Cherished father of Barbara Martel and partner Don Schorling, Donna and Dave Brindley, Pat Bechard, Debbie and Guy Peloquin, Tim Brewer and partner Bonnie Courtney, Tom and Linda Brewer, David and Mary Brewer. Precious Grandpa to Melissa (George) Yamanoha, Dan Martel and fiancee Liz, Chris Martel, Mike Brindley and partner Ed McLaughlin, Jason Brindley, Jeff (Grace) Bechard, Judi Bechard, Daryll and Ryan Peloquin, Katelyn and Corey Brewer, Janelle and Laura Taylor, Laura and Jordan Brewer, Samantha, Reid, and William Brewer. Caring great-grandpa to Alexander and Ashley Yamanoha, Rita-Marie and Sophia Bechard. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son-in-law John Martel and his sister Mary (June) Landry (July 11, 2004). Wally was a Veteran of WWII having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps. He was a member of the R.C.L. Branch 594 and a former employee of the Ford Motor Company retiring after 45 years of service. If desired, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association. MAIURI, Bernardo "Benny", Peacefully, surrounded by the love and support of this family on the morning of Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the age of 73. He is the beloved husband of Elvira (nee Simone) for 46 wonderful years and the loving father of Ric k and his wife Rosa (nee DiRamio), Fred and his wife Theresa (nee Marno) and Lita and her husband Gene Artista, all of Niagara Falls. Nonno will be missed by his grandchildren Melanie, Jake, Alicia and Lucas. Survived by his sisters Ida and the late Domenic Ricci of Leamington and Giggia and the late Arduino Del Greco as well as his brother Arduino (Antonietta) Maiuri, all of Italy. He now joins his late parents Rocco and Maria Maiuri and sister Teresa Ricci and his sister-in-law Concetta (Pasqu ale) Di Carlo and his brother-in-law Pasquale Simone. Also survived by Pasquale (Ida) Ricci and Lucia (the late Albert Ventura) and Concetta Simone, Anna (Camillo) Simone, Rosalie Simone, Sam (Velia) Simone and his dear mother-in-law Maria Simone. He will be fondly remembered by his 30 nieces and nephews. Bernardo came to Canada from Italy in 1952 and has resided since then in Niagara Falls. He was a member of Club Italia, a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of the Scapular Church and was very p roud of his business accomplishments as the co-owner of Benrit Construction. SENSKE, John Albert (Bert), With deep sorrow, John passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 9, 2004, in his 75th year. Beloved companion for 22 years to Renita Roeske. Born in Inverness November 20, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Neil and Annie (Beaton) MacIsaac. She was a faithful member of Stella Maris Parish, the C.W.L. and the Ladies Aid. LAJEUNESSE , YVETTE 1933-2004 Yvette Lajeunesse, after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side, slipped away at the Timmins & District Hospital on Friday, July 9, 2004 at the age of 70 years. Loving mother of Pierrette Plant of Severn Bridge, Ontario. Dear sister of Gerry (Rejeanne) Genereux of Belleville, Gloria (Ben) Mask of Timmins, Irene (Brones) Bielaskie of South Porcupine, Rene (Karen) Genereux of Bancroft, Robert (Joyce) Genereux of Toronto, Vivian (Garry) Hodge of Dryden, Joanne (Al) Belverede of Brampton. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Predeceased by her parents Oscar and Victoria Genereux (1975) and a brother Gerald (1949). Yvette was a very special women. She was strong, independent, honest and had a sense of humour that brought a smile to everyone’s face. She was an avid outdoors person, naturalist, loved her crafts and special recipes. Yvette volunteered her time at the Lord’s Kitchen, at the Golden Manor and helped anyone in need. She was an inspiration to many who knew her and will be sadly missed. The family would like to express a word of thanks to the nurses and staff at the Timmins & District Hospital as well as the family members; Paulie, Barbie, Gloria, Irene, Alice, David and Diane who were there for support. As per her request, cremation will take place.

