NORTH YARMOUTH - Edward F. Roberge, 53, lifelong resident of Yarmouth, died Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2005 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.He was born May 2, 1951 in Portland, a son of Robert P. and Helen (DeRoche) Roberge. He graduated from local schools. Mr. Roberge served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in England for three years.He was employed currently as a patrol officer for the Falmouth Police Department where he had been for the last 31 years.He enjoyed his hobby of photography, working with computers and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed spending free time with his family.He is survived by his mother of Yarmouth; his wife of seven years, Paula Roberge of North Yarmouth; a daughter, Heather R. Gordon of Aberdeen, N.J.; a stepson, Lee Ruby of North Yarmouth; a brother, Lawrence Roberge of Yarmouth; a grandson, Liam Gordon of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Monday, Apr. 4, in Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main St., Yarmouth, with Msgr. Paul Stefanko officiating. The Falmouth Police Department will provide Full Police Honors. Spring interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yarmouth. Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth. --- NORTH YARMOUTH - Edward F. Roberge, a 31-year veteran of the Falmouth Police Department who was nicknamed "Steady Eddie" for maintaining composure under any situation, died Wednesday. He was 53. Mr. Roberge loved being a police officer - as much for the people as for the pressure of responding to accidents and crimes. He liked knowing that he could make a difference in someone's life and was proud of the community he served. Falmouth Police Lt. David Kloth, who had worked with Mr. Roberge since he joined the department in March 1974, said he was respected on the job and in the community."He had a wealth of experience and a good working knowledge of the job," Kloth said. "He was a very good police officer. He had a lot of experience, good common sense and good people skills." Fellow officers admired and respected his laid-back personality. During his career, he found himself in the middle of some tense situations. In 1999, Mr. Roberge responded to a truck carrying millions of bees that had overturned on a highway ramp, leaving its cargo swarming around the wreckage. The accident closed the road for nearly eight hours. Several years ago, Mr. Roberge responded to an overturned propane tanker truck that shut down the interstate. "No matter the situation, he was calm and maintained composure," Kloth said. "He was always the same, no matter if he was working or otherwise."Mr. Roberge met his wife, Paula, on the job and they were married seven years ago. An emergency medical technician in Falmouth, she said he always made sure she was safe on her calls. "He was a good man. He was a great husband," said his wife. "He took good care of me and was always very concerned. He was wonderful . . . a great guy and very outgoing."Being a police officer's wife was nerve-wracking, she said. "You never knew when he walked out the door and said goodbye if it would be the last time," his wife said. "Every day he told me he loved me. He made sure I got a hug and a kiss every day. That's what I'll miss."Mr. Roberge graduated from Yarmouth High School and served four years in the Air Force. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ro- berge leaves a daughter, Heather Gordon of Aberdeen, N.J., and a stepson, Lee Ruby of North Yarmouth. His wife said he was very family-oriented and enjoyed spending time with her son. "He was very good with my son," his wife said. "They loved to do things together. He used to ride in the cruiser with Eddie a lot. He actually decided to go into public safety."

