Born at Lower Woodstock on November 23, 1910, he was a son of the late Jeremiah Thomas Riordon and Almina (Stickney) Riordon. He is survived by his wife, A. MCCANN, GREGORY HUGH The death of Gregory Hugh McCann of Douglas, husband of Josephine (Shields) McCann, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 29. Born on September 3, 1922 in Cloudy Settlement. He was the son of the late William and Margaret (Kirby) McCann, he was a truck driver for HS Gills and Sons for several years. Gregory was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the North Shore Regiment where he was wounded twice in France. He was lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 59, and member of St. Theresa's Church. Gregory was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and making maple syrup. He took pride in being the best father, grandfather, and friend he could be, and put the concerns of others before his own. He will be sadly missed. Besides his wife, Gregory is survived by sons William (Karen) McCann of Keswick, Jack McCann of Douglas and Lorne McCann of Douglas; daughters Margaret McCann of Douglas and Ellen Dunphy (Brent) of Keswick; brother Vincent McCann of Douglas, and grandchildren Helena McCann (Boo Boo) of Burtt's Corner and her fiancée Jeremy Wilson, Jessica and Karah McCann (Lovebugs) of Keswick; one uncle Leo Kirby and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gregory was predeceased by brothers James McCann and Joseph McCann (Dorothy); and sister Mary Burtt (Willis). Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Theresa's Church on Wednesday at 12 p.m. Father John Jennings will officiate. DEBLY, GEORGE MAGID Following a lengthy illness with Diabetes the death of George Magid Debly occurred on Sunday, February 29, 2004 surrounded by his loving family. George was in various businesses and when he retired he went back to barbering enjoying the many customers who came into his shop. He loved his family and gardening. CONNELL, MARGUERITE DOW Marguerite Dow Connell of Northampton, wife of the late J. Henry Connell, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2004 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jennie (Dow) Gibson. Mrs. Connell was a schoolteacher and a devoted homemaker to her family. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Connell is survived by a daughter, Norma Dore of Southampton; three sons, Bert Connell (Dorothy) of Northampton, Charles Connell (Phyllis) of Hanwell, and John Connell (Rosalie) of Northampton; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Gary Davis of Bridgewater, Maine; a sister-inlaw, Laura Connell of Seattle, Washington; and by several nieces and nephews. RYAN KENNETH SCARR SCARR - Ryan Kenneth Scarr of Aurora passed away at home on Feb. 29, 2004, after a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer. Born in Kirkland Lake on May 2, 1954, he was 49. Ryan worked at the Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake for more than 20 years. Upon closure of the mine, he trained as a stationary engineer at the Co-Gen plant in Kirkland Lake. He moved to Bradford, Ont. in 2001, and then to Barrie, Ont. soon after, working in the construction industry. He moved to Aurora in 2002, when he was hired at the Ontario Power Generation plant in Pickering, where he trained to become a nuclear operator. Active all his life, he was an avid angler, and was involved for many years as a player and coach in slow pitch softball. He was the son of Kenneth and Olive Scarr and was predeceased by his father in 1995. His mother survives him and lives in Barrie. He is survived by his wife Kelly Davis of Aurora and a son, Christopher, of Kirkland Lake. He is also survived by six sisters and brothers-in-law: Diane (Vic) Andrews of Georgetown; Judy (Mike) Tataryn of Barrie; Faye (Rich) Fiebig of Waterdown; Carol (Lee) Ballantyne of Barrie; Linda (Barry) Emack of Burlington; and Claudette (Kirk) Myelde of Rockland. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Betty Davis of Kirkland Lake, and two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lori and Walter Franczyk of Bracebridge, and Wendy and Fred Colschen of Wyoming. Fifteen nieces and nephews and their families also survive. The funeral will be arranged by Thompson Funeral Home, 29 Victoria St., Aurora. Following cremation, visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 3, from 7-9 p.m. and a memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 4 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Ryan's name to Saint Elizabeth Health Care, 8920 Woodbine Ave., Suite 303, Markham.

