Brian Dale Noiles 1957-2005 SACKVILLE, NB - Brian Dale Noiles, age 48, of Sackville, NB, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2005 at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in Sackville, NB, on July 18, 1957, he was the son of Chester and Audrey (Phinney) Noiles. Brian was a former employee of CN, where he worked as a laborer and in later years was employed with Fawcett Foundry as a welder. He loved sports and played slo-pitch baseball until he was unable to continue due to his health. Brian then became the co-ordinator and organizer of the Sackville Slo-Pitch League, of which he was also the Past-President. Brian will be sadly missed by his parents, Chester and Audrey (Phinney) Noiles of Sackville, NB; daughter, Brianne Noiles and son, Christopher Noiles, both of Moncton; two sisters, Marlene (Jim) Edmonds, Karen (Henri) Leger and brother Randy Noiles, all of Sackville, NB; sister-in-law, Connie Noiles of Sackville, NB; several nieces and nephews; one great-nephew; two great-nieces and many aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Noiles in 1997. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Campbell's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 3 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Vernon Vickruck officiating. Burial will follow in the Midgic Cemetery. She was active for many years at the Sussex Golf and Curling Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Lillian is survived by her husband, of 57 years, James "Joe" Morton of Sussex; sons, Richard (Diane) Morton of Riverview and Wayne (Ellen) Reeder of Cornelius, Oregon; sisters, Mildred Trueman of Hampton, Helen O'Blenis of Salisbury and Marjorie Matthews of Kelowna, BC; brothers, Fred (Sylvia) Stiles of St. Albert, AB and Bob (Mae) Stiles of Pembroke, ON; grandchildren, Andy and Scott Reeder, Carolyn McNaughton, Alex, Ian and Craig Morton; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. WHITE, GWENDOLYN The death of Gwendolyn White, wife of Robert "Bub" White, of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Napadogan, NB, occurred on August 9, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Napadogan, NB on May 21, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Delvina (Fournier) Dalton. Gwendolyn was a member of the CWL in Stanley, and of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Branch # 67. She was an avid cook, who never let anyone leave the house without having something to eat. Her greatest joy was her four grandchildren. Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by two sons, Robert "Sonny" White of Fredericton, NB and Eric White (Gayle) of New Maryland, NB; one daughter, Cindy Manzer (Fraser) of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren, Erika Creally (Jason) of Ottawa, ON, Jason White of New Maryland, NB, Holly and Justin Manzer of Fredericton, NB; one sister, Audrey Sansom of Moncton, NB; sister-in-law, Betty Dalton of Doaktown, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by an infant daughter, Carolyn; two brothers, Cleo and Byron; and two sisters, Marjorie Comeau and Katherine Richard. HAWKES, DORIS - After a lengthy illness, on August 8, 2005 in her 84th year. Doris was the daughter of the Late Bill and Jean Oliver. Dear wife of the Late Howard Hawkes (1998). Loving mother of Ralph (Pat) of Hartland, NB; Douglas (Janis) of Saint John, NB; and stepdaughter Donna Reid of Moncton, NB. McAULEY, ELIZABETH (LILLY) - On August 8th 2005 a soul sailed from this world on a soft summer breeze: sparkling blue Irish eyes closed for a final and welcomed sleep as Elizabeth (Lilly) McAuley submitted to the warm embrace of her Maker. Lilly took her leave this date, after a valiant and determined struggle with cancer. This gracious woman fought hard and maintained her inner beauty, her dignity and her quick Irish humor. She continued to express her love of people and her zest for life, even during moments of pain and despair. Born Elizabeth Caldwell, in Belfast, Northern Ireland to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Gill) Caldwell she preferred to be called "Lilly". Husband Murray McAuley who stayed with her every step of this difficult battle. Also she is survived by her brother Henry Caldwell (Saint John) and her sister Valerie Wenham (Bernie and family), in Australia. Lilly leaves two beautiful sons Gary Ramswell (Tammy) and Keith Rutherford (Scotland). One grandson Josh Ramswell (Ireland). She leaves behind also Ann Caldwell, niece Shannon and infant grandniece Lauren Elizabeth Anne Mallory (Saint John). She is predeceased by her infant daughter Laurie (Ireland). She also leaves behind her favorite cat Spike. Sail high on that summer breeze. REED, HELEN BLANCHE - Of 77 McGraw Rd. Bains Corner, NB. Passed away on Monday, August 8th, 2005 at