Gladys Eldridge (nee Scott) - Gladys passed away on Tuesday, March 16 after a short illness. She is survived by Mart (David), her husband of 57 years; son Roy (Debbie) and grandsons Matthew and Mark; daughters Donna Morton, and Heather (Steve) Hargreaves and grandchildren Holly (Aaron), Heidi (Ben) Page, and Sean (Cheri); brother Phil (Olive) and Ron (Lu); sister Dolly (Ken) Cave; plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Clara Scott; sisters Jessie, Elsie, Ethel, Violet, Edith, Elizabeth, Vera and Anne; and brothers Walter, Fred and Cecil. Gladys was born on April 29, 1916 in Rotherham, England. At the age of four, the family sailed to Montreal, where they resided in the Pointe. After finishing school, she worked for Imperial, Rothman’s and Northern Electric and as a domestic. She completed a Trained Attendants Course and worked for the St. John’s Ambulance and at the Montreal General and as a private nurse. After her marriage to Mart, Gladys became a full-time army wife and mother, raising her children during Mart’s frequent absences on duty. She lived in Shilo, Winnipeg, Soest and Montreal before moving back to Winnipeg in 1969. She was involved in many of her childrens’ and community activities as a volunteer. Gladys was a long-time member of the St. John Ladies Bowling League at the Uptown Lanes. In recent years, she belonged to the Winnipeg Seniors Choir and Bell Ringers. She was a regular participant in Aquacises at the Pan Am Pool. In her apartment block, she enjoyed the bingo and card nights. She appreciated the care and support she received at the Riverview Day Hospital. Time spent with her family and her five grandchildren was precious to her. She was looking forward to seeing her first great-grandchild to be born this April. Special thanks are given to Dr. Lee who used his skills and effort to try to give her the quality of life she desired. We also say thanks to the staff of the ICU at the Victoria General Hospital and to the staff of the SICU at the St. Boniface Hospital, especially Lisa and Shirley. At Gladys’ request, no service will be held. Donations may be made in her memory to the Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. Thanks for always being there for us, Mom. Jack Macready April 24, 1918 - February 17, 2001 Mr Jack Macready, 82 years, of Thunder Bay passed away in Toronto on Feb 17/01 after a lengthly illness. Mr Macready, a lifelong resident of Fort William, had recently been a resident of Toronto for 2 years at The Wexford Home for the Aged and at the Veteran's Wing of Sunnybrook Medical Centre. Mr. Macready was born in Toronto where he attended public school. His summers often were spent in Bracebridge Ontario. He moved to Fort William where he attended The Vocational High School. He lived with His Aunt and Uncle, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E Jessop of Hamilton Ave. In 1941 after the outbreak of the second world war, Mr. Macready joined the Royal Canadian Air Force attending No 6 Elementary Flight Training School in Prince Albert Sask . He subsequently graduated from the Air Observers School as an Air Navigator with a commission to rank of Pilot Officer at Portage La Prarie Manitoba Sept 1942. P/O Macready was posted overseas and served on operations as a Navigator with 6 Group (RCAF) of Bomber Command where he was stationed at Leeming (408 Sqdn) and Tholthorpe (434 Sqdn) in York. Shortly after his posting he was reported missing in action on Aug 27, 1943 near Nuremburg after his aircraft was shot down on a night mission. He managed to escape from his burning aircraft by parachute and landed in a tree injuring his back. He was subsequently captured and intered at Stalag Luft III "Sagan" in Poland where he remained for the rest of the war. He was eventually liberated by the Russians as they advanced westward to Berlin in the spring of 1945. He was promoted to rank of Flight Leutenant upon repatriation with his unit in England in 1945. After returning to Canada he was married to Zena M Rendall, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs William Rendall of Fort William and with whom he had 3 children, John, James and Barbara. Mr. Macready subsequently completed his senior matriculation at Fort William Collegiate and then attended the Ontario College of Pharmacy from which he graduated with his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1949. After graduation he worked with his uncle, Mr E Jessop and eventually took over ownership and operation of Jessops Pharmacy at Simpson and Ogden St. in Fort William. He was an active member of the Thunder Bay Pharmaceutical Association for many years and served his community honorably as