Alvery (Allie) LeBlanc MEMRAMCOOK, NB - Alvery (Allie) LeBlanc passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital at the age of 76. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Sebastien LeBlanc and the late Mary-Angela LeBlanc. He worked at Ford of Canada as a Auto Worker. He is survived by one sister, Julia (late Henry) Cormier of Moncton; three brothers, Delbert (Yvonne) LeBlanc of Moncton, Sammy (late Doris) LeBlanc of College-Bridge, Valmore (Barbara) LeBlanc of Langly, B.C.; and by several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by three sisters, Hilda Blakney, Helena Coombs, Anne LeBlanc; five brothers, Arthur, Pat, Eddee, Leroy, James. Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, May 5 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St-Thomas Roman Catholic Church, St-Joseph on Thursday, May 6 at 10:00 am. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery.

VANDALE, Tobie (Marcien) born January 9, 1932, passed away on May 1, 2004 at St. Paul's Hospital. Tobie was predeceased by: one daughter, Shirley Ann; and one son, Ronald David; his parents, Frank and Leona; two sisters, Wilma and Lena; two brothers, Joseph and Raymond; both in-laws, Ernest and Josephine Petit; brother in-law, Dona; one grandson, Christopher; one nephew, Delmar and niece, Linda. Tobie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita; and his children, Joseph (Seanna), Gary (Sandi), Dianne, Lorraine, Barb (Jeff), Jackie (Dean), Marcella, Michelle (Norm), Barry, Tony, Shelley, and Sharon (Lonny). Tobie is also survived by 49 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, too many to name; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Vigil of Prayer will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 and the Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 celebrated by Father Remi Hebert. Both services will take place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 20th St. and Avenue O. Interment in Catholic section of Woodlawn Cemetery. Predeceased by his wife Hazel Vaillancourt in 1987. Survived by his son Roy Vaillancourt (Candice Turner) of Timmins, his grandchildren Eugene Jr. Vaillancourt and Jody Vaillancourt, his great-grandaughter Karolyn Voyer of Timmins, his sisters Madeleine Roy (Omer) of Timmins, Fleurange Meunier (Late Ted) of Montreal, Annette Bélanger (late Morris) of London. Predeceased by his brothers Albert and Réal Vaillancourt. Mr. Vaillancourt served during World War II with the Second Infantry Division, 2nd Attank. PITRE, Alvarez Joseph The family announces with sorrow his death, Sunday May 2, 2004, in Sudbury, at the age of 76 years. Son of the late Domina and of the late Clara (nee Patenaude) Pitre. Beloved husband of Gracia Pitre (nee Pomerleau) of Noëlville. Loving father of Suzanne (Danny Dupuis) and Lise (Rhéal Savoie) both of Sudbury, Richard (Linda) and Michel both of Noëlville, Yvan (friend Lynn) of Sturgeon Falls, Diane (Chris Kelly) of Brampton, Linda (Mike Kingsley) and Carole (Don Trepanier) both of Edmonton. Predeceased by his 2 sisters and by his 7 brothers. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren and by his 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one grandson. Born in 1927, raised in Noëlville, Alvarez was a hard worker. He worked on the "Log Drive" for 14 years, worked in the bush in Temiskaming for 5 years, C.P. Rail for 9 years and was also a machine operator for a number of years. He married Gracia Pomerleau in 1955. Alvarez was deeply loved by all of his family. His great sense of humor will be missed by all. He was happiest when he talked and joked with everyone. Elle laisse dans le deuil un frère, Cléophas de Montréal; deux soeurs: Thérèse (Alcide Dugas) de Dugas et Anne-Marie (Dave Morgan) de Kelowna, C.-B.; un beau-frère, Adelbert Dugas de Grande-Anse, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins et cousines Quatre soeurs: Edwidge, Rita, Albina et Régina, ainsi qu’un frère, Tranquille, l’ont précédée dans la tombe. Selon les souhaits de la défunte, il n’y aura pas de visites au salon funéraire. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Simon et Saint-Jude de Grande-Anse, le mercredi 5 mai, à 16h. TURCOTTE, Philip Alfred (1944 - 2004) - Passed away suddenly at the St. Joseph's Health Centre, in Sudbury, on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Lovingly remembered by his wife Faye. Sadly missed by his sons Stacy (Heather), Corey, by daughters Terri Connely (Derek) all of Michigan, Amanda Turcotte (Pat), Samantha Turcotte of North Bay and grandchildren Amanda, Mitchell and Grace. Survived by his mother Ellen Turcotte. Predeceased by his daughter Christina Ann Turcotte and by his father Philip Charles Turcotte. Dearly loved son-in-law of Herman and Wilma Jones of Restoule. Remembered by his brother Irvine Turcotte, sisters Deanna Ranger (Rick) of Powassan and Doreen Quirt (Mike) of Orillia and by many other family and friends. Philip drove truck for himself and others over the past 44 years, and took pride in a job well done. He built two homes with his family at his side, every step of the way. He was truly admired by many. Philip believed in giving back to others and his last act was to be an Organ Donor. At Phil's request, a