. Stephen, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank Clarke and Blanche (Turner) Clarke. She is survived by two sisters, Irene MacKenzie of St. Stephen, NB, and Roma (Dustin) Webber of Kingston, Ontario, sisters-in-law, Eva Clarke of St. Stephen, NB and Eileen Clarke of Halifax, NS, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Gordon Clarke, Donald Clarke, George Clarke and Jacqueline White. No visitation, a private graveside service will be held. BRIDGEO, REV. GEORGE "BRUCE" - Of Browns Flat, NB passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 1, 2005 at the age of 78. Born in Port Maitland, NS on May 31, 1927. He was the son of the late Edward and Christine (Parry) Bridgeo. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years ; Mary Ella (Haywood) Bridgeo, his three children; Edward Bridgeo and his wife Lydia of Sussex, Joan McCoy and her husband Stuart of Roann, Indiana and Dr. David Bridgeo of Windsor, Ontario, his sister Mabel Stone of Belleville, Ontario, five grandchildren Tracey Carter, Jodi McGibbon, Shane McGibbon, Capt's Robyn and Stephanie Bridgeo, Ryan and Holly Bridgeo and Jeff McCoy and twelve great grandchildren; Jesse and Shawn Carter, Dustin, Cody and Nicholas Wilson, Billie McGibbon, Ashley, Hannah and Elijah Bridgeo, and Jordan, Taylor and Micah Bridgeo, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bruce was predeceased by six sisters; Neta, Violet, Katherine, Louise, Alice and Elsie and by three brothers; Clyde, Robert and Edward. Bruce was a retired Wesleyan Minister and College Professor. In 1945, Bruce attended Holiness Bible Institute in Woodstock, NB. He was the interim pastor at the Reformed Baptist Church in Woods Harbour and later pastored at the Reformed Baptist Church in Jonesport, Maine from 1949 to 1953. From 1953 to 1958, Bruce attended Olivet Nazarene University receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation he taught at Bethany Bible College in Yarmouth, NS until 1959 when he began pastoring the Reformed Baptist Church in Halifax, NS. IN 1967, he began teaching in Sussex at Bethany Bible College and in 1969 he received his Masters degree. In 1992, Bruce retired and moved to his summer home in Browns Flat. He and his wife Mary wintered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for three years and later wintered in Florida for the next seven winters. From 2004 - 2005 Bruce resided at his home in Browns Flat, NB. The funeral service was held on July 5th at the Beulah Camp Tabernacle in Browns Flat, NB. Opening comments were given by Rev. Don Ingersoll followed by a congregational chorus "I'll Be True Blessed Jesus". Scripture was read by Rev. Peter Thomas followed by a trio of close friends: Paul Mullen, Cedric Landers, and Stuart Steeves, singing "That I Might Be Like Jesus". Family memories were shared by grand-sons Robyn and Ryan Bridgeo. The message was delivered by Dr. HC Wilson, followed by "It Is Well With My Soul" sung by a one-hundred voice choir of his ministerial colleagues. The Benediction was given by Rev. Don Ingersoll, followed by Doxology. The organist - Cedric Landers; Pianist - Paul Mullen; The Pallbearers were: Rev. Wayne Blinn, Rev. Dale MacDonald, Rev. Mel Norton, Rev. Glen McVicar, Rev. John den Hollander; and Danny McElman. The internment followed at the Browns Flat Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiated by Rev. Wayne Briggs and Rev. David McElhinney. MARY JOYCE LUCKIE Mary Joyce Luckie, age 83, of Fort Frances passed away suddenly on Friday September 2, 2005 at the LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario. Mary was born on May 23, 1922 in Poland. Her family arrived in Canada on April 2, 1930 and settled in Southern Manitoba. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg and there she met and married William Frederickson and together they had four children Marion, Elizabeth, Judy, and Barry. In 1967 she moved to Fort Frances with John Luckie and they were married in 1972. Mary worked as a cook most of her life and retired from Rainycrest in the early 1980’s. After retiring she moved to Emo becoming one of the first residents at Golden Age Manor. She resided there until her health forced her to move back to Fort Frances. Mary was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Emo and enjoyed traveling, fishing, crafts and gardening. She was an excellent cook and had a home remedy for every ailment. She was predeceased by her parents Carl and Helen Dresler; first husband William Frederickson; second husband John Luckie and son Barry Frederickson. Mary is survived by her daughters Marion, Elizabeth and Judy all of Winnipeg, MB; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Marge and nephew Jim (Kay) Schindel of Niagara Falls, ON; sisters-in-law Anne Turgeon of Fort Frances, Antonia Spuzak of Crozier and Ann Luchka of Dryden; nephews Mike (Lillian) Bodnar and Bill (Doreen) Bodnar of Crozier and many more nieces and nephews and their families as well as close friends Cliff and Cheryl Hagen and their family of Black Hawk. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Emo, Ontario. Pastor Andrew Hall officiated with interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ontario. The honourary pallbearers were Mike Bodnar, Bill Bodnar, Cliff Hagen, Ralph Hagen, Justin Hagen and Jim Schindel. The active pallbearers were Joe Bodnar, Anthony Vanderaa, Jim Luchka, Ray Mose, Stewart Carter and Patrick Hyatt. OLSEN-DUNN, Eutonnah With love and treasured memories, the family of Eutonnah announce her passing in her 56th year, on September 4, 2005, at the Palliative Care Hospice at May Court, in Ottawa, Canada. For the past thirteen months, she fought a courageous battle with small-cell lung cancer. Her life, vision and legacy will be remembered and cherished by her family and her many friends. LEWISTON - Mary Drigotas Girard, 85, affectionately known by her close friends as "Mugs," died suddenly in her Lewiston home on Saturday, Sept. 3.She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 29, 1919, one of seven children of Martin and Carusa (Stelmok) Drigotas. She was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1937.She was employed locally by the AT&T Co. in varying capacities as an operator, service representative and cashier until her retirement in 1982. During a break in her AT&T service, she raised a son, Bruce, and lived in Brunswick, Lake Worth, Fla., and at Tacoma Lake until her return to Lewiston in the early '70s. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling and was active in the telephone company Pioneers' Association. During the past 20 years, she had lovingly cared for her mom and her brother and sisters.She is survived by her sister, Ann Fahey of Auburn; her brother, Ed Drigotas of Palm Bay, Fla.; her son, Bruce McFadden and his wife, Janice, of Monroe, Conn.; and several nephews and a niece.She was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Robinson and Sally Pollard; and her brothers, John "Bucky" Drigotas and Frank M. Drigotas Sr.

HAGAN, Georgette, 71, of Hernando Beach South, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville. She was born in Casablanca, Morocco, and came here four years ago from St. Petersburg. She was a homemaker and prior to her marriage, she was an licensed practical nurse specializing in pediatrics. Her special interests included ceramics and crocheting, and she was an avid fitness buff. She was of the Jewish faith. Survivors include her husband, Henry of Hernando Beach; two sons, Michael of Tifton, Ga., and Gregory of Riverview; one daughter, Barbara Goff of Lakeland; two brothers, Gaston Bohbot of Marseille, France, and Robert Bohbot of Paris, France; five sisters, Suzanne Ittah of Ashkelon, Israel, Irene Tobin of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Clemence Metcalf of Clearwater, and Jacqueline Bitoun and Yvette Halimi, both of Marseille, France; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Suzanne was a graduate of Fenton High School and taught Red Cross swimming for Fenton and the surrounding area for 15 years. She had been a resident of Linden for over 20 years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who will be missed by family, relatives and friends. She worked as a cashier at Walmart. Suzanne befriended everyone she ever met, and being a cashier, she met many people. She was also a die hard Lions fan forever. TILLINGHAST, LISETTE MICOLEAU, 91, of Providence and Little Compton, died on Sunday, September 4th at Epoch in Providence. She was the wife of the late Charles C. Tillinghast, Jr., former Chancellor of Brown University and former chairman of Trans World Airways. Born in Providence, Mrs. Tillinghast was the daughter of the late Henri Micoleau, former French professor at Brown University and the late Elizabeth J. Micoleau. Mrs. Tillinghast attended Wheeler School, Abbot Academy and Rhode Island School of Design. She was an artist member of the Providence Art Club and a member of the Westport Art Group. She is survived by a son, Charles