FRANKLIN - Leopold C. "Paul" Pouliot, 91, of West Bow Street, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Franklin Regional Hospital in Franklin. He was born in Franklin on Oct. 26, 1913, the son of Joseph and Olivine (Fredette) Pouliot. Mr. Pouliot was a lifelong Franklin resident and attended Franklin schools. Mr. Pouliot was one of 10 siblings. Several years ago, Paul was employed at the Sulloway Hosiery Mill as a full fashion knitter. He later worked at The JP Stevens Co. in Franklin and Barbary Mills in Lakeport. Mr. Pouliot was a routeman for Table Talk Pies and lastly worked at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton for several years before retiring in the mid-'80s. He was a member and former president of the State Employees Union Local and was a member of the State Employees Association. A life member of the Fr. AJ Timon Knights of Columbus Council, Mr. Pouliot was also a communicant of St. Paul Church. Paul was an avid gardener and enjoyed walking and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed following many sports teams. Family members include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Gilbette (Beaupre) Pouliot of Franklin; five children, Pauline L. LaPlante of Franklin, Richard A. Pouliot of Virginia Beach, Va., Linda Daniels of Tilton, Brenda Froton of Allenstown and Jerry Pouliot of Epsom; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, August Pouliot of Franklin; two sisters, Hilda Boisclair and Irene LaBraney, both of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy Ann Jeansonne Stevens, born in New Orleans, LA, April 13, 1954, died at her home in Plaquemine, LA on Monday, May 23, 2005. She was a graduate of St. Scholastica Academy, Nicholls State University and the Academic Language Therapy Association where she was certified as an Academic Language Therapist. A former teacher at Plaquemine Elementary, St. John Elementary, and Lukeville Elementary, she taught in the Language Science Lab for Dyslexic students at Redemptorist High School for the past ten years. Survived by husband of 28 years, Kevin James Stevens; daughter, Madelyn Ann Stevens; son, Ryan Stevens, son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Michelle Ziegler Stevens; grandson, Andrew Joseph Stevens; father, Joseph H. Jeansonne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Glenda Jeansonne, Larry and Millie Sheppard, brothers-in-law, Ronald Stevens and wife Jan, Eugene Stevens, Jr. and wife Patty; nieces and nephews: Meg and Ronald Stevens, Haley, Brian and Eugene Paul Stevens III, Tammy, Mandy and Jeremy Jeansonne, Scott, Paige, Sandy, Sharon and Larry Sheppard, Jr., Rena, Mike, Mark, Matt and Mary Strommer. ORMOND BEACH, FL - Maurice Brodeur, Sr., 75, of Ormond Beach, Florida, and formerly of Springfield, MA, died May 16, 2005 at home. He was born in Springfield on November 27, 1929 of the late Eugene and Eva (Martin) Brodeur, and graduated from Cathedral High School. He had started Brodeur Fence Company in 1952, and owned it until he retired in 1985. Mr. Brodeur is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie (Carignan) Brodeur of Ormond Beach, FL; a son, Maurice Brodeur, Jr. of Feeding Hills, MA, and two daughters, Diane Graham of Owings, Maryland, and Patricia Condercuri of Port Orange, Florida. A daughter, Debbie Foley predeceased him in 1996. He is also survived by six grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Eugene Brodeur of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Jean Brodeur of Stuart, Florida. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. NEW BEDFORD -- Agnes (Almeida) Richard, 77, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Victor J. Richard. A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Cordeiro) Almeida. She was a communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese's Church. Survivors include a son, Dave J. Richard and his wife, Donna M., of Dartmouth; a daughter, Shirley Cornell of New Bedford; two brothers, Joseph F. Almeida of Florida and James F. Almeida of Las Vegas; two sisters, Laura Frances and Linda Almeida, both of New Bedford; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Rose Ashley, Mary Pacheco and John F. Almeida. Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph-St. Therese's Church. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery. Vedrines was born March 14, 1924 to Richard and Ethel Broussard Vedrines. He was a 1942 graduate of St. Peter's College. He then served four years in the military, (one year in the U.S. Naval Air Corp and three years U.S. Army Air Corp). After his military years, he attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute where he received his B.A. in 1952 with certification to teach Industrial Arts, Social Studies, Vocational Trade and Industries and other courses.In 1952, he began what would be a lifelong career as an educator with the Iberia, Vermilion and Lafayette Parish School Boards, primarily teaching Industrial Arts. He also taught at the Lafayette Vocational Center as a Trade and Industry Cooperative Teacher; at the University of Southwestern in the Industrial and Technical Education Dept., and at Delta Schools as Director of Delta School of Welding. He was most recently employed with the city of New Iberia as the Building and Zoning Official. Outside of his teaching career, Mr. Vedrine owned and operated Vedrines Sporting Goods and was a part-time flight instructor and charter pilot. