She was born in Reka Gorna, Croatia and married Ivan Novosel in 1948 in Croatia. Vjekoslava came to Sudbury in 1956 from Croatia. She was a member of the Sveti Marko Croatian Catholic Church. She had worked in the housekeeping depts at local hotels for 20 years. She took great pride and care in her home and she enjoyed gardening and cooking. Vjekoslava was a devoted and loving Mama and Baba. Beloved wife of Ivan Novosel predeceased 2000. Loving mother of Carol Delibasic (husband Mike) and Lillian Duhaime (husband Patrick) both of Sudbury. RICHARD NAPOLÉON - Des funérailles ont eu lieu le 28 juin 2004 pour Napoléon Richard de Mattice, décédé le 24 juin à Hearst à l'âge de 76 ans. Né à Palmarolle au Québec le 30 juillet 1927, il est arrivé dans la région en 1945. Il était membre du Club de l'Âge d'or de Mattice. Il aimait jouer aux cartes, aux fers, aux washers en plus d'aimer aller à la pêche et à la chasse. On le décrivait comme une bonne personne qui aimait les enfants et qui aimait faire rire les gens. Il fut précédé dans la mort par son frère Philippe Richard et par sa soeur Claudette. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Cécile; sept enfants : Denis (Ghyslaine) de Hearst, Céline (Alfred) de Mattice, Fernand (Rose) de Kapuskasing, Jean-Guy (Micheline) de Mattice, Violette (Michel) de Mattice, Julie (Roger) de Mattice et Elvis (Josée) de Mattice; cinq frères : Jean, Odilon, Gérard, Ernest et Roland; sept soeurs : Édith, Dalvina, Marie-Rose, Marie-Thérèse, Gaëtanne, Françoise et Diane; ainsi que 20 petits-enfants et 13 arrière-petits-enfants. Né à Munich en Allemagne le 29 octobre 1945, il a été électricien dans le domaine des pâtes et papier. Il était membre des Chevaliers de Colomb (3e degré) et aussi membre de la Légion royale canadienne. Il fut précédé dans la mort par son père Bernhard. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Mary; sa mère Maria de Perth en Ontario; deux filles : Liza (Doug Brodie) de North Bay et Monica, fiancée de Michael Coo de Kingston; deux frères : Manfred de Perth et Bernhard de Prince George en Colombie-Britannique. C'est le père Fernand Villeneuve qui conduira le service funèbre. L'inhumation a eu lieu au crématorium de Matheson. La famille apprécierait des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer.

ARSENAULT, Joseph Alyre - 72, Halifax, passed away June 28, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Born in Cape Egmont, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Theodore and Edna Arsenault. He is survived by his wife, the former Angela Dempsey; sons, Barry (Isabelle), Derrick (Karen), Dale (Ginny), Alyre (Liz); daughter, Yvonne (Ken); grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Sarah, Michael, Justin and Jonathan, who will sadly miss him; long-time family friend, Arthur Harrigan; brothers, Fred, Maxime, Leo; sisters, Thelma, Theresa, Eileen and Anna. He was predeceased by sister, Agnes. He was an active member of Spryfield Lions Club and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spryfield. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Hartlen Point and Briarwood Golf Courses. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces and retired with the rank of Master Chief Warrant Officer after 26 years. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Herring Cove Road, Halifax. Avis de décès Nicholson, Lee Anne Lee Anne Nicholson est décédée le 25 juin 2004, à l’hôpital Mont Sinai de Toronto, après une longue et courageuse bataille contre le cancer. Filles de feu Paul Joseph et feue Marion Horgan Nicholson, elle laisse dans le deuil, ses frères Corey (Kathy), Jay (Vicky), ses nièces Emily, Tara Bronwen, Alex et Robin, plusieurs oncles, tantes, cousins et amis de Montréal, Toronto, Chicago, Floride, Nouveau-Brunswick, Californie et Colombie Britannique. Lee Anne a fréquenté le Couvent de Valleyfield, l’école Trafalgar de Montréal, l’école Bishop Strachan de Toronto et a passé plusieurs merveilleux étés au Camp Ouareau à St-Donat (Québec) à titre de monitrice de camp. Elle détenait un diplome du Glendon College de l’Université York, un diplome en français de l’Université de l’Illinois ainsi qu’une maîtrise en administration de l’Université de Toronto. Longtemps employée par le TV Guide et Télémédia, travail qu’elle aimait et qu’elle a du quitter après sa première bataille contre la maladie. Lee Anne a consacré les 5 dernières années de sa vie à prendre soin de ses parents. Elle appréciait par dessus tout la compagnie de ses nièces, toujours fascinée par leur personnalité, leur originalité de pensées et leur grand sens de l’humour. À la place de fleurs, la famille préférerait que des dons soient faits à la mémoire de Lee Anne à la Fondation du Camp Ouareau, 2494 Route 125 Sud, St-Donat, Québec J0T 2C0. Vince served in WWII with the North Novas and is a 44 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #503 Onaping Falls. At Vince's request there will be no visitation. Mitchell, Regimental Commandant of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, 1946-1947. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Margaret, Esmond, Harry, Elizabeth Archibald, Andrea Cundill, and Christofer. Much loved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
