MISCOU - En Ontario, le mercredi 4 février 2004, à l’âge de 70 ans, est décédé Vincent Bezeau, ex-époux de Germaine Bezeau, née Dugas (Hiram Lecouteur), domicilié à Miscou. Né le 9 novembre 1933, il était fils de feu Romain Bezeau et de feu Exilia Leclair. Il laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Murielle Chiasson (René) de Lamèque et Simonne Bezeau (Roger) d’Ottawa; trois fils: Vincent Guy de Collingwood, Ont., Robert et Bertrand (Karen), tous deux de Vancouver; six soeurs: Lucienne (William) de Miscou, Exilia (Claude) et Linette (Reynald), toutes deux de Petit-Shippagan, Onilda (Alphonse) de Petite-Rivière-de-l’Île, Lucie (Jude) d’Inkerman et Lina (Simon) de Tracadie-Sheila; quatre frères: Benoit (Fernande) de Sainte-Marie-Saint-Raphaël, Romain (Emma) et Jean-Baptiste (Judy), tous deux de Miscou et Télesphore (Nicole) de Coteau Road; une belle-soeur, Viola Bezeau; neuf petits-enfants: Christian, Annick, Mélissa, Meggie, Billy, Jessey, Andrew, Sébastien et Tanny-Lee, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Un frère, Félicien, ainsi qu’une soeur, Rose-Marie l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le dimanche 8 février, à la salle mortuaire de Miscou. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue de Miscou, le lundi 9 février, à 11h. Heures de visites: le dimanche 8 février, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le lundi 9 février, de 9h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. PARENT, LLOYD WILFRED - The death of Lloyd Wilfred Parent of the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home, 130 University Avenue, formerly of 441 Russell Hill Road, Saint John, N.B. occurred at his residence on February 5, 2004 after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John on July 8, 1919, he was a son of Coles W. Parent and Gladys (Ellingwood) Parent. Mr. Parent worked as a chemist at the Reversing Falls Pulp Mill and then for many years was employed as a stationary engineer by General Dairies and later Baxter Foods. He was a member of Hillcrest United Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons and in various other capacities. He was also active with the Gideons and the Canadian Bible Society as well as other Christian organizations. He was always interested in technical and scientific developments and was an amateur radio operator (VE1TP). In later life he enjoyed the internet as well. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris (Rockwell) Parent and daughter Judy McLellan (Hugh) of Rothesay, N.B.. He was predeceased in 2002 by daughter Lynn Cullinan (Brian), also of Rothesay. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Cathy, Dave (Karen), Lloyd (Kamini), Tom and Lynn McLellan and Justin and Dave Cullinan, as well as one great-grandchild, Helena McLellan; a sister Lois Carlson (the late Rev. Robert) of Rhode Island, a brother Rev. Hazen Parent (Hazel) of Bridgewater, N.S., a sister-in-law Shirley Smith (the late Rev. Lloyd) of Saint John and a number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, N.B., with visiting on Sunday, February 8, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM only. PRIMEAU, Fern (nee Morin) Mrs. Fern Mae Primeau (nee Morin), late of Barrhead, AB formerly of High Prairie, AB, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the age of 91 years. COULOMBE, Isabel Helen (Bunty Wilson) 1938 - 2004 Isabel Helen Coulombe passed away January 31, 2004 at the age of 65 years. She was predeceased by her husband Marcel Coulombe on September 8, 2001, and a sister Norma Chayer in 1997. Isabel leaves to mourn her daughter and two sons, Laurie-Ann (Robert) Deblois of Calgary, Paul (Karen) Coulombe of Edmonton, and Philip (Louise) Coulombe of Calgary; seven grandchildren, Marc, Colin and Corinne Deblois, and Jesse, Kaitlyn, Zachary and Derek Coulombe. DUFRAINE, Lee Ralph "Leroy" November 4, 1946 - February 5, 2004 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Mr. Leroy Dufraine at the age of 57 years. PAGE, Grace Helen Mendies, RN Peacefully, in Ottawa on January 31, 2004, Grace left us to join her dear Ted (the late Capt. E.J. Page, Burma Army Service Corps). Born 1913 in Maymyo, Burma, she fled her beloved country in 1942 and was