Predeceased by brothers Bill and Reg Taylor, husband John L. Sadowsky and son Robert Sadows ky. Loving wife of Dean McLeish of Canfield and cherished mother of Bonnie (Steve) Irwin of Hamilton, Linda (Stan) Dykun of Beamsville, John (Ann) Sadowsky of St. Catharines and David (Sandy) Sadowsky of Port Colborne. Beloved grandmother of James Fl ynn, Shari and Susan Sadowsky, Patty Ward and Michael Asta and great-grandmother of Anthony, Cierra, Michael and Blaise. Pat was born in Windsor to James and Isabel Taylor. She spent her early years in Cochrane, married in Hamilton and raised her fam ily in Niagara. Anyone who met her was an instant friend. Pat is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines where her family will receive visitors on Monday, April 4th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 5th at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. BOWES, Alyce, On March 31, 2005 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 84th year. A veteran of the Canadian Women's Army Corp, Alyce served in Europe during W.W. 2. She was past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 and a former c ounsellor at Niagara College. A dedicated volunteer in many community organizations. She will be missed. HUNSE, Richard Ronald, December 3, 1957 - April 1, 2005. Rick passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 47. He will be sadly missed by his children Megan, Justine, Tyler and Mackenzie and his wife Fran. He is survived by his parents Lambert and Grace Hunse of Niagara-on-the-Lake and five brothers and sisters; Hank and Joanne Hunse (Guelph), Jessica (Beamsville), Heather and John DeBoer (Oakville), Cliff and Dorothy Hunse (Fonthill) and Monique and Thomas Schmutz (B.C .). He is also survived by eight Hunse nieces and nephews. Rick grew up in Niagara-on-the-Lake and was a grape grower there since 1979. DUNN, Lilian Bernice Passed away peacefully in Vancouver, B.C. on March 11th, 2005 at the age of 104. Lilian was born in Dorchester, N.B. and raised in Winnipeg. She moved to Ottawa after her marriage to Garnet who predeceased her in 1983. Lilian was also predeceased by her sisters, Vivien, Alice and Marion. Lilian was the head of the Red Cross in Ottawa during the Second World War and devoted many years to volunteer work. She was an accomplished pianist and a keen bridge player. Since 1999 Lilian had resided to Banfield Pavilion in Vancouver. A heartfelt thank you to Cindy Hutchings of Ottawa who took such wonderful care of Lilian while she was at Rideau Place. Also heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Imelda, "Lilian's angel" who lovingly cared for her during the six years she was at Banfield.Cremation has taken place and Lilian's ashes interned with her husband Garnet at the Columbarium at Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario. HOLLOWAY, Lloyd Woodrow December 23, 1917 - March 29, 2005 Lloyd was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Arlene (nee Fenwick). A devoted family man he is sadly missed by his four children, Judy Bunker (Tom) of Sarnia, ON, Leslie Ann Ciglen (Larry) of Trout Creek, ON, Elizabeth Friedman (Keith) of Santa Barbara, CA, Gordon Holloway (Patti) of Fredericton, NB and by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, good friends and his very special companion Verna Ellis of Perth. MATHERS, Herbert Sloane. Passed away peacefully in his home, on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in his ninety-third year. Born in Montreal on December 8, 1912 to William Mathers and Elizabeth Sloane. Beloved husband of the late Madeleine Piche. Loving father of Bev Mathers-Hall and her husband Doug Hall. Loved by his two grandchildren Tyler and Trever. Predeceased by his younger brother Bill Mathers. Survived by his two younger sisters Helen Parker and Ruth Trenholme. Uncle to Lynda Richardson, Barbara Evans, William Mathers and Robert Mathers. In Montreal, where Dad grew up, he was a member of the Monkland Tennis Club and the GT-CN Old Boys Rugby Football Association. Family and friends will miss Dad and he will always be in our hearts. BERTOIA, Lou Five years may have passed, but our memories stay with us forever. I remember everything as if it were yesterday. I remember having a dad who gave so much love and affection. I remember being your princess. I remember growing up not wanting your birthday to come because I didn't want you to get old. I remember how hard you worked and how exhausted you came home. I remember how much you enjoyed life. I remember you begging us to come boating with you so we did once, life jacket, drowning devises! I remember how crazy you thought we were "you have nothing to fear I would never let anything happen to you." I remember the day we realized we couldn't help what was happening to you. I remember searching for a cure. I remember the days when everyone thought you were sleeping and couldn't hear us and you would wink at me to let me know you heard it all! I remember the day you told me it wouldn't be long. I remember asking God to just keep you with us even in this condition. We'll take care of him - please don't take him. And then I remember realizing how unfair and selfish it was to have you with us to make us happy. I remember asking God to please take my Dad and grant him a peaceful death and not to suffer anymore...and that day God granted me my wish. Some days I wish for just one more day with you and then I realize God can't do that because He knows I would just wish for one more. I feel blessed in life to have had such a wonderful Dad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aveia LeBoeuf Creppel; his parents, Charles Creppel and Marie Dardar Creppel; four brothers, Lucian, Desire, Nicholas and James Creppel; and two sister, Ella Billiot and Edna Fabre. He was a retired pump operator with Sunset Drainage and a parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church.

