Stanger: Donald Norman 1952 - 2004 Donald Norman Stanger of Munson, Alberta died suddenly October 19, 2004, doing the work he loved. He was born in Drumheller on September 7, 1952, the eldest son of Ron and Marie Stanger. Don spent his early years in Munson and Drumheller and later attended SAIT where he received his Interprovincial License as an Automotive Mechanic He worked at various dealerships over the years including John Deere in both Drumheller and Hanna, but his real passion was for farming. He married his best friend Linda Willson in February, 1976 and from then farming and family became his life.Don was a member of the Drumheller Lions Club, a leader in the 4-H Lamb Club, and was actively involved in minor hockey as a supportive dad and coach both in Drumheller and Calgary. He played recreational hockey, loved waterskiing, was an avid NASCAR fan and loved vacationing with family and friends. Don is survived by his loving wife Linda, their children Jennifer, Darci, and Aaron, his father Ronald Stanger, brother David (Angie), sister Jeannette, and brother-in-law Jim (Veronica) Willson, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Don was predeceased by his mother Marie in 1997. As a husband, father and friend, There could be no one better. So committed, faithful and true, An inspiration to each of us. We will miss you dearly until We?re together again. We love you, Your family and friends. Vaisnis: Richard Alan April 11, 1955 - October 12, 2004 Richard Vaisnis passed away on October 12 in the Victoria, British Columbia General Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Richard was born in Drumheller on April 11, 1955 and resided in Duncan, B.C. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Cindy, and four children - Scott, Danny, Samantha, and Kyle - of Duncan, B.C. He is also survived by his mother, Rae Vaisnis (Russell Styba) of Cowichan Bay, B.C.; two brothers: Tim (Shawna) Vaisnis of Drumheller and Tony (Pat) Vaisnis, as well as nieces Susan and Kimberley, of Calgary, Alberta; one sister, Raelene Vaisnis of Pinehurst, North Carolina. Richard was predeceased by his father, Vit Vaisnis, in 1975. A memorial service will be held at a later date. No flowers, by request. Pentelchuk: Constantine 'Gus?' June 3, 1930 ? October 7, 2004 Gus passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital with his daughters by his side. He was 74 years old. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Pentelchuk (Duane Kadey) and Tammy Katyi, nee-Pentelchuk, (Jason Katyi), children of Myrtle Christensen, and his two precious grandchildren Emily and Michael Katyi. He leaves behind 2 sisters, Mary Bowles (Ontario) and Martha 'Marty' Christensen (B.C.), sister-in-law Elsie Pentelchuk, nieces Karen Ranville and Christine Pentelchuk, nephew David Pentelchuk and numerous other nieces and nephews across Canada. Gus was a strong, loving man who will be greatly missed by all those friends and family he has left behind. May he find peace with the Lord our God. Services and internment were held October 12th, in Hussar, Alberta. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to him. Powell: Michael 1917 - 2004 Mike Powell, beloved husband of Jeanette Powell, of Taber, passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Friday, October 15, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Mike was born in Taber on July 28, 1917 where he was raised and educated. On March 1, 1941, he married Jeanette Carley. For a number of years, Mike farmed in the summer and worked for the Town of Taber during the winter months at the skating rink and later was employed by McDonald Chev Olds. Mike also served on Taber Town Council for 21 years. He was an avid pin collector. Besides his loving wife Jeanette, Mike is survived by his three children, Judy (Jerry) of Drumheller, Patricia Powell and David (Shurron) Powell all of Taber; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers John Korsa and George (Carol) Korsa; by his sisters Ann Allen, Mary Peterson and Helen Peterson; his sister-in-law Olga Powell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents and by his brothers George, William and Alex. Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, October 18, 2004 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Jim Lockhead officiating. Kostiuk: Michael October 11, 1924 - October 4, 2004 Suddenly on October 4, 2004, Mike Kostiuk of Grandview, Manitoba, passed away at his home at the age of 79 years. Mike was born on October 11, 1924 in Rossburn, Manitoba. As a young child, he moved with his parents to the Riding Park Community south of Grandview, Manitoba. He attended school at the Sugar Loaf Country School. Mike left school at an early age to work on the family farm. In his early 20's he tried the mining occupation in Red Rock, Ontario but within 2 years returned to farming. He farmed together with his father and brothers John and Walter for over a span of 50 years. Even though he had retired to Grandview in 1996, he still was helping his brothers with the farming. Mike will also be remembered for his love of carpentry and woodworking; the scent of the woods and the intricate wood