Wilma H. Burns 1928 - 2004 Wilma H. Burns, 75, of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 6, 2004 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Alma, NB, she was the daughter of the late Norval and Henrietta (Seely) Martin. She grew up and spent her early married years in what is now Fundy National Park, moving to Alma in 1948 and to Riverview in 1965. She loved the outdoors, her flowers, and animals, especially dogs. Her greatest love was her family, to whom she was completely devoted. Wilma will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Otty Burns; daughter, Diana O'Connor (Gary) of Harvey, NB; sons, Murray Burns (Mary) and Paul Burns (Gail) all of Riverview; one sister, Betty Shaffer of Hillsborough; one brother, Graydon Martin (Myra) of Alma; and several nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved "Grammie" to seven grandchildren, Rob Burns, Deborah Mahoney (Dave), Darren O'Connor (Gail), Katherine O'Connor, Owen, Fraser and Emily Burns and by four great-grandchildren, Daniel and Rebekah O'Connor and Hannah and Erin Mahoney. Visitation at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Monday, November 8, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 404 Cleveland Ave., Riverview on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, NB. McCULLUM, EDITH ELIZABETH (ELDER) Edith Elizabeth (Elder) McCullum of White Rapids Manor (formerly of Hoyt) passed away at the Manor on November 6, 2004 at the age of 96. Edith is survived by three daughters Grace Pugh of Fredericton Junction, Florence Cosman (Wesley) of Morna, Elizabeth Byers (Freeman) of Sussex Corner, one son Ronald McCullum (Judy) of Hoyt, one sister Mildred Russell of Taymouth, ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Edith was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church and taught school for several years. She was a member of ACW, WI, LOBA and Hospital Aid and she held numerous offices in these organizations. Edith is predeceased by her parents Annie Edna (Vallis) and John Elder, her husband William Henry McCullum, a son David McCullum, three sisters Jean Rubidge, Florence Urquhart, and Ruth Alexander, two brothers Edward and Robert Elder. Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home for visitation on Monday 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be from St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Fredericton Junction on Tuesday, November 9th, 2004 at 11:30 am with the Rev. Neville Cheeseman officiating. WASSON, CHARLES A. Charles A. Wasson, November 6th 2004, in his 91st year passed away peacefully at home. Born in Maquipit Lake, NB he was the son of the late George and Blanche (Chapman) Wasson. Charlie's wife and family were the center of his life. His legacy of devotion, love patience and kindness, lives on in the family and friends whose lives have been touched by his gentle spirit. Survived by his loving wife Lalah (Palmer) Wasson of Maquipit Lake, NB; two sons, Ted (Betty) of Maquapit Lake, NB and Phillip (Kim) of Bradenton, FL; two daughters Donna Macdiarmid (Roger) of French Lake, NB and Sandra Larsen (Gary) of Edmonton, AB; a special family friend Carole Kochanski of Oromocto, NB; eight grandchildren, Pamela Purves, Jack Purves, Buffy McLaughlin, Kurt Wasson, Candace Hughson, Shelley Cameron, Ben Wasson and Matt Wasson; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by a sister Edyth Colwell. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home 327-3490 with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. JOHNSON, ROBERT JOSEPH The death of Robert Joseph Johnson husband of Terezinha (Costa) of Mactaquac occurred on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Perth Andover, he was the son of the late Charles and Edith (Francis) Johnson. Robert enjoyed hunting, family life and his church. Robert worked as a counselor helping families of First Nations and giving seminars to First Nations across Canada, the Northwest Territories and Inuvit. He received his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Maine Orono. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Holden and Jason Johnson at home; one daughter, Jessica Johnson at home; Ivan Johnson and his wife Louella of Tobique First Nation, Fred Johnson and his wife Joanne of Riverview, Eldon Johnson and his wife Donna of Ont, Donald Johnson and companion Joanne of Saint John, Frank Johnson and his wife Nancy of St. George, Daryl Johnson and his wife Maple of Newfoundland; three sisters, Audrey Graham and her husband Linn of Utah, Edith Coleman of Washington, Sandra Paul and husband Stewart of Tobique First Nation; several nieces and newphews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by one brother, Herman and one sister, Elizabeth. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, November 9, at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. Born in Toronto, ON, he was the son of Howard W. Thomas of Quispamsis and Carol (Shephard) Thomas of Toronto, ON. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his step-mother, Lyndia Thomas of Quispamsis; one son, Shawn of Owen Sound, ON; three step-children, Frances, Lori and Randy Patten, all of Ontario; one brother, Ricky; one sister, Lisa Robb (Robert), both of Toronto, ON; two step-sisters, Tracy Brewer (Timothy) of Fairfield and Natalie Beaman (Robert) of Quispamsis; one granddaughter, Sabrina; five step-grandchildren; grandmother, Anne Wallace (John) of Midland; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Colleen Diane Maracle (née Hennigan) August 16, 1941 - November 06, 2004 Funeral arrangements by L. G. BAUER, RICHARD M.S. - The death of Richard M.S. Bauer, loving husband of Mary E. (Stackhouse) Bauer, of Ridgewood Veteran's Hospital, occurred peacefully on Sunday November 7, 2004 at his residence. Born 1921 in Saint John, he was the son of the late James and Daisy Ruth (Lummus) Bauer. Richard was a veteran of WWII, serving with the RCAF as a Pilot Officer and Wireless Air Gunner, attached with the RAF. He was a man of deep religious faith and was known for his knowledge of the bible. Richard was a wonderful and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his loving wife Mary, he is survived by his children Stephen (Valerie) of Saint John, Peter (Margaret) of Rothesay and Jane Abrams (Greg) of Grand Bay-Westfield; four grandchildren Leah, Michael, Emily and Rachael; brother Guy Bauer (Sue) of Guelph, Ontario; sister Faith Clarke of Mississauga, Ontario; many nieces and nephews. By request there will be no visitation. Myrtis Beryl Sangster March 01, 1914 - November 07, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) SANGSTER, Myrtis Beryl - 90, New Harbour, Guysborough Co., it is with joy and sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Myrtis Sangster on November 7, 2004, in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Mom was born on March 1, 1914, the eldest child of Sanford and Hughenia (O'Hara) Gillie, and a sister to Basil and Roy. She was a fine Christian woman who worked hard and believed that "anything worth doing is worth doing well". In 1933, Mom graduated from the Provincial Normal College in Truro. She taught in several Guysborough County schools until her marriage to G. Oren Sangster in 1936. She was an active member of New Harbour Baptist Church, serving as Church Clerk, President of the Women's Missionary Group, and organizer of many Christmas concerts. She had an 'open door' policy to all who would enjoy a home cooked meal and was well-known for her baked goodies. Mom brought up all four of us children to believe in the Lord Jesus. She set an example to live and walk justly before our Lord by taking us to church herself each week. After the passing of our father in 1956, Mom returned to the classroom, teaching in Lower New Harbour and Goldboro. She later moved to Halifax to be near her kids and taught in Harrietsfield, retiring in 1979. Mom was a teacher of excellence and expected her students, as she did her own children, to give their best. After moving to Halifax, Mom became a member of West End Baptist Church and was active in her Missionary Group as well as serving on the Visitation Committee. She enjoyed filling her car full of her friends and visiting shut-ins. In 1994, Mom was diagnosed with dementia and had to give up her car and apartment. She lived for two and a half years under the care of Barb LaPierre in Lower Sackville, and then moved to Bridgewater to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mona and George MacAdam. There she attended Pleasantville Baptist Church. She spent many weekends visiting all of her children until July 2004, when she moved to Arborstone Enhanced Care. Mom will be greatly missed by her children, Joan (Bob) Ryan, Mona (George) MacAdam, Audrey (Wilf) Peverill, Oren (Dianne) Sangster; grandchildren, Darrell, Derrick (Marlyn) and Darren (Michelle) Giffin, Pamela (Sean) Coleman and Andrew (Denise) MacAdam, Mark (Kathy) Peverill and Shawna Peverill, Jeffrey (Andrea), Shaun (Laura), and Matthew Sangster (Janette Crane, fiancé); great-grandchildren, Michael and Hailey Giffin, Matthew Burns, Kyle and Emily Giffin, Spencer, Hudson, Skylar and Payton MacAdam, Liam and Emma Coleman, Jonathan and Andrew Peverill, Benjamin, Zachary and Saffi Sangster; brothers, Basil (Erma) and Roy Gillie; as well as many nieces and nephews. Johnson Nancy Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Sunday November 7, 2004 in her 85th year. Nancy (nee Clayton), of Newmarket and formerly of Holly and Midland. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Johnson and loving mother of Rosemary Bland, Patricia Carmichael, Ian Michael, Deborah Wallis, Keith and the late Ralph and David. Proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Cyril, Brian, Edna and the late Arthur and Mary. She will be lovingly remembered as a nursing sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket from 2-6 & 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Anglican Church (Church & D'arcy Streets, Newmarket) on Tuesday at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Newmarket Cemetery. Elle demeurait à Québec et était native de Saint-Sylvestre. La famille vous accueillera à la Salle municipale de Saint-Elzéar 707, Principale, St-Elzéar lundi de 19h à 21h et le mardi, jour des funérailles, à compter de 13h. NORMAND BOYER, Cécile 1914-2004 À St-Constant, le 6 novembre 2004, à l'âge de 90 ans, est décédée Mme Cécile Boyer (Normand), épouse de feu Louis Normand.