BOURASSA, Sophia Margaret Mrs. Sophia Bourassa, born in Norris Point, Newfoundland on February 21, 1921, passed away on February 28, 2004 in Edmonton, Alberta. Sophia will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wilfred Bourassa of Edmonton, her children: Joan Hughs of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Terry (William) Stewart of New Brunswick; Margaret (Bernard) Robbins of Ontario; James McKenzie, Reuben (Gloria) McKenzie, Cora (Ray) Parsons and John McKenzie all of Newfoundland; Richard (Jill) McKenzie of Ontario; Elizabeth (Gideon) Randell and Christine Spurvey of Newfoundland; Derek McKenzie of Edmonton; Stella (Edward) MacFarlane of Ardrossan; Sheila Graham of Barbados and Gerald (Judy) McKenzie of Ontario. ARMAND BOULET Paisiblement, entoure de son epouse et de sons fils, Armand est decede le 23 fevrier 2004 a l'age de 85 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil son epouse Louise (Robin) ainsi que deux fils et deux filles, Armand (Charlotte Desbiens), Havre-Saint-Pierre, QC et leur trois enfants, Tania, Karine et Pierre; Lilianne (Daniel Erickson), Leduc, AB et leur deux enfants Michelle et Tania; Paul-Emile (Rhonda Stearns) et beau-fils RJ, Winnipeg; et Edith (John Wylie) de Winnipeg, ainsi que trois arriere petits-enfants. L'ont precedes dans le tombe son premier epouse Valentine (Andree), son pere et sa mere, Archelas et Clara (Potvin) Boulet; six freres, Eugene, O.M.I., Denis O.M.I., Wilfrid, Noel, Lionel et Gerard; deux soeurs, Sr. Rose Boulet, S.G.M. et Yvonne Boulet. Lui survivent deux freres, son jumeau Andre (Jean), Toronto, ON, et Charles (Germaine), Winnipeg, ainsi que nombreux neveux et nieces. Armand naquit a Dunrea, MB le 29 juillet 1918. Il etait le onzieme d'une famille de quinze enfants. Il perdit son pere, Archelas, alors qu'il n'avait que quatre ans ce qui fit que tres jeune, n'ayant que complete la troisieme annee, il quitta l'ecole pour travailler a la ferme pour aider la famille. Il servit dans l'armee comme camioneur durant la deuxieme guerre mondiale. Il epousa sa premiere femme Valentine (Andree) en 1946 et travailla comme cordonnier pendant un an a Elie au Manitoba. De cette union naquit Armand jr. Malheureusement Valentine fut emportee par la maladie en 1952. Ne pouvant continuer son metier en raison de mal de dos, Armand retourna aux etudes ou il recu son GED ce qui lui a permis d'obtenir un emploi au bureau de meteorologie ou il resta jusqu'a sa retraite en 1983. Il epousa Louise (Robin) en 1954 et de leur union fut nes trois enfants, Lilianne, Paul-Emile et Edith. Devoue a sa famille, Armand etait toujours pret a leur donner un appui. It etait aussi devoue a sa paroisse, le Sacre-Coeur, ou it siega au sein du comite de finances pendant plus de vingt-cinq ans. Tres genereux il supportait diverses organisms tel que l'A.M.M.I. qu'il tenait a coeur. Il etait toujours pret a aider et servir et fit du benevolat au Foyer Valade. Il adorait jouer aux cartes et fut membre de deux clubs d'age d'or, dont Vive la Joie et les Feuilles d'Or. Il etait farceur et aimait rire. La famille desire remercier tous les gens pour leur appui, leur sympathie et leur amour. La famille remercie tout specialement le departement de medicine 5B a l'hopital Saint-Boniface. Il y aura visionnement avant le service a 10h30 le mardi 2 mars a la Paroisse du Sacre-Coeur, 424 avenue Brandon, suivi immediatement par la messe a 11h00. He will be missed by his wife Louise (Robin); and his two sons and two daughters, Armand (Charlotte Desbiens), Havre-Saint-Pierre, QC, and their three children, Tania, Karine and Pierre; Lilianne (Daniel Erickson), Leduc, AB, and their two children, Michelle and Tania; Paul-Emile (Rhonda Stearns), and stepson RJ, Winnipeg; and Edith (John Wylie), Winnipeg; as well as three great-grandchildren. Armand was predeceased by his first wife Valentine (Andree); his parents, Archelas and Clara (Potvin) Boulet; six brothers, Eugene, O.M.I., Denis, O.M.I., Wilfrid, Noel, Lionel and Gerard; and two sisters, Sister Rose Boulet (Grey Nun) and Yvonne Boulet. He is survived by two brothers, his twin Andre (Jean), Toronto, ON and Charles (Germaine), Winnipeg. He leaves to mourn many other nieces and nephews. Armand was born in Dunrea, MB, July 29, 1918. He was the 11th child in a family of 15 children. His father passed away when he was only four years old which meant that very young, having only completed grade three, he left school to work on the farm to help out the family. He served in the army as a truck driver during the Second World War. He married his first wife Valentine (Andree) in 1946 and worked as a shoemaker for one year in Elie, MB. From this union was born Armand Jr. Sadly, Valentine passed away from