grain patterns gave him great pleasure. Mike demonstrated his skills in the construction of many benches, chairs and birdhouses including many carpentry projects for his family and friends. He also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. In 1967, Mike took over from his father, the position of Church Elder/Server at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riding Park and held the position until his death. He also served as Secretary - Treasurer for the church since 1965, often holding the Church Annual Meeting in his home. He was determined to keep the church operating and functional. Mike loved to camp in the Duck Mountains and especially enjoyed quading with his brother John and many of his friends. He also enjoyed hunting for deer, elk and moose. Mike married Nellie Chychowski on November 5, 1950 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Riding Park. Mike and Nellie raised their two wonderful daughters on their farm south of Grandview, Manitoba. Mike was predeceased by his wife Nellie and his parents Fred and Lillian Kostiuk. Left to mourn and cherish fond memories of Mike are his two daughters, Shirley and her husband Ken Briault of Drumheller, Alberta, and Marlene and her husband Cliff Sul of Winnipeg, Manitoba, his two brothers, WaIter and John of Grandview and his sister Olga and her husband Bill Runnalls of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mike is also survived by his three sisters-in-law: Ann Kachan, Lillian Kozakowski, Olga Chychowski, all of Grandview, Manitoba, two brothers-in-law: Matt Chychowski and his wife Shirley of Brandon, Manitoba and Mike Pullock of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan. There are many nieces, nephews, extended families, and many friends. Prayers were offered on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. from the Grandview St. Elias Ukrainian Catholic Church. Divine Liturgy and funeral service was held from the Church on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. Father Oleg Bodnarski officiated and the interment followed in the Riding Park Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish Cemetery. His two daughters offered a tribute to their father. Active pallbearers were Mike Kaminsky, Daniel Kaminsky, Eugene Kachan, Orest Kachan, David Kozakowski, Dwayne Pullock. All Mike's family and friends were to consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. Donations in memory of Mike may be made to Riding Park Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish Cemetery Fund. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Service of Dauphin had care of the arrangements.

CONWAY, Leonne. Peacefully and surrounded by her family at home on the farm, on October 29, 2004. Mrs. Leonne Conway (Wilson) of Chute-a-Blondeau, Ontario, passed away at the age of 72. She was the beloved wife of the late Lorne Conway, dear daughter of the late Ernest Wilson and the late Marie-Ange Quenneville of Chute-a-Blondeau. Loving mother of Iven, Jane (Ron Wylie), Gordon (Colette Cadieux), Terry (Catherine Woosey), Line (Nasr Dabee), Paul (Marie-Josee Lacroix), Doris and Johanne (Darren Barton). Cherished grandmother of Tanya, Steven, Valerie, Josee, Mona, Shara-Louise, Corey, Cynthia, Graydon, Timothy, Nadia, Jasmine, Emma, Jessica and Adam. Gagne, Albert Albert Joseph Gagne passed away on October 30, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Thunder Bay, Ontario, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Iroquois Falls, Ontario on June 24, 1924 to Joseph and Mary Gagne. He received his formal education in Iroquois Falls and Timmins. Before enlisting in the war, he worked briefly with a paper manufacturing company. He enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in WWII and served from 1943 to 1946, two years of which was overseas, in Chemical Warfare and Firefighting. After the war he worked for mining and paper manufacturing companies. In June 1957 he was joined in marriage to Marjory Gibson of Timmins. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with his family. Albert was employed as a Stationary Engineer by Abitibi in Smooth Rock Falls from 1965 to 1971, and by Boise Cascade Paper Company in Fort Frances from 1971 until his retirement in 1987. In 1995 he and Marjory moved from Fort Frances to Thunder Bay. Albert is survived by his four children: Vicki Gagne-Smith (Steve Smith), Thunder Bay, Bert (Karen Homich), Fort Frances, Mary and husband Greg Herrmann, Fort Frances, Debbie Gagne, Niagara Falls, four grandchildren Jennifer Cadarette (Justin), and Joel Gagne of Windsor, Danny and Carly of Niagara Falls, two great grandchildren Gwynn and Meagan Cadarette of Windsor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his wife Marjory in January 1998, his parents, two brothers and seven sisters. Violet was born October 16, 1910 in England. A long-time resident and homemaker of the West Kildonan area. Vi "Gramma" was also an avid crib player, participating in "crib nite" at Red River Community Centre, for many, many years. Radke: Ryan Walter January 11, 1953 - October 3, 2004 Ryan Walter Radke passed away on October 3, 2004 at his beloved farm in