TROMBLY, Robert S. - Age 79, of Lapeer, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Alice Simard, 95, formerly of Plainville and New Britain, passed away, on Wednesday, (March 30, 2005) at the Walnut Hill Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Art Simard, who passed away in 1984 and was also the daughter of the late John and Meddie Viollette. Alice leaves behind five sons, Roland and his wife Lorette, of Newington, Bert and his wife Rowena of Southington, Neil and his wife Irene, of Burlington, Lester, of Kensington and Edgar and his wife Tina, of Plainville; three daughters, Mona Blanchette of Plainville, Norma Martin, and her husband Robert of Newington, and Emely Roy of Berlin; a brother Hampy Viollette of Florida; a sister, Elder Bouchard of Fort Kent, ME; 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday April 2, at the New Britain Memorial/Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at the Church of the Holy Spirit, in Newington. LOWELL -- Robert A. Bourgeault, a lifelong Lowell resident and World War II veteran who had been a longtime worker in the city, died Sunday evening, March 27. He was 78.He was born in Lowell on Jan. 18, 1927, a son of the late Victor and Louise (Chouinard) Bourgeault.Mr. Bourgeault served in the Army during World War II, and was discharged at the rank of private first class.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bourgeault was a laborer for many years at Lowell's Department of Public Works. He had been a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church in Lowell. He had also been a member of the C.C.A. Club of Lowell.He is survived by a daughter, Georgette Semon, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Arthur Bourgeault of Lowell; a sister, Rita Mailhot of Nashua; and three grandsons. CHAZY — Rene J. Tetreault, 68, of Chazy passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., with his wife and family by his side.He was born on Dec. 13, 1936, in Chazy, the son of Jean Baptiste and Alexandrine (Fortin) Tetreault.He owned and operated a family dairy farm for many years. He also owned Ken’s Marina and worked as a greens keeper at the North Country Golf Club. He was a 4th degree member, past Grand Knight and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus 3525. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards, but his true love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.Rene is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Caroline (Trombly) Tetreault; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Dave Collins of Edgewater, Fla.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy and Carolyn Tetreault of Chazy and Ronnie Tetreault and Lin Bouvier of Chazy; a granddaughter, Hilary Tetreault; and two grandsons, Kyle Tetreault and Trevor Collins; two sisters, Aline and Al Fessette of Point Au Roche and Angela and Gordon House of Plattsburgh; one brother, Andre and Laura Tetreault of Champlain; his stepmother, Rita Tetreault; sister-in-law, Pat and Roland Tetreault; brothers-in-law, Leo and Liz Trombly and Leon and Pauline Trombly; mother-in-law Beatrice Trombly; and three stepgrandchildren Kristin McAuliffe, Nicolette and Chantal DuBrey; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada.At Rene’s request there will be no calling hours and his remains will be cremated.A memorial Mass will take place on Monday, April 4, 2005, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Coopersville. TANNER, Arthur "Art" George 81, Halifax, passed away March 27, 2005 in the New Halifax Infirmary QEII Health Science. Born in Halifax, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a son of the late Charles and Audrey (Marshall) Tanner. While living in Ottawa, Art was employed with DND, and retired in 1978. He then assumed the position as president of Nova Signal Inc., a subsidiary of Philips Electronics after his retirement from DND. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 65 years, Rita (Murphy) Tanner, Halifax; son, Charles, Halifax; daughters, Judith (Oscar) Curry, New Orleans; Marcia Tanner, Fredericton; granddaughters, Kim Phillips, Taiwan; Leah Phillips, Toronto; nephew David Palmeter, Halifax. HOLYOKE - Teresa M. (Lisewski) LaRoche, 84, of Holyoke died Tuesday at home. She was born in Northampton, daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Gromaski) Lisewski, was educated in the Whately School System and worked for many years at the Hadley Falls Trust Co., in Holyoke. Teresa was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission in Holyoke during the 1960's where she served as their Chairman, a member of the Tax Payers Association and the Women's Republican Club in Holyoke. She is survived by her husband, Howard R. LaRoche, a son, Robert K. and his wife Kathy LaRoche and a daughter, Katharine and her husband Robert Kennedy all of Holyoke, a brother, Peter Lisewski of South Deerfield, a sister, Grace Swiatek of Sunderland, her granddaughter, Jodi A. and her husband Bart Giustina of Enfield and many nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery. Deborah Marcotte, 44, of Chino passed away March 24, 2005, at Chino Valley Medical Center. She was born January 31, 1961, in San Pedro, California and was a resident of Chino for 22 years. She was a data entry operator for 12 years at C.S.S.S. Inc. Deborah was an avid music fan, was a loving mother to her two sons, and a fai thful wife. She is survived by her husband, James Marcotte of Chino; sons, Donovan Marcotte and Ian Marcotte; mother, Mary Lou Castro of Chino; brother, Rick Castro of Poway, CA; sister, Michelle Roberts of Rancho Cucamonga. She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Castro in 2002. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1 at First United Reformed Church, 6159 Riverside Dr., Chino. Archibald: Douglas (Doug) 1937 - 2005 Doug Archibald passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Jack (Peggy) of Mirror, AB, Daun (Annette) of Delburne; and sister Joan Janzen of Drumheller; his eight nieces and nephews and their families; plus his extended family at the Youngstown home where he had resided for the past 24 years. Garson: George William 1924 - 2005 George William Garson passed away peacefully on February 26, 2005 at Drumheller Continuing Care after being in poor health for several months. George was born September 14, 1924 at Conlin House - east of Rollie Leafs place on Ghost Pine Road. George took his schooling at Orkney and later a course at S.A.I.T. in Automotive Electricity. He was good at all electrical work and repairing things. He could take a clock apart and put it back together and make it run. George was a farmer and often helped his mother in house and in the garden. George is survived by three brothers, Victor (Elsie) of Orkney, James of Drumheller, and Allen of Ponoka; sister Alice Moar of Orkney; brother-in-law Frank Huxley of Three Hills; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents James and Violet Garson, two sisters, a brother, and sister-in-law Marjorie Garson. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Courtney-Winter's Funeral Home in Drumheller. Memorial donations may be made to Orkney Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.