her residence. Born in Saint John, NB, on May 22nd, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Calvie (Tebo) Craft. Helen was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1977, a daughter Calvie in 1996, one sister Alfreda (Lawson) and a brother William Craft. Helen was a devoted partner to John Hennessey. Devoted mother to son William (Sandra), daughter Alfreda (Vincent) Tufts and son-in-law David O'Brien. Wilfred Donald McPherson On Monday, August 8, 2005, Wilfred Donald McPherson passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital. He was 98 years old. Wilf was predeceased by: his wife, Doris McPherson (nee Dalton); his three older brothers, Bill, Gordon and Gerald; and his sisters, Kay Duckworth and Inez (in infancy). He is survived by: his sister, Mary Mansell of Calgary; his brother, Doug, and wife, Peggy, of Bournemouth, England; his sisters-in-law, Kay Dalton of Winnipeg and Betty Dalton of Toronto; and brother-in-law, Harry Duckworth of Winnipeg. He is also survived by: his daughter Grace Louise Proven and husband, Donald, of Winnipeg; their children, Heather McKennitt, Diane Williamson, John Proven, Tanis Haggerty and their spouses; his son Donald and wife, Gayle, of Toronto, Ontario; their children, Lauren Corbett, Brent McPherson, Blair McPherson and their spouses; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilf was an avid sports fan with real zest for life! His strong spiritual beliefs, ethical values and uncompromising principles guided him through life and made him a role model for the many whose lives he touched. L. Arden McMaster July 21, 1937 - August 10, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully on August 10, 2005 Arden passed away at the Grace Hospital. Arden is survived by his loving wife Doreen E. McMaster, daughter Jacqueline D. Anderson her husband Norman Anderson and grandchildren Alexander and Robyn Anderson, son Jeffery L. McMaster and his wife Judy C. McMaster. Arden was born on July 21, 1937. He was born in Winnipeg and has resided in Winnipeg, Brandon, Saskatoon, Toronto, Flin Flon, N. Delta, Victoria, Mesa Arizona and Winnipeg Beach. He was the founding partner of Christianson McMaster Adjusters. Arden was the President of the Canadian Independent Adjusters Assoc., (Manitoba Region) for 1986 and 1987 and designated a Charter Loss Adjuster in 1988. He became a lifetime member to the Honorable Order of Blue Goose International in 2002. He was Kinsman of the year in 1972 in Delta, B.C., also awarded Outstanding Presidents’ Award in 1977-78 and Outstanding Leadership Award from the Kinsmen Club of St. James Assiniboia. Arden enjoyed many hobbies that included, traveling, hunting, fishing, bridge, music, playing piano and golfing. He aced a hole in one at Sunland Village East, in Mesa Arizona. His Favorite role was being a beloved “Pop” to his Robyn and Alexander. Arden was known for conversation and good humor, quick with a joke or a story. His wit and interest in people made many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 13, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with officiating clergy Major Gordon Jarvis presiding. Lillian Glowachuk July 09, 1928 - August 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully, surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. Lillian was the youngest daughter of Anne and Paul Brown of Balmoral, MB. She grew up on a farm and always wanted to return to one. She was the sunshine of our family. Lillian spent her life caring for her family and for the last six years she had her granddaughter Amanda and her precious great grandchildren Caitlin and Andrew residing with her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Always putting others ahead of herself. The last months of her life she was surrounded by her family. We spent day after day laughing, crying and reminiscing about life, love and the future. She took the time talking about family with her niece Cheryle (Charlie’s daughter) including 2 years babysitting for her two children Peter and Liza. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Heather (Wayne), granddaughter Amanda and great grandchildren Caitlin Kathleen and Andrew Corbet; her son David (Tracy) and her much loved siblings Lena, Louise, Bernice, Dorothy and brother Cliff. She was predeceased by her husband Paul (1982), her much loved son-in-law Raymond (2003), her parents Paul (1957) and Anne (1979). Her siblings Elsie (1975), Ernie (1997), Albert (1943), Ed (1966), Charlie (1977), Bill (1984), Addie (2001) and Paul (1988). For many years Lillian, Paul and their daughter traveled on weekends to small town rodeo’s and horse shows with one of their highlights being the Arabian Horse Show in Carmen, MB. She was an avid horse and dog lover, leaving pets Muffin (dog) and Snowball (cat).