private visitation was held at the Martyn Funeral Home. Cremation was held at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. Irénée (Rene) Arsenault SHEMOGUE, NB -The death of Irénée (Rene) Arsenault, age 76 of Shemogue, occurred at his home on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Born in Egmont Bay, PEI, he was a son of the late Elizée and Theodozie (Richard) Arsenault. A life long fisherman, he was a mechanic. He was a member of St. Timothée Roman Catholic Church and the Club d'Age d'Or de Shemogue. Rene will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, the former Lorraine Duguay, Shemogue; a daughter, Marie (Albeo) Gould, Shemogue; two sons, Ronald (Rose Goodwin), Port Elgin and Bernard (Julia), of Shemogue; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua, Nicole and Jessalyn; 10 brothers, Donat (Vitaline), Philicien (Ella), Arsene (Julianne), Laurie (Melina), Alfred (Alice), Olivier (Alphonsine), Regis (Victoria),Tilmon (May), Edgar (Eva) and Gerard (Kathleen), all of Prince Edward Island; three sisters, Marguerite (Amand) Arsenault, Celina (Edward) Gallant and Alfreda (Dennis) Bernard, all of Prince Edward Island; a sister-in-law, Rita, Prince Edward Island; nieces and nephews. BROWN, Anne H. Succumbed following major surgery at the Kingston General Hospital on Saturday May 1, 2004; the former Anne Hope Sutcliffe of Brockville, at the age of 72 years. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Eva Sutcliffe. Survived by her beloved husband of 51 years Bob (Robert) C. Brown (Commander R.C.N. Retired). Loving mother of Ross and his wife Erica of Mississauga, Rob and his wife Connie of Kitchener, and Sandy and his wife Barbara of Renfrew. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Anne Howie Brown and Jonathon Brown, by step-grandchildren Patrick Steiner, Sandra Crowe and Kayla Hunter and a great-grandchild Ethan Crowe. Also survived by brother Edward Sutcliffe and his wife Jean of Halifax. Bob's best friend and most loving wife, and mother extraordinaire. She was an avid golfer, keen bridge player; and with her generous and very outgoing nature, the quintessential entertainer and hostess to her loving family and cherished friends. DAVIS, George F.S. Retired Professional Engineer (Civil) Veteran WWII (Winnipeg Grenadiers) Peacefully, at the Perley-Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, on Friday, April 30, 2004 in his 84th year. Survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Eileen Davis (nee Macartney), his son Dr. Glen Davis (Sharon), Australia, his daughter Janice Davis, Ottawa, and two grandchildren Ben and Scott, Australia. He is also survived by one sister and two brothers. After graduating with his B.Sc. from the University of Alberta, George spent many years as consultant to building projects across Canada with Hudson Bay Companies, then worked as a senior Engineer with the Federal Government at D.P.W. He was active in engineering activities such as former president of University of Alberta Alumni in Ottawa and Councillor with the APEO. He volunteered as a track and field timer, a scout leader and was an avid golfer and curler as a member of the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club. As his memory faltered in his last years with Alzheimer's disease, he was grateful for support from the Redwoods Retirement Home and St. Patrick's Day Away. A special thank you to the amazing staff in Gatineau 1 North at the Perley-Rideau. According to George's wishes, there will be no visitation. BOUDREAU, Darren Joseph - 38, Upper Tantallon, died April 30, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII after a courageous three and a half year battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Sarnia, Ont. and raised in River Bourgeois, he was a son of Whitney and Gloria (Fougere) Boudreau. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Brenda (Flynn); son, Jacob; daughter, Grace; brother, Perry (Mary); nephews, Sam and Ben; nieces, Carley and Alex; numerous close aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from St. Mary's University in May 1989 with a B.Comm. He was previously employed by the N.S. Rehab and the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Most recently, Darren worked for Aliant Inc. in the finance department. He loved his job as well as the people he worked with. Darren was a sports enthusiast, avid reader and enjoyed music. He had a great love of children. He was most happy surrounded by his family and friends. He loved being the centre of attention, and was best known for his sarcasm and wit. He was an all round amazing person and will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. No flowers by request. A celebration of Darren's life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A reception will follow in the funeral home lounge. A celebration of Darren's life for family and friends in Cape Breton will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday in Tara Lynn Community Centre, River Bourgeois. BUYSSE Emiel - Suddenly on Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Brantford General Hospital, surrounded by his family, Emiel Buysse, at the age of 90; beloved husband of the late Alma (1987); loving father of Roger, and