Hand Hills, Alberta. Born in Hanna on January 11, 1953, Ryan spent his entire life in the Hand Hills. He took over his father?s (Walter Radke) farm after marrying Geraldine Harvey (his highschool sweetheart) in 1972. Ryan also worked as the security supervisor for Sheerness, where his mischievious smile will be missed by all. Ryan will be forvever remembered as a hardworking husband, a brilliant father, a generous brother and a loving son. His dry humour and subtle smirk were hard to escape and will be lovingly remembered by all he touched. Ryan will be missed by his wife Gerry, his 3 daughters Danielle (Darin), Andrea and Chelsea, as well as his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Stacey. The loss of Ryan will also be felt by his mother Bertha Radke, brother Reg, mother-in-law Elsie Harvey, sister-in-law Shirley (Garry) Keibel, brother-in-law Allan (Anne) Harvey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Dorothy Tuttle, 91 Dorothy Ethel Tuttle, 91, died October 4 at her Brockville home, where she lived with her daughter, after an 18-month illness with cancer. She was born July 29, 1913 in Williamsburg Township to Thomas Black and the former Dora Brown. On November 17, 1933, she married Maurice Hilliard Tuttle in Chesterville. They farmed in the area until 1954, when they moved their family to Brockville. Mrs. Tuttle worked as a server at Scott's Restaurant and later worked in the kitchen at the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital. After retiring, she babysat in her home for many years. Finally, she had a most memorable employment as a nanny for Clinton and Judith Culic until ill health forced her to stop working. For many years, she and her friends gathered weekly for a night of euchre, which she loved to play. She also bowled on a five-pin league at the local bowling alley until it was torn down. She was an avid bingo player. Mrs. Tuttle is survived by six daughters and two sons: Charles Tuttle and wife Louise of Barrie, Margaret Gallinger and friend Garry Spence of Athens, Betty Gaudin of Brockville, Janet Bellemore of Maitland, Shirley Gardiner of Kitley-Elizabethtown Township, Ron Tuttle and friend Josie Close of Lyn, Audrey Sutherland of Brockville and Helen Greene and husband Al of Brockville. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren, numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, a sister Edith Whittaker of Iroquois and several nieces/nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Grace Tuttle; two sons, Donald and Reginald Tuttle; and six brothers, Tom, Charlie, Bill, Grant, Stanley, Murray and her twin sister Grace Dora Black. The Barclay Funeral Home, Brockville, made funeral arrangements and a memorial service was held October 7 in the chapel at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland, with Rev. Geri Johnston officiating. Cremation and burial followed. Memorial donations were directed to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care or the Canadian Cancer Society. Lyla Wing, 84 Lyla Ruby Wing, 84, died October 8 at Brockville General Hospital. She was born May 3, 1920 in Augusta Township, the daughter of Herbert Thomas Newans and the former May McLean. She grew up in Maynard and kept house for her father on the family farm there. She later moved to Brockville, where she worked as a custodian at Brockville Collegiate Institute for 25 years until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Brockville 39 Club, enjoyed cooking, dancing and music, and driving new cars. Her main interests were her home and family. Mrs. Wing is survived by her two sons, Glen and friend Barbara of Kingston and Ron and wife Carol of Kitchener; three grandchildren, Glenda Brooks and spouse Chris LaFave, Shelly Wing and spouse Amy Wing-Pidgeon, and Christopher Wing; and three great-grandchildren, Jason, Ryan and Jason. Friends called at the Barclay Funeral Home, Brockville, where on October 12 the funeral was held, with Curt Boyko of the Brockville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial followed at Maynard Cemetery. Memorial donations were directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Bryann Priscilla Petronella Lange ---- Tragically, on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, we lost our little Angel Bryann, daughter of Arnold and Kim of Dufresne, Manitoba at the age of 2 1/2 years. Bryann is survived by her loving parents, Arnold and Kim; big brother Jonathan; big sister Ria; Willy and Maria Lange (Oma and Opa); John and Priscilla Loates (Grandma and Grandpa); great-Oma Dirks and great-granddad L.W. Kertland; aunties and uncles, Heather Loates; Keith Loates, Harry and Cindy Lange, Gerrie and Jeff Stolz, Pieter and Wendy Lange, Bart Lange and Rebecca Marchinko; cousins, Derek, Ryan, Nicole, Amy, Isabelle, Damon, Owen and Emily; and many very special aunties, uncles and friends. She was predeceased by her uncle Bryan Loates; great-grandparents, Jean and Albert Loates, Evelyn Kertland, Geertruda and Arnoldus Bongers, Hendrikus Lange and Peterus Dirks. Prayers were held on Friday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Anola, Manitoba (West of #12 North on Hwy. 15.)