Julia Rousselle (1913-2004) l'Acadie Nouvelle - 12 juillet 2004 LEECH - À l’Hôpital de Tracadie-Sheila, le samedi 10 juillet 2004, à l’âge de 90 ans, est décédée entourée de sa famille Julia Rousselle, épouse de feu Jérémie Rousselle, domiciliée à Leech. Née le 23 juillet 1913, elle était fille de feu Joseph Leclair et de feu Basilisse Robichaud. Elle laisse dans le deuil cinq filles: Jacqueline (feu Fred) Gallant de Leech, avec qui elle demeurait, Jeannette (feu Lionel Losier), Evelyn (Roland Comeau) et Géraldine (Lewis Hachey), toutes trois de Tracadie-Sheila et Gertrude de Drummondville; un fils, Lorenzo (Géraldine) de la Villa Saint-Joseph de Tracadie-Sheila; une soeur, Catherine Blanchard d’Allardville; deux belles-soeurs: Phoébé Sonier de Tracadie Beach et Florida Duguay d’Allardville, ainsi que plusieurs petits-enfants et de nombreux arrière-petits-enfants. Trois enfants: Hector, Yvonne et Rita, ainsi que plusieurs frères et soeurs, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Maison funéraire Robichaud, 3875, rue Principale à Tracadie-Sheila. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée-Conception de Rivière-du-Portage, le mardi 13 juillet, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Spencer Guy and Kay (Smith) Guy. Kathy worked for the CBC in various positions for more than 25 years. She retired in 2002. Cathy loved to cook, and craft, making candles, soap and Christmas ornaments. She also loved to look after her three cats. She is survived by her husband, Bob Allison, Halifax; stepmother, Marnie Guy, White's Lake; sister, Victoria Spencer Guy, Halifax. She will be missed by Bob's children, Kandis, Warren and Tracy. McGee, Dominique MME DOMINIQUE MCGEE née Gigoux est décédée paisiblement le vendredi 9 juillet 2004, à l'âge de 36 ans. Dominique vu le jour le 25 décembre 1967. He worked at Fairy Aviation and later H.M.C. Dockyard, Halifax, from where he retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Caen Branch 164, Eastern Passage. He is survived by his wife the former Eileen Cody; son Robert (Carrie), Eastern Passage; daughters Annette (Brian) Cooper, Eastern Passage, and Yvette Avery, Halifax; grandchildren, Robert, Candice and Trevor; one great-grand daughter, Jenna. His first wife, the former Sheila Kane, Dartmouth; sister, Gertrude Belliveau, and cousin Nadine Bellibveau both of Church Pointe. He was predeceased by a brother, Adellaird. Doris M. LeBlanc Doris LeBlanc, 73, wife of the late Henri LeBlanc, of Cornhill Street, and formerly of Cedar Street, Moncton passed away on Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton following a brief illness. Born September 16, 1930, in SteMarie, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Justine (Pellerin) Saulnier. She was a past member of the Moncton Boys and Girls Club, Parent Auxiliary, Day Care and ABC bowling league. She will be sadly missed by three daughters, Jeannette Bourque (Bernard) of Bouctouche, Dianna Hebert (Danny) of Moncton, Gisèle MacKay (Brian) of Lakeville; two sons, Donald "Boubou", Léo "Baba" both of Moncton; three sisters, Irène LeBlanc (Arsène) of Florida, Bertha Hietala of Gardner, MA., Lorraine Meisner of Moncton; a brother, Ronald Sonier (Marie) of Hartford, Conn; nine grandchildren, Rachelle, Marc, David, Denise, Billy, Sabrina, Ronika, April-Dawn, Brian; five great grandchildren, Jade, Nico, Hayden, Trent, Quentin and by several nieces and nephews. Daisy (Tozer) Somers MIRAMICHI, NB - The death of Mrs. Daisy Lena Somers (Tozer) widow of Gerald Somers of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Trout Brook occurred on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at her residence at the age of 87. Born in Lyttleton, NB she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hannah (Matthews) Tozer. Daisy is survived by three daughters, Mona Murdoch (John), Janet Johnson (John), Sherry Waye (Dana); seven sons, Robert (Wanda), Yerxa (Paula), Raymond, Jerry, Rickey (Adrienne), Wayne (Doreen) and Dean (Debbie); three brothers, Stillman, Lindsay (Yvonne) and Cyril (Wanda); 44 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and 29 nieces and nephews. FILIPPONE, Anna Rosa (Speranza) In loving memory of Anna Rosa (Speranza) Filippone. Born in a romantic and distant land on December 11, 1923, Anna Rosa met, fell in love with and married Pasquale, a young man with a sunny smile. Just as so many immigrants in the '50's sacrificed, she raised her son, then called Felice, alone for 5 years, before coming to Canada to join her husband in Sudbury. Their daughter Adriana arrived, and years later when her 2 children themselves married, 5 grandchildren completed the family. She was a devoted wife, mother and especially, Nonna. Her grandchildren could do no wrong in her eyes! She was a grandmother who gave chocolate, made the best cutlets, always hugged the grandchildren first and always had something for their piggy banks. She was a devout Catholic who was especially fond of the wisdom of St. Anthony. She found great pleasure in the company of her relatives and many close friends. Tradition was important to her. Wife of Pasquale Filippone, mother of Tony Felice Filippone (spouse of Natalina Orazietti) of Midland, and Adriana Filippone (spouse of Markus Bertels) of Sudbury. Grand-mother of Selena, Ilana and Gian-Luca Filippone and Stefan and Micaela Bertels. Daughter of Felice Speranza and Michelina Raschill (predeceased) and sister of Giuseppe Calimero (predeceased), Pasquale Speranza (predeceased) and Felice Speranza of the Province of Reggio Calabria, Italy. MENARD, Michael, James In loving memory of Michael James Menard, 39 years, who passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004 at North Bay. He was born in Sudbury.