Christiaan and his wife Penny; cherished grandfather to Christian, Michael, Jonathan, Rosanne and Julie and great-grandfather to Kyle, Aaron, Christopher, Michelle, Tristan and Donald. LAFLEUR, Theodore "Ted" In loving memory of Theodore "Ted" LaFleur who passed away peacefully but not alone, at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury, April 30, 2004 at the age of 80. He was the last of the LaFleur's one of the first settlers in Sudbury. He will not join his parents Leandre and Rode (nee Roy), and siblings Edmond, Leo, (Lucienne nee Valiquette), Patrick (Irma nee Kennedy), Marie Blanchette (Wilfred), Roger (Simone nee Gour). Ted married Jean Harrison in 1944 in Swastika, Ontario and raised his family in Sudbury. He served 38 years at INCO and retired in 1984 to enjoy hunting, fishing, bear baiting and "chewing the fat" with his coffee club buddies at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre. He always had a special relationship with his four-legged friends especially Chinook who was his special visitor at Pioneer Manor. Ted is the proud father of Caroline McIntosh (John Anzil), Carl (Helen nee Lavoie), Raymond (Florence nee Reid), Susan Popowich (Earle), Larry (Suzanne nee Messier), Monica Dupuis (Frank) and Rose Goring (Bruce). EDWARD DEBUSSCHERE Near Minnedosa, MB on Thursday, April 29, 2004, Mr. Ed Debusschere of Winnipeg, MB passed away at the age of 72 years. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Rolande (nee LeRoux); three children, Evelyne Putulik of Winnipeg, Charles Debusschere (Heather) of Calgary, and Marie-Lynne Debusschere (Ryan) of Winnipeg; five grandchildren, Nicole, Teresa, Braden, Tyler and Carter. He also leaves to mourn his passing two brothers, Auguste (Therese) and Bob (Pauline); three sisters, Angele Mazurat, Alice Dondo (Roland) and Marie Rose Major; and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Charles in 1963, his mother Marie-Louise (nee Durupt) in 1997, one brother Leon, and by two brothers-in-law: Albert Mazurat and Albert Major. Edward (Ed, Dad, Grandpa) was born in Forget, SK on April 29, 1932. Ed spent his youth attending school and helping out on the family farm. While still a teenager, he left home to complete his primary education and earned his high school diploma. One of his first jobs was teaching school in the small town of St. Rose Du Lac. In 1956, he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba. On October 4, 1959 Ed met his future wife Rolande at a wedding reception for a mutual cousin. She fondly remembers a song he sang that day, which would spark a relationship that would last forever. On July 8, 1961 he took her hand in marriage. Eventually, they settled into their present house of 36 years which he designed and built. They raised their three children there, and would later help to raise two grandchildren there as well. Dad enjoyed having coffee with Mom at Salisbury House, watching TV and travelling to Las Vegas. His love and devotion to mom never faltered over the 43 years they were married. Ed worked for many different engineering firms in Winnipeg while at the same time operating a farm near Haywood, MB. In 1982, he went into business together with Mr. Walter Wolfe to form Manengco Engineering; a multi discipline firm providing consulting services to many clients and businesses across central and southern Manitoba. He was well known and respected in the business community. In his later years Ed continued to work from home while caring for Rolande who suffered a stroke in 1998. His patient and caring nature provided much needed comfort, love and support in the years following. Our fondest memory of Dad was his passion for music. Many Christmases and Easter gatherings were spent listening to him sing and play guitar with his daughters, cousins, and nephews. Bluegrass music was of special interest to him over the last few years, and he could be found jamming in the basement of his home in Charleswood with his bluegrass buddies or attending festivals in various locations. He could also be found with one of his grandchildren on his knee showing them how to play guitar, banjo and fiddle. He loved his family dearly and always made time to help and guide them. He loved cars and was always tinkering away on whatever was sitting in the driveway. Père Jean-Claude Guillemette À l’hôpital Laval de Québec, samedi le 1er mai, à l’âge de 62 ans et 11 mois, est décédé le Père Jean-Claude Guillemette, de la Communauté des Fils de Marie. Il a été confié à la maison funéraire coopérative funéraire de l’anse 280, 8e Rue, Québec QC G1L 2N9 Né le 19 mai 1941, au Cap-de-la-Madeleine, il était fils de feu Joseph-Aimé Guillemette et de feue Yvette Dufresne; il était le 10e enfant d’une famille de 13. Ordonné prêtre le 18 décembre 1965 dans la Communauté des Oblats de Marie-Immaculée, il oeuvra entre autre comme missionnaire au Chili et aumônier d’hôpital en divers endroits dont Rimouski où il fit connaissance, en 1972, de l’Armée de Marie. Il devint Fils de Marie en 1981, puis, en avril 1988, il fut nommé Directeur général de l’Armée de Marie et Coordonnateur des 3 oeuvres connexes. En 1994, il devint Conseiller international des Oblats-Patriotes, puis, en 2002, Aumônier des Filles de Marie de Québec.
