Emil A. Boutin -- September 28, 1922 -- March 30, 2005 -- BROOKLYN -- Emil A. Boutin, 82, of Fairgrounds Road, Brooklyn, died Wednesday surrounded by his family at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Waltrude (Dupre) FoiseyBoutin; they were married January 9, 1987. He was born September 28, 1922 in Thompson, son of the late Alfred and Dorella (Rondeau) Boutin.Emil was a well know Car Salesman in the area for over 50 years, working for Cormier Larrrow Chrysler, 22 years, Gomes Chrysler, five years, Mathew Ford, 22 years and Disch Chrysler. He also worked for the Grosvenordale Co., Lawrence Blanket Mill, Belding Hemmingway Die House, Jules Home Supply, and Prefab Built Homes. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball. He was a well known Square Dance caller for over 40 years, and he liked to play solitaire. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of 16 years of the Pomfret Democratic Town Committee and had served as chairman.He leaves in addition to his wife two daughters: Sandra Poirier and her friend Chuck of Hereford, PA; Pamela Romanella and her friend Mike of Westerly, RI; a son: James Boutin and his friend Aurora of Westerly; 7 grandchildren: Scott; E'Lisa; Kaitlyn; Nicklaus; Brianna: Alexis; Carrie; 2 greatgrandchildren: Eva; Gaige; his former wife: Louise Richard, nine stepchildren; eleven stepgrandchildren; a stepgreatgrandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends. NORTH YARMOUTH - Edward F. Roberge, 53, lifelong resident of Yarmouth, died Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2005 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.He was born May 2, 1951 in Portland, a son of Robert P. and Helen (DeRoche) Roberge. He graduated from local schools. Mr. Roberge served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in England for three years.He was employed currently as a patrol officer for the Falmouth Police Department where he had been for the last 31 years.He enjoyed his hobby of photography, working with computers and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed spending free time with his family.He is survived by his mother of Yarmouth; his wife of seven years, Paula Roberge of North Yarmouth; a daughter, Heather R. Gordon of Aberdeen, N.J.; a stepson, Lee Ruby of North Yarmouth; a brother, Lawrence Roberge of Yarmouth; a grandson, Liam Gordon of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Monday, Apr. 4, in Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main St., Yarmouth, with Msgr. Paul Stefanko officiating. The Falmouth Police Department will provide Full Police Honors. Spring interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yarmouth. Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth. --- NORTH YARMOUTH - Edward F. Roberge, a 31-year veteran of the Falmouth Police Department who was nicknamed "Steady Eddie" for maintaining composure under any situation, died Wednesday. He was 53. Mr. Roberge loved being a police officer - as much for the people as for the pressure of responding to accidents and crimes. He liked knowing that he could make a difference in someone's life and was proud of the community he served. Falmouth Police Lt. David Kloth, who had worked with Mr. Roberge since he joined the department in March 1974, said he was respected on the job and in the community."He had a wealth of experience and a good working knowledge of the job," Kloth said. "He was a very good police officer. He had a lot of experience, good common sense and good people skills." Fellow officers admired and respected his laid-back personality. During his career, he found himself in the middle of some tense situations. In 1999, Mr. Roberge responded to a truck carrying millions of bees that had overturned on a highway ramp, leaving its cargo swarming around the wreckage. The accident closed the road for nearly eight hours. Several years ago, Mr. Roberge responded to an overturned propane tanker truck that shut down the interstate. "No matter the situation, he was calm and maintained composure," Kloth said. "He was always the same, no matter if he was working or otherwise."Mr. Roberge met his wife, Paula, on the job and they were married seven years ago. An emergency medical technician in Falmouth, she said he always made sure she was safe on her calls. "He was a good man. He was a great husband," said his wife. "He took good care of me and was always very concerned. He was wonderful . . . a great guy and very outgoing."Being a police officer's wife was nerve-wracking, she said. "You never knew when he walked out the door and said goodbye if it would be the last time," his wife said. "Every day he told me he loved me. He made sure I got a hug and a kiss every day. That's what I'll miss."Mr. Roberge graduated from Yarmouth High School and served four years in the Air Force. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ro- berge leaves a daughter, Heather Gordon of Aberdeen, N.J., and a stepson, Lee Ruby of North Yarmouth. His wife said he was very family-oriented and enjoyed spending time with her son. "He was very good with my son," his wife said. "They loved to do things together. He used to ride in the cruiser with Eddie a lot. He actually decided to go into public safety."