NELSON, (Stella) May, 86 years. With great sorrow the family announces her passing on Sunday, March 27, 2005. Beloved wife and partner for 68 years to Harry Nelson Sr. Harry and May were married in St. John, New Brunswick on May 14th, 1937. Daughter of Sarah (nee Clark) and John Maxwell (both predeceased), and loving sister to Jim, John, Louise and Eleanor all predeceased. Always the loving couple, May and her sweetheart moved to Sudbury in 1941. They raised their family across the street from the “famous” Kingsway playground where May contributed countless hours and unfailing enthusiasm to make the playground a safe, welcoming venue for their children and for every child in the neighbourhood. Cherished mother of Harry Nelson Jr. (Darlene), Norma Lalande (Leo), Stewart Nelson, Robert Nelson (Ellen), Bill Nelson and Donald Nelson (predeceased 1963). Her grandchildren, who could do no wrong, were a real joy in her life. Loving Grammy to Gary Lalande (Sharon), David Nelson (Jennifer), Mark Nelson, Jason Nelson, Laura Nelson (Robert Hulisz), Sean Nelson, Heather Cockerline (Jason), Christopher Nelson and Crystal Crete. May was independent, resourceful and caring and she loved the company of family and friends. The special ways that made us treasure her will live on in the hearts and minds of her children and grandchildren. At May’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial Service, officiated by William Carding will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 1050 Lonsdale Avenue on Wednesday, March 30th, 2005 at 11 A.M. Doiron, domiciliée aux Résidences l’Amitié d’Évangéline, mais autrefois de Bas-Caraquet. Née le 4 juillet 1905 à Bas-Caraquet, elle était fille de feu Gelas Doiron et de feu Emilie Gionet. Elle laisse dans le deuil une fille, Rose-Aline Trépanier de Bas-Caraquet; une petite-fille, Manon (Rob MacKenzie) de Hampton; un arrière-petit-fils, Benjamin, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h, le dimanche 3 avril, au salon de l’église Saint-Paul de Bas-Caraquet. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Paul de Bas-Caraquet, le lundi 4 avril, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial, plus tard ce printemps. TUCKER, ANNE The death of Anne Tucker of Fredericton, NB, occurred on April 1st, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in England on September 2, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Tucker. Anne was a member of St. Theresa's Church. She loved being with family and friends, and enjoyed reading, laughing, singing and telling jokes. Survived by four sons; Christopher Buyting of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Robert Buyting (Karyn) of Fredericton, NB, David Buyting (Nancy) of Durham, NC and Mike Buyting of Fredericton, NB; three grandchildren, Jon, Ryan and Lauryn; three brothers, Patrick Tucker (Jeannine) of Saint John, NB, John Tucker (Doreen) of Delta, BC and David Tucker (Lorna) of Ann Arbor, Michigan; one sister Terry Bigelow of Windsor, NS; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Yeoman Tucker and her sister Angela Bilodeah. There will be no visitation by request. BURROUGHS, Huguette Suite à une vie inspirante de dévouement,de courage et de compassion, Huguette est décédée paisiblement, entourée de sa famille et d'amis, à l'hôpital d'Ottawa (Campus général), le jeudi 31 mars 2005. Elle était la chère fille d'Eugène Burroughs et d'Aurare Brabant, soeur de Charles Burroughs (Ginette) d'Ottawa et d'Yvan Burroughs de l'Orignal, tante bien-aimée de Line (Richer) et grande-tante de Samuel et de Vincent Richer, tous d'Ottawa. Huguette aimait la vie et elle appréciait les dons avec lesquels elle a été choyée et c'est avec grande sérénité et détermination qu'elle a accepté les grands défis physiques qu'elle a dû affronter. Malgré sa cécité, elle a été pendant près de 25 ans une journaliste très dévouée, produisant à elle seule toute l'édition hebdomadaire du journal communautaire francophone de sa communauté, le Journal de Cornwall. Elle avait auparavant été journaliste pour ce qui était à l'époque la radio francophone CFML. Elle était une franco-ontarienne passionnée qui était très fière de sa langue et de son patrimoine francophone. Elle s'est efforcée d'honorer et d'enrichir cet héritage. C'est dans cet esprit, qu'elle a été l'une des fondatrices de la radio francophone communautaire CHOD-FM. Elle était une membre à part entière au sein d'organisations comme la Clinique juridique Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, Hôpital communautaire de Cornwall, et les Grands frères et grandes soeurs. Ces nombreux accomplissements lui ont valu des reconnaissances au niveau provinvial et national. Elle s'est vue décerner l'Ordre de l'Ontario, le plus grand honneur que la province peut accorder, et