AUSTIN, William John Tegart Died suddenly on Monday, March 29, 2004. Born February 7, 1922, in Toronto, to Elizabeth (Graham) and Dewitt Tegart. Brother to James (Jim), Helen, Jean, and Murray. Upon the death of his mother, he went to live with, and was later adopted by his father's relatives: Marguerite and W.E. Austin of Gananoque, ON. Predeceased by his wife Sarah Maude Rackham (Sally). Survived by his children Nancy Austin, Jill Austin (Kendall Lougheed) and Martha Austin (Peter Oke), grandchildren Connor and Stuart Oke and Matthew and Martin Lougheed, and great-grandchldren Chantal and Caitlin Jararuse. Bill and Sally lived in London, ON, Baltimore, MD and Ottawa before retiring to their home at Hill Island on the St. Lawrence River. Bill was a professional photographer and graphic artist. In retirement, he took great pleasure in living on the river, surrounded by his pets, and experimenting with digital arts on his computer. His family wish to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses, and particularly the ICU staff, of Kingston General Hospital for their professionalism and compassion. PATON, Kathleen (nee Baxter). Kay passed away peacefully in her eighty-fifth year on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Southlake Regional Hospital. Kay was the beloved wife of the late Norman Paton and loving mother of Norma (Gib), June (Lee), Tony (Sandra) and Bill. Predeceased by brother Doug Baxter and sister Gwen (Jim) Finnemore and brother-in-law Gerry Mick. Fondly remembered by sisters Grace Mick, Dorothy (Douglas) MacKay, and sister-in-law Dorothy Baxter. Kay loved her many grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family moved from Montreal to Mississauga in 1965. Kay's passions were family, golf and tennis. McELGUNN, Therese Marie (nee Ouellet) On March 31, 2004, Mrs. Therese Marie McElgunn of Edmonton, Alberta passed away at the age of 78 years. PAPKE, Mary Matilda Smollett. Passed away peacefully on March 17, 2004 at the Centre d'Accueil de la Baie in New Carlisle, Quebec in her ninety-seventh year. She was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by her parents, Digby Smollett and May Caldwell and her sister and brothers, Leora (Steele), Dewey, Henry, Philip, Frederick, James and Robert, also by her beloved husband of many years William Papke. She leaves to mourn her many nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Mary was a retired teacher, having taught in several areas throughout the province. She and her husband were longtime residents of Montreal where she was a faithful member of St. Andrew and St. Paul Presbyterian Church. MOREY, Thomas Alexander, Sadly, but after a life well lived, the family of Tom Morey announce the passing of this wonderful man on March 30, 2004. To all who knew Tom over his 89 years, he was always a kind, happy, positive and outgoing individual. He was devoted and caring to his late wife Tillie (August 11, 1999) for some 50 years. So proud and supportive towards his three girls - Carol, Shirley and Barbara. Tom was not only a father-in-law to Frank Krsul, John Duffy and Leeland MacDonald, bu t a true friend who was always there to lend a helping hand or words of moral support. His granchildren Tim and Peter (Trisha) Krsul, Jessica (Eric) Gravelle, Quinn (Michael Serafino) MacDonald and John (Lidia Romeo) Duffy will treasure their wonderf ul memories of their remarkable "Pap" - memories to share with Ciara, his great-granddaughter. Tommy lived his entire life in or close to his hometown Thorold. Many may recall this hard working paperworker during his 40 years of employment at the Abi tibi/Fraser plant or as a sociable vet who was a life member at both the Canadian Corps Unit #44 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 Thorold. He will be missed by friends from many years of camping and socializing. LITTLE, Irene Dorothy. Peacefully, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario, on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. Irene Dorothy Little (nee Cain) of Barrie in her eighty-seventh year. Beloved wife of the late Royce "Bud" Little. Dearly loved mother of Bill Royce Little of Tofino, B.C., Penny Harding and her husband Glenn of Charlotte, North Carolina, Laurie Hewings-Little and her husband Jack of Chicago. Loving grandmother of Jade Harding. Dear friend of Gary and Joanne Grant. Remembered with affection by her nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by all her good friends from Thetford Mines, Quebec where she spent many wonderful years. Irene was a multi-talented lady with diverse interests. She was a Red Cross Volunteer during WWII, a school board commissioner, newspaper columnist, award winning real estate agent as well as a gifted craftsperson and gardener. Special thanks to the staff at Woods Park Care Centre and the Nursing Staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their care and attention. A family service was held. S. ROGER G. BEAUFOY S. Roger G. Beaufoy, at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, on Friday, April 2, 2004. Roger is survived by his wife Anne who he married in 1953; niece Barbara Qualley of Victoria, BC; Patricia, Lelia, Ursula and Sydney of Winnipeg, Suzanne and James Fletcher who became part of his family. He was predeceased by sister Ursula; and brother Antony. He was born in Bristol, England, April 26, 1921, schooled and lived in Winnipeg, MB, until 1941, served for five years overseas with Lord Strathcona's Horse (RC). Upon return he became a gifted player with the Winnipeg Drama Club and played many roles in the CBC Farm and School Broadcasts. Roger was of strong character, a mischievous spirit, a passionate man and proud to be a retailer. He was founder of the Traveller Leather Shop from 1966 to 1990. He was decisive, determined, conservative in politics and compassionate. Many young high school and university girls crossed his path in the retail world. He called them "his daughters." His great pleasure was to see them succeed in whatever profession they chose. He enjoyed many hobbies, stained glass, the computer and golf being his favourite. He was past-president of the London Executive Association - active in the Downtown Merchant's Association (now B.I.A.). Friends may call on Sunday, April 4 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be conducted at the family plot, St. Paul's Cemetery, Brooklin, ON. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Society Canada would be sincerely appreciated.

CAMERON, David Robert Died of melanoma on Thursday April 1st, in Ottawa, at 48 years. Loving and loved husband of Marie-Line Desjardins, father of Etienne and Anne. Son of Helen Cameron and the late Donald Evan Cameron. Brother of Hugh, Alan, Bill, Peggy & Catherine (Rogers). A longtime resident of Quebec, where he made his home, David's gentle manner and empathy with all living creatures gave him a special rapport with dogs, cats, small children and even the microbes that flourished under his attention in Tembec's pioneering programmes for recycling pulp wastes.