Hilda Foster of Amherst passed away on Monday, August 8, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Robert and Elizabeth Ann (Smith) Bannister. Hilda enjoyed gardening and was an expert on growing flowers and vegetables. She loved all animals especially her cats and had a passion for doing crossword puzzles. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Hilda is survived by three daughters Patricia Kaye of Joggins, Barbara (David) Cove of Thorndale, Ont. and Judith (Jim) Milner of Amherst, three sons Robert (Alberta) of Amherst and David and G. Michael at home, eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George and infant twin brother. Cremation has taken place. Père Louis-Nazaire) Rédemptoriste Est décédé au Pavillon St-Vallier du CSSS de Chicoutimi, le dimanche 7 août 2005, à l’âge de 88 ans, le révérend Père Louis-Nazaire Hudon, Rédemptoriste, fils de feu M. J.-Arthur Hudon et de feu Mme Hedwidge Laberge. Ordonné prêtre à Aylmer en 1946, par son excellence Mgr Alexandre Vachon, il s’adonna d’abord à la prédication des retraites fermées et paroissiales jusqu’en 1971, tout en donnant des cours de morale médicale à Montréal, Sherbrooke et Québec. Il composa alors plusieurs volumes de morale en nursing. De 1971 à 1982, il travailla en pastorale scolaire à La Commission scolaire régionale de Saguenay. En 1982, il devint l’étroit collaborateur du Père Oliva-Marie Gignac dans l’École de Vie intérieure. À la mort de ce dernier, en 1985, il devint le directeur de cette École jusqu’en 1997. Il se lança alors dans l’enseignement de la vie spirituelle. Pour aider les professeurs qui collaboraient avec lui, il compulsa les cinq volumes du cours de vie intérieure connus sous le thème du ’’trésor’’. Tout en poursuivant sa carrière apostolique, il ne cessa, pendant trente ans, de servir comme aumônier des frères Maristes du Chemin du Plateau. Tous ceux qui l’ont connu ont reconnu en lui un type ardent à défendre les intérêts de l’église, soit par la prédication, soit par des publications de toutes sortes, et chaleureux dans l’amitié. Florida Duguay l'Acadie Nouvelle - 10 août 2005 BATHURST - À l’Hôpital régional Chaleur de Bathurst, le mardi 9 août 2005, à l’âge de 82 ans, est décédée Florida Duguay, épouse de feu Hyacinthe Duguay (juillet 2003), domiciliée à la Villa Chaleur, mais autrefois d’Allardville. Née à Pont-LaFrance, elle était fille de feu André Savoie et feu Catherine Richardson. VARIN, Danielle (1955-2005) Paisiblement, à l'hôpital du Haut-Richelieu, le 2 août 2005, est décédée à l'âge de 48 ans Madame Danielle Varin. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Annie (Maxime Rougeau) et Rémi Rouleau, le père de ses enfants Richard Rouleau, sa soeur Mireille Varin (Gaetan Bollard), sa nièce Suzanne et son neveu André. Elle laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs amis de longue date qui l'ont soutenue durant cette épreuve dont Loulou Brissette, Suzanne et Louise Plamondon. Un merci particulier à Sylvie St-Pierre et Claudette Marcil, qui ont accompagné Danielle jusqu'au bout. Merci à tout le personnel du 7e Sud de l'Hôpital du Haut-Richelieu pour les bons soins prodigués. Au lieu de fleurs, un don à la Fondation canadienne des tumeurs cérébrales serait grandement apprécié. ETHEL FRANCIS CARRUTHERS It is with deepest sympathy that the family of the late Ethel Francis Carruthers announce her passing on July 30, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Man. Ethel was born Aug. 5, 1920 and was raised and educated in Chapple Municipality. She married George Albert Meyers in 1941 and lived in the Emo area for many years before settling in Atikokan with her three children in 1953. Ethel cooked at Quetico Centre, the Caland Guest House, and the Steep Rock Guest House, in addition to many