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and wood crafts in his free time.Professionally, he was a member of the Louisiana Teachers Assoc., LA Industrial Arts Assoc., LA Vocational Assoc., American Industrial Arts Assoc., American Vocational Assoc., and in 1970 and 1971, elected as President of the Louisiana Industrial Arts Association.He is survived by his wife, Shirley Buteaux Vedrines; children, Chris Vedrines and wife Cheryl, Gregory Tiffin and wife Bonnie, Laura Vedrinee, Jane McClean and husband Eddie all of New Iberia, and Ted Vedrines and wife Emma of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, Allison, Hannah, Tiffani, Wyatt, Adley, Isabelle, Cole, Michael, Katherine and Adam; four great-grandchildren, Vallery, Ethan, Makayla and Makynli; and a sister, Joyce Voorhies of New Iberia.Mr. Vedrines was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Ray Vedrines, first wife, Anna Autin Vedrines; parents, Richard and Ethel Broussard Vedrines and a sister, Bettye Marse.Pallbearers will be Michael Luzier, Eddie McLean, David, Walter, Paul and Richard Voorhies.Honorary pallbearers will be Don Doucet, Judge Robert Segura, Dr. G.D. Beloved daughter of the late Robert and Nina Patterson and wife of the late H. Gerald Anderson. Dearest mother of Sheryl Aris, Elaine, John and Murray Anderson and mother-in-law of Alan Aris and Reena Anderson. Cherished "Nannie" of Sean McCaully (Jennifer), Patrick McCaully (Rachel), Tracey Aris-Michel (Ian) and Natasha and Nayan Anderson. Special great-grandmother of Matthew McCaully and Jamaal, Bryson and Sheridan Michel. Dear sister of Major L. A. Né à Beresford, il était fils de feu Boniface Louis et Hectorine (Fournier) Aubé. Outre son épouse, Diana Roy, il laisse dans le deuil un fils, Louis Aubé (Aline) de Beresford; quatre filles: Janice Roy (Ronald) de Hull, Qc, Mireille Aubé (Jean Claude Pitre) de Beresford, Huberte Blanchard (Roger) d’Ottawa, Ont. et Jacqueline Bertin (Albert Godin) de Dunlop, ainsi que huit petits-enfants, une arrière-petite-fille et plusieurs neveux et nièces. She was a member of the Marne Baptist Church and served as organist at the Canterbury Primitive Baptist Church for many years. In recent years she worshiped at St. Mark's United Church with her family. SULLIVAN, CLARENCE R. M.- On Sunday, May 22, 2005, Clarence Raymond Maurice Sullivan of Saint John, husband of Mary L. (Carter) Sullivan went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Born in Saint John, Clarence was the son of the late Raymond B. and Anna E. (Russell) Sullivan. Clarence was a faithful worshipper at St. Mary and St. Bartholomew Church. Before his retirement, Clarence was a Machinist at Irving Dry Dock for 50 years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53. Clarence and Mary looked forward to their summers at Crystal Beach Trailer Park. He will be greatly missed and will be forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Lois Margaret Fraser June 19, 1919 - May 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mrs. Lois Fraser passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 20, 2005. Born in Sydney Mines, NS on June 19, 1919. Lois graduated from Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB in 1943 and moved to Montreal where she worked as a Registered Dietician at the Royal Victorian Hospital. She met Bob in Montreal where he was studying architecture. They were married on December 28, 1948 and moved to Fort William. They enjoyed over 56 years together. Lois is lovingly remembered by her husband Bob; children Rob (Shelley Wood), Jim, Jill (David Young) and Susan (Glen Wilson); grandchildren Jennifer, Ellen, Adrienne and Alexander and grandpet Kirsi. Also loved and remembered by brothers Grant, Glace Bay, NS and Eric (Marilyn), Sydney Mines, NS; sister Gerry (Bill Mulligan), St. John’s, NB; sister-in-law Yvonne Whyte as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. DUDLEY, REV. ALTON It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Alton Trueman Dudley, age 67, surrounded by family and friends at his residence in Toronto, ON . Alton was a loving husband to his devoted wife Doris and a cherished father to Derrick, Arlene, Wendy and Jimmy as well as his six grandchildren. Alton was the second oldest son of the late James Dudley and and is survived by his mother, Amy, of McNamee. He was predeceased by one brother Allen. He leaves behind to mourn brothers Glendon (June), Waldo (Cheryl), Vaughn (Cheryl), James, sisters Shirley (Vincent), and Jenona. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention. Alton left New Brunswick at an early age and was employed as a Transport Driver, until he entered the full time ministry. He was an ordained licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International. He recently celebrated a 20 year anniversary at his present pastorate. Alton fought a very courageous battle with cancer and kept his faith even until the end. Alton was truly a faithful man of God and is now with his Lord and Savior. LITTLE, Marie Gertrude - At the North Bay General Hospital, on Friday, May 20th, 2005 at the age of 70 years. Marie Gertrude Doyle was the beloved wife of the late George Albert Little, who predeceased her in September of 2000. Dearly loved mother of Louise Blanchette and Lynn Morrison (Ross) both of North Bay, Doug Little (Tina) of Powassan and the late David Little who predeceased her this past January 2005. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Charlene, Tiffany, Paul, Melanie, Kaitlin, Heather, Cory and Brittany and her great granddaughters Paramour and Astrid. Marie was also predeceased by two grandchildren Justin Little and Cheryl Morrison as well as nine brothers and sisters. She is also survived by her brothers Mike and Harold. George and Marie were long time residents of Marten River, having moved there in 1969 when they purchased the Pineland Camp Hotel. They sold the business in 1975 and following George's death Marie moved to North Bay. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held in Trinity United Church on Sunday afternoon May 22, 2005. If desired donations to the North Bay General Hospital Renal Unit or North Bay Diabetes Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Son of the late Hilliard & Myra Tighe. Loving father to Karen & husband Luke Haight of Kingsville, and Patty & husband Rich Beauchamp of Windsor. Also surviving are grandchildren Kyle, Kelsey, Kristen, and Danielle, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dear brother to Raymond & Athabelle Tighe of Lakefield, Ontario and Jack & Dorothy Tighe of B.C. Marvin was a retiree of Chrysler Corporation after 28 years of service and also a member of C.A.W. Local 444. Visiting at the Stewart L Kennedy Funeral Home, 128 Talbot Street North, Essex, (776-7378) on Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service to be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 11:00 am. Rev. Donald Hansford officiating. Cremation to follow.
