Laurie J. LeBlanc Laurie J. LeBlanc, 86, of Walsh Street, Moncton, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005 at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born October 12, 1918 in College Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Laurie was Yard Master and Train Conductor for CN prior to his retirement, a member of the Parkton Golden Age Club, and 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1310. He is survived by his wife, Flora (Saulnier) LeBlanc; a daughter, Marilyn Godbout (Ed Cormier) of Moncton; five sons, Leonard (Anne) of Stratford, ON, Dolard (Phyllis) of Las Vegas, Gilles (Cathy) of Oakville, ON, Bert (Jean) of Edmonton, AB, and Paul of Fredericton; a sister, Mita Saulnier; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two young daughter, Gisèle and Murielle; two sisters, Juliette and Célina; three brothers, Marc, Camille, and Rev. Gérard LeBlanc. McCREADY, RITA MARY (CRANE) - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother Rita Mary (Crane) McCready, on Wednesday March 30, 2005 at the age of 84. Loving wife of the late Leo Patrick McCready. Born in Johnville, NB, Rita was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Gormley) Crane. She was a member of Stella Maris Church and CWL for many years. Rita had worked in housekeeping at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home for many years. She is survived by sons Paul (Shirley) of Saint John and Terrance (Patricia) of Miami, FL and daughter Patricia Humphrey (Robert) of Saint John as well as loving and devoted companion Douglas Ramsey; sister-in-law Pearl (Kenney) Crane; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, brothers Ambrose and Michael and sister Sadie Pierce predeceased her. Rita was the last surviving member of her family. Barnes, Celia (nee Whitworth) To our sorrow, Celia Barnes, (nee Whitworth), of Angus in her 86th year, passed peacefully at the Creedan Valley Nursing Home in Creemore on Wednesday March 30th, 2005. She was a loving wife to the late Art McKinley, Norman Deforest and Rod Barnes. PATTERSON, Audrey Inez Passed away on Friday, March 25, 2005 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Inez was born on July 31, 1912 in Cobalt Ontario, daughter of Audrey Campbell McIntyre and George Gilbert Hadaway Hunt. During her childhood the family lived in Haileybury, North Bay and Pembroke where Inez was Valedictorian of the graduating class at the Pembroke Collegiate. After moving to Ottawa in 1939 she attended the High School of Commerce. In 1941 she married Donald Alexander Gourley and they had two children Judith and Donald. Captain Gourley died in 1947. In 1955 Inez married Lawrence A. Patterson, (Pat) and the family moved to Halifax and five years later to Vancouver, and then Richmond, where they resided until July 2001 when the Pattersons moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta to be near their son and his wife. A business woman for her entire working life Inez always took an active interest in politics and world affairs and for years she was an energetic volunteer with the Canadian Airlines Charitable Donations Committee when she worked for the company. Inez and Pat traveled extensively throughout Canada and the world. Predeceased by an infant brother, her first husband and her parents, Inez is survived by her husband Pat, Medicine Hat, son Don Gourley (Claire), Medicine Hat, daughter Judith Phillips, two grandchildren, Gretchen and Joel Phillips, all from Edmonton as well as several nephews and two cousins. Her family was so important to her and she to all of us. She made such a difference in our lives! We shall all miss her dearly. A service in her memory was held in Medicine Hat, at the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, March 30th at 11:00 am. with Major Brad Smith officiating. Cheryl Norine Bradford (née Lewis) Funeral arrangements by Desjardins Funeral Chapel CHERYL NORINE BRADFORD (Nee LEWIS) Cheryl left us suddenly on March 28, 2005. She leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth and her son Carl, as well as her brothers Adrian (Fran), Bob and her sister Anthea, sisters-in-law Beverly (Don), Winnie (Gerald), brothers-in-law Clifford, Ken, David and Rodney as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheryl was predeceased by her father Theodore in 1969 and her mother Eva in 1996. Cheryl was raised in St. Vital and then returned there to raise her two children. She had been a long time employee at Ben Moss executive offices and previous to that of ICG. She developed and maintained friendships at both places. She also kept in touch with several school friends. We would like to thank the Fire Department Emergency Recue crew, paramedics, as well as the staff at the Victoria General Hospital. BOSCAWEN -- Edward Arthur Leroux, 75, of Bailey Drive, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at home after a period of failing health. He was born in Franklin, Aug. 5, 1929, the son of Arthur and Bernadette (Cunningham) Leroux. He attended St. Mary Catholic School in Franklin and later Franklin High School. He moved from Franklin to Boscawen 17 years ago, living there until his death. Edward worked