DORIS H. VIENS -- ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Doris Helen Viens, age 84, a lifelong resident of St. Albans, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at her home with her loving family at her bedside. Doris married Oliva G. Viens Dec. 4, 1948, and together they devoted their life to their farm on Maquam Shore Road. She was born in St. Albans, Oct. 13, 1920, daughter of the late Homer and Helen (Tomelette) Gaudreau. She was a lifelong communicant of Holy Angels Church; she also attended Holy Angels School. She was employed at the Sanders Drugstore and for a short time was employed in the dietary department by Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. Doris was a 53-year member of L'Union St. Jean de Baptiste Societe, always holding an office, a member of the former Holy Angels Mothers Club, a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, a 15-year 4-H Club leader with her husband, Oliva, an advisor to the Vermont Extension Service, a member of the Milk Promotion of Vermont, the Farm Bureau, a member, with her husband, of the St. Albans Co-Operative Creamery, The Holstein Association, Farmers Production Credit, Federal Land Bank Association, and always enjoyed attending the various conventions. Her first husband, Francis Guerino, was fatally injured in the Battle of the Bulge. Doris is survived by her beloved husband of over 56 years, Oliva; by her son Daniel and his wife Janet Guerino of Colchester; daughter Jacqueline and her husband Gregoire Desrochers of Norton, Mass.; her son, Gerald Viens of St. Albans; four grandchildren, Timothy and his wife Theresa Guerino, David and his wife Julie Guerino, Eric and Nicole Desrocher; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kayla Guerino; her sister, Marguerite DelVecchio of West Haven, Conn.; several cousins, including a special cousin, Claire Muldoon of Maryland, with whom she resided while growing up; nieces and nephews. She also leaves many family members and friends in both Canada and other states. Besides her parents Doris was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and James Gilbert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a. m. Tuesday in Holy Angels Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Interment will be in the Viens family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Arthur D. Hemmings November 12, 1914 - February 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Castle Funeral Home-Fallsview Chapel Hemmings, Arthur L. - husband of Helen D. Hemmings, formerly of Heritage Gardens, Saint John, NB passed away at the Turnbull Nursing Home on Thursday, February 17, 2005. Mr. Hemmings, who was in his 91st year, was born in Montreal and was predeceased by his parents William and Beatrice (Kemp) Hemmings and eight siblings as well as a daughter, Phyllis Daplyn (Paul) Brockville, ON. Mr. and Mrs. Hemmings moved to Saint John years after retiring from Enterprize Foundry Co. Ltd., where he served as Credit Manager. Maryanne L. (Duprey) Stewart, 89, of Bristol, widow of George R. Stewart, died Friday, (April 1, 2005) at Bristol Hospital. Mrs. Stewart was born September 19, 1915 in Ashland, ME and was a daughter of the late Alex and Agnes (DeVoe) Duprey. She resided in West Hartford for 30 years before moving to Ickesberg, PA where she lived until returning to Bristol in 1990. Mrs. Stewart is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Wilfredo Muniz of Bristol; a brother, Lawrence Duprey of North Carolina; five sisters, Victoria LaFerriere of Eagle Lake, ME, Rose Cloukey of Ashland, ME, Theresa Bannon of Glastonbury, Irene Albert of South Windsor, and Loretta Loubier of East Windsor; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Gilbert Theriault; a daughter, Diane Mahannah; and fourteen siblings. CECILIA JARVIS BROUILLETTE ST. ALBANS — Mrs. Cecilia Joan (Jarvis) Brouillette, age 79, of Messenger Street, died April 1, 2005, in Northwestern Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with several chronic illnesses. She was born in St. Albans, Oct. 30, 1925, daughter of the late Walter and Delia (Remillard) Jarvis. She attended Holy Angels School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in the city. After World War II, on Nov. 4, 1946, she married Howard A. Brouillette. Within 3½ years they had five children including two sets of twins. From that time until the end of her days, her love and devotion to her children and husband were the essence of her life. Bringing up her young family in Highgate Falls, Cecilia played an active role in church, school and community events while creating a home filled with love and joy. Long days and nights were spent in the care of the large family home from the making of gardens to the sewing of clothing for her children. Cecilia was a