MARKO, Michael Allan Slipped away peacefully at home Monday, July 12, 2004 at the age of 51. Precious husband of Mei-Lan; ever the beaming Dad of Ryan, Alec, Colin and Ginny. Dear son of Simone and the late John; cherished brother of Jim, Susan (Steve), Carole and Anne-Marie (Chris). Much loved son-in-law of Tiam and Kahoko Lie. Michael's trademark was his wit, his tenacity, and above all, his utter devotion to his children for whom he happily assures a legacy of many fun-filled memories. Infinite gratitude to Drs. Raghed and Coulombe, Marion Williams, caregivers Patricia, Eric, and Helene, the Congress Centre, and the many friends and colleagues whose steadfast support has been beyond belief. KRECZKO, Nell Marie (nee Currah) In loving memory of Nell Marie Kreczko (nee Currah), 92 years, who passed away Saturday morning, July 10, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital-St. Joseph's Health Centre. Beloved wife of the late George Kreczko predeceased December 25, 1997. Loving daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel (Bullock) Currah. Dear sister of Mary Allen of Southern Ontario, Hazel Slack of Indiana, predeceased by Belle, Dora, Louie, Blanche and Bev. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Nell's later years were greatly enriched by the friendship and companionship of Lloyd Taylor of Sudbury. She will be sadly missed by her "partner in crime" and good friend of Trina McKerral of Markstay. Nell was a member of the U.C.W. since it's inception at St. Peter's United Church. She was a world traveller and accumulated many friends along the way. Nell enjoyed gardening, visiting family and the time she spent at Jim and Lorraine's Camp on Carlise Lake. Nell had an awesome sense of humour that brightened the lives of many. At Nell's request there will be no public visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service to be held at a later date. BRATLEY, John "Jack" - It is with great sadness that the family ofÊ John "Jack" Theodore Bratley announce his death after a lengthy illness at the age of 82 years. Jack is survived by his loving wife Marjorie (Thompson) of 54 years, his devoted children Carolyn Gray (Dennis) of Hamilton and David (Olga) of St. Catharines, his grandchildren Marc and Laura Bratley of Niagara Falls and his sister Marian Bratley of Niagara Falls. He was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Jesse Bratley, longtime residents of Niagara Falls. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law and brothers-and-law: Bessie Barbaree of ÊFergus, Nancy Thompson of Listowel, Leota Thompson of Listowel, Shirley and Bill Engel of Waterloo and Earl Thompson of Toronto and a number of nieces and nephews. Jack was a proud graduate of Stamford Collegiate High School, and a life long member of Lundy's Lane United Church. Jack had worked in aggregate sales all his life, 27 years for Queenston Quarries (Steetley Industries) and 12 years as general manager of ÊNorjohn Contracting of Walker Industries. Jack had lots of hobbies. He liked photography, model railroading, pond gardening and driving the roads of ÊOntario. He will be remembered as someone who did it 'his way'. Special thanks to the staff of GNGH on the Trillium Ward and Unit D for their attentive care. Jack's family will receive friends at the Morse & Son Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes, 5917 Main Street on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, in the chapel at 1 o'clock. PATERAK, Jan - Of Fort Erie passed away at the Crescent Park Lodge on Monday, July 12, 2004 at the age of 75 years. Born in Poland, Mr. Paterak lived in the Fort Erie area and was employed as a Tool and Die Maker at General Motors in Tonawanda. He served in the Army for England and Poland during WWII. Mr. Paterak will be sadly missed by his children Valerie and her husband George Masurat, Susan and her husband Wayne Barrett, Robert Paterak and his wife Sharon, Jenny and her husband Lloyd Chambers, Larraine and her husband Garry Stoughton, all of Fort Erie. