Elle avait prononcé les voeux de religion depuis 59 ans. Gary came to Sudbury at age 4. A Roman Catholic he had been a former member of Lord of the World parish. He had been a student at Laurentian University where he took an active interest in campus issues and politics. He had a great appreciation and love of the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing and canoeing. An avid cribbage player Gary had served in the Royal Canadian Navy on the HMS Saugenay. He was born in Isokyrö, Finland and had been a resident of the Porcupine Camp since 1951 having been employed by Dome Mines Ltd. for over 25 years. Viljo had served in the Finnish Army from 1940 to 1944. Remembrance donations will be graciously received in his memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Kulta Koti Finnish Seniors Home through the funeral home. Jennie Bell SUSSEX, NB - Peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre in her 92nd year, surrounded by her family. Jennie was born in Butternut Ridge (Havelock) December 7, 1912. Jennie was the daughter of the late Robert and Alma (Geldart) Henry and the beloved wife of 35 years to the late Gordon Bell who passed away in 1976. Jennie is survived by her daughter, Sue Green and her husband Norm of Hammonds Plains, NS; her son, Vaughan and his wife Pat of Wards Creek; by her three much loved and loving grandchildren, Laine Green and his wife Erica of Bridgewater, NS, Emily Bell of Saint John and Johannes "Jan" Bell of Sussex; her brother, Jack Henry and his wife Kay of Apohaqui and by a number of nephews and nieces, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Jennie was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Robert, Dean, Willard, George and Frank and by her sisters, Grace, Annie and Margaret. Jennie attended Ainsley College in Ottawa. In her youth she worked at Rothesay Collegiate. She was a long-time employee of Kings County Memorial Hospital retiring as Head of Housekeeping in 1976. She was a charter member of Sussex Reformed Baptist Church (Wesleyan). Jennie visited the Holy Land and enjoyed her cottage at Beulah. D., B.Ed. and M.A. He taught school in New Brunswick and Quebec. He also held Pastorates in Baptist Churches in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec. He was a Dominion Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society. His greatest passion was studying the Bible and its applications in all aspects of everyday life Besides his wife Ruth of 62 years, he leaves to mourn their daughters, Sharon Estabrooks (David), Havelock, ON, Sandra Lowther (Hal), Moncton; son, Garth, Sambro Head, NS. Erich F. Pollabauer 1927 - 2004 It is with great sadness we announce that Erich F. Pollabauer 76, of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital July 11, 2004. Born in Steiermark, Austria, Erich immigrated to Charlottetown, PE in 1951 where he worked as an Airframe Mechanic for Maritime Central Airways (MCA) and in 1956 he relocated to Moncton where he worked for Eastern Provincial Airways (EPA), in 1958 Erich went to work for Mr. Douglas Bannon as MFM Industries Senior Estimator and remained with the Company until his retirement in 1992. Erich attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, member of St. Patrick's Family Center and a long time member of the Beaver Curling Club, he was a member and former member of the Board of Directors of the Moncton Construction Association. Erich's home away from home was the "Hockey Rink" and he took immense pride and joy in following the hockey pursuits of his son and was John's greatest supporter and biggest fan. STASSO, John 87 years, passed away, Monday, July 12, 2004 at Victoria Hospital, London surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Olga. Dear father of Gerald, Terry, Janet Brinacombe and husband Ron, Dan and wife Kathy, Barbara Leblanc and husband Paul. Loving and bragging Giddo to eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In the 1940's John convinced Mersea Township to build a baseball diamond where Mersea Park stands today. He organized a senior baseball team, calling it the Point Pelee Beavers and entered the team in the North and South League. John was also very active with minor hockey and in the early 1960's was named "Mr. Hockey." He sat on the recreation board representing Mersea Township for three years and was very involved with Erie Shores Golf & Country Club where he played since the 1930's. He sat on the Golf Course Board of Directors for nine years and in 1998 was awarded an honorary membership. John loved sports and was a baseball and hockey coach as well as an avid bowler. He was a retiree of Chrysler Canada. ROTH, Hertha. Peacefully in her ninety-forth year on Saturday, July 10, 2004. Beloved mother of Charles and Ira. Cherished grandmother of Lenny and Danny. Adoring great-grandmother of Yaacov, Yoni, Nava and Yael. She will be remembered forever for her exceptional positive attitude, charity, incredible kindness and dedication to her family whom she literally saved during the Holocaust. WEBLEY, Merle Peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 10th, 2004 at the age of 74. Dearly loved by husband Ross Sr. for 56 years. BAILEY, Jeffrey "Butch" Peacefully, following a short illness, at his home, "Elm Grove Farm", Perth on Saturday July 10th, 2004 Jeffrey "Butch" Bailey (avid promoter and breeder of Black Angus Cattle) at the age of 53 years. Cherished husband of Judy (Levac) Bailey. Son of the late Malcolm and Luella Bailey of Uxbridge. Butch will be sadly missed by his brother Ross (Carole) Bailey of Port Perry, sister Patricia Bailey of Uxbridge, step-children Nicole Tye (Gary Bowes) and Justin Tye (Cara Knapp), step-grandchildren Katelynn Graham and Denver Bowes, as well as his nieces, nephews, family and many friends. DOLMAN, Harry. R.C.A.F. December 18, 1915 - July 11, 2004. At Baycrest Hospital in Toronto. Devoted husband of Millie for over fifty-nine years. Cherished father and grandfather of Nanci, Issie and Elisa Goldman, the late Melvin, the late Howard and the late Tamara Goldman. Brother of the late Joe Dolman, brother-in-law of Doreen and Sydney Miller, and the late Eileen and Morris Clapoff. Uncle of Janis, Susan, Karyn and Gary, and great uncle of Adam, Noah, Daniel, Jesse and Jayme. Harry was an exceptionally intelligent man, a voracious reader with a love of politics and lively discussions. He was a gentle and moral soul. A master of unconditional love, he adores all the children in his extended family. He will be deeply missed. During his last days, Harry reminded us that in the end "only kindness matters."
