DOUGLAS— Delphis “Del” J. Thibodeau, 90, of Franklin St. died April 1, at Almace Medical Center in Burlington, NC. He leaves his wife Ora (Proulx) Thibodeau, a son Richard D. Thibodeau of Woonsocket, RI, a daughter Debra A. O’Connell of Gibsonville, NC., a sister Jo-Ann Latendress of Douglas, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter Linda Mclean in 2003, two grandsons Richard Mclean Jr. in 1973, Joshua O’Connell in 2004 and three granddaughters Angela Mclean in 1977, Holly and Kim O’Connell in 1995, brothers Larry, Armand, George, and sisters Florence and Delia. He was a member of St. Denis Parish. He served with the Military Police during WWII. He retired from General Electric in 1977. His funeral will be held at NINE AM FRIDAY, April 8, from the Buma Funeral Home, 101 No. Main St., Uxbridge followed with a Mass at TEN am in St. Denis Church, Manchaug Rd. Douglas. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are SIX to NINE PM Thursday April 7th in the funeral home.

GALLANT - The death of Gelas J. Gallant of the Turnbull Home, husband of Irene (Cormier) Gallant, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. Mr. Gallant was born in Collette, a son of the late Cyrus and Josephine (Gallant) Gallant, and had resided in Saint John since 1942. He had been employed with Irving Oil until his retirement a number of years ago. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Cyril Gallant; and a sister, Bella Doucette. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberley Ann Collins (Carl) of Hampton, and Beverley Ann Bustard of Willow Grove; two brothers, Emile (Edna) of Rothesay, and Francis (Carol) of Vancouver; three sisters, Dora Thibodeau (Leo) of Collette, Anna Richard of Saint John, and Rena Corey (Merle) of Saint John; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning at twelve o'clock. LUDFORD, FRED DONALD (Best Looking Man in Springhill) The passing of Fred D. Ludford occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 4, 2005 at the age of 73. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of the late Harry Ernest and Helen Catherine (Powys) Ludford. Fred was a self employed contractor and land developer. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter. He is survived by his wife Lucy; four children Richard (Donna) of Mazerolle Settlement, Bryant (Nancy) of Hanwell, Debbie Poisson (Ken) of Ottawa, Ontario, Kelly Smith (Chris) of Hanwell; twelve grandchildren Sarah, Dennison, Harry, Megan, Marcie, Morgan, Miranda, Shannon, Nicole, Jocelyn, Dru, and Katelyn; one great grandchild Hailey; one sister Aulda Yerxa of Fredericton; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother Edward. At Fred's request no visitation will be held. EARL, LAWRENCE- Lawrence Earl, 89, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 5, 2005 following a period of failing health after a most remarkable life as a journalist, photographer and writer of books. Born in Saint John, his parents were Herman and Anna (Stern) Wiezel. He was a longtime resident of London, England and lived recently in Grand Bay-Westfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Armstrong Earl, his sister Gladys Davis and his brother Clint Wiezel. Mr. Earl is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. MABER, FLORENCE E. - It is with great sadness that the we announce the death of Florence Evelyn Maber of Rothesay, NB, wife of the late Donald J. Maber, occurred surrounded by her family on Monday, April 4, 2005 at her residence. Born in Chambers Settlement, Kings Co., NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Parlee) Brighton. Florence was a Real Estate Agent for several years with Central Trust. She was a member of the KV Quilting Guild, Quispamsis and Champlain Heights Bowling Leagues, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada and was a member and treasurer of the Gyrettes. She was a devoted Nana to her grandchildren and will be sadly missed be her family. She is survived by three sons, Kevin (Debbie) and Tony, both of Rothesay and Larry (Tara) of Quispamsis, two daughters, Marilyn Keating (Brian) of Sussex and Lori MacLeod (Brian) of Mooresville, NC, two sisters, Marjorie Curwin (James) of Moncton and Dorothy Wallace of Penobsquis, grandchildren Jeffrey, Thomas, Matthew and Daniel Keating, Keith and Kyle Maber, Colin Maber, Kelsey Maber and Amy and Claire MacLeod, good friend, Marion McMaster, several cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Bonnie Faith Murray LeBrun, 50, of Modesto died Monday at her home. Mrs. LeBrun was a native of Inglewood and lived in Modesto 22 years. She was a certified home health aide for 15 years with Memorial Hospital Visiting Nurse Association. She was a member of Neighborhood Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir, cooking, sewing and scrapbooking.She is survived by her husband, Malcolm LeBrun of Modesto; children, Elizabeth LeBrun, Eunice LeBrun and Esther Fletcher, all of Modesto; sisters, Clarissa Brookbank of Victorville and Colleen Murray of Sadieville, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Florence Murray; and two brothers.Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. CHICOPEE - Lucien C. "Duke" Verdon, 84, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home from his home with his loving family at his side. He began his working career as a maintenance supervisor for the former Springfield Bronze and Aluminum Company. He later worked for the former American Bosch Company in Springfield and was last employed as a general supervisor of engineering at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and retired in 1986. Following his retirement, he worked with his daughter and his beloved wife at Cecile's Gift Boutique on Grattan Street in Aldenville and also was a driver for many of the area car dealers. He was born in Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada on June 24, 1920, a beloved son of the late Isaïe and Clarinda (Mailhot) Verdon. His family moved to Holyoke where he graduated from the former Precious Blood Grammar School. He later served in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Mt. Greylock in Pittsfield. He moved to Chicopee in 1941 and moved to the Aldenville section in 1953. He was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who took great pride in his family. His beloved wife of 61 years, Cecile G. (Desroches) Verdon was Called Home on July 3, 2002. They were married at Saint Rose de Lima Church on June 28, 1941. He leaves his loving children, George L. Verdon and his wife Brigitte of Colchester, VT, Cecile C. Fournier and her husband Roger of Aldenville and Claire E. Verdon Raina and her husband Robert of Largo, FL and Stafford Springs, CT. His four cherished grandchildren, Claudine Martin and her husband Rick, George Verdon, Jr., Craig S. Fournier and his wife Lynette and Danielle C. Kemp and her husband Chad. His funeral will be held Saturday morning April 9, 2005 at 7:45 a.m. from the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street at the junction of Grattan Street in Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Saint Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street in Chicopee. His burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery on Olsen Street in Aldenville. JOE LUNDY It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our dearly loved Joe, peacefully in faith, and surrounded by his loving family, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ont. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2005. Joe Lundy of Barrie was the beloved husband of 45 years to Jeannette; and dearest father to Lisa (Joe) Cartaginese, Deanna (Bruce) Martin, and Christopher Lundy (friend, Pamela Henderson), all of Barrie. He also was the perfect Papa to his dearly-loved grandchildren, Amanda and Natalie Cartaginese, Justin and Jordan Martin, Taylor and Kailyn Lundy; and step-grandson, Kyle Martin. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Michael (Carol) Lundy of Ottawa, Ont., and Jim (Jane) Lundy of Markham, Ont., and sister, Mary (William) Walker of Markham, Ont., and their families. Remembered with love by his mother-in-law, Mary Sokil (late Harry Sokil); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Dianne; and nephew, Shane McBride; and Lorraine Lundy. He was predeceased by his infant daughters, Maria, Theresa, and Josephine; and is parents, Richard and Madeline Lundy. Joe was born in Toronto, Ont. on April 11, 1936. He joined Bell Canada in 1954 and worked in Northern Ontario for many years before he and his family moved to Orangeville and then Barrie in 1967. He was a member of the Bell Canada Pioneers and the Barrie Historical Society. After retiring in 1990, he and Jeannette travelled extensively—something they enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working at his small engine repair business, and foremost spending time with the apples of his eye—his grandchildren. Friends called at the Steckley Gooderham Funeral Home (201 Minet’s Point Road at Yonge Street) in Barrie on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass was held from St. Mary’s Church in Barrie on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at 10 a.m., with Fr. Frank McDevitt celebrating. Cremation, with inurnment to follow with his parents in Mount Hope Cemetery in Toronto.

He contributed to many commercial construction projects throughout the Maritime Provinces. Frank was a very generous man who also enjoyed spending time watching his Red Sox baseball team. He was the son of the late James and Mary (Joyce) Mackin. He is survived by his brothers Frederick (Iva Spence) and Roy (Janet Cunningham); nephews James (Holly) Mackin, Michael (Josee) Mackin; nieces Catherine (Dean) Rhyno, Kelly Mackin, Margaret (Paul) Wright; and several beloved grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Smith, and niece Mary Carolyn Mackin. ROSZEK, BOGDAN - Bathurst - Bogdan Roszek, 52, of O'Neil Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (April 4, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Dr. Kazimers Stanislaw and Dorothy (Gow) Roszek. He graduated Bathurst High School in 1969 and then attended UNB and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1976. He worked at the Federal Building, in Bathurst, since 1980. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, the former Carole Watson. One daughter: Heather Roszek of Fredericton, Mother-in-law: Athena Watson of Harvey Station, NB, Two nieces and seven nephews.