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister Sophia Zelowiski of St. Catharines, brother Frank Paterak and his wife Gladys of Scotland, Ontario and niece Emily Gagola of St. Catharines. Linda Robins (née Neilly) , 1945 - July 10, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Linda on Saturday the 10 July 2004 after an accident at her home. Linda was predeceased by her father Ernest Neilly and her mother Lena Neilly. Left to cherish her memory are her: husband of 39 years Ron Robins; son Tim Robins and his friend Robyn Nelvin; daughter Deborah Holmberg and her husband Darren; grandchildren Samantha Robins, Danielle Robins, Meagan Robins, Kelsi Holmberg, Kerstin Holmberg, Karin Holmberg, and Davin Holmberg; dear friend Rose Deibert and many other friends and relatives. Linda was born on the 19 February 1945 in Winnipeg. She grew up with her parents in Brandon, Manitoba. Her school years were spent at King George Elementary School, Earl Haig Junior High and Neelin High School. As a girl Linda loved to play the piano and spend time with her dad fishing and ice-skating. She attended and taught Sunday school at First Church United in Brandon. As a teenager Linda worked at Barney’s Drive Inn, Speakmans Store and Bandon Musical Supply. After attending Wheat City Business Collage Linda took a job with Household Finance. On September 25, 1965 Linda married Ron Robins of Brandon Hills and moved to the farm. She later worked for the City of Brandon and then took a few years off to raise her children. During these years Linda took a great interest in ceramics and created many pieces that can be seen throughout her home. She was very involved in the Brandon Centennial Fastball League where she was one of the official score keepers. She later returned to work at the Chamber of Commerce where she eventually became General Manager and Executive Secretary of the Brandon Real Estate Board. Linda loved to go camping with her family and her children have many memories of summers weeks spent at the lake with mom and dad arriving for the weekend. The family eventually built a cottage at Sandy Lake, which they still have. In 1979 she started work for the Federal Government with DND at Shilo. In 1986 the family moved to Winnipeg and Linda started to work for Health Canada where she lived and worked until her death. Linda will best be remembered for her love and support of her family and grandchildren no mater what type of challenge they took on, most recently with the Highland Hoppers dance group and caring for her grandchildren while mom was busy with work or church functions. Ron and his hunting friends will always remember her for the breakfasts she made for them, no matter how early they were headed out, as well as the huge hamburgers she would send along for lunch. Linda was always loved playing cards and was an avid reader, a hobby which she has passed on to her daughter and grandchildren. Frances Louise Boulter (née Smith) August 10, 1913 - July 10, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mrs. Frances Boulter, 275 Madeleine Street, formerly of the Murillo area, passed away after a brief illness, with her family by her side, at 12:35 pm Saturday July 10, 2004 at McKellar Community Care. Born Frances Louise Smith in Port Arthur on Aug 10, 1913 to George and Esther Smith (Saddington), she attended city schools, including the opening year of Port Arthur Technical School, now Hillcrest High School. At age 16 she moved with her family to Oliver Township, where she played on the Kakabeka Falls ladies’ softball team. There she met and married Fred Boulter, and with him operated a thriving dairy farm on John St. Road, where she lived for 62 years. She had been an elected member of the Oliver Township School Board, served on the Murillo Fair Board, long-time member of St. James Anglican Church, and, with her good humour and outgoing nature, was very well-known in her community. Her home, family, Bible study group, her rural life-style, her quilting, and her beautiful garden were her main interests. On August 10, 2003, still in excellent health, she celebrated her 90Th birthday with a large number of family members and friends at the Murillo Community Complex. She was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Fred on Nov 12, 1961, and by her 5 brothers and sisters: Elizabeth Mosher, William Mitchell, George Mitchell, Ellen Mitchell, all of Thunder Bay, Grenville Smith of Ottawa, and by a great-grand-daughter Hannah Kinsman in infancy. She is survived by her 3 children: John Boulter (Mary Ann) of Thunder Bay, Eleanor Vaillant (Lorne) of Murillo, and Fred Boulter (Lynn) of Murillo, as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren: Francine (Bill) Donolovitch and Amanda of Murillo, Jolene Vaillant (companion Dale Turecki) of Murillo, Neil (Tracy) Vaillant and their children Owen and Taylor of Murillo. Dr. Jamie Boulter-Berner (Matt) of Minneapolis, Jeanine Boulter-Bitzer (Roland) of Milverton Ont., Joanne Boulter (friend Brendan Marsden) of Ottawa, and a very dear foster daughter, Clara Spisak (Nick) of Hamilton. Also mourning her passing are nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a host of friends and admirers. Funeral services will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Murillo, on