beautiful seamstress not only for her family but many in the local community as well. After her children were grown, she and Howard moved back to St. Albans and for 17 years she was employed by William Doolin & Company. She worked in Doolin's fine china department and acted as bridal registry consultant. In her spare time Cecilia was an avid Red Sox fan. She enjoyed going to church bingos and playing games with family, such as the card game “500“ and Scrabble. She also knitted and crocheted many gifts for family and friends. Two of her most recent passions were painting landscapes and Vermont covered bridges and bird watching. Family vacations on Cape Cod were a highlight of Cecilia's life for 30 years. Cecilia's husband of 57 years, Howard, predeceased her on June 22, 2004. She is survived by her five children, Dr. Linda Brouillette of Sagamore Beach, Mass., James Brouillette and his wife Susan of Georgia, Judith Robinson and her husband Jay of Burlington, Donald Brouillette and his wife Charlene of Georgia, Donna Boudreau and her husband David of Georgia. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Bradley, Laura, Lisa, Kyla, Jess, Emily, Drew, Natalie, Andrea, Justin, Brent and Hilary; nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Sierra, Maxwell, Colby, Jayden, Gavin, Kaley, Brodie and Macy. She also leaves her sister, Sister Agnes Lanier, C.S.C., of Manchester, N. H.; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased brothers and sisters include Walter Jarvis, Alfred Jarvis, Germaine Bordeau, Beatrice Godin, Regina Rocheleau, Andre Jarvis, John Jarvis and Albert Jarvis. In reflecting on her life it can be clearly seen that family was at its center. Her guidance and love gave her family roots and wings and she will always be the “wind beneath their wings.“ A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. in Holy Angels Church. Shelton J. "Paw Paw" Ardoin, 90, of Port Acres, died Friday, April 1, 2005 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 4, 2005 at Broussard's in Nederland with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Sunday evening at the mortuary. Mr. Ardoin was a native of Vidrine, Louisiana and lived in Port Arthur since 1938. He retired from Gulf Oil Corporation in Port Arthur on the Phenol Unit with 33 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed his time raising cattle in Port Acres. He was also a member of the morning coffee club at Johnny Alford's in Port Acres. Mr. Ardoin was preceded in death by his wife, S.L. Ardoin, also two grandchildren, Darrell Ardoin, and Jason Bland. He is survived by four daughters, Shurdell Leger of Beaumont, Jennifer Bland of Beaumont, Melanie Bowser and husband Tom of Jasper, and Cynthia Ardoin of Bridge City; two sons, J.C. Ardoin of Robstown, and John Ardoin and wife Ginger of Port Neches; one sister, Irene Gary of Conroe; one brother, Silton Ardoin of Port Acres; twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

SOUTHBRIDGE— Marguerite L. (Chabot) Curboy, 87, of 67 School St., passed away Saturday, April 2nd, in her home while being cared for by her loving family. Her husband William P. Curboy, died in 1980. She leaves four sons, John M. Curboy of Mendon, William P. Curboy, II, and his companion Anne Costello of Grafton, Martin R. Curboy of Southbridge, and Stewart J. Curboy and his wife, Michelle Poulin of Holland; two daughters, Imelda E. Lundstrom and her husband Gordon of Southbridge and Deborah M. Cote and her husband, Rene, of Warren; a sister, Louise Davis of Florida; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several godchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers, Mathurin, Roland, Thomas and Paul Chabot and seven sisters, Juliette Putelis, Leona Hardegan, Rita Dabrowski, Florence Allain, Eleanora Grayden, Lucille Knox and Angeline Morrison. She was born in Webster, the daughter of Joseph Z. and Imelda (Maynard) Chabot. Mrs. Curboy worked as a waitress at the former Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in Sturbridge for 35 years where she was known for her people skills, retiring many years ago. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Southbridge where she served as a greeter and a CCD volunteer and was a member of its St. Rita’s Society. She was a volunteer at Harrington Memorial Hospital. She was well known for her collection of hats and enjoyed creating outfits for her to wear. For those who were fortunate to know her in life, Marguerite will be remembered for her generosity, hospitality, great cooking, sewing skills and outstanding method of shooting a basketball, but most of all she will be remembered as an elegant lady, beautiful woman, a kind, loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She dedicated her entire life to her family and will be sadly missed. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 5th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m in St. Mary’s Church, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. He was born in North Oxford, Mass., on Nov. 13, 1932, the son of Wilfred and Emma Choiniere. NORTH UXBRIDGE— Mrs. Eva Mary (Lapointe) Lapensee, 86, of Beaumont Nursing Home, died Friday March 25, 2005. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Lapensee. Born Sept. 28, 1919, in Uxbridge, Mass. She had been a resident of Maple Court in Linwood, Mass for 40 years before moving to Beaumont. Mrs. Lapensee worked 25 years at the A & P in Whitinsville, Mass. She is survived by a son, Arthur Ralph Lapensee and his wife Sharon, of Fort Myers, Florida, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at the Good Shepherd Church in Linwood, Mass. at a later date. Arrangements have been made for her body to be donated to UMass Medical Center at her request.

PAUL J. LEMOINE Paul Joseph Lemoine, 71, passed away on March 23, 2005. He was born June 4, 1933, in Nashua, New Hampshire. He grew up in New London, Connecticut, and graduated from Norwich Free Academy Trade School as a Carpenter. He served 5 years in the US Army, was a Korean War Veteran and honorably discharged in 1958. He came to California in 1962 and continued working as a Carpenter to later own his own business as a General Contractor. In 1979 he became a resident of Newberry Springs, and later started driving BIG TRUCKS. Paul is survived by his loving & devoted wife of 3 years, Dee Lemoine of Newberry Springs; sons, Glenn Lemoine of Tehachapi, CA, and Mark Lemoine of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Susan Lemoine of San Diego, CA; step daughters, Gigi Garcia of Colton, CA; step sons, Spout Garcia of San Be rnardino, CA and Gerard Garcia of Whittier, CA; daughters-in-law, Carla Lemoine of Tehachapi, CA, Teresa Lemoine of Tulsa, OK, Trish Garcia of San Bernardino and Angie Garcia of Whittier; grandchildren, Shannon Lemoine, Brian Lemoine, Angela Hill & Monica Layton; and great grandson, Mickey Layton. Paul was a kid at heart and had a lasting impression on the lives of all he met. He will be sadly missed. Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband Ivan on August 26, 2004 and her sister Evelyn in 1942. Gladys will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ken (Julie), Don (Gerry) and Bev (Tom) Paulley; grandchildren, Krista (Ricky) Zimmermann, Joanne (Sean) Darams, Steve (Kim), Brent (Linda), Paul (Teresa), Jody Hooper and Melissa Milbrandt; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Shandi, Alyssa, Kurt, Joshua, Alexander, Anna, Megan, Kayla and Matthew. Gladys was born on April 1, 1915 in Hamilton, ON and moved to Winnipeg with her parents shortly thereafter. As a young adult she worked as a hairdresser in Yorkton, SK and in Winnipeg where she met and married Ivan on Christmas Eve 1942. Mom devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed her many interests which included crocheting, knitting, baking and sewing. Playing the piano and tole and craft painting were among her favourite pastimes. In 1971 Gladys and Ivan moved to Pinawa where they enjoyed country living, moving on to Beausejour in 1981 where she actively participated in Jody and Melissa's formative years. Mom and Dad moved back to Winnipeg in 1997 to be closer to family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview Place for their excellent and compassionate care of Gladys. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. Ella Mathilde Grinke Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2005, Ella Grinke passed away at the Victoria Hospital. She was predeceased by her sister Emma; and brothers Leopold and Frederick. Ella is survived by sisters Irene Knowlton, Laura Hermonat, Dorothy McKenzie, Evelyn Aikman and Joan Vincent. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg in 1913, Ella spent her early years attending Pinkam and Maple Leaf Schools. Ella worked at Paulin Chambers where she was a manager for 47 years, retiring in 1978. Ella joined the Waacs from 1943-1946 and became a Lieutenant, spending most of three years at Camp Shilo. Ella's enjoyment was with family, many nieces and nephews to whom she was so kind. Ella enjoyed her life, especially with her friends that she played poker with every month. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. In the early 1960's, she bought a cottage at Matlock and it was there that many happy days were spent. The annual Paulins picnic was another big event for the family and Ella enjoyed having them at it, as she was involved in the organizing. She also enjoyed traveling and had many trips to see her brother Fred perform. Life was good to Ella, but more than that, Ella was our life and we are going to miss the caring and loving that she gave to us all. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Thank you to Dr. Stanley Eng and the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their care and concern. J. Robert Charron, 66, of Manchester, died April 1, 2005 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Manchester on July 7, 1938 and was the son of Adrian and Elsie (Fournier) Charron. He was a member of St. Pius X Parish. For many years he worked as a shipper at the Hermsdorf Fixture Manufacturing Company, prior to that he worked in the management of Fast Food Services. He was a member of the League of a Thousand Men of the Precious Blood Monastery, a 25 year member of the choir of St. Pius X Parish, a volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 111, and a member of the Carpenters Union. Mr. Charron was a member of the Voices of Hope Choir, a lifelong Red Sox fan and ren Papa’s taxi Service for many years. Family members include his wife of 45years, Marjorie (Oliver) Charron, of Manchester; 5 daughters, Eileen A. Moreau, Janice L. Kelly, Kristen E. Lambert, Amy J. Charron, all of Manchester, Wendy L. ALICE RITA QUENNEVILLE DENIS -- VERGENNES — Alice Rita Quenneville Denis, 79, passed away April 1, 2005, in Vergennes Residential Care Home after a long illness. She was born June 28, 1925, in Jeffersonville, daughter of Thomas and Lea Quenneville. She attended school in Shoreham, and she married Alexis Denis on June 14, 1943, in Vergennes. They lived in Weybridge until moving to Cornwall in 1945, where they were lifelong residents. She worked at Middlebury College, Longey's Country Store and also Geiger of Austria in Middlebury. Family and friends were very important to Alice, and she had many interests as well. Cooking, sewing, crafts, fundraising for the Cornwall Fire Department, and playing cards and Chinese checkers kept Alice very busy. She belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church and the Cornwall Grange. Alice may best be remembered for her coffee and hospitality — you could stop by anytime, day or night, and have a cup of coffee or a bite to eat with her (even if you didn't want one!). Alice had a terrific sense of humor, and was always ready to hear a good joke. She is survived by her children, two daughters, Rita Glidden and her husband Richard of Cornwall, and Jane Glasz and her husband Gary of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and one son, Emile (Butch) Denis and Naomi Joslin of North Lawrence, N.Y., and her daughter-in-law Linda Denis of Fayetteville, N.C. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son Rene Denis, a brother, Eli Quenneville, and three sisters, Yvonne Larocque, Emma Forgues, and Irene Treadway. EAST LONGMEADOW - Paul Leo Gervais, Sr. 68, beloved husband for 45 years to Lorraine (Martin) Gervais, ascended into the journey of life eternal, March 31, 2005, at home surrounded by his loving family. He retired in 1994 from Ebasco Services, after 18 years of employment. Following retirement, he worked part time as a greenskeeper at Elmcrest Country Club, East Longmeadow. Born in Springfield Oct 3, 1936, he was a son of the late Leo and Hazel (Provanche) Gervais, had been a prior resident of East Springfield, before moving to East Longmeadow, twenty three years ago. He was a 1954 graduate of Springfield Trade High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy following his graduation, serving during peacetime. A beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, Paul loved hunting, fishing, travel, hiking, scuba diving, was a nature lover and enjoyed raquet sports. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Mostly, Paul loved life and sharing his zest for living with his many family members and friends. Paul's gentle spirit will be dearly missed by many. Besides his wife, Paul is survived by his devoted children and their spouses; Paul L. Gervais, Jr. and Catherine Gervais of Durango, Colorado, Lynn Gervais-Jones and Lee Jones of Longmeadow, Donna (Gervais) Goulet and Rick Goulet of Springfield, cherished grandchildren; Leah, Abigail, and Elizabeth Gervais of Durango, Colorado, Meghan Jones of Longmeadow, Juliette Goulet of Springfield. LaROCQUE, DONALD P. May 6, 1942 to March 30, 2005 Donald LaRocque, beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away suddenly on March 30, at his home in Del Mar at the age of 62. Don grew up in Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated from Miami University (Oxford, OH) in 1964 with a degree in mathematics and served as a Navy Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. A graduate of Michigan Law School in 1971, he practiced law in Rancho Bernardo where he was an avid golfer. Don served as an active community member and leader for many years, including