CHAMBERLAIN, Lionel G. After a courageous battle with lung disease, passed away January 22, 2004 peacefully at home at the age of 71 years. Beloved wife of 47 years to Adrienne (nee Lanoue). Loving father of Denise and husband Ron Westwood of Windsor, Diane and husband Howard Rosenberg of London, Debbie and husband Pat Cushing of LaSalle. Cherished grandfather of the late Janice (2000), Eric and Tara Rosenberg, Christie and Patrick Cushing. Dear brother of Germaine St. Pierre of Windsor. Mr. Chamberlain was a member of the Carpenters Local #494 for 50 years and a member of OPSEU for 10 years. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. CHIASSON, Melvin Patrick - 65, New Waterford. It is with great sadness that we, his family, announce the peaceful passing of Melvin Patrick Chiasson at home on January 23, 2004. Born May 27, 1938, in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Leo "Lem" and Annie (Roach) Chiasson. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Noella (Deveaux); sons, Glen (Ronda), Antigonish; Robert (Pam), Pembroke, Ont.; daughter, Beth Lynn (Barry) Corbett, Victoria Mines; grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Chiasson, and Melissa Corbett. He is also survived by his brother, Simon (Joan), Big Harbour; sisters, Leona (Charlie) MacAulay, Eastern Passage; Wilfredine (Matt) Hawley and Mary Ann (Glenn) MacKenzie, both of New Waterford. He was an employee of DEVCO, where he worked for 39 years as a coal miner and later as a security guard until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and nephews. He was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners Club where he enjoyed playing Tarabish and shooting pool. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Smith Street, New Waterford, where visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 27. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, in Mount Carmel Church, New Waterford, Father Donald MacGillivary officiating, followed by burial in the parish cemetery and reception in Carmel Centre. Beloved husband to the late Helen (Howe), formerly of Port Dalhousie. Loving father of Bill, Toronto; Mike , Fort Lauderdale; Paul (Theresa), St. Catharines and Mary Edmunds (George) of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Proud grandfather of Jennifer (John), Laura (Greg), Michael, Kevin, Neil, Paul, Christine, William, George and Helen. Great grandfather of Ryan, Nicholas and Christian. Also survived by his sister Jean Berwald (Thomas) of New York, sisters-in-law Ann Carnegie of London England, Francis (Kyle) of St. Catharines and close friend Florence, Florida. Predeceased by grandson Peter and brother Georg e. Born in Port Perry on April 26, 1921, Peter found work in his teens at Lakeside Park where he met his future wife of 52 years, Helen (Howe). The first day of WWII he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Private, serving in Africa, Sicily, It aly, France, Belgiuum, Holland and Germany, achieving the rank of Captain by the end of the war. After the war Peter worked at numerous radio stations, CJKL Kirkland Lake, CHEX Peterborough and CKOY Ottawa. He then woked for years as Public Relations Manager for the Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball Club till its demise in 1967. Then working for Evans Mercury, Toronto as leasing Manager till his retirement to Fort Lauderdale in 1978. In retirement Peter had a passion for building radio controlled mode l ships, Grandfather clocks and specialty furniture. SIMARD (M. Benoit) Le 22 janvier 2004, est décédé à la Résidence Beaumanoir, entouré de l’amour de son épouse et ses enfants, à l’âge de 78 ans, M. Benoit Simard, fils de feu M. Joseph Simard et de feu dame Rosanna Potvin, demeurant au 314, Sauvé, Chicoutimi. La famille accueillera les parents et ami(e)s le vendredi 23 janvier 2004 de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 22 h, le samedi 24 janvier 2004 de 9 h à 10 h 45 à la Coopérative Funéraire de Chicoutimi 345, St-Armand, Chicoutimi (face à l’église Ste-Claire) Les funérailles auront lieu le samedi 24 janvier 2004 à 11 h à l’église Ste-Anne. Il sera incinéré au crématorium de la Coopérative Funéraire de Chicoutimi. L’inhumation aura lieu au cimetière Ste-Anne. Le défunt laisse dans le deuil, outre son épouse dame Madeleine Simard, ses fils: Gaétan Simard (Annie Brassard), Jean-Claude (Anne Couture) et Denis (Nancy Lépine); ses petits-enfants: Pierre-Yves et Alice, leur mère Catherine Tremblay, Francis et Geneviève. Il était le frère de: feu Jean-Joseph Simard (feu Rose-Alice Fournier), feu Jean-Baptiste (Marie Chouinard), feu Abel (feu Marie-Aimée Tremblay), feu Eliette (feu Joseph Godin), feu Lucien (Murielle Simard), feu Madeleine et feu Paul-Emile. Il laisse également sa belle-soeur Anna Simard (feu Ralph Giovenazo), ainsi que tous les autres membres des familles Simard, neveux et nièces, parents et ami(e)s. M. Benoit Simard était le cofondateur du dépanneur Ste-Geneviève de Chicoutimi-Nord. LEBOEUF PIERRE 1945-2004 À Montréal, le 18 janvier 2004 est décédé à l'âge de 58 ans monsieur Pierre Leboeuf, fils de feu Henri Leboeuf et de feue Marguerite Rheault demeurant à Montréal, autrefois de Drummondville. La crémation a eu lieu au Crématorium Yves Houle et Frère. La famille a accueilli parents et ami(e)s au Centre funéraire Yves Houle et Frère, 130, rue Lindsay, Drummondville. Les funérailles ont eu lieu le vendredi 23 janvier à 14 h en l'église Saint-Frédéric. M. Leboeuf laisse dans un profond chagrin ses soeurs Lorrayne (Yvan Tremblay), Claudette (Gilles Lebel) et Nicole de Drummondville; ainsi que son frère Paul de Roxboro; le regretteront aussi beaucoup ses neveux et nièces, sa filleule Carole Lupien, Patrick Lupien, Marie-Ève et Marc-André Leboeuf, Vicky Bourbeau-Tremblay; lui survivent également sa tante Anette Leboeuf de Québec et Armancia Leboeuf de Sainte-Sophie-de-Lévrard; ses cousins, cousines et autres parents et ami(e)s. (1913-2004) LANDRY OFFICE À l’Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus de Caraquet, le jeudi 22 janvier 2004, à l’âge de 90 ans, est décédé Léo Robert, époux de feu Lauza LeBreton, domicilié aux Résidences Mgr Chiasson de Shippagan, mais autrefois de Landry Office. Né le 12 décembre 1913, il était fils de feu Théodore Robert et de feu Séphrénie Paulin de Landry Office. Il laisse dans le deuil deux fils: Yvon de Landry Office et Ronald (Diane) de Carlisle, Ont.; trois soeurs: Joséphine, Elmire et Rita (Louis St-Pierre), toutes de Landry Office; trois frères: Martin (Ernestine) et Arthur (Exilda), tous deux de Landry Office et Alban (Gracia) de Pokemouche; deux petits-enfants: Bonnie et Mark, ainsi que six arrière-petits-enfants: Venessa, Derik, Stéphanie, Rachel, Chantale et Shaine, tous de Carlisle, Ontario. Une soeur, Derilda, ainsi que quatre frères: Azade, Domice, Ernest, à l’âge de 10 ans et Ernest, à l’âge de 12 ans, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 14h, le dimanche 25 janvier, à la Maison funéraire Robichaud, 3875, rue Principale à Tracadie-Sheila. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée Conception de Pokemouche, le lundi 26 janvier, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le dimanche 25 janvier, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le lundi 26 janvier, de 13h30 jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. HAYMAN, Thomas It is with joy and sadness that Thomas Hayman, 78, of Ottawa, Ontario went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2004, having passed away unexpectedly at his daughter's home in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin. Tom was born May 20, 1925 in Toronto, Ontario, son of the late Thomas and Wilhelmina Hayman. Tom is survived by his devoted wife Marion of 45 years, and was a very loving father to daughter Leila (Thomas) Ver Velde of Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, and to son Thomas (Kathryn) Hayman of Woodstock, GA., six grandchildren, Ethan, Marshall, Caitlin, Graham and Stuart Ver Velde, and Thomas C. Hayman. He is also survived by a brother Norman W. (Carol) Hayman of Toronto, a sister-in-law Gladys (Bill - deceased) Hayman, also of Toronto, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom served in WWII with the RCAF as bombardier and navigator, and graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He worked in Canada with the design team for the Avro Arrow supersonic jet fighter, and then in the United States with RCA on the design of communications satellites, NASA of the Saturn and Appollo Space Programs at the Chrysler Aerospace Division, and Boeing on the Supersonic Transport Project (SST). Tom retired from the Canadian Government as a Senior Project Manager with Industry Canada in Ottawa. Tom was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Ottawa where he faithfully served as an Elder until health problems arose. He was a member of the Ontario Association of Professional Engineers (APEO), the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). A memorial service will be held in Ottawa at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, on March 23, 2004 at 11 a.m.. Inurnment will take place in Toronto.