Wednesday July 14 at 11:00 am, Rev. Deborah Kraft officiating, with interment in the family plot in the churchyard. Notre père a été reconnu et respecté comme un important leader syndical dans la région. Son implication lui a mérité le titre de Bâtisseur en 1997 lors du 150e anniversaire de la ville de Jonquière. En 1950, il a été élu président du Syndicat d’Arvida, poste qu’il a occupé pendant dix-neuf ans. En 1962, il a travaillé comme vice-président exécutif de la CSN. Dans les années 70, il a fait partie de la Fédération de la Métallurgie, puis est devenu président du Conseil régional. Il a travaillé au Conseil consultatif du Travail et de la Main-d’oeuvre. Par la suite, il a été nommé commissaire du travail et a terminé sa carrière en 1983 comme commissaire général du travail. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Philip Hubley in Dartmouth General Hospital on Monday, July 12, 2004, due to complications resulting from a motor vehicle accident in Prince Edward Island. Born December 28, 1948, in Halifax, he was the son of H. Mildred (Ward) Hubley, Dartmouth and the late Leon Bradford Hubley. He will be forever missed by his devoted wife of 30 years, the former Denise F. He was extremely proud of having received the Governor General's Jubilee Award in 2002. Phil's joys were his family and his many interests. He was active with Dartmouth United Soccer, curling, volleyball and bridge clubs. He rarely missed a daily crossword puzzle and was quick to help friends and family. His optimism and sense of humour will be missed by all. BERTRAND, Raymond, Napoleon In loving memory of Raymond Napoleon Bertrand, 84 years of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday afternoon, July 8, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital-St Joseph's Health Center. He was born in Sturgeon Falls. Raymond came to Sudbury in 1952 from Sturgeon Falls. He was a Roman Catholic who attended St Jean de Brebeuf Church. He had been a miner at the Stobie Mine retiring in 1983 with over 30 years at INCO. A proud Canadian he had served overseas during WWII with the Canadian Army in the Regiment de Maisoneuve where he had been wounded in action. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br# 76 Sudbury. An avid fisherman Ray will be remembered as a quiet man who was devoted to his loving family. Beloved husband of Leonie (Bigras) Bertrand predeceased 1998; and Jeannette (Trahan) Bertrand of Sudbury. DOLCETTI, Gina (nee Calderan) In loving memory of Gina (nee Calderan) Dolcetti, 84 years of Sudbury, who passed away Friday morning, July 9, 2004 at the St Joseph's Villa, Sudbury. She was born in Cimpello, Pordenone, Italy and married Giovanni Dolcetti in 1942 in Italy. Gina came to Sudbury in 1952 from Italy. A longtime West End resident she had attended to St Clement's Church where she assisted and supported the parish CWL special teas and bazaars. She presently belonged to Our Lady of Hope Church. An accomplished seamstress she had worked at the Hollywood Shop and then the Rosalyn-Faye Store for many years. Even in retirement she continued to sew for others. An excellent cook she enjoyed preparing family dinners. Gina will be remembered as a good person with a positive personality who always had a smile to share with others. She was devoted to her loving family taking great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments. Beloved wife of Giovanni Dolcetti of Sudbury. CERANTOLA, John Ontario In loving memory of John Ontario Cerantola, 82 years, who passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital-Memorial Site. Beloved husband of Gertrude (Landriault) Cerantola of Coniston. Loving father of Sylvia (husband Andrew Stanko) of Toronto, Gary (wife Marlene) of Calgary, Colleen (husband Bob Chayka) of Coniston and Carol (husband Tom Pratt) of Sault Ste Marie. Cherished grandfather of Gina, David, Julie, Leslie, Brent, Thomas and Kylie. Dear son of Emilio and Ernestina Cerantola both predeceased. Dear brother of Alice St George of St Catharines predeceased by Primo, Agnes, Theresa and Adelina. Sadly missed by his pet pals Willow and Dakota. Born in Coniston, he was a plate worker at INCO for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Club Allegri. John was a Jack of all trades and a Master Tinkerer. He enjoyed spending time at his camp on Cache Bay. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. Memorial Mass in St Paul the Apostle Church, Coniston, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 11 am. Cremation in the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to Heart and Stroke Fund would be appreciated.
