ELSBURY, Anne Passed away June 2, 2004 at the age of 58. Annie was born and raised in Church Stretton, Shropshire, England, and moved to Ottawa in 1974. She worked in theatre at the National Arts Centre, Stratford Festival, Banff Centre, Calgary Olympics, the Mirvishes, Live Ent, and Cirque du Soleil. She will be greatly missed by family, Chris, Carol, Richard, Judi, Pip, Tessa, John, Uncle Freddie, and their families, and by her very supportive, close friends, Art Penson and Barb Howatt. She also had a loving network of wonderful friends in Ottawa and across Canada. Annie, we will miss those brilliantly "spot-on" cards you sent us all and your dry British humour. She had worked in the housekeeping depts at local hotels for 20 years. She took great pride and care in her home and she enjoyed gardening and cooking. She enjoyed playing cards and knitting and was also devoted to her family and friends, twelve years in the Uno Club. Mrs Joyal was predeceased by her parents Solomon Lafrenière and Derilda Valliere, her husband Roger Joyal and by her son Pierre Joyal. HUBBS, Frank Harrison (1919-2004) The Hubbs family is sad to announce that Frank Hubbs 2nd. Passed away on Monday, June 28, 2004. For the past 2 1/2 years Frank was at Extendicare Falconbridge in Sudbury, lovingly cared for by all staff especially on the 4th, floor. Frank will be sadly missed by his Sudbury High School sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Gladys; son Frank Thornley (Susan); daughter Vicki Lee (Don Scott); his grandchildren Laura and Rebecca Hubbs and Greg & Laura Steele; very special brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Barb Thornley; aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Gordon (Rusty). Born in Sudbury, always proud of his United Empire Loyalist Heritage, Sudbury, his city. His earlier pleasures were hunting and fishing at Nobel on Georgian Bay. Every November 11th, he proudly sold poppies for Branch 76, Royal Canadian Legion. Frank served in RCAF Bomber Command WW2, 3 years in the Belgian underground, POW camp Stelag Luft 3 (famed camp of the Great Escape), was in civilian prison in Bordeaux and Paris as he was caught by the Gestapo as a spy. Frank was discharged in 1945 as Flt. Lt. From 1945-92 Frank was manager of Seymours Mens Wear-corner of Elm & Durham Streets. Franks greatest love was his family but other pleasures were his garden, neighbours, square dancing, bridge, his Super Mall coffee club and many very special friends. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 1 pm. Interment in the Park Lawn Crematorium.
