DOMINELLI, Maria Catena (nee Bonazza) In loving memory of Maria Catena (nee Bonazza) Dominelli, 88 years, who passed away Saturday afternoon, June 26, 2004 at Sudbury Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's Health Center. Born in Serra San Bruno, Catanzaro, Italy, she married Cosimo Dominelli in 1938 in Italy. Her greatest joy was her family and she looked forward to Sundays when her children and grandchildren would gather at her home for her famous meatballs. The past few years Maria's life was blessed by the many family members who gathered daily at her home. She was a devoted Roman Catholic member of St. Anthony's Church. She was a member of St. Anthony's CWL. Beloved wife of Cosimo Dominelli of Sudbury, predeceased March 1993. Loving mother of Rose (husband Orlando Schiafone), Carmela (husband Evelino Pierobon), Frank (wife Susan), Vince predeceased July 1998, Bruno (wife Marilyn) and Fernando all of Sudbury. Dear Nanna of Maria, Sam, Cosimo, James, Robert, Christina, Daniele, Laina, Catherine, David P., David D., Maria, Laura and Stephanie. Dear Great Nanna of Sarah, Mathiew, Tyler, Vincent, Sefra, Sara, and Jacob. Dear daughter of the late Vincenzo and Teresa Bonazza both predeceased. Dear sister of Nazzarena, Rosa, Raffaela, Bruno all predeceased. Outre sa conjointe et sa fille, il laisse dans le deuil la mère d'Elena, Laura Lajoie (Guy et la famille Lajoie), son beau-fils Jean (Dominique et leurs enfants Nicolas et Jérémie), sa belle-fille Josée (Michael et leurs enfants Sara et Sophie), son frère Ermano (Dora et leurs enfants Andrea, Roberto (Séverina et Clara)), feu son frère Franco (Vanda et leurs enfants, Pierre-Fausto et Giorgio), ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs Jacqueline, Jacques (Pierrette), Gaétane (Jean-Paul), Antonin (Nicole), Jean (Pauline), feu Jean-Marc (Simone), Claudette, Hélène et leurs enfants. Il laisse également dans le deuil de nombreux autres parents et amis. Il était un homme intègre, sage et courageux, rempli de charisme. Une personne extraordinaire appréciée et aimée de tous ceux qui ont eu la chance de le côtoyer. Son souvenir restera gravé dans nos mémoires, son amour continera à vivre dans nos coeurs et sa présence lumineuse à veiller sur nous. BUTROID, Arthur Wesley Passed away June 26, 2004 at the age of 88 years. Arthur was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, son of British immigrants from Woombwell, England. He was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia and was a prominent member of the "Kitsilano Boys Band". He played French Horn with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16 years. After graduation from high school he joined the R.C.M.P. He served with the Force in Ottawa, both as a member of the R.C.M.P. Musical Ride and the R.C.M.P. Band. He left the Force in 1943 when he married Marjorie Ethel Tyrrell. Arthur then joined the Navy and served in various capacities in Naval Intelligence rising to the rank of Commander, as Director, Security and Intelligence (Navy). He left the Navy in 1966 and joined the Department of Immigration as special advisor to the Prime Minister (Trudeau) and the Minister of Immigration on intelligence matters. He and his wife, Marjorie retired to Edmonton in 1978. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, son Roger (Margot) of Head of St. Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia; his daughter Barbara Van Vliet (Maury) and his two granddaughters, Kimberley and Samantha Sieben (Benjamin). LUSSIER _Rene J. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather. Rene was born on June 17, 1917 and he passed away peacefully on June 27, 2004. Left to mourn are his loving family, wife, Barb; daughters, Monique (Al) Gogol of Kelowna, BC, Debbie (Rich) Matheson of Saskatoon, Connie Lussier of Edmonton, Claudette (Glenn) Lindsay of New Brunswick, Rene's five granddaughters, Celeste and Alyson Gogol, Heather, Kim and Elise Matheson and two grandsons, Alex and Cameron Lindsay; two sisters, Henriette of Ontario and Salonge of BC. Rene was born born near Mariapolis, MB and he moved to Nut Mountain SK when he was 14 years old. Later moved to Weekes, SK and finally settled in Saskatoon in 1959. He worked as a custodian for the public school board for many years. He remembered with great fondness the 12 years he worked at City Park Collegiate prior to his retirement. Rene was a super dad who spent time with his children. Rene and Barb took their family on many travels across the country, many weekends were spent camping, fishing, canoeing or just relaxing at the acreage at Pike Lake. He faithfully attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church since 1959. Barb and Rene celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a Carribean Cruise in February 2004 with two of their daughters and one granddaughter. Husband, father, grandfather and friend of many, he will be sadly missed by us all. We Love You Dad. Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Martens Warman Funeral Home. SURRETTE, Basil Wallace - 62, died Monday, June 28, 2004, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Surrette (McDonell); daughters, Kimberly MacIntyre (Surrette) and husband Richard MacIntyre; Kandra Aucoin (Surrette) and husband John Aucoin; children from his previous marriage, Bradley and Jolene; sister Marie Oliver (Surrette) and husband Frank; nieces, Carla, Nicole, and Christine; nephew, Mark Bezanson. Basil was predeceased by his parents, Basil and Norma Surrette. Basil was a loving grampy to Madyson and Connor MacIntyre, and Jacob and Zachery Aucoin. He loved rock and roll and was often found playing darts and horseshoes. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Wednesday, June 30, from 2-4 p.m. Service to follow at 7 p.m. in Snow's Funeral Home. Bernice A. LeBlanc Bernice Alphonsine LeBlanc, 64, of Dover Road, Dieppe, passed away Monday, June 28, 2004 at her residence following a brief illness. Born SeLeBlancptember 24, 1939 in Fox Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Camille, and Anne-Marie (Melanson) . She was employed with Fines for many years and finished her final years with Université de Moncton. She will be sadly missed by her three sisters, Jeannita Gauvin (Leonard) of Natick, MA, Stella LeBlanc of Dieppe, Lucia Caissie (Arthur) of Marlborough, MA; two nieces, Suzanne and Carol Ann; four nephews, Leonard Jr., Norman, Michael, and David. COTE, Sr. Emilienne c.s.c. The Sisters of Holy Cross announce the passing of Sister Emilienne Cote (formerly Sr. Marie Regine) at the age of 96 years, at the Grey Nuns Regional Centre in Edmonton on June 27th, 2004. Sr. Emilienne taught school from 1931-1967 mostly in Fahler and in Fort Kent. She served as Director of Finance for the Sisters of Holy Cross in Edmonton from 1967-1977. She then retired in Edmonton and has been in the Grey Nun's Regional Centre since 1997. She will be remembered as a loved and loving educator, as a warm and welcoming person and as a faithful and committed companion. She will be sadly missed by the regional group of the Sisters of Holy Cross (Soeurs de Sainte Croix) as well as many nieces and nephews. Reverend Rene Belanger will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Church, 9810 165 Street, on Wednesday June 30, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. with Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. LeBLANC, Joseph Nelson "Bubby White" - 91, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., died Sunday, June 27, 2004, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born December 17, 1912, in Redding, Mass., he was a son of the late Alexander and Mary Alice (Lawrence) LeBlanc. He was a fish farm worker, having also worked with Rodney Construction, Yarmouth. Bubby was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in England with the South West Novies. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 22, Bear River. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and walking. Surviving are daughters, Rose (Peter) Muise, Yarmouth; Barb (Winston) Winchester, Betty (Lionel) Rice, Mary (James) Allen, Janice (Freeman) Thibodeau, Peggy (John) Chisholm, all of Bear River; sons, Joseph A. (Heather), Bear River; Joseph Jr., Digby; David (Wendy), Kevin (Beverlee), Stacy (Susanne), all of Yarmouth; Michael (Shelley), Brooklyn; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his wife, Belle Evelyn (Davis) LeBlanc; brother, Arthur; sisters, Sarah in infancy, Ida Moulaison, Doris Hudson; a grandson. CUTLER, John Edward. Passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home following a successful battle with cancer in his fifty-eight year on Wednesday, June 23 in Toronto. Son of the late Philip Cutler and the late Bertha Avrutick Cutler. Johnny, as he was fondly known, is dearly missed by loving sisters Judy and Tamara (Toni) and brothers Keir, Adam and wife Marina, Michael and wife Claudia, and Roger and wife Claire. Also greatly missed by May Ebbitt Cutler, wife of his late father Philip Cutler. Deeply respected and missed by nieces and nephews Anya and husband Nick Adair and Jason and wife Kristi Sunde; and remembered by nieces and nephews Philip, Samantha, Dylan, Chelsea, Sofia and Joseph. John had a gentle sense of humour and unique wonder which enriched the lives of all he encountered. He was known by many for his repertoire of songs, beautiful voice and love for Russian literature and country music. He was a retired Montreal restaurant worker, taxi/limo driver and most recently worked in Toronto as a community mental health support volunteer. John has a great love for animals and will be missed by pets Morty and Dylan.
