Doucet, Elvine Legier "Aunt Pete" A resident of Fordoche for about 75 years, she went to be with our Lord at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005. She was 90 years old, born on Feb. 28, 1915, in Grand Coteau. A homemaker blessed with a wonderful talent for cooking, her Sunday dinners were enjoyed by her family and friends for many, many years. Visiting will be at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Livonia, from 9 a.m. Saturday, April 2, until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Entombment in St. Francis Cabrini Mausoleum. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, L.C. and Lorita Doucet and Ray and Beverley Doucet, all of Fordoche; a son, Joe Doucet, Krotz Springs; three daughters and sons-in-law, Adrian and Gloria Francois, Erwinville, Bea and Skinny Riviere, Baton Rouge, and Pat and Wayne Pizzolato, Fordoche; a sister-in-law, Lou Gros Doucet, Baton Rouge; a brother, Horace Legier; a sister, Bertha Pavee; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell Legier and Louise Savoy Legier; her husband, Jack Doucet; four brothers, Frenchy, Mitchell Jr., Clebert and Berchman; and two sisters, Mary Louise Thibodeaux and Mary Legier. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Paul Rachel, the staff and especially the nursing aides of Lakeview Manor Nursing Home and Hospice of Pointe Coupee for the loving care given our mother. LAURENTIA S. MAGNAN -- ST. ALBANS — After a life of caring for others, Miss Laurentia S. Magnan, age 91, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in the Holiday House Residential Care Home. She was born in St. Alexis, Quebec, July 27, 1913, daughter of the late Leonidas and Anna (Perrault) Magnan. She spent most of her life as a homemaker for herself, her family and others. She is survived by her two sisters, Monica Lemnah of Greenville, N.C., and Gertrude Sweeney of Jeffersonville; her brother, Henry Magnan and his wife Loretta of Fairfield; sister-inlaw Loretta Magnan of Montpelier; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents; her sisters, Gabrielle Boudrais and Rose Anna Duval; her brothers, Napoleon, Odilon, Euclide, and Leonidas Magnan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church in Fairfield. Visiting hours will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made in her name to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478. Mary Jane Perron, 88, El Jobean, died March 30, 2005, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.She was born July 27, 1916, in Newburgh, N.Y., and came to the El Jobean area in 1972 from Concord, N.H. She was co-owner of the Great Bay Cabins in Lake Winnisquam, N.H. She and her husband owned and operated Tri-State Iron Works before moving to Florida. She was a member of the El Jobean Community League and Hobby Club, serving in many areas as project chairperson for events.She had been selected as citizen of the month/year for 1987 for her many hours of volunteer work.Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Spence of El Jobean; a son, Thomas of Underhill, Vt.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Perron, who died in 2002.Services will be private. Kays-Ponger Funeral Home in Port Charlotte is in charge.

LEWISTON - Thesese B. Pepin, 71, of 10 Riverside St., died Wednesday, March 30, at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family by her side.She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 28, 1933, the daughter of Benjamin and Marie Anna Roberge Pickens.She was educated in local schools and was married to Albert R. Pepin who predeceased her April 18, 1972.Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a sales clerk at the former Sparks Department Store and Carroll Cut-Rate.She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish and enjoyed her grandchildren, flower gardening, knitting and the company of her cat, Mitzy.She is survived by a daughter, Diana Jean Pepin, of Oxford; a son, Philip Albert Pepin and his wife, Robin, of Bradford; her loving companion of 30 years, Robert J. Pinard, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Jasmine Dan and her husband, Sgt. Ritchie Dan, of Auburn, Justin Pepin of Boston, and Karen Pepin of Princeton; a great-grandson, Ralph.She was predeceased by a sister, Rita Lewis, in 1995.

