ATHOL— Evelyn Mary (Draleau) Vanderhoof, born May 15, 1929, daughter of the late Lawrence and Laura (Demazure) Draleau died March 25, 2005. She is survived by two children: a daughter Patricia LaBonte of Athol and a son Michael Vanderhoof of Gardner. She leaves four brothers: Gerald Draleau of Gardner, Donald Draleau of Winchendon, Joseph and Charles Draleau of Clinton. She leaves five sisters: Geraldine Savino of Lancaster, Rose Cusson and Rita Sherwood of Clinton, Beverly Capuzello and Theresa Crocker of Fitchburg. There are 43 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews, and many cousins with whom she was very close to. There will be a service at Fiske Funeral Home in Athol on April 2nd and a memorial service at twelve noon on April 9th at the Leominster Church of Christ, West St., with a reception following.

Ronald P. Fontaine, 67, of Londonderry, died March 28, 2005, in his home. Mr. Fontaine was born in Danvers, Mass. on Jan. 8, 1938, a son of the late Raymond and Cecile (Lemieux) Fontaine. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past 32 years, and formerly lived in Beverly, Mass. He was a graduate of St. John's Prep School in Danvers, Mass., Class of 1957, and a graduate of Boston College, Class of 1961, with a bachelor of science degree in finance. He served 20 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. Mr. Fontaine was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed tying his own flies. He was a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry.He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jeannine S. (Bossie) Fontaine of Londonderry; one son, Jonathan R. Fontaine of Londonderry; one brother, Robert Fontaine of Massachusetts; one sister, Anne Hovey of Danvers, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer J. Fontaine, in 1999, and his brother, Norman Fontaine Sr., in 2004.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2, at 10 a.m. in the St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Roadh, Londonderry. Yvonne (Heroux) Gagnon, 101, of Manchester died March 31, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born in Providence, RI on December 8, 1903, she was the daughter of Onesime and Exilda (Bibeau) Heroux. She lived most of her life in Greenland and had also lived in Portsmouth and Lowell, MA before moving to Manchester in 1989. While in Manchester she lived at Myrtle Manor for several years before moving to Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in the mid 1990’s. Mrs. Gagnon was a mill worker at Manchester area mills. She was married to Arthur Gagnon who died in 1961. The family includes a son, Roger F. Gagnon of Bradenton, FL; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 7 pm. in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. Mark E. LeBlanc, 46, of Audubon, NJ, passed away peacefully Thursday (March 31, 2005) at home from a brain tumor. He was born in Athol, MA, November 23, 1958, son of Doris L. (Girouard) LeBlanc of Killingworth and the late A. Robert LeBlanc. Before his illness he was employed at St. Gobain Co, Mickleton, NJ. He was a graduate of Morgan High School Class of 1976, Clinton. Mark enjoyed flower gardening, family, and visits to the ocean. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy. Besides his mother he is survived by his friend and partner for the last 23 years, Larry Gilliam of Audubon, NJ; his paternal grandmother, Irene LeBlanc of Templeton, MA; nine brothers and sisters, Pamela J. Suzanne Knox, 59, of Auburn, died March 29, 2005, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.Mrs. Knox was born in Easton, Pa., on Dec. 20, 1945, a daughter of Kathryn (Brong) Bertolet and the late William Bertolet. She was a graduate of Delaware University and taught school in Dover, Del. She married Captain Bruce Knox and had three children. They lived in Dover, Del., Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico and Hancock Field, Syracuse, N.Y. She moved to Auburn in 1976. In addition to her work with the Cub Scouts, she taught school at the Auburn School and was a Sunday School superintendent at the Longmeadow Congregational Church in Auburn. For the past 15 years, she had been volunteering and working in the Miss Derry and Miss New Hampshire Scholarship pageants as the co-director.She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bruce Knox of Auburn; one son, Stephen Knox of Lodi, N.J.; one daughter, Kristen Collins of Colchester, Conn.; three grandchildren; her mother, Kathryn Bertolet and her brother, William Bertolet, both of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Brian Knox in 1990.There are no calling hours. LAWRENCE -- Gregory James Lessard, 48 years old, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his home in Lawrence.He was born and educated in Lawrence. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Lessard owned and operated Gloucester Seafood Restaurant in Lawrence. He was an attendant of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence. According to his family, he loved all sports including the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. He also loved to cook, loved the race track at Rockingham in Salem, N.H., also Wonderland in Revere, and loved to play cards games including gin and 45's.He is the son of the late Joan M. Lessard, and he is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer M. Lessard, and Heather A. Lessard, both of Haverhill; also two brothers, Norman J. Lessard and his wife Joann, and Christopher R. Lessard, both of Methuen; two sisters, Sharon and her husband Guy Bibeau of Hillsborough, N.H., and Lucia Gonzalez of Methuen; as well as several nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions can be made to the family of Gregory J. Robinson, 92, of Northway Court, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center.She was born in Mooers Forks, N.Y., on March 19, 1913, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Rock) Nephew.Lillian married Thomas P. Robinson on June 13, 1932. Lillian and her husband previously owned and operated Sun-E-Hill Farm and Dairy in Champlain, N.Y. Lillian also owned and operated Lillian's Antiques and Gift Shop in her home, where her handmade items, dolls and antiques were offered. For many years Lillian would display all her beautiful items from her shop at the local county fairs in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties. She was recognized for her volunteer efforts in Clinton County at Meadowbrook and the CVPH gift shop and coffee shop and RSVP.Survivors include her children, Joyce (Harold) Ryan of Saranac, N.Y., Thomas R. Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Philias J. and Isala (Meunier) Savoie, he had been a long time Pawtucket resident. He was the husband of the late Claire J. (St. Goddard) Savoie. Mr. Savoie was a tool and die maker for over 40 years working for several firms including Watervliet Arsenal, General Cable and American Insulated Wire. He loved God and his family, was self educated and an avid reader.