as a salesman and later worked as a supervisor for many years at the Arthur S. Brown Tilton Endless Belt Co. in Tilton. At the time of his death he was employed as a pastry chef at Park and Go in Northfield. Edward was a former member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks. Edward enjoyed painting and landscaping. He loved the sea and his many walks on the seashore. He loved dancing, dining and playing board and card games. He will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather. He served from 1947 until 1949 with the U. S. Marine Corps and was later reactivated, serving in the Korean conflict. Edward was a parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Franklin. He was predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Denise A. (Rouin) Leroux, who died in 1979. His family includes his son, Roger A. Leroux of Epsom; four daughters, Linda K. Perry of Andover, Nancy L. Tierney of Northfield, Carol A. Leroux-Hickey of Northfield and Cindy D. Stillings of Laconia; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his fiancée, Rosemary A. Chabot of Boscawen; stepchildren, Myrriam P. Hapsis of Sanbornton and Daniel C. Cutting of Moultonboro; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road, Tilton. Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the memorial home. Burial will be held later in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin. JEANERETTE -- The Rite of Christian Burial for Mrs. Paulton Hebert, the former Emma Belle "Pete" Derouen, 79, will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.Visiting hours will be observed today from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Hebert died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Iberia Medical Center.Mrs. Hebert was retired from the city of Jeanerette as a Clerk in Bookeeping after 25 years of service. Alzheimer's Disease may have taken her memory but it could never steal her wits. She loved to sew and crochet. L. PHILIP RENAUD HARDWICK — L. Philip Renaud, 84, passed away at his home on March 30, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Hardwick, the son of Albert and Lydia (Brochu) Renaud. He attended the one-room schoolhouse on Center Road in Hardwick. “Phil” worked in Bermuda from 1941-1943 constructing a Naval Base and enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in 1943. He was called to active duty that same year. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned home to work with his father in the pulp wood business. On Nov. 24, 1949, he married Helen Demars. They raised their family in Hardwick. Phil drove Bus 1 for Hardwick schools for 37 years and was a security guard at Goddard College in Plainfield until 1984. He was very involved in his community, serving the Hardwick School Board, Selectboard, Fire Department, Police Department. He was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a communicant of St. Norbert's parish and a 50+ year member of the American Legion, Post 7. He was a founding member of the Hardwick Rescue Squad. Phil was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His favorite moments were spent canoeing the lakes and rivers of northern Maine with Helen and hunting with his sons. He enjoyed many camping trips with his grandchildren. He loved nature and appreciated its wonders and beauty. His stories will be remembered and shared for many years to come. Phil is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his four sons, David and his wife, Gail, Paul and his wife, Lori, Wayne and his wife, Lenore, all of Hardwick, and Richard “Rick” and his wife, Bethann of Bowdoin, Maine; his seven grandchildren, Oneal and wife Amy, Amanda, Danielle, Megan, Matthew, Tyler, and Jacob; and his great-grandson, Jayden; by his siblings, Raymond of Concord, Theresa Ferland of Hardwick, Lucien of Morrisville, Clement of Dallas, Texas, Ivan of Hardwick and Albert Jr. of Thetford Mines, Quebec. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Sulliman, and brother Fidelle (“Fido”). A Mass celebrating Philip's life will be celebrated Monday, April 4, at 11 a.m. in St. Norbert Church, South Main Street, Hardwick. There will be no calling hours. Plattsburgh — Hubert "Bert" S. Senecal, 62, of the Cross Road, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 2, 1942, the son of Charlie and Alice Senecal. He married Alice Cudworth in Plattsburgh on July 3, 1965. Alice died in November 1994.Bert was a member of the Moose Lodge in Keeseville.He was a mechanic for over 40 years and 25 years with the U.S. Government Civil Service on the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1993.Bert loved camping, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.His greatest joy was his grandchildren.Survivors include one son, Robert and Kim Senecal of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren, Samantha, Robbie, Richie and Ryan Senecal and Brock and Jacklyn Darrah; one brother, Gary Senecal of Plattsburgh; one sister, Beverly and Raymond Hendrie of Plattsburgh; and three nieces and three nephews.He was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn "Peggy" Vanvalkenburg.Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W.