a health care professional and businessman and in many other capacities. He was a member of Wesley United Church. Although he worked long hours in his pharmacy Mr Macready loved to spend time with his wife and family at his cottage at Chippewa where he enjoyed fishing and boating and woodworking. Although it never came to fruition his dream was to retire at Chippewa park and enjoy the beauty of Lake Superior. He was predeceased by his wife Zena In 1978. He is survived by 3 children, John (Pam) in Vancouver. James (Lois) in Thunder Bay and Barbara Kansun(Morris) of Toronto. He is also survived by Angela Macready. He has five grandchildren Laura J Macready, Ottawa, Colin A Macready, Toronto, Jeffrey, Robbie and Alexandra Kansun of Toronto. He was sincerely loved by his family and friends and he will be sorely missed by all those who knew him for his great sense of humour and zest for life. A celebration of Mr. Macreadys life will be held at the Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue, in Thunder Bay South at 11:00 a.m. on Friday February 23, 2001. The family will receive friends at Jenkens Funeral Home on Thursday evening, February 22, 2001 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery on Saturday. Neither flowers nor donations are requested.

Domenico Flumiani Peacefully at the Townsview Lifecare Centre on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Gina (nee Bressanutti) for 61 years. Dear father of Sergio and Rosa, Ennio and Judy. Loving grandfather of Joanne, Steven, Terri and Mark, and great-grandfather of Matthew and Scott Waters. Survived by his sister Lucine Narduzzi of Italy. Survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Italy, France and Switzerland. A special thanks to Donna, Gina and the staff of the Townsview Lifecare Centre. Domenico was a founding member of the Famee Furlane Social Club. Visitation at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Vigil Prayers will be on Friday at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at All Souls Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.

Frances Victoria Sargeant Peacefully at the Concordia Hospital on Monday September 8, 2003 after a lengthy illness, Frances Sargeant passed away at the age of 72 years. Her passing is mourned by her loving husband Murray, 2 sons Brad and Brent, one sister Doreen (Wendal), 3 brothers Les (Marian), Andy (Pearl) and Lyle (Gail), 16 nieces and nephews, and many friends. Frances was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Alice, her nephew Raymond, mother-in-law Bessie and by one brother-in-law Allan. Mom was born and raised in and near Rathwell, Manitoba. She carried fond memories throughout her life of her childhood on the farm and later in the town. As a young woman, Frances worked as a telephone operator for MTS. She and Murray met while they were both working in Treherne. They married on July 12, 1958 and enjoyed 45 years of loving marriage. They lived in Arborg, Ashern and Winkler before moving to Winnipeg, in 1966. Mom worked in the Central Processing Department at Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre from 1966 until her retirement in 1996. Mom and Dad made many friends through the years including neighbors in Winnipeg and at Beresford Lake where they enjoyed natures security. Mom's greatest pleasure in life was caring for her family. She was a skilled baker and loved to share her treats with any that came through the door. She was active as a Cub Leader for many years. She took great pride in her son's successes. Children were Mom's greatest pleasure. She loved visits from her nieces and nephews as small children, and as they matured, she watched their successes with satisfaction. Mom enjoyed her flower garden very much. She took great pleasure in watching it develop through the summer. We will miss her phone calls and the sound of delight in her voice as she announced each new bud and bloom. The family would like to thank the staff of the Concordia Hospital Oncology Outpatient Department, the staff on N3E at Concordia Hospital, and especially Dr. Pat Harris for the months of care and loving which they gave mom. They all helped both mom and her family with their kindness, thoughtfullness and care. With respect for Mom's wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Services will be held in the Rathwell Memorial Hall on Friday September 12, 2003 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Bruce Faurschou officiating. Interment to follow in the Woodlands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Concordia Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. We will miss you, Mom. Mr Leonard Alfred Henry