never able to return. She worked as a nurse in Burma, the UK and Canada. She was a life long learner who earned her Diplome d'Etudes Collegiale at age 72. She did beautiful Chinese paintings, practised Tai Chi, and maintained an interest in current affairs. She bequeathed her independent spirit to her daughters, Pat (Peter Hoisak) Ottawa, Carol (Dr. Winston Emery), St. Lambert, QC, Margot (Ulrich Briner) Duncan, B.C., to whom she also passed on her love of education, her artistic talent, her gardening and culinary skills. SMYLSKI, Albert, Passed away suddenly at home on Friday, February 6, 2004 in his 84th year. Albert was born June 6, 1920 in Dauphin, Manitoba. Much loved husband and best friend of Mary (nee Romano) for 58 years. Loving father of Cheryl Sawada (Fran k), Karen Paiva (Joseph), Donald (Mary), Brian (Debra) and Dennis (Marie). He will be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Catherine and Anton Smylski, his brothers Peter and Glen and by his sisters Anne Gourlay, Mary Borkowski and Teeni Sanchuk. Albert worked for Provincial Crane as Supervisor of Stores, Shipping and Receiving for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He was a me mber of Our Lady of Peace Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Palmer for his many years of care. Rev. Shane Bengert and Fr. DORTHE VICTORIA (PETRI) MARR Dorthe Victoria (Petri) Marr, 85, passed away peacefully at Emo Hospital in Emo, Ont. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 after a short illness. Born in Beltrami County, Mn. on June 25, 1918, she immigrated with her family to the Blackhawk area in 1924. Her education was by correspondence, but mostly by living life in the pioneer fashion. From a young age, she did farm chores and later worked alongside her father and brothers doing logging and pulpwood. On April 4, 1945, she married Hedley Marr, and took on their own farm and raising their two children, Ellen and Tom. When the children were of school age, she returned to working in the bush alongside her husband. She was always at his side doing the farm work and looking after the cattle, as well as finding time to sew new clothes for the children. After a touch of cancer, Dorthe turned her time and talents towards babysitting the grandchildren, making quilts, doing embroidery work, and always baking bread, making cinnamon buns, pies, doughnuts, etc. for anyone she thought may like them or were too busy to make them themselves. She took great pride in her garden, as well as flowers and houseplants. One highlight of the past several years was exhibiting things at the Emo Fair, always coming home with her share of red ribbons on all her entries. The grandchildren, Anne (Tyler) McKinnon, Laurel (Murray) Armstrong, Murray Wilson (Pam Teeple), and Bradley (Terry) Marr always have held a special place in her heart. And now that the great-grandchildren, Jillian and Jessi Armstrong, Cassidy and Cameron McKinnon, and Tyler and Mariah Marr, have arrived, they, too, have been a special delight to her, making sure they were always taken care of in the right way! Dorthe was predeceased by her husband, Hedley in 1989; her parents, Victor and Clara Petri; brothers, Francis, Charles, and Victor (Sonny); sisters, Katherine (Sis) Snider and Helen Petri; brothers-in-law, Wilbert Snider, Jack Cameron, Jack and Frank Marr, and David Niven; and sisters-in-law, Marie Petri, Christine Roen, and Vera Marr. She is survived by her children, Ellen (Dan) Wilson of Emo, Ont. and Tom (Lorna) Marr of Perch Lake (Atikokan, Ont.); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Virginia Cameron of Stratton, Ont. and Elizabeth (George) Hawryluk of Shebandowan, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Carol Petri of Nestor Falls, Ont., Jean Niven of Minitonas, Man., and Mary Marr of Winnipeg, Man.; special cousin, Howard (Evelyn) Roen of Blackhawk, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in the Chapple Cemetery in Barwick at a later date. Friends may visit prior to the funeral service on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home. The honourary pallbearers will be Alvin McClain, Kent Johnson, Joe Georgeson, Murray Georgeson, Mike Gurski, Oscar Burnell, Ken Roen, and Tom Roen.