HOULTON - Thelma N. Raymond, 81, died March 31, 2005, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 10, 1924, at Glenburn, the daughter of Irving and Katie (Foster) Pomeroy. Thelma was a member of the Saint Mary's of the Visitation Church. She worked side by side with her husband, Sylvio as the owner and operator of Chadwick's Florist for 34 years. She is survived by her five loving children, Sylvio Raymond Jr., and his wife, Dr. Laurel Pinales of New Limerick, Mary Beaulieu and her husband, Francis, of West Rutland, Vt., Paul Raymond of Houlton, Patricia Fisher and her husband, Randall, of Lewiston, Mike Raymond and his wife, Sharon, of Houlton; 13 grandchildren, Sylvio III, Tim, Peter, Greg, Chrissy, Lori, Mathew, Jeff, Bruce, Karen, Ross, Bethany and Erica; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harrison Pomeroy of Glenburn; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sylvio in 2000. Thelma shared her love of life with all those she came in contact with. She provided unconditional love to her husband, children and other special persons in her life. She will be deeply missed! Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Dunn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at Saint Mary's of the Visitation Church, with the Rev. Eddy Morin celebrant. Interment will be in the Saint Mary's Cemetery. PATTERSON, Audrey Inez Passed away on Friday, March 25, 2005 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Inez was born on July 31, 1912 in Cobalt Ontario, daughter of Audrey Campbell McIntyre and George Gilbert Hadaway Hunt. During her childhood the family lived in Haileybury, North Bay and Pembroke where Inez was Valedictorian of the graduating class at the Pembroke Collegiate. After moving to Ottawa in 1939 she attended the High School of Commerce. In 1941 she married Donald Alexander Gourley and they had two children Judith and Donald. Captain Gourley died in 1947. In 1955 Inez married Lawrence A. Patterson, (Pat) and the family moved to Halifax and five years later to Vancouver, and then Richmond, where they resided until July 2001 when the Pattersons moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta to be near their son and his wife. A business woman for her entire working life Inez always took an active interest in politics and world affairs and for years she was an energetic volunteer with the Canadian Airlines Charitable Donations Committee when she worked for the company. Inez and Pat traveled extensively throughout Canada and the world. Predeceased by an infant brother, her first husband and her parents, Inez is survived by her husband Pat, Medicine Hat, son Don Gourley (Claire), Medicine Hat, daughter Judith Phillips, two grandchildren, Gretchen and Joel Phillips, all from Edmonton as well as several nephews and two cousins. Her family was so important to her and she to all of us. She made such a difference in our lives! We shall all miss her dearly. A service in her memory was held in Medicine Hat, at the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, March 30th at 11:00 am. with Major Brad Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Ottawa, Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, #134 1935-32 Ave NE, Calgary, Alberta. PAQUETTE, Denis Rédemptoriste 1913-2005 À notre infirmerie de Montréal, le 30 mars 2005, après une longue maladie, à l'âge de 91 ans, est décédé le Père Denis Paquette. Né le 7 mai 1913 à Taftville, É.-U., il fit profession religieuse le 15 août 1935. Sa vie missionnaire commença en 1935 au Viet-Nam, où il fut ordonné prêtre à Hanoï en 1941; il demeura au Viet-Nam jusqu'à son expulsion en 1975. De 1976 à 1986, missionnaire en Uruguay; par la suite missionnaire au Canada. Ses dernières années se sont passées à notre infirmerie en priant pour tous ses bons amis convertis et autres. Il laisse dans le deuil, outre sa famille religieuse, plusieurs soeurs et frères, nièces et neveux, et de nombreux amis. Funérailles en l'église St-Alphonse d'Youville, le samedi 2 avril à 1 1 heures. LANESBORO -- Claire Massaconi, 55, of 38 Victoria Lane died yesterday morning at Baystate Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Chicopee on Jan. 28, 1950, daughter of Loretta Ablicki Asselin and the late Robert Asselin, she was a 1968 graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield. She earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, in 1972. She also earned a master's degree in reading from American International College. A teacher, Mrs. Massaconi had been employed by the Pittsfield Public School system for 28 years, retiring in 2001 because of ill health. She first taught in Follow Through in 1972 and then taught at Conte Community School, formerly West Side Community. Following her retirement, she worked part-time at the Community Corrections Center, and taught computers at St. Mark Middle School, Sacred Heart Elementary School and Morningside Community School. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, where she organized and ran the food pantry and the church store. She was also an active participant in the Relay for Life, the Lanesboro Scholarship and after-school tutoring. She and her husband, Mark Massaconi, celebrated their 28th anniversary on Feb. 19. Besides her mother, of Chicopee, and her husband, she leaves triplet sons, Marcus Massaconi, a student at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Joshua Massaconi, a student at Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., and Trevor Massaconi, a student at Seton Hall College in South Orange, N.J., and a sister, Ruth DeStrump of Chicopee. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Claire Asselin Massaconi, age 55, was called safely home on March 31, 2005. The funeral will be Saturday at 9 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Entombment will take place at a later date in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In keeping with Claire's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Baystate Regional Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Damase Bard, 90, of East Hartford, died peacefully on Wednesday (March 30, 2005) at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Jeanne (Perron) Lajeunesse Bard and Marie (Faucher) Bard. He was born in New Canada Plantation, ME on February 2, 1915, a son of the late Henry and Modeste (Gauvin) Bard, and had resided in East Hartford for the past 42 years. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army-Blue Devils 88th Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart when he was wounded in Italy. Prior to his retirement Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford employed him for over 28 years as a carpenter. He was a member of the Pratt & Whitney Retirees Club and a faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford. Damase is survived by three step-children, Rachel Desautelle and her husband, William, of Estero, FL, Claudette Davies and her husband Andrew, of Windsor Locks, Roger Lajeunesse and his wife, Linda, of Winthrop, ME; two brothers, Roland Bard and his wife, Leona, of Broad Brook, Norman Bard and his wife, Jeannine, of Winslow, ME; a sister, Theresa White of Plainville; three brothers-in-law, Raoul Roy of Plainville, Lester Jalbert of Vernon, Robert Perron of Biddeford, ME; four sisters-in-law, Anita Michenewich and her husband, Vincent, in New Hampshire, Theresa Bennett of Falmouth, ME, Simone Perron of Biddeford, ME, Germaine Bard of Wapping; two special friends, Leo Tardiff and Mike Deschaine both of East Hartford; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Francis "Frank" Druhar July 07, 1921 - March 27, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre With sadness in our hearts the family of Francis (Frank) Druhar announce his passing on March 27, 2005. He is at peace. Frank was born in Nashwauk, Minnesota, on July 7, 1921. He was the youngest of four children born to Stephen and Terezia Druhar. At the age of six, his family moved to Canada, settling in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan. His early life was spent in Saskatchewan on the family farm. In 1942, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and moved to Dafoe, Saskatchewan for training. There he met and married Elizabeth (Betty) Heald. After his discharge in 1946, they moved to Ontario settling in rural Thunder Bay (Scoble Township) on the farm Betty loved. Here they lived their married life and raised four children, Barbara (Philip) Payne, Stephen (Donna), Robert (Susan) and Elizabeth Andruski (Dave Canfield). Predeceased by his wife Betty in 1979. He is survived by a sister Mary Britz of Bruno, Saskatchewan, his four children and their families, including nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by numerous family members in Western Canada, Croatia and the United States. Frank loved the land and hard work was no stranger to him. He enjoyed music, dancing, photography and working with wood. During later years he discovered a talent for bowling and accumulated numerous trophies. CONWAY, S.C. -- Francis J. “Frenchie” Desjardins, 73, of Laurel Street, died Tuesday, March 29, at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on Feb. 25, 1932, in Leominister, Mass., the only son of the late Joseph and Clara Desjardins. He retired from a career in the U.S. Air Force and also retired from a career at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Mr. Desjardins was an avid outdoorsman. Before his illness you might find him fishing, golfing or bowling any day of the week. Asselin Sr., is survived by her children, John T. Asselin-Connolly of New London, Laurel Asselin of Willimantic, Raymond Asselin of Texas, and Oliver J. Asselin Jr. of Florida. She is also survived by her brother, Charles J. Dondero and his wife Betty; her niece, Linda Bessette of Windham; and her nephews, Charles H. Dondero also of Windham and Harry Olsen of Manchester; along with her daughter-in-law, Susan M. Asselin-Connolly of New London; eight grandchildren; and her dearest friends, James and Francis Thornton of Florida.Ms. Asselin was a 1942 graduate of Windham High School. TOWNSEND -- Patricia C. (Godfrey) LaPointe, 76, of Townsend, a former longtime Westford resident who had worked in that town at a printing company, died Monday, March 28, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Gerald J. LaPointe, to whom she was married for 57 years.She was born in Boston, on April 17, 1928, daughter of Walter and Lillian (Lawrence) Godfrey. She grew up in Boston's Charlestown, and lived in Salem, Mass., and Westford for many years before moving to Townsend three years ago.Mrs. LaPointe worked at the Webster Plastics Co., and Salem, Mass., and Connie McCarthy Furniture Store in Boston's Charlestown. Before retiring in 1990, she worked for 18 years at Murray Printing Co. in Westford.Besides her husband, her survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra M. Thompson of Westford, Linda M. and Charles Swarms of Merrimac, Mass., and Kimberley S. and Steven Fales, with whom she resided in Townsend; and two granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Amanda Fales, both of Townsend. David P. Grise, 87, of Mill St., Southington, passed away on Thursday, (March 31, 2005) at The Summit at Plantsville. He was the husband of the late Anne (Sullivan) Grise. David was born in Southington on August 25, 1917, and was the son of the late David J. and Mary (Flynn) Grise. He had served in the US Army in the Pacific in World War II. Dave had been an engineer employed by General Electric Co. and retired from there, was at one time a member of the Southington Board of Finance and was active with youth sports in Southington. He had also been parishioner of St. Thomas Church. David will be known by his family and friends as a " Great husband, father and grandfather". Dave is survived by his two son's and a daughter, Dr. David (Duke) Grise of Hartford, Joseph M. and his wife Cheryl W. Grise of West Hartford, and Lynnette A. Grise of Milford along with grandson's Jared J. Grise of Hartford, and Joseph M. Grise of W. Hartford. The funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. in Southington. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