president of the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club. Elected for membership in the Rancho Bernardo Hall of Fame in 1986 for outstanding volunteer services and leadership, Don served his community and his family with integrity, selflessness, and love. He is survived by his wife Vicki Gloor; brothers, Capt. MERIDEN - Alice (Perron) Klaus, 91, of Meriden, formerly of New Britain and Kensington, the widow of Stanley Joseph Klaus, died early Saturday morning at Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Meriden. Born in Berlin, N. H., the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Adeline (Gosselin) Perron, she was employed at The Stanley Works until her retirement, and was a member of St. Paul Church in Kensington.She is survived by two sons, George DiPace in New Hampshire and Robert DiPace Sr. of Waterbury; a daughter, Theresa Hanson of Meriden; eight grandchildren, Cheryl Rasmussen, Frank Oraczewski, Robert DiPace Jr., Kenneth, Christopher, and Steven DiPace, Donna Veach, and Diane Barden; and several great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. WATERFORD - A very bright light was extinguished when Mildred P. Beale, 75, left this world on April 1, 2005, at Samaritan Hospital Hospice with her family gathered around her. Millie waged a valiant battle against cancer with grace, courage and humor. She was an inspiration.Born in Cohoes, Millie was the daughter of the late Mildred and Wilfred Poliquin.She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John T. Beale, in 1993.A lifelong resident of Waterford, Millie was a graduate of Waterford High School and attended Troy Business College. Her resume included positions at Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the state Department of Law and GEX Credit.She spent many happy years assisting in the special education classroom at Waterford-Halfmoon High School. There she shared her unique blend of enthusiasm and warmth with students and colleagues and made many friends during her tenure.When her children were young, Millie was active in the Hometown Improvement Association and the Waterford Halfmoon PTA. Millie was a vital member of a determined group of Waterfordians who worked tirelessly to pass a bond issue for a new school in the 1960s. She was a charter member of the board of the Waterford Historical Museum and past treasurer. In recent years, Millie oversaw many educational museum bus trips that took members and their friends to historic places ranging from Kykuit in Tarrytown to Edith Wharton's The Mount in Lenox. She was on the board of the Waterford Rural Cemetery and the Board of Directors of the Cohoes Senior Citizens Center. She also belonged to the Cohoes Caretakers, the Cohoes Silver Tops and the St. Mary's Church Shut-in Group. Her children often joked that she had a better social life than they did. Millie was an exceptional mother and friend and was often a second mom to her children's friends, especially to C-J Cerqua. Outgoing and spirited, she made friends easily and always made people feel at home She truly was young at heart, open to new adventures and ideas and simply delightful to be around.Millie is survived by a large family who were devoted to her and will miss her for the rest of their lives.Survivors include two sons, Wayne T. Beale of Clifton Park and Jeffrey P. Beale of Salem, MA; three daughters, Wendy Berninger and her husband Walter of Niskayuna, Jacqueline Shea of Watervliet and Lisa Mayo and her husband Michael of Clifton Park; her devoted sister, Beverly Cullen and her husband Robert of Colonie. She also has nine granddaughters, Rachael, Melanie and Danielle Beale, Samantha and Lindsay Mayo, Katie Shea, Elaine Jacobs, Cyndi Rodriguez and Diane Berninger. She is also survived by two nieces, Sheila Bouchard and Cathy Cullen-Doin.An exceptional cast of players had vital roles in making Millie's life easier and happier during her illness.Three who deserve special mention are selfless friend and caregiver Jim Wilkens and loving friends Hazel Evans and Jane Beale. Another trio of compassionate caregivers includes Katie Hiser, Gordon Delurey and Judy Farrell, who provided Millie with tender loving care. The family will never forget all of these people and the comfort they brought to her until the end of her life.The family wishes to thank countless friends for their thoughtfulness and help during Millie's five-month ordeal and especially for the hundreds of heartening cards and letters. Millie looked forward to opening her mail and commented on how much she loved her friends and how wonderful they were to remember her.The family is also profoundly indebted to the extraordinary staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, especially Dr. Len Appleman, Stephanie Morrissey, Judy Prisby and Ronak Patel. They were Millie's medical champions as they harnessed the latest in medical breakthroughs for her coupled with endless empathy and encouragement.The trips to and from Boston were grueling but Millie was tough and she felt at home once she arrived and put herself in the care of Dana-Farber's world-class professionals.Local care was in the capable and sensitive hands of Dr. Regina Resta and her responsive staff.Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Robert "Roy" Pattie Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home After a valiant struggle with cancer, Roy passed away on Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 86. Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Dorene; children, David (Carol), Don and Shirley (Rick) Shewchuk; grandchildren, Shannon, Kimberley, Sheri and Joshua Pattie, Kaleigh and Ashleigh Shewchuk; brothers, Jack and Mitchell (Ruth); and sisters, Lena Brooks and Shirley Foot. Roy served in Second World War from 1941 to 1946, including the Battle of Normandy. He and Dorene married upon his return from overseas. Roy worked for the Hudsons Bay Company, Northern Stores in various places in Northern Canada. Roy and Dorene have resided in Winnipeg since 1970. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Palliative Care, Homecare and the Riverview Health Centre for the care given to Roy. Special thanks to Jennifer, who made his last days at home comfortable and to the many people from the Department of Veterans Affairs for their ongoing support. Roy will be laid to rest in a private family service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her devoted husband, Alistair Clothier. She will be greatly missed by her brother, Dr. Arthur (Sallie) Scott, as well as her nieces and nephews. Ruby enjoyed a long career in nursing. She was the Director of Nursing at Toronto's North Western Hospital for 17 years. She then spent several years at the Grace Hospital working in paliative care. She moved to Victoria in 1992, where she enjoyed her retirement fully. Ruby will be sadly missed by many. We will remember her sparkling blue eyes, her easy laugh and her compassion for others. BARRETTE, MARY ANN (COSTANTINI), 77, of Main Street, Coventry died on Thursday at the Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Nando and Rose (Dantico) Constantini. She had resided in West Warwick for most of her life. She was a supervisor at the Natco Products Company in West Warwick for over 25 years before retiring in 1986.She leaves three daughters: Patricia A. Wood of Narraganset, Donna-Lee Bissett of Coventry, and Rosemary Moniz of Phoenix, Arizona; one son Arthur A. Barrette, Jr., of Greenville; two sisters: Carmela Hoppman of Coventry, and Victoria Cotnoir of West Warwick; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.The funeral and burial will be private. NORTH ADAMS -- T. Norman Bleau, 85, of 85 Eagle St., St. Joseph's Court, died yesterday morning at home. He had owned and operated Norm's Barber Shop from 1963 until retiring in April 2002. Born in North Adams on Feb. 18, 1920, son of Zenophile and Alma Regnier Bleau, he attended the former Notre Dame and St. Joseph's High schools. He also attended schools in Williamstown. A decorated Army veteran of World War II, he served as a private, first class in the Pacific theater. He received the Combat Infantryman's and Parachutist badges, among others. Mr. Bleau graduated from Vaughn's Barbering School in Hartford, Conn., in 1948 and served an apprenticeship with Rougeau and Gardner Barber Shop on Ashland Street before becoming a professional barber with the shop. He also graduated from the School of Hairstyling in Worcester in the 1950s. In 1963, he established his shop on Ashland Street and, in 1974, moved it to Eagle Street, next to Jack's Hot Dog Stand. On Sept. 12, 1998, a 50-year celebration was held for Mr. Bleau, with an open house attended by state Rep. Daniel Bosley, who presented him with a certificate from the state House honoring his years of service to the community. Mr. Bleau was a longtime communicant of St. Francis' Church, where he served as an usher, a life member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and a member of Lodge 487 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. A founding member of the North Adams Cribbage Club, he also enjoyed bowling, playing chess with friends and local college students, and playing golf. He and his wife, the former Margaret Lena "Marge" Dowling, were married Sept. 28, 1946, in St. Francis' Church. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Carol M. Boucher and Diane M. Bleau, both of North Adams; two sons, Thomas Leonard Bleau of North Adams and Robert Alan Bleau of Pownal, Vt.; a brother, Zenophile Bleau of Hudson, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