restaurants and tourist camps in the Rainy River District. On March 30, 1957, Ethel married James Edwin Carruthers. Together, they built their home in Atikokan and their cabin at Factor Lake. Ethel enjoyed the outdoors . . . fishing, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. In 2000, Ethel moved to Winnipeg to be close to her daughter. Ethel is survived by her son, Don (Joyce) Meyers of Emo, and grandchildren, Pam (Marvin) Van Heyst and Richard Peri; daughter, Marion (Louie) Dufault of Winnipeg, and grandchildren, Lisa (Don) Greenberg and Brent (Lori) Dufault; daughter-in-law, Trudy Dyson of Nanaimo, B.C. and grandson, Cameron Meyers, and great-grandchildren, Jenaya and Noah Van Heyst, Aaron Greenberg, and Alexa Dufault. Also surviving is her sister, Maria Gibson, of Emo; brother, James Gibson of Atikokan; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Jim, in1987; son, Gordon in1970; grandson, Duane in 2003; parents, John and Maria Gibson; four sisters, Agnes Meyers, Mina Meyers, Beatrice Sullivan, and Margaret Gibson and three brothers, Wilfred, Norman, and Harold Gibson. Cremation has taken place, with a graveside service conducted at the Little Falls Cemetery in Atikokan, on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005. In memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

WALTER PETERS A much-loved father and grandfather, Walter Peters, 95, of Rainy River, Ont., passed away Monday July 25, 2005 at the Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River. Walter was born Feb. 5, 1910 in Rainy River to Carl and Anna Peters. The family moved to Blue Township when he was just an infant, where he resided until moving back to Rainy River in recent years due to health problems. In 1935, he was united in marriage to Winifred Ann Tobin and together they settled on his newly-purchased farm. Walter was involved in the founding of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Blue Township and served there as minister for many years. He also was involved with the Sunday School and youth groups. Many local residents remember fondly their time with him. Walter also was one of the founding members of the Gideon Bible Society in Rainy River District. After retiring, he worked on the farm, turning the house and barn into a “museum” and chapel where many people stopped to visit. He loved music, and played many instruments. Walter also enjoyed visiting with friends and family, and was always encouraging to others. He was predeceased by his wife, Winifred on May 20, 1980; brothers, Henry, Carl, Alfred, and William (in infancy). Walter leaves behind his children, Gordon (Cathy) of Emo, Ont., Edith (Peter) Tarling of Parry Sound, Ont., Willard (Enid) of Sleeman, Ont., Phillip (Rosella) of Red Deer, Alta., and Alvin (Leslie) of Winnipeg, Man.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Friday, July 29, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Rainy River, with Pastors Gord Armstrong and Mark Mast officiating. Monty Svinsky (cousin of Walter) played the prelude to the service. Willie and Rhoda Longenecker, some of his favourite singers, honoured him in song. The pallbearers were his grandsons, Derek Tarling, Gordon, Keith, Dean, Gary, David Craig, Steven, and Calvin Peters. The honourary pallbearers were his grandchildren-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who formed an honour guard for him after the service and at the grave site. Family members came from as far as Houston, Tex., British Columbia, and Toronto, Ont. Internment took place in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River. It was requested that in lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations be given to the “building Fund” of the Rainy River Evangelical Covenant Church or the Gideon’s.

