Ralph Plantz Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on July 4, 2004, Ralph Plantz went to be with the Lord Jesus at the age of 94. Dad is survived by his beloved wife Sarah; his children Gomer (Dorothy) Plantz, Marie Squires-Noren, Alfred (Cathy) Plantz, Seetta (Steve) Roccola, Tilly (Jeff) Kuchta, Vera (Rob) Fielding, Rocky (Joelle) Plantz. His grandchildren; John (Irene), David, Cheryl (Mike), Ray (Ramona), Bradley (Ruth), Fred (Heather), Karen (Rob), Kimberly, Jason, Kristen, Ryan, Natasha, Christiaan, Jessica, John, Carleigh, Chelsea, Courtney, and Cadee; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister Seetta (Bud) Richardson and brother Rocky (Mary) Blakeman; his sisters-in-law Shirley Laplante, Christine McKenzie, Grace Gurski, Eileen (Albert) Stagg, Mildred (Donald) Gould, numerous nieces, nephews and friends, especially his longest and dearest friends Bill and Elayne Halldin. Dad was predeceased by his sons-in-law Allan Squires and Ronald Noren. Dad was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska on May 10, 1910. He grew up and lived for many years on Ten Mile Lake, Minnesota, where he earned a living as a fisherman’s guide and trapper. He served for two years in the U.S. Army and then attended Northwestern College where he studied Theology. He later moved to Canada and settled in the Interlake area. It was here that he began his missionary work and also worked in construction and continued to hunt, trap, and fish. After having settled in Winnipeg, he continued his missionary work by starting Bethlehem Chapel, an Aboriginal Fellowship funded by the Baptist Union of Western Canada. He retired at the age of 80. Through his ministries he helped many people, many whom are still involved in carrying on with his vision. Some of Dad’s greatest enjoyments were playing sports but more importantly watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. Dad was our #1 fan at all of our games. He will be greatly missed on the stands, bleachers, and the sidelines. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Camper Community Hall in Camper, Manitoba with Pastor Clark Gietz officiating. Interment to follow at the Camper Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service in the Camper Community Hall. The family would like to express our thanks to the many people who provided the wonderful care he received during his illness, including his homecare workers, especially Monika, and the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. CÉCILE MACMILLAN nee Caron 1920-2004 The family announces with great sorrow her death on Sunday July 4, 2004 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Leon MacMillan in 1999. Survived by her sister Yvette Lafontaine-Lemire of Timmins, her brother Domina (Yvonne) Caron of Timmins, her sister-in-law Georgina Read of Toronto and by numerous nieces and nephews. Jose "Joe" Lumbis Murillo December 19, 1945 - June 30, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of our beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend on Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Jose “Joe” Lumbis Murillo was born in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines, on December 19, 1945. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education at Mabini Memorial College in Iriga City where he met Salve, his wife of 29 years. In May of 1977, he immigrated to Canada. He was predeceased by his parents Faustino and Jacinta; parents-in-law, Maxima and Ingracio, and brother Otilio. He is survived by his wife Salve; children Glenn, Daisy, Grant (wife Janis and beloved grand-daughter Alyssa Kiara), and Grace. He will be sadly missed by his surviving sisters Magdalena, Salome, and Rosario; nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Philippines, United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as many of his close friends. Known as a gentle, loving, and kind soul, Joe was a devoted family man with a unique sense of humor. As a hardworking individual, Joe was a valuable employee at Holy Family Nursing Home for 25 years. He was an active member of the Bicol Association of Manitoba, Penafrancia and Cenacle Prayer Groups, and he served as a Eucharistic minister for St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and watching hockey and boxing. Lamay will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Thursday July 8 and Friday July 9 from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am. Prayers will be at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm on both nights. Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington St. on Saturday, July 10 at 10:30 am with Fr. Vic Tungolh officiating. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens followed by a reception. Pallbearers are Tomas Rivero, Polding Bobiles, Tito Alejandria, Romy De Luna, Leo Tolledo, Pedro Nolasco, Ramon Carranza, and Tony Sanchez. Lyle was born in Young, SK on September 1, 1912 to Suzanne and Clarence Dewey. He leaves to mourn his four children, Lila Kunard (Garry), Rodney Dewey (Mary Lou), Dale Dewey, Lynette Cobbe (Tim); and his precious grand and great grandchildren. TAIT, Honor, At home in the presence of her family, Honor Tait, in her 93rd year, died peacefully on Sunday, July 4. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack (John Robert) and survived by her four children. Dear mother of Patricia Tait of Port Colbor ne and her companion Mac, John Robert (Bob) and his wife Denise of Franklin, PA, Brian and his wife Sandra of Arnprior, and Carol Lombardi and her husband Gino of Aurora. Dear grandmother to 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Honor was bor n near Newcastle on May 21, 1912 and emigrated to Canada in 1928 with her parents and six brothers and sisters. One of the oldest active members of the Fenwick United Church, she had been involved with the choir, the quilter's guild, the U.C.W. and w as an avid baker of cookies and pies for every occasion. Her love of gardening frequently provided roses for the pulpit. Honor has been a resident of Fenwick for the past 51 years and will be missed by her many friends and neighbours. The family wish es to express their sincere gratitude to all those who compassionately provided care and support both to Honor and her family over the past weeks of illness. She will be resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick with visitation f rom 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday, July 6. DUSSAULT, FRÈRE FERNAND, F.I.C. (Frère Léonce-Marie) À la Maison Saint-Joseph de Pointe-du-Lac, le 2 juillet 2004, à l'âge de 89 ans, dont 72 de vie religieuse, est décédé Frère Fernand Dussault (Frère Léonce-Marie), des Frères de l'Instruction Chrétienne, fils de feu Arthur Dussault et de feu Laura Morissette. Il est né à Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, le 20 mai 1915. Il entra au noviciat de Pointe-du-Lac en 1931 et fit profession perpétuelle en 1938. La carrière d'enseignant de Frère Fernand commença en 1932, dans des classes de niveau secondaire où il fut appelé à enseigner les sciences : physique et surtout chimie. Il exerça cette fonction pendant trente ans dans les écoles de Shawinigan et de Grand-Mère. Il occupa également le poste de directeur des écoles Laflèche de Grand-Mère et Saint-Maurice de Shawinigan. À sa retraite, il rendit service en se chargeant de la tenue des livres à la librairie Servisco et ensuite pour sa province religieuse. Il est décédé à la Maison Saint-Joseph de Pointe-du-Lac où il vivait depuis 1999. Sa disponibilité, son attachement aux valeurs religieuses, sa piété profonde, sa courtoisie demeureront dans la mémoire de tous. La famille et les membres de la communauté accueilleront parents et ami(e)s à la : Résidence funéraire St-Louis et fils Ltée 2840, rue Notre-Dame Pointe-du-Lac.
