Iréne Marguerite Poirier (1920-2005) Iréne Marguerite Poirier, 84, of Murphy Ave., Moncton, N.B., formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away at Villa Du Repos, Moncton on March 31, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born in Bouctouche, N.B. on July 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alex Nowlan and the late Marie Blanche Melanson. She was a retired housewife. She attended La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue. Iréne is survived by her husband, Gerard Poirier; her daughter, Annette Poirier of Dieppe; two sons, Raymond Poirier of Lynn, Mass, Michel Poirier of Dieppe; one brother, Albert Nowlan (Rose) of Dieppe; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Alfred; three half brothers, Antoine, Andy, Arthur; three half sisters, Eva, Nora and Anita. Hertha Kopetzky 1914 - 2005 The death of Hertha Kopetzky, 90 years, of Lakeview Manor, Riverview and formerly of 136 Cornhill Street, Moncton occurred at her residence on Friday, April 1, 2005. Born in Vienna, Austria, she was the daughter of the late Josef and Josefine Gerwig. She followed her only child Erich and his family to Canada in the early 1970's and was extremely proud when she studied and earned her Canadian Citizenship. She was a Kindergarten teacher for over 30 years in Vienna; she was a classical pianist and had a great love for music. A truly sweet, appreciative lady who loved to say "Many Thanks". She is survived by her son, Erich Kopetzky Sr. (Christa-Marie) of Vienna, Austria; grandson, Erich Kopetzky Jr. (Marie-France) of Irishtown; granddaughter, Patricia-Dominique Henwood (Scott) of Hillsborough. Two precious great granddaughters, Cassandra Kopetzky and Sophia Maria-Theresia Henwood. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Erdfried; sister Ada and a niece Sieglinde. By request there will not be any visiting hours prior to the memorial mass which will be celebrated at St Augustine's Church on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 11 am followed by interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. ROY, Bernard c.s.sp. 1933 - 2005 Le P. Bernard Roy c.s.sp., fils de Primat Roy et de Juliette Trudel, est né à La Sarre, Abitibi, le 22 février 1933. Il fait ses premiers voeux dans la Congrégation du St-Esprit le 9 septembre 1953 et est ordonné prêtre à St-André de La Sarre, le 18 juin 1960. En 1961 et 1962, il étudie l'histoire à Strasbourg (France). Il revient enseigner au collège St-Alexandre de la Gatineau. En 1968, il sera curé de Val-Paradis (Abitibi) jusqu'en 1976, tout en faisant de l'animation pastorale à la Polyvalente de La Sarre. Il part comme missionnaire au Paraguay le 5 novembre 1977 jusqu'en 1989. Il repart en mission au Mexique cette fois en mai 1991. Il en revient à cause de sa santé le 26 janvier 1993. Il devient le 27 avril 1993, supérieur de la Communauté St-Denis jusqu'à son opération d'urgence pour trois pontages coronariens, le 28 janvier 2005. Il fait une hémorragie cérébrale le jeudi Saint, 24 mars. Il est décédé le 29 mars 2005, à Montréal. Il laisse dans le deuil ses confrères spiritains, religieux et associés, ses soeurs Jeanne d'Arc Doyon, Geneviève Brosseau, Carmen Roy, Cécile Bruneau et ses frères Vincent et Raynald Roy, ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Beaverville, where she was a member. Rev. Robert Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaverville. Memorials may be made to the Restoration of St. Mary's Church. She died Thursday (March 31, 2005) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Mrs. Reynolds was a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital from 1940-1945. She was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Beaverville, the daughter of Philip and Flora Dionne Lafond. Surviving are her husband, William Reynolds, whom she married Oct. 20, 1945 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Beaverville; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Dora Reynolds of Hobart, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Douglas Summerfield of Arvada, Colo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Ellen Mae and Rex Hall of Tipton, Ind.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Viator and Joann Lafond, Kenneth and Virginia Lafond, all of Beaverville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Leonard and Romain Lafond, are deceased. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the CCW at her church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Beaverville Post 877. She enjoyed reading, baking and gardening.

OBITUARY DOROTHY GAIL NEWCOMBE Born May 17, 1935 in Montreal, Quebec, passed away with family by her side March 20, 2005, in Duncan, British Columbia, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Gail's husband William passed away on March 25, 2005. Survived by her loving family, her three sons Robert (Glennis), Dave (Elizabeth) and Gary (Nadine); grandchildren Selena, Davey, Samantha, Stacie, Erin and Caitlyn. Predeceased by her father Robert Reginald White and her mother Gertrude White (Kyle). Gail was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 108, Chateauguay, Quebec. Born in Providence, a son of the late Thomas W. and Agnes (Roach) Nichols, he lived in Warwick for 5 years, formerly residing in Providence. Mr. Nichols was a WWII Army veteran. He was the father of Chuck Nichols of Warwick, James R. Nichols of Cranston, Kenneth W. Nichols of Coventry, and Arlene F. Kennelly, Judith M. Witt and Patricia A. Brennan all of Warwick. He was the brother of William Nichols, Paul Nichols and the late Francis and George Nichols. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. Miss Denise L. Cunningham 1964 - 2005 ST. MACNEILL, ROBIN E Robin E. MacNeill, formerly of Barrie ON and recently of Fredericton NB, died peacefully at home, 60 Fairview Dr in Fredericton NB, on the 31st day of March 2005 at the age of 59, following a brief and valiant struggle with cancer. Robin was born Aug 23, 1945 in Moncton, NB and was the second son of Henry MacNeill and Hazel (Drury) MacNeill. He grew up in Ontario and graduated from high school in Thetford Mines, QC in 1964. He loved the outdoors and was very active all his life. He was predeceased by his infant son Jeffrey MacNeill. He is survived by his common-law wife Sharon Hicks of Fredericton NB, and two sons, James (MacNeill) Adams of Bathurst NB and Aaron MacNeill (Cathy) of Toronto, ON. Marion Dion , of Kapuskasing - Date of Death: March 22nd, 2005 - Marion Dion, 12 Park Cres., Kapuskasing, died at Sudbury Region Hospital St. Joseph Site on March 22, 2005. She was 69 years old. Mrs. Dion was born on Sept. 26, 1935 in Kapuskasing. She worked as a teacher’s assistant. She enjoyed knitting, cottaging, riding in the pontoon, computer classes and spending time with her grandchildren. As well she was a member of the Golden Browsers. Mrs. Dion was predeceased by her parents and one brother Robert Paterson. She is survived by her husband Raymond, son Robert (Jennifer) of Aurora, sister Barbara Morris of Kapuskasing and grandchildren Jack and Meghan Dion. Rev. TANNER, Hilda Laura (nee Woolsey) Peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2005 in her 96th year. Survived by her children Frank and Suzann, her brother Grant Woolsey (Frances), sister Elaine Simonson (Garth), 5 grandchildren, Robertson, Joseph, Simon, Conal, Kathleen and 6 great-grandchildren.