illness in 1952. Not being able to continue his shoemaker's career due to back problems, Armand returned to school to complete his GED, which enabled him to start a new career with the Weather Bureau, where he worked until his retirement in 1983. He married Louise (Robin) in 1954 and from that union were born Lilianne, Paul-Emile and Edith. Devoted to his family, Armand was always prepared to lend a helping hand. He was also a strong supporter of his parish Sacre-Coeur, where he served on the finance committee for over 25 years. Very generous of nature, he supported several organizations, such as l'A.M.M.I., which he held dear to his heart. He was always willing to assist and be of service to others and worked as a volunteer at Foyer Valade. He adored playing cards and was a member of two senior clubs, Vive la Joie and les Feuilles d'Or. He was a joker and loved to laugh. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support, sympathy and love. We wish to thank the staff at 5B Medicine, St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. Viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, at Sacre-Coeur Parish, 424 Brandon Ave., followed immediately by mass at 11:00 a.m. Green Acres Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 222-3241.

Sherrie Elizabeth Beck 1959-2004 Sherrie Elizabeth Beck, 44, of Riverside-Albert, N.B. formerly of Hamilton, Ontario passed away suddenly on February 28, 2004 at her residence. She was born in Moncton on July 29, 1959 the daughter of the late Clement E. Beck and Barbara (Harrison) Beck Hartley. She loved country music and enjoyed dancing. She will always be remembered. ROY, Mariette September 1919 - December 7 2003 This family announces with sorrow and regret her death December 7. Mariette passed away peacefully at her home 96 John Street Stratford, Ontario December 7, 2003. She was born in Schreiber, Ontario, daughter of the late Euclid and Alma Gratton née (Blais). Dear mother of Rochelle (Ian) of London and Bernard of Strathroy. Beloved grandmother of Jeannine (Harold) of Pickering and Maria-Lise (Kieran) of Barbados. Dear great grandmother of Joshua, Ian, Curtis, Dylan, Paige and Sophie. She had two brothers, Léo (Judy) of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Eddy (Lois) predeceased in Toronto. Mariette loved people so she opened her beautiful home to "Bed and Breakfast" inviting the visitors to Stratford to enjoy their stay. She will always be remembered for her talents in cooking. Her guests kept coming back year after year and she remembered the food they seem to prefer. She was always up and early to bake her specialty "Hot tea biscuits". She drove to the country side where the farmers raised hens, free to run so they gave organic eggs. Mariette loved to travel. She will be remembered for the guided tour of the city of which she was so proud, its three theatres, the Festival is amongst the best theatres in the world. BISHOP, WILFRED GEORGE At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, on March 1st, 2004 Wilfred George Bishop, born in Chipman in 1917, the son of the late Amos and Elzina (Annie) Bishop. Predeceased by his wife Margaret Mae Bishop in 2002, brother Calvin Bishop and sisters Vera Babington, Cora Galbraith, Blanche Horncastle, and Madeline Chase. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Bishop of Halifax and his son Darrell (Betty) Bishop of Fredericton; and by grandchildren Darren, Brian, Liam and Meagan. Wilfred was the longest sitting member in the Legislature of the Province of New Brunswick, serving thirty five years as a member for Queens County and Queens North. He was first elected in 1952. He was appointed Minister of Natural Resources in 1970. In 1972 he became Minister of Highways (later Transportation) where he served for thirteen years. In October, 1985 he was appointed President of the Executive Council, where he served until his retirement in the Fall of 1987. Prior and during his service to New Brunswick, Wilfred was also active in private business. In the early 1940's he began a lumber and sawmill business with his father and later his brother (Bishop Brothers). He was President of Bishop Lumber Co., B & F Lumber Company, and Bishop Sawmills Ltd. Wilfred's greatest love was people. He touched the lives of many as a loving father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. He will be resting at the Chipman Funeral Home (339-6612 sharchip@nbnet.nb.ca) until Thursday, March 4th, 2004 when funeral service will be held from the Second Chipman United Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with rev. John Dunnett and Rev. Harry Branscombe officiating. Spring interment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday.