C. Tillinghast, III of Sun Valley, Idaho; and three daughters, Elizabeth T. Nadeau of Rochester, NY and Little Compton; Jane T. Roberts of Little Compton; and Anne M. Tillinghast of Providence and Little Compton. Besides her children, she leaves twelve grandchildren. One grandson, Alex Roberts, predeceased her. In addition, she is survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren.There will be a private memorial service for family members. BELOTE MARIE ROSE -- Age 67, Of Battle Creek. Marie died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at her home surrounded by her family, friends and pets after a courageous, long-time battle with cancer. She was born Marie Rose Cloutier, the daughter of Roland and Muriel (Fontaine) Cloutier in Biddeford, Maine. She worked many years for Transamerica Insurance then the Federal Center from which she retired. As all who knew her knew, she was a champion for animals. She worked right up to the end rescuing homeless cats from starvation and helping to find homes for them. She is survived by her sons, Brent Belote of Detroit, Michigan and Bryan Belote of Oak Park, Michigan. She also leaves behind her sister, Pauline (Ernie) Melancon of Ocala, Florida. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial to celebrate her life will be announced in the near future. A memorial donation may be made to either Good Samaritan Hospice or Concerned for Critters. Her sons would like to thank the family and friends for all their support and love. CHELMSFORD -- Martha C. Lanteigne, 76, a resident of North Chelmsford, died Sunday evening, Sept. 4, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the wife of Ernest "Nick" N. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1937.In her early years, Mrs. Lanteigne was employed with Western Electric in Lawrence. Before retiring in 1997, she had worked at Raytheon in Andover for 24 years.She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford.She enjoyed going to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, and playing bingo at the Kiwanis Club in Hudson, N.H. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening.Besides her husband and mother, survivors include two daughters, Diane Allen-Schlott of Hampton, N.H., and Robin Lanteigne and her companion, William Manganaro, of Moriches, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Shannon Allen of San Angelo, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Gene St. Cyr of Azle, Texas, Janet and Richard Beaudoin of Palm City, Fla., and Marilyn and George Beardsley of Bethlehem, N.H.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.She was also the mother-in-law of Kurtrick Schlott, who died in September 2001. PALM COAST - Edward J. "Jack" LeSage, 79, of Fenwick Lane, who retired as an industrial salesman in the Long Island, N.Y. area, died Aug. 25 at Florida Hospital Flagler. Mr. LeSage, a member of the merchant marines, was born in Pittsfield, Mass., and came here in 1993 from Long Island. He was a member of St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church, the Flagler County Democratic Club and the Master Gardeners. He was a graduate of Sienna College and the Pratt Institute. He enjoyed volunteer work at many local organizations and was a talented wood carver. Survivors include a son, Edward, St. Augustine; a daughter, Nancy Watson, Orlando; and seven grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church, 303 Palm Coast Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137. McVEY, Blair James Blair James McVey of Espanola passed away at the Espanola General Hospital on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Beth McVey (nee Paerson). Dear son of the late Cecil and Mar (Parkinson) McVey. Loving father of Trevor (wife Lorrain), Tyson and Melissa (Mrs. Ryan Courtemanche) all of Espanola. Will be sadly missed by 3 grandsons Noah, Evan and Ethan. Dear brother of Gerald (wife Joyce) of Espanola, Doran (wife Maxine) of Gore Bay, Marilyn (Mrs. Richard Burton) of Sudbury, Janis (Mrs. Paul Beffort) of Cambridge, Ian (wife Tammy) of Little Current, Susan (Mrs. Bob Dixon) of Hanmer and the late Lyle. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Blair retired from INCO in 1999 after 30 years. He was a dedicated member of the Espanola Elks. Resting at the BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME, Espanola on Friday, September 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. from the United Church of Espanola with Reverend Cathy Russell officiating.
