Beloved husband of Carolyn and devoted father of Veronica and Marc all of Kanata. Cherished son of Rose-Anna Vachon of Montreal. Dear brother of Real, Gilles, and Claude. McCUMBER, Jack Of Grand Island, N.Y., formerly of Niagara Falls, died quietly in his sleep on Saturday, August 13, 2005. He was the son of Thomas and Florence (Walker) McCumber. Jack was born on March 28, 1920 in Verona, Ontario. He and his family im migrated to the United States in 1927, initially living in Rochester, then Cheektowaga, and then on Whitney Avenue in Niagara Falls. He lived in the city for 68 years, more than 35 years in his home on 29th Street. He attended Gaskill Junior High Sch ool and Niagara Falls High School. He moved to Grand Island in 2000. In 1940, Jack enlisted in the Army National Guard (174th Infantry Rifle, L Company) and trained at Fort Dix, N.J. where the unit was federalized. He served until early 1941. After t he attack on Pearl Harbor (December 1941), Jack joined the Navy where he served until December 1945. During the war, he was stationed in Rhode Island, Virginia, Florida, and California, serving in Navy hospitals. He was in California, part of a task force preparing for the land invasion of Japan, when the war ended. He was then assigned to Sasebo, Japan as part of the initial occupation force. He returned to the U.S. on Christmas day, 1945. Jack married Anna Reddick of Niagara Falls, on April 24 , 1942. Jack was an active father and grandfather. He was employed by the Hooker Chemical Company for 32 years, retiring from his pipefitter position in 1982. Jack also enjoyed gardening, camping and deer hunting. Jack is survived by his wife of 63 y ears, Anna McCumber, three children, Michael (Lynda) McCumber of Chelmsford, MA; Kevin (Chery) McCumber of Elk Grove, CA; and Laura McCumber of Grand Island; seven grandchildren, James, Kenneth and Kathryn McCumber of Chelmsford; Joshua, Alexander, a nd Jolie McCumber of Elk Grove; and Andrew McCumber of Grand Island. He is predeceased by his brother, Earl McCumber of Niagara Falls; his sister, Thelma Ford of Brandenburg, Kentucky; and one grandson, Thomas McCumber of Chelmsford. WEST, Mary Lucille An incomparable mother, grandmother and wife of the late Queen's professor, Allen Sherman West, died in Kingston General Hospital on August 14, 2005. She is survived by her children Susan, Catherine and Christopher and her grandchi ldren Devlyn, Gareth, Aislinn, Jared, Nicholas, Marina, Julia, Emma, Olivia, Harry, Allen, Jennifer and Rebecca; by her two kitties, Ruby and Bloom; and by a legion of friends. Born to Mary Rothwell and Dr. Harry Quinn in Brantford, Ontario in 1923, she was felled far too soon by an insidious blood disorder. EPPS, R. Allan In loving memory of R. Allan Epps, 55 years, of Lively, who passed away on Sunday, August 14th, 2005 at the Killarney Road. He was born in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Allan moved to Sudbury in 1968. The same year he commenced his employment with INCO. Presently he is the general foreman at the Frood-Stobie Complex. He was a well respected leader at INCO whose strong work ethic inspired all who knew him. He led by example in encouraging others to do the best personally and professionally. Al was quick to acknowledge the successes and accomplishments of his fellow workers often organizing recognition dinners or team building events such as ball and hockey tournaments. He was an avid golfer, who enjoyed golfing and reading. He was a co-founder of Miners for Cancer which has made significant contributions to further the care & research at our regional cancer centre. Allan will be remembered as a very generous man who was always there to provide guidance and encouragement without any expectation of recognition in a public way. OXFORD— Antoine “Tony” W. Boucher, 83, of Theresa Circle, died, Saturday, August 13, 2005, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy “Dot” L. (Gage) Boucher of Oxford, who died in 1998. He is survived by three sons, Robert A. Boucher and his wife Judith of Brewster, Richard P. Boucher and his wife Jane of Bullard, TX, and David A. Boucher and his wife Laurie of Oxford, with whom he lived; a brother, Francis X. Boucher of Millbury; two sisters, Bernadette Bilodeau of Oxford and Theresa Black of Holden; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Charlton, the son of the late William A. and Mary (Lesley) Boucher, and lived in Charlton and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1946. Mr. Boucher graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School in Worcester in 1940. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and received the Purple Heart for injuries received in the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Boucher was a police officer for the Oxford Police Department for 24 years, retiring in 1981. Throughout his life, he was a brick mason and a member of the Bricklayers, Mason, and Plasterers Union Local 6 in Worcester. Mr. Boucher was an officer of the Oxford Civil Defense Force and an adult Boy Scout leader for troops 147 and 149 in Oxford for many years. He was past president of the Oxford Police Association and a member of the Worcester County Policeman’s Association. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 in Oxford and a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. Mr. Boucher was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford and also a member of the church choir. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford and was also a 4th degree knight. A military funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main Street, Oxford. Harrison Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Norwich, Ronald Harrison of Covington, GA, Richard Harrison of Amherst, MA, Brian Harrison and his fiance, Lisa of Norwich, and Steven Harrison and his wife, Ruth of Stafford Springs; two daughters: JoAnn Thompson and her husband, James of Windham and Cynthia Carpenter and her husband, Paul of Hanover. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, a sister - in - law, Dorothy Champagne of Windham and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 8/18/05 at 10 am in St,. Mary's Church in Willimantic, CT. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. Backus Hospital, Norwich.He was born September 9, 1936 in Plainfield, a son of the late Delphis G and Eva (Frechette) Coderre, Sr., and had been a lifelong resident of Moosup.Mr. Coderre had been employed for many years as a laborer with Union Local #547 in Groton.He was a member of the Ekonk Grange and the Forester's Club both of Sterling.Mr. Coderre enjoyed gardening and farming.He is survived by a brother, Alfred Coderre of Moosup, a sister, Georgette Lucier of Moosup, three nephews and four nieces. WARREN -- A memorial service was held for Nathan Gordon Faucher at Rural Cemetery in Waldoboro on Aug. 13. Nathan was born on Aug. 5, 2005, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport, the first child of Shawn Patrick Faucher and Denise Anne (Ponsant) Faucher of Warren. Nathan died Aug. 6 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, in the arms of his parents and surrounded by his loving family. It is the wish of his family that his life, though brief, be meaningful and helpful to others. Nathan was a victim of a little known but deadly infection of newborns called Group B strep. Shawn and Denise, along with their extended families, will be working to educate doctors, hospitals and the public about Group B strep through The Jesse Cause, a nonprofit organization established by parents of GBS children.Approximately 25 percent of women in the United States carry Group B strep and are susceptible to its devastating effects, including fetal and infant death, meningitis, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, and hearing and vision loss. A simple administration of antibiotics during delivery can prevent or greatly reduce this aggressive infection. AUBURN - Gracia L. Simard, 91, a resident of 19 Joffre St., Auburn, died peacefully with family and friends by her side Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, at the Odd Fellows Home.She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 10, 1914, the daughter of Louis and Leonie (Lambert) Gagnon. She attended Auburn schools and married Hilarion Simard. They were married for 62 years, until he died in 1993.She enjoyed riding in the mountains, the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and playing Chinese checkers with family and friends. Sharing holidays with family was always special to her.She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church.Survivors include three sons, Paul F. Simard and his wife, Adele, of Sunset Beach, N.C., Donald J. Lucille L. Gaulin, 88, of West Hartford passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday, (August 13, 2005). Born in Augusta, ME on May 4, 1917, she moved to Putnam St., Hartford. In 1947, she purchased her loving home at 44 Mayflower St., West Hartford where she raised her children and met the friends of a lifetime. Lucille was a member of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford throughout her healthy life. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Arnie Lerch of Coventry; a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Marsha Gaulin of West Hartford; a grandson, Tom Williams and his wife, Robin and their daughter, Lindsey of Coventry; a grandson, Bryan Lerch and his wife, Alexandra and their daughter, Lauren of Coventry; a granddaughter, Sheila Delaney and her husband, Tom and their sons, Colin and Quinlan of Coventry; a granddaughter, Gabrielle Gaulin and grandson, Remy Gaulin both of West Hartford; and her nephews, Michael Poulin and Jean Paul Poulin. The family wants to thank all of the wonderful friends who filled Lucille's life with joy and laughter; her friend for life, Julie Michaud and her husband, Frank, who were always there for her. Her companion, Franklin Close of East Hartford with whom she traveled broadly and opened opportunities in all of our lives. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Gaulin and a sister Dolores Poulin. Lucille is now resting with her good friend, Aunt Flo enjoying a cup of coffee and playing setback. Albert Pelletier, 75, of Bristol, beloved husband of Catherine "Kate" (Corbin) Pelletier, died Saturday, (August 13, 2005) at Bristol Hospital. Mr. Pelletier was born May 10, 1930, in Fort Kent, ME and was the son of the late Wilfred and Melina (Hebert) Pelletier. He is a Korean War veteran having served with the 82nd Airborne, where he earned the rank of Sergeant . He worked at Marlin Rockwell in Plainville for 33 years until it closed. He was self-employed doing landscaping and snowplowing. Albert was never idle; he was a talented handy man, he was able to fix anything. He enjoyed gardening, just puttering around in the garage, and he was an avid Nascar fan. In addition to his loving wife Catherine, Albert is survived by four sons and two daughters and their spouses, Michael and Dianne Pelletier of Southington, James and Sandra Pelletier of Plymouth, Deborah and Frank York, Wayne and Brenda Pelletier, Kevin and Donna Pelletier, all of Bristol, and Karen and Gene Martin of Southington; four brothers, Richard, Edgar, Clifford and Wilfred Pelletier Jr., four sisters, Germaine Soucy, Mildred Dubois, Juliette Pelletier and Gloria Caron, all of Fort Kent, ME; 14 grandchildren; Michael, Christine and Aaron Pelletier, Peter and Jennifer York, Darin, Shawn, Alyssa and Moriah Pelletier and Nicole Barber, Mathieu and Andre Pelletier, Daniel McCormick and Gene Martin; plus many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Armand A. Pinard, 80, of Bedford, NH died August 14, 2005 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Manchester, NH on July 31, 1925, the son of Alfred A. and Albertine (St. Pierre) Pinard. He was educated in the local school system. Armand was a veteran of the US Armed Forces, having served in the Army during WWII. Following his retirement from the VA Medical Center after 25 years, he worked for the Manchester Transit Authority for 23 years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish and a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood. He was a devoted family man. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who was also a motorcycling enthusiast. Members of his family include his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline Pinard of Bedford; one son, Marc Pinard of Manchester; two daughters, Dona Zajac of Manchester and Lisa Pinard of Manchester; a grandson and his wife, Aaron and Jennifer Pinard of Auburn; two great-grandchildren, Brodey A. Pinard and Chandler C. Pinard, both of Auburn; a brother, Roger Pinard of Manchester; two sisters, Anita Woods of Florida and Theresa Bussiere of Manchester; nephews and nieces; He was predeceased by a brother, Bertrand Pinard. Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester, are Wednesday from 6 to 8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery. CHASSELL - Ann Cote, 92, of Chassell, passed away Monday, August 15, 2005, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. The former Ann Pintar was born October 10, 1912, in Painesdale, a daughter of the late Anna and Anton Pintar. She attended the Painesdale High School. Ann later lived in Houghton and Detroit. In 1944, she moved to Chassell and resided there until moving to Sault Ste. Marie and Ontonagon. Since 1985, she made her home in Chassell.Ann was married to Raymond Olson and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1955. She later married Raymond Cote who died on May 24, 1984.She was employed for several years by the Copper Country Sanitarium in Hancock.Ann was a member of St. Ann's Church in Chassell and its Altar Society; the Chassell Senior Citizens, and was a life member of the Bishop Baraga Association and the Royal Neighbors.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Georgiana; her grandson, Richard; and brother, Anton Pintar.Surviving are a daughter, Rose Marie (Tony) Pleshe; a son, Raymond Olson, Jr. of Williamsville, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three step children, Jill (Tom) Reabe, Dean (Rose) Cote and Donna (Art) Outcult; four sisters, Julia McMillan of Holly, Mich., Antonia (George) Wesa of Ironwood, Mary Bianchi of Chassell, Catherine Datto of Baltic; and a brother, Martin Pintar of Hancock.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Church in Chassell. BOSCAWEN -- Rachel Plourde, 86, formerly of Franklin, died Thursday, Aug. 11., 2005, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. She was born in Franklin on Jan. 18, 1919, the daughter of Donat and Blanche (Hebert) Plourde. Ms. Plourde was raised in Franklin and was a resident of Merrimack County Nursing Home since 1960. Several years ago, she was employed at Merrimack County Nursing Home. She was a communicant of St. Paul Church. She is survived by cousins. Her brother, Lawrence Plourde, predeceased her. NORTHBRIDGE— Cecile L. (Poliquin) DeJordy, 82, of Fowler Rd., died Sunday, August 14, after an illness. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Joseph D. DeJordy, Sr.; three sons, Robert E. DeJordy, Joseph D. DeJordy, Jr. and Mark R. DeJordy, all of Northbridge; three daughters, Pauline C. Taylor of Webster, Joanne H. McCue of Melvin Village, NH and Denise M. DeJordy of Northbridge; nine grandchildren; a sister, Amanda Morin of Linwood and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her son, Paul J. DeJordy. Born in Northbridge on January 6, 1923, she was the daughter of Peter and Ursula (LaFlamme) Poliquin. Mrs. DeJordy was a dietary aid at the former Whitinsville Hospital for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, word searches and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Her funeral will be held from the Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge, with a Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 121 Linwood St., Linwood. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Lawrence E. Remillard of Gurnee Mass for Lawrence E. "Larry" Remillard, 88, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Hunt Club and Gages Lake Road, Gurnee. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Born June 14, 1917, in Lake Linden, Mich. to Alec and Elizabeth Remillard, he passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Westmoreland Nursing Home in Lake Forest, Ill. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and retired in the early 1980's from ITT Harper Company in Morton Grove, Ill., where he had been a machinist. Larry, along with his wife, Catherine (nee Elfering), enjoyed traveling and coast to coast camping before and after retirement. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, their Friendship Circle and the Knights of Columbus as well as the Gurnee American Legion. Larry loved photography and will always by remembered as having a ready smile and wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Ronald) Dunakin of Lake Villa; and his two grandchildren, Dean Dunakin of Chicago and Amanda (Kevin) Schmitt of Clearwater, Fla. JOHN TOBIN RENAUD, age 46, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Houston, Texas on Saturday, August 13, 2005. He was born in Yoakum, Texas to Mr. & Mrs. M. W. Renaud on September 12, 1958. He attended O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a degree in Marketing. Earlier in his life he was employed by Stewart Title Company and for many years has worked as an independent petroleum Landman. Mr. Renaud was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur J. Renaud, Mr. Ralph A. Mobley and Mrs. Ruby Hollan Nickel; uncles, Arthur J. Renaud, Jr., and Jerry Hollan Mobley; aunt, Jane Renaud Chapman; and father-in-law, Mr. Aubrey Dexter Lyon. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth and their daughter Susan Elizabeth; his parents; brother, Michael W. Renaud; mother-in-law, A. Arthur J. Samson, 93, of Manchester passed away August 11, 2005 after celebrating a long, successful and much enjoyed lifetime. He was born on March 13, 1912 in Manchester the son of Emile and Louisiana (Rene) Samson. A WWII US Navy Veteran and survivor of the Battle of Midway, he attained the enlisted rank of Chief Petty Officer and served his country in the military for over 20 years in both the US Army and Navy. Mr. Samson was an independent entrepreneur who had many careers including shipwrights carpenter, general contractor, insurance broker and commercial real estate developer. Arthur is survived by his 4 children: John of Newark, Delaware; Judi Farr of Manchester, NH; Joseph of Barrington, NH and Joan Gross of Athol, MA. as well as a sister Theresa Weed of Anaheim, CA a brother Robert of Hooksett and his sister-in-law Jackie Samson of Hooksett. He will also be missed by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A private burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery at 11:30 AM, Friday, August 12th where Arthur will be laid to rest along the side of his wife Beverly Bates Samson. A Catholic Mass will be held in his memory on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Holy Rosary Church, Hooksett at 4:00 PM. Donations in his name to the Precious Blood Monastery in Manchester will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.

Alan Christopher St. Pierre Jr. passed away on August 8, 2005 in Minden, NV, at the young age of 23. He was born on September 27, 1981 in Fullerton, CA. Chris was a resident of Ontario most of his life and most recently resided in Claremont. He attended Ontario High School and graduated in 2000 from Rancho Cucamonga High School. He also attended Cal State Fullerton, where he majored in business. Chris owned Upgrade Motorsports in Upland. Since he was a natural salesman and loved cars, he enjoyed his job very much. He enjoyed going to the river and "just chillin'." Chris enjoyed dirt bike riding, knee boarding and other sports. His smile and charm will be missed by all those who knew him. His dogs, Killer and Taquito will miss him very much. Chris is survived by his father and step-mother, Alan St. Pierre Sr. and Martha St. Pierre of Ontario; his mother, Debi Wasser of Coleville, CA; brothers, Troy St. Perrre, Matthew Wasser and Ryan Wasser of Coleville, CA; sister, Alexandria St. Pierre of Ontario; and his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. Il laisse dans le deuil ses 4 filles: Cécile (Marcel Lorrain), Délima, Patricia (André Henry) et Suzanne (Pierre Pichette); ses 3 soeurs: Georgette (feu Adélard Bond), Florence (feu Albert Beaudry) et Juliette; ses 2 frères: Georges (Gilberte Levermieux) et Alfred (feu Marie Guibord); 12 petits-enfants, 9 arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. L'ont prédécédé: son fils Paul-Émile; ses 3 trois frères: Albert, Lionel (Lucille Sabourin) et Edouard (Jeannette Nadon). Il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. Le service religieux aura lieu en présence des cendres en l'église Jean XXIII, 1194, boul. St-René O., Gatineau, le jeudi 18 août à 11h. La famille recevra les condoléances à l'église à compter de 10h30. Des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient appréciés. À l'Hôpital général de Sorel, le 4 août 2005, est décédée à l'âge de 90 ans, Mme Blanche Bibeau, épouse de feu Ferdinand Méthot, demeurant à Saint-Aimé. Mme Blanche Bibeau Méthot laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Jeannine, Ulysse (Noëlla St-Germain), Richard (Huguette Guimond), Jeanne-d'Arc (Réal Lefebvre) Jean-Claude (Ginette Lemieux), Roger (Françoise Vincent), Claudette (Claude Carbonneau), Diane, Gilles (Estelle Dionne) et André (Diane Michon); quatorze petits-enfants et neuf arrière-petits-enfants; ses frères et sœurs: feue Yvonne (feu Hervé Cartier), feu Raoul (Laurianne Méthot), Elphège (Fernande Beaucage), Adrienne (Léo Boisselle), Arthur-Aimé (Marie-Paule Champagne), Bernard (feue Lucienne Lampron), Rose-Aimée (feu Léo Dupré), Fernand (Pierrette Campbell), Hervé (Pauline Ouellet); ses beaux-frères et belles-sœurs de la famille Méthot, ainsi que ses neveux et nièces. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le mardi 9 juillet, à 14 heures, en l'église de Saint-Aimé, suivies de l'inhumation au cimetière de Saint-Aimé. Direction funéraire: S.
