JEHAN, Joyce Frances, At the St. Catharines General Hospital, Joyce went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 3, 2004 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of Gordon William Jehan. Devoted and loving mother of David (Vicki) Jehan and Donna (Joe) Rock. Cherished grandmother of Daniel (Erin) Jehan, Michael (Julie) Jehan, Kathryn Jehan, Christine (Keith) Dueck and Sarah Rock. Joyce will be dearly missed by sister Vera (Ronald) Nisbet of London, Ontario and brother William (Ann) Martin of St. Catharin es. Joyce was an active member of St. John's Anglican Church, Thorold serving as altar guild president for many years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, 12 Carlton St. S., Thorold on W ednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Canon Dr. Cathie Crawford-Browning officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Following the service a luncheon will be held in the church hall, followed by inurnment at Victori a Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines. HARDISON, Robert Frederick - Peacefully in Lansing, Michigan on Thursday, September 30, 2004. Beloved husband of the late Ferne Huffman Hardison. Survived by his daughter and caregiver Dr. Debra M. Hardison of Holt, Michigan, and his son David Hardison of Toledo, Ohio. Mr. Hardison was a long-time resident of Niagara Falls, Canada and Maumee, Ohio. He retired in 1983 after 43 years with the former Cyanamid organization having worked in Niagara Falls, Canada and plants in the U.S. He was plant accountant for the plastics and resins division in Perrysburg, Ohio, and then controller and manager of financial services for affiliate Chemacryl Plastics, in Ontario. A veteran of WWII, he served 3 1/2 years as a special agent in the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Corps in Europe. Mr. Hardison was very active in sports throughout his life especially baseball, hockey, curling and golf, having won individual and team trophies in each. He was nationally ranked in badminton in the early 1950's. A private family graveside service took place at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls. As an expression of sympathy, in memoriam contributions to the Greater Niagara Baseball Association would be appreciated by the family. Isabelle Downing (1950-2004) l'Acadie Nouvelle - 5 octobre 2004 CARAQUET - Aux Résidences Diane Doiron de Bas-Paquetville, le dimanche 3 octobre 2004, à l’âge de 54 ans, est décédée Isabelle Downing (née Gallien), épouse de Roger Downing, domiciliée aux Résidences Diane Doiron, mais autrefois de Caraquet. Elle était fille de feu Wilfred Gallien et de feu Dorina St-Pierre. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Nancy de Saint-Léolin et Annick de Montréal, Qc; un fils, Eric d’Ottawa, Ont.; un frère, Mathias de Montréal, Qc, ainsi que plusieurs oncles, tantes, cousins et cousines. Deux frères: Vincent et Norbert en bas âge, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h, le mardi 5 octobre, à la Maison funéraire Racicot de Caraquet. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens de Caraquet, le mercredi 6 octobre, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le mardi 5 octobre, de 19h à 21h et le mercredi 6 octobre, de 14h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. FARRIS, LOIS MAY The death of Lois May Farris of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, October 3rd, 2004. Born in Nashwaaksis, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ina (Colter) Pugh and the wife of the late Everett Farris. Lois was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. The grandchildren nick named her " Nannie Cows" because of the farm they once owned. Lois's family loved to visit her, as her sense of humour was very special and memorable. TAIT, HARVEY WILLIAM The death of Harvey William Tait of Tay Creek, husband of the late Thelma Anita (Harvey) Tait, occurred on Saturday October 2, 2004 at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley NB, at the age of 91. He was the son of the late William and Margaret (McCrea) Tait. Mr. Tait was a member of the Sterling United Church, Tay Creek, retired farmer and school bus driver for 27 years. He is survived by two daughters Joyce Forbes (John) of Miramichi City and Sandra Coughlan (Raymond) of Fredericton NB; nine grandchildren Steven, Suzanne, Connie, Don, Judy, Kim, Heather, Chris and Nancy; twelve great grandchildren, one niece, one nephew; one son in law Don Nicolle of Ottawa, On and several cousins. Harvey was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by two brothers Norman and Carl; one daughter Marlene Conway Nicolle. JOHN GILMOUR Gilmour - John Gilmour, born December 2, 1935, passed away at the Kirkland and District Hospital on Thursday, September 30, 2004. John was a life time resident of the Kirkland Lake area. He had a hobby farm in Harvey, Kirkland. He was well known for his sleigh rides and skill in working with horses and animals in general. He was employed at the plywood factory until it closed. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Harriette (Baril); children: Lana Chalifoux (Ted), Charlene Gilmour (Murray Stevens); grandchildren Morgan and Jordan; sister Dorothy MacDonald; brother Norman (Irene); sisters-in-law Nora and Laura Gilmour. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Frank and Amy. Sisters Bessie Hermiston (Jim); Amy Arsenault (Walter); and Alice Kidd (Harold); brothers Frank (Alice); William and Arthur. There will be no visitation. Mary "Mollie" Ann Howard - January 29, 1909 - May 14, 2004 - born January 29, 1909, passed away peacefully on Friday, May14, 2004. Predeceased by her devoted husband of 66 years, Albert (Bert), on September 26, 1998. It gives us comfort in knowing Mom and Dad are together again. Mom was the last survivor of her eight siblings, whom she also loved very dearly. Mollie was a caring wife, Mom and homemaker; fondly remembered for her love, kindness, sense of humour and most wonderful smile. She had a special sparkle and will be dearly missed by daughters Pat and Barbara; numerous nieces and nephews. Earl Gingrich -- - passed away on May 18, 2004 at the Veteran’s Wing of Wascana Rehab Centre, Regina, Sask. He was predeceased by his parents Ira and Lydia Ann Gingrich, brothers Harold and Cliff and sister Beulah. He is survived by his wife Irene of Imperial, Sask., son Dennis (Gale) of Toronto and grandchildren September, Trevor, Kelly and Penny. Also surviving are sisters Stella and Norma of Winnipeg, brother Cam (Lil) of Simpson, Sask, sisters-in-law Olga of New Westminster and Dorothy of Edmonton, as well as several step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Earl was born on the family farm near Guernsey, Sask. on May 23, 1917. He received his schooling at Guernsey while helping on the farm. He loved riding horses and playing hockey. He studied Aeronautics at Saskatoon Technical Institute. In 1940 Earl joined the R.C.A.F. where he trained as an aeroplane mechanic. After his discharge he worked on the Alaska Highway. Various careers followed. He worked on the Lassiter project clearing land in the Peace River area where he farmed for a short time. At the age of 49 Earl attended the University of Alberta, and earned a Bachelor Degree in Vocational Education. He taught for 15 years in Edmonton at Harry Ainlay, M.E. Lazerte and Wagner Schools. After Earl retired he published two books. In 1988 Earl and Irene settled in Imperial, Sask. not far from Earl’s birthplace. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held in the Imperial United Church on May 24th at 2:00 p.m. Interment is to take place in Edmonton at a later date.Funeral arrangements by Regina Funeral Home.

Elizabeth "Betty" Theresa Kresack (née Toman) - November 14, 1920 - May 25, 2004 - aged 83 years, resident of Thunder Bay passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at St. Joseph's Care Group. Betty was born in Fort William to Helen and Peter Toman and she was educated in local schools. She married John Kresack on October 5, 1937 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1987, and have been together 67 years. She was employed with Woolworth's as a Supervisor, retiring in 1980. Betty's main interests were her home, family, gardening and crocheting. She was a member of St. Agnes Church. Survived by husband John at home, son Ron (Joan) and daughter Eleanor Jensen. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, sister Helen Chovancah of Stoney Creek and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, a daughter in infancy and sister Anne Kolarski. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2004 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Born in Winnipeg, Tom graduated from St. Paul’s College. He served in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War, then worked with C.P. Rail for 40 years, retiring in 1977. Tom’s joy was spending time with his family. He never missed an opportunity to come out and watch his children or grandchildren’’s numerous activities. Sophie Kydyk (née Wladyka) - Peacefully on May 27, 2004, Sophie Kydyk passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge, aged 97 years. Sophie was predeceased by her parents Paska and Phillip Wladyka, her husband Ernest Dion and her second husband Nickola Kydyk, sisters Anne and Josie, brothers Paul and John, also her daughter Marie and sons Arthur and George. Left to mourn her passing are sisters Kay and Mary; brother Mike; sons Paul (Mary), Joe (Genie), Edward (Barbara), Marcel (Carol) and 19 grand children; 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Sophie arrive in Canada at the age of 10 months with her mother in 1907 from the Ukraine. They homesteaded in Zbaraz (Interlake area) until 1952, at which time they moved to Winnipeg. She established many dear friends through her kind and loving nature, who will miss her dearly. The family wishes to extend appreciation for the care and compassion extended to Sophie by the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge in the Evergreen Wing. Terry Marie Goldring (née Munroe) - March 31, 1947 - May 29, 2004 - GOLDRING (Munroe), Terry Marie - 57, Lower Sackville, passed away May 29, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Gerald "Russell" Munroe and the late Eva Mae Cochrane Fehr and the stepdaughter of Dorothy Jean Gillett. Born March 31, 1947, Terry was much loved by family and friends. She was a student at Queen Elizabeth High School and Halifax Vocational School. Possessed of a strong work ethic, she worked at Capitol Stores, Farmer's Dairy, Central Trust and N.P.F. at C.F.B. Stadacona. She was involved with the Sackville Minor Hockey Association and as a true "Hockey Mom", was an active supporter and tireless fundraiser. Terry lived an amazing life, being kind to all who knew her, loving family and friends unconditionally. After retirement, which she enjoyed tremendously, she spent many hours doing special things with her husband and children, parents, sisters, brothers, and many many wonderful friends, especially Hannah LeBlanc. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and sister-in-law, who loved laughter and life, living it to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