BOSCAWEN -- Edward Arthur Leroux, 75, of Bailey Drive, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at home after a period of failing health. He was born in Franklin, Aug. 5, 1929, the son of Arthur and Bernadette (Cunningham) Leroux. He attended St. Mary Catholic School in Franklin and later Franklin High School. He moved from Franklin to Boscawen 17 years ago, living there until his death. Edward worked as a salesman and later worked as a supervisor for many years at the Arthur S. Brown Tilton Endless Belt Co. in Tilton. At the time of his death he was employed as a pastry chef at Park and Go in Northfield. Edward was a former member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks. Edward enjoyed painting and landscaping. He loved the sea and his many walks on the seashore. He loved dancing, dining and playing board and card games. He will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather. He served from 1947 until 1949 with the U. S. Marine Corps and was later reactivated, serving in the Korean conflict. Edward was a parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Franklin. He was predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Denise A. (Rouin) Leroux, who died in 1979. His family includes his son, Roger A. Leroux of Epsom; four daughters, Linda K. Perry of Andover, Nancy L. Tierney of Northfield, Carol A. Leroux-Hickey of Northfield and Cindy D. Stillings of Laconia; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his fiancée, Rosemary A. Chabot of Boscawen; stepchildren, Myrriam P. Hapsis of Sanbornton and Daniel C. Cutting of Moultonboro; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road, Tilton. Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the memorial home. Burial will be held later in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery in Franklin. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one's choice.

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Paul E. Bolduc, 88, a former Chelmsford resident and retired machinist, died yesterday morning, March 31, at the home of his daughter in Port Charlotte. He was the husband of the late Laurette B. (Hudon) Bolduc. He was born in Lowell on May 18, 1916, a son of the late Alphonse and Eva (Milette) Bolduc. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist at the Deran Confectionery Co. of Cambridge, Mass., a division of Borden Corp.After their marriage in 1940, the Bolducs lived for 34 years in Arlington, Mass., and then 10 years in Cambridge. After relocating to St. Petersburg, they returned to Greater Lowell in 2003. Mr. Bolduc had lived at the Summer Place Residence in Chelmsford before his recent move to Port Charlotte.Mr. Bolduc had been a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church in Lowell. He is survived by two sons, Richard J. Bolduc and his wife Sandra of Venice, Fla., Roger G. Bolduc of Dracut; two daughters, Priscilla M. Booth and her husband David of Chelmsford, Elaine D. Paula and her husband Joseph of Port Charlotte. He also leaves eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.He was also the brother of the late Real J. Bolduc. JEANERETTE -- The Rite of Christian Burial for Mrs. Paulton Hebert, the former Emma Belle "Pete" Derouen, 79, will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.Visiting hours will be observed today from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Hebert died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Iberia Medical Center.Mrs. Hebert was retired from the city of Jeanerette as a Clerk in Bookeeping after 25 years of service. Alzheimer's Disease may have taken her memory but it could never steal her wits. She loved to sew and crochet. Musical selections will be sung by Tammy Maturin and will include "Hail Mary", "Gentle Women", "On Eagles Wings", "Just a Closer Walk With Thee", "You Are Near" and "Let There Be Peace on Earth".She is survived by her daughter, Karin Viator of Scott; two sisters, Dora Jane "Coonie" Landry of Jeanerette and Deloria "Tookie" Carlisle of Jeanerette; a brother, Russell Derouen and wife Marion of Houma; two step-grandsons, Joey Giandelone of Broussard and Johnny Giandelone of Morgan City; two step-granddaughters, Janet Broussard of Breaux Bridge and Betty Jane Giandelone of Breaux Bridge and numerous nieces and nephews who all called her Aunt Pete.Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her husband, Paulton Hebert; parents, Whitney and Noelie Escurieux Derouen and two sisters, Rita Broussard and Theresa Migues.Pallbearers will be Rodney Schexnayder, Mike Metzel, Kenneth Landry Jr., Joey and Johnny Giandelone and Kevin LeBlanc.Honorary pallbearers will be Brady Cormier, Chad Newgebaver, Ezekial Bradley, Blue Lewis, Dr. James Falterman Jr. and Patrick N. Mr. James "Jimmy" M. Power March 18, 1948 - January 07, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Castle Funeral Home-Fallsview Chapel The death of James Michael "Jimmy" Power occured on Friday, January 7, 2005 in Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, April 18, 1948, Jimmy was the son of Sylvia (Stuart) Power and the late Gerald Power. A 1967 graduate of Saint John Vocational School, Jimmy was employed for over 30 years at Irving Paper until his retirement in 2003. He was a committed union member, belonging to the Canadian Paper Workers Union Local #601, and serving as shop steward for several years. Jimmy was an avid hunter and fisherman, and from his youth enjoyed many summers at his loft in St. Andrews. In addition to his mother Sylvia, he is survived by his beloved daughter Lisa, sisters Judy (Ray) Glennie, Marybel, brother Andy (Kathy), and several nieces and nephews. ST. MARS, MARIE AGNES "AGGIE" April 19, 1916 - March 26, 2005. Marie Agnes St. Mars, 87, of Portland died March 26, 2005 in hospice care at the F&M Foster Home. She was born the 19th of April 1916 and was the last surviving member of 13 children born to Moxee Pioneers Wilfred and Melina Sauve. She married Wallace Theodore St. Mars in Moxee on the 19th of November 1935. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Grandmother whose grandchildren all knew her as "Meir-Meir," their French Grandma. She loved her family dearly and worried about each and every one of them. She was raised in the Moxee valley and had many stories to tell about growing up with 12 brothers and sisters. She was not the youngest but always said she was "Daddy's little girl"! She loved crabbing and clamming on the coast and trout fishing in the Oregon lakes and streams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years and two daughters, Marlene VonEsson of Wenatchee, WA, and Janice McVey of Gresham, OR. She is survived by a son, Ted St. Mars of Woodland, WA, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church Friday, April 1 at 11:00am, followed by burial at Willamette National Cemetery. Donations to any local hospice. Walter George Alward DARTMOUTH, NS - Walter George Alward, 59, of Dartmouth passed away of cancer March 30, 2005 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. He had been in ill health for several years. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, William Edgar Petersen; her daughter, Phyllis and her grandson, John. L. PHILIP RENAUD HARDWICK — L. Philip Renaud, 84, passed away at his home on March 30, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Hardwick, the son of Albert and Lydia (Brochu) Renaud. He attended the one-room schoolhouse on Center Road in Hardwick. “Phil” worked in Bermuda from 1941-1943 constructing a Naval Base and enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in 1943. He was called to active duty that same year. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned home to work with his father in the pulp wood business. On Nov. 24, 1949, he married Helen Demars. They raised their family in Hardwick. Phil drove Bus 1 for Hardwick schools for 37 years and was a security guard at Goddard College in Plainfield until 1984. He was very involved in his community, serving the Hardwick School Board, Selectboard, Fire Department, Police Department. He was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a communicant of St. Norbert's parish and a 50+ year member of the American Legion, Post 7. He was a founding member of the Hardwick Rescue Squad. Phil was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His favorite moments were spent canoeing the lakes and rivers of northern Maine with Helen and hunting with his sons. He enjoyed many camping trips with his grandchildren. He loved nature and appreciated its wonders and beauty. His stories will be remembered and shared for many years to come. Phil is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his four sons, David and his wife, Gail, Paul and his wife, Lori, Wayne and his wife, Lenore, all of Hardwick, and Richard “Rick” and his wife, Bethann of Bowdoin, Maine; his seven grandchildren, Oneal and wife Amy, Amanda, Danielle, Megan, Matthew, Tyler, and Jacob; and his great-grandson, Jayden; by his siblings, Raymond of Concord, Theresa Ferland of Hardwick, Lucien of Morrisville, Clement of Dallas, Texas, Ivan of Hardwick and Albert Jr. of Thetford Mines, Quebec. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Sulliman, and brother Fidelle (“Fido”). A Mass celebrating Philip's life will be celebrated Monday, April 4, at 11 a.m. in St. Norbert Church, South Main Street, Hardwick. There will be no calling hours. She formerly worked as a foreman of Avon Valley Greenhouses of Falmouth for 30 years. She was a member of the Falmouth United Baptist Church and also was Past Noble Grand of Leila Rebekah Lodge No. 59, she belonged to St. John Ambulance Brigade and was a member of the Windsor Gliders Club. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Ron) Reynolds, Falmouth; Geraldine (Ernie) Singleton, Hantsport; son, Morris (Mary) Armstrong, Mt. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 2, 1942, the son of Charlie and Alice Senecal. He married Alice Cudworth in Plattsburgh on July 3, 1965. Henry was proud to serve his country as a member of the National Guard, and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He worked for Ludlow Company for many years as a technical engineer retiring in 1976. Henry was predeceased by a son Kevin Dore, and his first wife Mary (Stabach) Dore. He is survived by his wife, Wanda A. (Czupryna) Dore; a son, Paul Dore and his wife Mary of Marion, VA; his daughters, Linda Hughes and her husband Russell of Springfield, Cynthia Musa and her husband Joe of Green Cove Springs, FL, Judy Borrero and her husband Ruben of Springfield, and Kathleen Nichols and her husband Daniel of Ludlow. Sister of Mae Hicks of Ludlow and Katherine Placido of Framingham, MA Grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 11. Private funeral services Saturday with burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