Ziegler: Jane Ann 1931 - 2005 Jane Anne Ziegler of Drumheller passed away on March 3, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Jane was born May 21, 1931 in Drumheller, and raised in the community. She resided in Vancouver for many years where she was an active member of the Army and Navy Club. After leaving Vancouver, she resided in Calgary for many years prior to moving back to Drumheller. She will be sadly missed by all her family and numerous friends. Jane was predeceased by her companion Nelson McFarlane in 2004, by her mother Grace Terris, sisters Ethel Boughton and Lynda Brennan. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Monday, March 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Courtney-Winter's Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Hendrickson officiating. AVRAMENKO: Frances F. (nee Snyder) 1920 - 2005 Frances passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years in Continuing Care at the Drumheller Hospital on March 11, 2005 with her family at her side. She was born in Botha, Alberta on March 22, 1920 to Roy and Edith Snyder. She married William Avramenko in November of 1936 and moved to the Rowley area. Frances was predeceased by her husband William in 1993 and by two grandchildren, Anita Sinclair and Howard Jensen. She will be sadly missed by her six children, Marie Jensen, Darlene Sinclair (Robert), Leroy, Allen (Fe-Fe), Norley, and Carol Houghton (Nelson); by 13 grandchildren; by 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Morrin Community Hall, with Harold Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at the Rowley Cemetery.. LAWRENCE: Roy Logan 1918 - 2005 Roy Lawrence of Drumheller passed away in Drumheller Continuing Care on March 11, 2005 at the age of 86. Roy was born and raised on a farm in the Morrin area. He was very active and a life-time member of Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship. Roy was predeceased by his wife Gwen Lawrence in 1995. He married Evelyn (Schedel) in February 1996 at the Pioneer Centre and they continued to be very active members in pool, shuffleboard, and card games. Roy is survived by his wife Evelyn; son Jim (Carolynne) of Cochrane, AB; daughter Judy (Bruce) Little of Drumheller, AB; son Roy (Brenda) of Drumheller, AB; son Bill of Penhold, AB; daughter Bonnie Sanders of Calgary, AB; daughter Wendy (Ron) Stiles of Sylvan Lake, AB; and daughters-in-law, Sherry and Doreen. Roy had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on March 19, 2005 at Elim Pentecostal Church with Pastor Lyle Carbert and Pastor Dan Dannhauer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Roy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

HILLGARDNER: Monica (Schaffer) Monica Hillgardner passed away after a lengthy illness at the University Hospial in Edmonton on Saturday, March 26, 2005. Monica leaves to mourn her husband Gordon Hillgardner; one son Gordon Jr. (Carol); one daughter Vange Lawson (Richard); and one granddaughter Amanda Lawson, all of Edmonton. Monica was predeceased by her parents George and Monica Schaffer, and one brother, Brian. PATTERSON, Matthew Adams (Matt) - Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Monday, March 28, 2005 in his 58th year. Loving husband and best friend of Wendy and father of Ryan and Cameron. Predeceased by sister Elizabeth Pijahn. Sadly missed by nephews Richard and Andrew Pijahn.