Watling September 12, 1925 - May 17, 2004 LEONARD ALFRED HENRY WATLING September 12, 1925 – May 17, 2004 Today we said goodbye to our most precious husband, Dad and Grandpa. He was surrounded with love from his wife, children and grandchildren. Our hearts are filled with sadness at the loss of our hero, role model and best friend. He worked hard, he gave from the heart, and proudly loved his family. A true gentlemen who always saw the best in people, with never an unkind word. Len’s passion was photography and he successfully ran his own business, “The Art Centre” for a number of years prior to joining DND (1955-1964). From 1964 until retirement in 1985, Len served as the Official Photographer at Royal Roads Military College. This was a career he truly loved and he made many long-lasting friendships with the cadets and college staff. Len lived his life with dignity and trademark humor – his one - liners are truly legendary! Without question, the world is a better place because he was here. Dad , as you loved us, we will always love you. Left to cherish happy memories are his loving wife of fifty-three years, Ella May, children: Louise (James) Troy, Gerri (Colin) Magee, Maggie (Victor) Skaarup and son, David. Also grateful for his presence are grandchildren: Jamie Troy (girlfriend Ryan MacDonald), Jacquie Troy, Gordon (Lillian) Magee, and Erin Watling; sister Elsie Fraser and numerous nieces and nephews. The family thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care. A Celebration of Len’s Life will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church, 1806 San Juan Avenue. Alexander Yakel November 25, 1919 - April 22, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of their beloved husband, father and grandfather Alexander Yakel, on Tuesday, April 22, 2003. Alex passed away suddenly but peacefully at the age of 83. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Florence, his sons Kent (Eleanor), Donald and his daughter Marnie (Cherrie), grandchildren Carolyn, Gordon, Stephen (Christina), Jonathan (Laura) and Kaitlyn Yakel, Jordan (Shannon), Davin, Cameron and Graeme (Sherry) Bonham and his five great granddaughters Erin, Paige, Grace, Emily and Isabelle. He is also survived by his brother Bill and sister-in-law Emma Yakel, sister-in-law Peg Bancroft, brothers-in-law Lou Rosen and Wilf Wier (B.C) as well numerous nephews and nieces who thought the world of Uncle Alex. Alex was born on November 25, 1919 in Winnipeg. He met and married "Flo" in 1941 and they lived most of their married life in the house he built for them. Alex worked until retirement at Winnipeg Transit but his real talent was his carpentry and his ability to fix almost anything. He was always interested in learning new things and believed in a job well done. Alex curled for many years at Elmwood Curling Club both in a men?s league and together with Flo and many of their friends and family in a mixed league. He was also an avid golfer and was looking forward to playing again with his son. Alex also loved travelling with Flo and they had many great winter vacations together as well as great times at Muriel Lake in the sumêmer. Alex?s greatest joy was his family and his best times were when they were all together talking, laughing, singing, playing the harmonica and doing magic tricks for the grandchildren or just alone, with Flo, watching Jolson movies or dancing to their favourite song. Alex loved his life and always appreciated everything he had. Please join us for a memorial service to take place on Saturday April 26, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road. Anna Josephine Gaul (née Mel) September 20, 1921 - April 22, 2003 GAUL, Anna Josephine (nee Mel) 81 years, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 22, 2003. Predeceased by her beloved husband John A. (1987) and her infant son John Charles (1946). Loving mother of JoAnn Jean Gaul & her husband Kevin Emerson, New Jersey, and Mary-Jane & husband Gino Campigotto. Beloved Granny of Anna Hope Emerson, and Aaron, Adam, Alisha, and Angelica Campigotto. Dear sister of Madeline Ebear, Mrs. Joseph Van Linden (Marie), John Mel (Celia), Mrs. Donald Castaldi (Dorothy), and the late Jean Mel, sister-in-law of Raymond Gaul (Mae), and beloved Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Magnusson "Mike" Magnus Gudlaugur November 02, 1919 - January 22, 2004 Magnus (Mike) Gudlaugur Magnusson, beloved husband of Doris of Redwood Meadows, AB passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Born on November 2, 1919 in Lundar, MB, Mike moved to Winnipeg at an early age. He married Doris in 1938 in Winnipeg and they had recently celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mike served with pride as a pilot in World War II in the RCAF and he retained many wartime friendships through the Air Crew Association in Calgary and Winnipeg. Mike retired from Moore Business Forms after a lengthy career, which took him from Winnipeg to Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary and finally retiring in Redwood Meadows, where they resided for the past twenty-six years. He was very active in the Redwood Meadows community and served in many positions. Mike was an avid golfer and curler and enjoyed woodworking throughout his lifetime. Mike is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years Doris; their children, Al (Dora), Norm (Delene), Tom (Linda), Brian (Mary) and Sandra (Stacy) Smith; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Joy, Ruby, Violet and numerous friends and relatives. Mike was predeceased by his brother Gus Sigurdson. Penny Marguerite Drouillard, 50 years, peacefully on March 26, 2003 at her home in Tecumseh. Beloved daughter of John and Rita Drouillard (nee Seguin). Dear sister of Bob and Trish Drouillard, of Tecumseh; Mike Drouillard, of Emeryville; Pat and Fred Momêmersteeg, Nanette and Joe Nirta, all of Rochester, Mi. Dear aunt of Jennifer and Phil Jobin; Jessica, Ashley and Chelsey Drouillard; Adam, Ben, Amie Mommersteeg; Lia, Daniel and Allison Nirta. “Special Sister” of Elaine and Brandie and will be remembered by her friends at Northshore Resource Centre and will be missed by many caring people at the Essex County Association for Community Living. Irene May Pullen Oprin Peacefully following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Irene May (Pullen) Orpin on Friday, April 18, 2003 at Grace Hospital with Kenn her husband of 25 years & her family by her side. Irene in her 78th year will be sadly missed by her husband Kenn Orpin, children Wayne (Elaine), Sandra, Rick (Pam), Wayne, Tom (DaraLee), Bruce (Annette), 15 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild , sister Dorothy Polarik of Sarnia, Ontario and several nieces and nephews. Irene was born and raised on the family farm in Ontario. In 1958 she moved to Winnipeg and joined the military. She attained the rank of second lieutenant before pursuing other careers which included Medical Assistant and Lab Technician, along with a hectic work schedule she still managed to raise a family and maintain many hobbies. She enjoyed her lapidary work, sewing, painting ceramics, leather craft and many, many more. A botanist at heart she tended not only to her garden, but that of family and friends. The trailer in Beausejour provided the perfect sumêmer getaway for Irene and Kenn. She lived her life to the fullest and will be sadly missed. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 22 between 7 :00 p.m. and 9 :00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Avenue. Wilhelm Kruse On May 7, 2004 at Concordia Hospital, surrounded by his family and with the courage and dignity which personified his life, our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather and great - grandfather completed his life journey. This remarkable journey began on September 28, 1905 in Ahaus, Germany, the second youngest in a family of 9 children. At an early age, he became a blacksmith by trade. Upon completion of his schooling he developed a passion to travel and see the world. This began when he joined the circus in Germany, travelling all over the country. In June of 1929 he and his brother, Theo, decided to immigrate to the United States. When they reached the U.S. however; the immigration authorities had closed the border to further immigrants and they decided to hop a train to Canada, ending up in Winnipeg. Life was not easy in those early years, as shortly after their arrival the Great Depression began in October, 1929. His stories of courage, deprivation, and desperation, during those horrible years, were always a sense of inspiration to his daughters and later on to his beloved grandsons. Opa’s philosophy was “never give up” and that is the motto he followed throughout his life. He and his brother persevered during those lean times and with very little money they began their own business during the heart of the depression, Kruse Auto Body on Isabel St. Many is the time he told us about living in one room above the garage with no heat during those terrible winters. It is a credit to their hard work, ethics and reputation that the business still exists today under that same name, even though they sold it in 1971! After he retired, his life revolved around his home. Gardening became a hobby. His zest for life and boundless energy held us all in awe. Right into his mid nineties one could still see him riding his bike to Safeway or taking long walks along the Drive. His love for his family knew no bounds; he was always there to lend a helping hand when we needed it. His grandsons were the love of his life; he never grew tired spending time with them. He followed Sven’s remarkable hockey career with a keen interest right up to his last days (watching, whenever possible every NHL game Sven played) and he was so very proud of the person Erik had become. He knew both his grandsons were coming home at the end of April and he made sure he stuck around long enough to see them once more. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Joseph Kruse, brothers Franz, Adolph, Joseph, Hermann, Paul, Theodore and sisters Sophie, and Aene. He is survived by his dearly beloved wife Lucie; his devoted daughters, Ingrid (Reinhard) and Burga; his beloved grandsons, Sven (Allison) and Erik; and beloved great-grandson, Magnus. Unfortunately he will not live to see the birth of another great grandchild in August, but we know that he will be there in spirit with us always. Bill is also fondly remembered by niece Helga Geib (Sigmund) in Winnipeg and nieces and nephew in Germany; plus special extended family Gisela (Egon) Knudsen. The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring and compassionate staff at the Concordia Hospital up in N2East and N1North who took such wonderful care of our beloved Opa during the last three months. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage ave. Cremation has taken place. Harold Reimer It is with sadness that the family of Harold Reimer announces his passing on May 7, 2004 at the age of 69. His year long struggle with failing health was brought to a peaceful close with family at his side. Harold was very dear to all of us and will be greatly missed. Harold is predeceased by his son Jamie, father Cornelius, sister Adeline, and brother Stanley. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Angela Tomassetti (Vince); granddaughter Tiana; mother Mable; brothers and sisters: Edgar (Margaret), Alvina Klassen (Ike), Jim (Yvonne), Virginia, Lois Lewycky (Laverne), Marlene Sundeen (Lee), Randy (Beth), and Joyce Reimer (Lou). Also missing him are many nieces, nephews, friends, and of course, his cat Perky. Harold enjoyed and took great pride in his life’s career of fifty years as a carpenter. He was known in the Winnipeg area for his outstanding workmanship as a finishing carpenter. At a young age he was given the name “Mr. Fix It” because there was no job he couldn’t accomplish. Canadian Tire will miss his frequent visits for tools and all kinds of gadgets. Harold loved the outdoors, his cottage at the lake, and camping trips to the mountains. It was in the outdoors that he felt really close to God. Harold was obsessed with solving crossword puzzles, rarely making “thick letters”. We all loved his quick wit and sensitivity. Hearing him play his harmonica put smiles on all of our faces. “ To know him was to love him” The family wishes to thank the 5th Floor nurses and staff at Central Park Lodge (Poseidon) for their compassion and care. Alward Joseph Petrie - Passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Friday, January 17, 2003 at the Hotel Dieu Hosptial. His 82 years were filled with gentle love and caring for his family. His beloved wife Frances died 14 months ago and his missed her so much. The much loved father of daughters Mary Anderson, Margaret Banks and son Michael Petrie and daughter-in-law Karen. He leaves his granddaughter Crystal McLellan, her husband Charlie and his great-grandchildren Abby and Jake; grandson David Penner, Christina Penner and their son Cody; granddaughter Debbie Palinko, her husband Tibor and their son Quentin; granddaughter Maj-Britt Penner. Alward will be missed by his brothers Stafford and Jack, his twin sister Mariah and his sister Viola. He is predeceased by brothers Ernest, Herman, and Gilbert and sisters Mary and Lillian. Al was a WWII Veteran who treasured peace, his beloved Catholic Faith, and abhored violence and foul language. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 8378; the Holy Name Society, the Ushers Club and a very active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church for 50 years. He served at the Ozanam Centre, helping those less fortunate in many ways throughout his life. His gentleness, kindness, humour and integrity will be long remembered by his many friends and always treasured by his family. Al Petrie is at the PATRICK J. Mrs. Edythe Delphine Pearl Phillipps (née Gall) February 12, 1919 - April 30, 2004 PHILLIPPS, Edythe (nee Gall/Williams) 1919-2004 It is with sadness that we announce that Mother passed away in the Cowichan District Hospital on April 30, 2004 at 10:12 pm. Her passing was sudden and unexpected. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1984, her grandsons Kerry, Christopher and Kyle and her beloved granddaughter Liz in 2003. Edythe is survived by her children Brent (Carm) in Ottawa, Sandy in Burnaby, Barb Thorburn in Duncan and Bill (Ingrid) in Fort St. James, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. What a legacy Mom!! She also leaves to mourn her dear friends Bill and Glenna Bergen who showed her such love, respect and compassion. Edythe was born and raised in Quebec. Bill and Edythe spent many years in Baie Verte, Newfoundland where she nursed in the local hospital. They moved to Duncan after Bill’s retirement. She spent the past three years with her son Bill in Fort St. James returning to Barb in February. Mother always marched to her own drummer without apology and our hope and prayer is that she is dancing, in her $2.00 shoes, on the shores of heaven. Words cannot express our sadness at losing her or our joy that she is finally at peace. Our thanks is extended to the Duncan Fire Department, Ambulance attendants Sarah and Jack, and everyone who took part in her care at the Cowichan District Hospital, you were great. To all the people at Sands, especially Charles for your help and kindness, to Dr. Murray Woods for always caring for mother with dignity, respect and humor but mostly for your prayers after her passing. Norman Louis Sellick March 03, 1922 - April 26, 2004 We announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Norman Louis Sellick (Woody) on Monday, April 26, 2004 at the Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Manitoba at the age of 82 years. Norman is survived by his sons, Robert, Norman, Barry, Danny and Steven; daughters, Debbie and Dawn; grandchildren, Robert, Christopher, Nicholas, Kristopher, Tyler, Marie and Katherine; great-grandchildren, Dakota and Diamond; brother Fred Pruden; sisters, Kay Thomas, Edna Snyder and Rose Booth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Norman was predeceased by his wife Marge; parents, Robert and Florence Pruden; brothers, Walter Pruden, Sam Pruden and Robert Pruden; sisters, Phyllis Pemberton, Sisper Smith, Susie Pruden and Chris Beard; brothers-in-law, Del Pemberton, George Beard, Carl Thomas and Edgar Stevenson; daughter-in-law Doreen Stevenson. Norman was raised by his aunt Katherine Sellick at an early age in Winnipeg, where he received his education. In 1938 Norman played Junior hockey with the St. Boniface Seals the year they won the Memorial Cup, beating the Oshawa Generals. In 1939 W.W.II. broke out, Norman enlisted in the Canadian Army on September 18, 1940 with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlander’s of Canada. He later transferred to the Regina Rifle’s Regiment. On June 6, 1944 Norman took part in the Normandy invasion landing on Juno beach. Norman was later transferred to the Lake Superior Regiment. In October 1944, Norman was wounded in action at Antwerp, Belgium, from here he was transferred to a hospital in England. Norman was honorably discharged on September 20, 1945, to return to civil life (on demobilization). Norman had served in Canada, The United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Norman was awarded the following medals: 1939-45 Star; Defense Medal; Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp; War Medal 1939-45 and the France-Germany Star. Norman was employed with Subterranean Construction in Winnipeg in the 1950’s until the mid 1970’s. For the last five years Norman was living at the Fisher Personal Care Home in Fisher Branch. A wake service will be held on Friday, April 30th, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the St. Phillip’s Anglican Church, Hodgson, Manitoba. Ronald Joseph Campbell It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. After a lengthy illness, on April 21, 2004 Mr. Ron Campbell passed away at the Thompson General Hospital at the age of 43 years. Beloved husband of Anita Campbell of Thompson. Ron was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on June 3, 1960 and lived in Duck Bay until his family moved to Thompson in 1968. Ron was employed with INCO Ltd. as a miner for 23 years. Ron loved spending time with his family and friends. Fishing, camping and being outdoors was Ron's passion. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his beloved wife Anita; his sons Ryan (Pauline) and Bradley; mother Rita Campbell; brother Martin (Sarah) Campbell, sisters Ruth Flett, Joanne Campbell and Barbara Campbell, mother-in-law Ida Lamirande, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Jonas Campbell, grandparents William & Emily Campbell and George & Alice Delaronde, as well as special friend Mike Deitz. In 2003, he was diagnosed with cancer and fought a long and hard battle with much strength and great dignity. He lived his cancer experience just as he lived his life : thoughtfully, constructively, courageously but most of all generously. Ron appreciated all the love, kindness and support he received from his family and many friends. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor nursing staff and attending physicians of the Thompson General Hospital for their care and kindness they extended to Ron. Gordon Edward Hamilton - It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our father Gordon Edward Hamilton on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Riverton, Manitoba at the age of 64 years old and our uncle Harold Hamilton who passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in Bloodvein, Manitoba. Gordon lived in Bloodvein River, Manitoba all his life. Gordon is predeceased by his wife Florence in 1997, his son William (known as Billy) in 1990, father Harry in 2001, stepmother Harriet in 1999, stepbrothers Fred, James, Morton, Melvin and Patrick and stepsisters Maggie and Maudina. He leaves to mourn his passing children Purvis, Kirby (Carol), Marie (Michael), Norma (Martin), Pauline (Wilmur), Vera, Julie (Craig) and Janice, stepbrothers, Roddy (Imelda), Ronnie and Edwin Orvis, stepsister Mary Ann Owens. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends. Gordon and Harold will be sadly missed by all who knew them. Gordon had worked as N.A.D.A.P. and councillor for Bloodvein First Nation and as a forest ranger for many years for the Government of Manitoba in surrounding areas. Gordon liked playing cards, cribbage, visiting people in the community and also other communities. Gordon enjoyed attending church services. Kathleen May Jardine ( Sneesby) September 03, 1919 - April 06, 2004 With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved mother. Predeceased by her husband Jack, she leaves to mourn her loss, son David and his wife Joyce, grandsons Wesely and fiancé Andrea, Bradley and partner Kathy; daughter Cheryl and her husband James; son Jim, his wife Jennifer and their boys, Fletcher, Emerson and Rafferty; son David, Jenn; and daughter Finn. She is also survived by her dear sister Thelma and husband Roy Fraser; brother Cecil; sister-in-law Joan; many nieces and nephews; and special friend and helpmate Yvonne. Kay was born in Winnipeg, one of seven children, to May and Joseph Sneesby. As a young woman, she owned a small beauty salon on Main Street. She spent many happy hours at the camp at Ingolf where she met Jack. She took up her second career as wife, mother and homemaker. They lived in several provinces across Canada and finally settled in Woodhaven. Jack and Kay travelled extensively to Europe and down south in later years. She was always full of fun and humour, and her grandchildren loved her. In her later years, her memory loss became such a challenge, but humour sustained her right to the end. She made many friends at Golden West Lodge and the Metro Kiwanis, where she was the life of every party. Special thanks to the nurses at the Grace Hospital for their dedicated care of Mother in the last eight weeks, and the loving support of friends and family at this sad time. A memorial service in honor of Mother’s life will be held on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception to follow. David Samuel Harris May 27, 1913 - August 21, 2003 HARRIS, David Samuel 90 years, on August 21, 2003 at Villa Maria Home for the Aged. Dear husband of Norah and the late Mabel Marie St. Onge (1991). Son of the late Frank and the late Maude Harris. Dear brother of Queenie Miles, Winnie Nattleship, Margaret Cox and Dora Gardner all of England. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, family and friends. David was a member of the K of C #4386 Holy Family Council, Senior Friendship Club and Sandwich West Friendship Club, Windsor Senior Citizens Center and was a retired employee from Chrysler Canada. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Janisse Bros-Marcotte Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Ave. (253-5225). Parish Prayers Monday 7:30 p.m. and K of C Prayers Monday 7:00 p.m. Family & friends are requested to meet on Tuesday August 26, 2003 at Christ the King Church for further visiting from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The family invites you to share your memories and sign the book of condolences at www.obituariestoday.com.