l'Ordre des francophones d'Amérique. L'honneur d'avoir été élue au Conseil municipal de sa communauté, malgré son amputation et la nécessité de dialyse, fut le couronnement de sa carrière. Elle était tellement reconnaissante de la confiance et de l'amour que sa communauté lui accordaient. C'est également avec amour et très consciencieusement qu'elle s'est mise à la tâche. Huguette avait une foi profonde et le service funéraire sera célébré par un ami bien-aimé, le Père René Dubé, le lundi 4 avril 2005, à 14 h, à la cocathédrale de La Nativité. L'incinération suivra. LARONDE, Anne (Beneke) In loving memory of Anne (Beneke) Laronde, 73 years who passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 1st, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital (St. Joseph's Health Centre). Daughter of the late Peter and of the late Lillian (née Robertson) Beneke. She was born in Elk Lake and was raised in the Kenabeek/Kirkland Lake areas. She met and married Sylvester Laronde (predeceased 1980) in 1957, and settled in Chelmsford. Anne will always be remembered for her cheery smile and dedicated work ethic at the Chelmsford Loeb, and as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 553, Chelmsford. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her children, Paul (Lori) of Waterloo and Patty (Fred Taylor) of Azilda. Survived by seven children Douglas & Betty Armstrong, Nancy & Darrell Sparks of Iowa, Mary Armstrong & good friend Gino Conte, Bob & Debbie Armstrong, Marlene & Mike Charrette, Ruth & David Blandford and Carol Rice. Also survived by 9 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 4 great grandchildren. Donald was a member of Walkerville Baptist Church. He studied Bible College in London (1946), graduated in 1953 with his Teacher's Certificate, graduated in 1955 with his Physical & Health Education Teacher's Certificate, and taught elementary level for 10 years. He also owned & operated Armstrong Aluminum Windows, ran for Alderman in Windsor 1964-65, was an employee of Chrysler Canada, diligently studied the stock market and provided excellent financial advice and was an avid traveler around the world. ASKIN, Audrey Agnes Ann (nee Lane) 84 years. Passed away peacefully on March 31, 2005 at Leamington Mennonite Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband James Askin (2000). Loving mother of James A. Askin and wife Lesley. Dear Nana to Shelby Hager and husband Andy, James J. Askin and Christopher Askin. Great Nana to Simon Hager. Predeceased by her brother Douglas Lane. Audrey was a very active member of Church of Ascension. She was also a volunteer for many years with the Brock School Breakfast Club. FUERTH, James J. "Jim" Born December 31, 1922 and passed suddenly on Friday, April 1, 2005 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. Late of Woodslee. Jim formerly owned and operated Fuerth Transportation for over 50 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Gaughan) (1988). Loving father of Elaine Blain and Ryck, the late Fran Garon (2004) and Rick, Len and Chris, Jim and Marlene, Lou Mullins and Pat, Rose O'Neil and Walter, Ang Moysuik and Bill, Carol Lamont and Randy, Mark and Jackie, Jody Plus and Kevin, Chris and Heather and the late Danny (1971). RIVEST, David William (Jan. 1, 1964 - March 31, 2005) God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, so He closed His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest. God's Garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. And when we saw you sleeping so peacefully and free of pain, we could not wish you back, to suffer that again. David passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005 at WRHC - Met Campus with his family by his side after a brief and unexpected illness. Beloved son of the late Rosaire Rivest (2003), Veronica Rivest (1982) and step-son of Doreen Rivest (B.C.). Loving brother to and will be sadly missed by sisters Diane Rivest (B.C.), Linda Quigley (B.C.), Catherine Iles.-Peck Grondin, Annette Archibald, Evelyn Rivest, Alice and John Schneider and Irene and Gary Nowazik. He will be sadly missed by his favourite cousin Michelle Virtue and many others. David resided at Banwell Gardens in Tecumseh and was special to all who knew him. SCOTT, Brian Died March 16, 2005 in Courtenay, B.C. Brian is lovingly remembered by his wife Jessie of 36 years, son Christopher and wife Janna, daughter Kirsten and her husband Cleon and devoted grandfather to Kenna. Born in 1934 in Yorkshire, England, Brian is survived by his two younger brothers, both still living in England. Brian served with the Essex Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police from 1970-1979, he then moved to British Columbia where he made his home first in Victoria then Parksville and finally Courtenay.