SHIRLEY MAE BROWN Shirley Mae Brown (nee Breckon) passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Shirley was born in Fort Frances, Ont., the youngest daughter of Gordon and Inez Breckon. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Alvin Leslie Brown; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Grace Cyr; sister, Doreen Geary; and brothers-in-law, William Makarenko and Jim Witherspoon. Shirley is survived by her children and grandchildren, Donna Mae Brown-Hebert (Vanessa and Angela) of Ottawa, Ont., Debbie Lyne Brown (Brandi and William) of Medicine Hat, Alta., Darlene Grace (Pat) Desorcy and Jennifer, and Douglas Gordon Brown (Carol) and children, Jackson and Sarah, of Kenora, Ont., and Darcy Jane Rudolph (Leslie and Jenna) of Fort Frances, Ont. She also is survived by her sister, Lois Makarenko-Witherspoon; uncles and aunts, Bud and Mabel Cyr, and Jean Hoffman; brother-in-law, Earl Geary; and in-laws, Leo Brown (Alice), Douglas Brown (Edie), Stanley Brown, Wilma Redford (Ron), and Shirley Brown, all of Fort Frances, Ont. Shirley received her education at Robert Moore School and Fort Frances High School. She was a graduate of the Hairdressing School of Beauty in Winnipeg, Man. Upon her completion, Shirley was employed for a number of years at the “Denisalon” in Fort Frances under the ownership of the late Dennis Watt, who remained a dedicated friend throughout the years. Shirley was a confirmed member of Knox United Church in Fort Frances. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Mr. Jack Cameron will officiate, with graveside prayers and interment beside her late husband, Alvin, in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances. Pallbearers will be Leslie Rudolph, Art Rudolph, Ryan Flamand, Joshua Flamand, and Harvey Flamand. Should friends so desire, tributes may be made to the Knox United Church Memorial Fund, 340 Church St., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 1E1. The family wishes to thank the staff at Rainycrest for making Shirley’s last days peaceful. “Mother-Sister-Friend is another word for LOVE.”

GLADYS ELIZABETH DESSERRE Gladys Elizabeth Desserre, 77, of Emo, Ont., passed away at her residence on Monday, Aug. 1, 2005. Gladys was born June 23, 1928 in La Vallee, Ont. to the late Norman and Christine Steele. In her early years, she enjoyed crocheting and she had worked at various tourist camps in the district. She was a very good singer, and enjoyed playing her guitar, singing, and country music. She also loved having people visit her and her door was always open to anyone, anytime. She was very fond of her cat, “Puss,” will miss her very much. Gladys is survived by her children, Carol Smith (Bob Pollard) of Fort Frances, Ont., Larry Neilson (Linda) of Calgary, Alta., and Terry Nielson (Dorothy) of Dryden, Ont. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Cindy, Owen, Andrea, Kevin, Barry, Daryl, and Kari; two great-grandchildren, Saphia and Senad; two sisters, Jean Hayes (Wes) and Laverne Desserre (Ken); one brother, Bill Steele; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice, of 36 years; four brothers, Don, Sonny, Garry, and Bob; two sisters, Lyla and Peggy; and grandson, Dale. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Emo, Ont. Rev. Eileen Bragg officiated, with interment in the Pineridge Cemetery in North Branch, Ont. The pallbearers were Pat Steele, Brian Neilson, Kenny Desserre Jr., Travis Wolframe, Allan McKay, and Dean Woolsley. The honourary pallbearers were her grandsons, Daryl Nielson, Barry Nielson, Owen Smith, and Kevin Neilson. BLAINE WHITE It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Blaine White, with his family by his side, at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ont. We are thankful for the two short months—from June 9 when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer until his death on Aug. 7, 2005—that we had to spend with him and that he had to share his faith with his numerous visitors. He and his family have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from family, the Lakeside Baptist church family, friends, and hospital staff. Blaine was born Oct. 25, 1955 in Fort Frances, Ont. and raised there. After graduating from Fort Frances High School, he attended the University of Winnipeg and Red River College in Winnipeg, Man., obtaining a degree in Electronic Technology. He was hired by the pulp and paper mill in Kenora, where he worked for his entire career. Blaine considered himself very fortunate to be able to live in Kenora. He loved the outdoors and sports were a big part of his life. He was passionate about playing golf and hockey. He also was actively involved in coaching many teams that his children played on. Blaine loved his family. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Beth, and his three children, Jennifer (Tyler Mostow), Breanne, and Tyler. He also leaves to mourn his mother, Elaine (Tom) Kiddle; brothers, Randy (Diane) and Doug; and sisters, Cindy (Dale) Mounk, Kelly (Dan) Boehmer, and Barbie (Warren) McMillen. Blaine was predeceased by his father, Arthur White. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held at Knox United Church in Kenora, on Friday, Aug. 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. Blaine wanted anyone who attended to feel free to dress casually. “Blaine, you’re the greatest!”

BROWN, Leonard Mark Passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, August 8, 2005 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Freda, for 58 years. Loving father of Richard and Dawn. Proud grandfather of Stephanie and Kimberley. Dear brother of Charlie Brown and Margaret Tuff. Born in Ramea, Newfoundland, son of Wesley Brown and Annie Way. Len joined the RCAF in 1942 and attained the rank of Flying Officer. He graduated from McGill in 1951 with a civil engineering degree and went on to form several Newfoundland construction companies, most notably Seabord and Beta. His work included St. John's City Hall, the Memorial University Marine Lab and the Health Science Centre. Special thanks to the palliative care nurses from At Home Hospice. Friends are invited to join the family for a Graveside Service at Capital Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. with a reception following at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3000 Woodroffe Avenue. McGILL, Stanley Mallett B.A. (H) Suddenly at home on Tuesday, August 2, 2005, age 83. Born March 5, 1922 in London, Ontario. Stanley served during WW II in the R.C.N. as a Chief Petty Officer. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario and joined the glass industry where he worked as a salesman in Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley area. He joined Algonquin College (E.O.I.T.) in 1963 and worked until his retirement as a teacher and Department Head in Marketing and Management in the School of Business. Stan was an avid golfer, having achieved 8 holes in one! He was Chairman of the O.D.G.A., Chairman and President of the O.V.G.A. Chairman of the Juniors Programme of the Q.G.A., a member of the Board of Directors of the Q.G.A. and also was a Governor of the R.C.G.A. Husband of the late Marjorie Corrigan. Father of Beverley (Garth Taylor), Marilyn (Alan Kuttner) and Bruce (Mary). Cherished grandfather to Leanne, Gregory, Sean, David, Jeffrey and James. Predeceased by brothers Jack, Jim, Gordon and Don and sisters Betty and Helen. Survived by sisters Marjorie Cusack and Ruth Blackwell of London, Ontario. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, August 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, August 17 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow. JOHNSON, Dr. Albert Edward (Ted) (Born in Hamilton) 1912 - 2005 After a full and rewarding life in Oshawa, Ted passed away at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late May Regan. Dearly loved father of Carolyn and her husband Bob Crowson (Kingston) and Bob and his wife Jane Johnson (Oshawa). Devoted Papa to Geoff, Marney and Shelley Crowson and Damien and Bretton Johnson. Papa will be sadly missed by his great granddaughters Holly and Emily Crowson and the whole Johnson family (77 club). By his example, Ted taught our family to love life, take a keen interest in history and to value friendships old and new. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Oshawa (65 years), member of the Oshawa Golf Club for over 50 years and proud volunteer of Camp X, the Wedgewood Club and the Lung Ass ociation. Above all, Ted will be remembered for his dedication to optometry where he cared for families in Oshawa for over 60 years. LUNENBURG— Beatrice M. “Bea” (Allain) Proctor, of 353 Lancaster Ave., died Tuesday, Aug. 9, in her home. She leaves her husband, with whom she recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, William R. Proctor, Sr., of Lunenburg; a son, Daniel C. Proctor of Lunenburg; a daughter, Dawn E. Johnson of Lunenburg; a sister, Cecilia Bastarache of Gardner; 11 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by two sons, Thomas I. Proctor and William R. Proctor, Jr.; a daughter, Judith A. Glow; a grandson, William R. Proctor, III; and two sisters, Anita Stacy and Viola Allain. Mrs. Proctor was born in Gardner on Dec. 3, 1933 a daughter of the late Cyrius and Viola (Bourgeois) Allain. She graduated from the Holy Rosary Elementary School in 1947 and Gardner High School in 1951. She has lived in Lunenburg since 1955. Mrs. Proctor was a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, William R. Proctor Inc., for several years before her retirement. Prior to that, she worked at the 1st Safety Fund Bank in Fitchburg and before that she worked at Gardner Trust. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish and served on their Women’s Guild. She was a former volunteer at the Fitchburg Center for Brain Injured Children and the Leominster Hospital Gift Shop. She served on the Principal’s Advisory Council at Lunenburg High School. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, trips to Plum Island and Mohegan Sun and spending time with her grandchildren at the family’s camp on Highland Lake in NH. The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Ave. Burial will be in the South Cemetery. Roland Bourque -- Every Level Roland Lionel Bourque, a local Ontario resident, died Tuesday morning, August 2, 2005 after a short illness. He was 82. Roland was an active member of his church choir. He became ill shortly after his return from performing with Windsong at Carnegie Hall. He was a man respected, and had soft-spoken elegance. He was especially noted for his integrity. Roland grew up in New Hampshire and lived his childhood and youth in Manchester. Roland was an upstanding young man with a character of steel. Directly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Roland enlisted in the United States Army. He ended up with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Du ring this time, Roland worked on his musical talent which remained a crucial part of his life and the lives of his family, especially, his son, Dennis. After World War II, Roland moved out to Southern California. He spent many years working for Lockheed on various projects. One of such projects was his work on the flight recorder that went up on the Apollo 11 mission that went to the moon. In his spare time, Roland enjoyed being one of the pioneers of the sport of bodybuilding, which influenced his ol dest son to take up bodybuilding. Roland later spent a great deal of time in real estate where he met his wife, Judith, an administrative law judge. Over the years, they have been very involved in their church and their choir, in addition to their singing with Windsong. Roland was truly a mentor in his grandsons' lives and did nothing but direct them and encourage them to set monumeental goals. All who knew him have been lucky to have witnessed such a beautiful life. "Your whole family will miss you, Govvy." In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald and Dennis Bourque; two grandsons, Ryan and Matthew Bourque; his step-sons, Robert and Joseph Taylor; and his step-grandchildren, Stephen, Spencer, Nicholas and Tyler. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 11, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Draper Mortuary. Services will be Friday, August 12, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, Ontario. PETOSKEY - Rosalie J. Duffiney, 77, of Cheboygan, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2005 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.A resident of the area her entire life, Rosalie was born April 10, 1928 in River Rouge, Mich., the daughter of William and Eva (Charboneau) Boyea. On Sept. 1, 1945 in Cheboygan, she married Marshall Duffiney, who preceded her in death in 1989. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as the chief cook at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital for 18 years. She also was an avid reader.Surviving are three daughters, Marsha Burcham of Cheboygan, Adelaide (Walter) Morris of Centerline, Mich., and Gail (Vernon) Bryant of Cheboygan; a son, Kevin Duffiney of Centerline; two sisters, Jeanette Dickman of Metamora, Mich., and Marie Lanoo of St. Ignace; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a son David in 1974.There will a gathering of friends and family at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 10. 2005, at City Beach on Huron Street in Cheboygan.The Christian Funeral Home of Cheboygan is assisting the family with the arrangements.

BOFFI, ELLEN R. (CABANA) 93, of Deerfield Dr., died Monday at Philip Hulitar Home and Hospice Inpatient Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph Boffi. A daughter of the late Thomas and Ellen (Goss) Cabana, she had been a Warwick resident for the past 43 years. Mrs. Boffi was employed in the housekeeping department for the Order of the Eastern Star Home for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of Sts. Rose & Clement Parish. Mrs. Boffi is survived by her sister-in-law Mary R. Boffi of Warwick, nephews, Thomas A. Cabana, Jr. of Johnston and Kenneth Cabana of Cranston, niece Judith Timms of South Carolina and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas A. Cabana, Sr., Henry Cabana, and Blanche Wade.Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Main Ave. at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
