ROBICHEAU, Donald J. "Moose" - 57, Barton, Digby Co., passed away January 20, 2004, in Digby General Hospital. Born in Doucetteville, he was a son of Helen and the late Harry Robicheau. Moose was an avid outdoorsman and a devoted Montreal Canadians fan. He was a building inspector for the Municipality of Digby. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Doucetteville. Surviving are his son, Harry, Plympton; sisters, Joan Samuels, Kansas City, Kan.; Louise Melanson, Lower Sackville; brothers, Lloyd Robicheau, North Range; Robert Robicheau, Weymouth; Rickey Robicheau, Doucetteville; several nieces and nephews. LEGERE, Dorothy Mary - 65, Sackville, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away suddenly at home January 20, 2004. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Mona and Bernard Beach. Dorothy was a long-time employee of the City of Dartmouth. Dorothy will be sadly missed as a mother, sister and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and helping hand that touched all of our lives. She had a wonderful sense of humor and fun second only to her enthusiasm for Hockey Night in Canada, especially when her team, the Montreal Canadians were playing. Once inside Dorothy's home you were soon gathered around the table and offered a cup of tea from an already brewing pot and discuss the latest news topics. She is survived by son, Derek, at home; brothers, Bernard (Lillian), Arnold (Marion), William, Timothy (Jean); sisters, Marie (Charlie) Otto, Joan (George) Awalt; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, John "Jack" and brother, Charles "Buddy". No visitation. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, Lower Sackville. LUCIER, Gareth Edward B.A., M.A. of Ed Born February 10, 1937 and passed away far too soon and unexpectedly on January 20, 2004 at Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus. Treasured love of Kathy. Stepdaughters Sue Beger, Kara Long and her husband Mark will miss the love filled teasing they shared over the years. Ethan, Tori, Taylor, Emily and Ashley will miss their Boogalie. Dear father of Jason and Jennifer. Gareth retired from St. Clair College and had many years to share his love of life and learning with colleagues and students as both an administrator and professor. DENIS MALO With deepest sorrow the family announces the sudden passing on Monday, January 19, 2004 of Denis Malo, aged 63. Left to cherish his beautiful memory, his beloved wife Dianne (nee Desautels); son Wayne and wife Janice; grandchildren, Meagan, Lindsey, and Ryan. He will also be greatly missed by his brothers, Leon (Juliette), Omer (Germaine), Gilbert (Mary), Luc (Marguerite), Etienne (Cecile), in-laws, Annette, Lily, Raymonde, Ubald (Noella), Richard (Debbie), Guy (Barbara), Leo-Paul, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Denis was predeceased by his daughter Kim; his parents, Emile and Gertrude; brother Andre; in-laws, Emile and Helene Desautels; and brothers-in-law, Camille, Leo Pold, and Aime. Denis will forever be remembered by all as a beautiful and loving person, for his quick welcoming smile, and his "joie de vivre". He lived to lend a helping hand, asking nothing in return. He will be mostly remembered for his carpentry skills that touched each and everyone of us. Denis loved people and people loved him. PRINCE, EDMOND - Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 21st, 2004; Edmond Prince of Maces Bay, NB, husband of the late Phyllis Mary Louise (Waycott) Prince. Born in St. Hubert, Quebec, he was the son of the late Eugene and Marguerite (Addison) Prince. Edmond served with the EMO Wardens of Lepreau for many years. Much loved and missed by all; Edmond is survived by his daughters, Brenda Prince, Tina (Harold) Andersen, Cindy (Glenn) Mawhinney, grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Nicholas and Taylor Marie, two brothers, Jean-Paul, and Maurice, many nieces and nephews. Edmond was predeceased by two children Linda and Daniel, one brother Willie and one sister Monique. Joseph (Joe) Richard 1919 - 2004 The death of Joseph (Joe) Richard, 84 years, of Elmwood Drive, Moncton occurred at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 following a short illness. Born in Leger Corner, now known as Dieppe, on June 5, 1919 he was the son of the late Amedee and Marie-Blanche (Hebert) Richard. Joe had attended Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas from 1940 to 1945 with the 14th Field Ambulance. After returning home in 1945, he resided in Moncton until 1948 where he was employed as a barber for a short time and as a carpenter. He moved to the USA in 1948 where he was a carpenter until his retirement in 1998 after which he returned to Moncton where he resided until his death. He will be sadly missed by many that loved and appreciated him, he was a very special brother and uncle, and is survived by his sisters, Emma, of Moncton, Sara (Gerry) Leger of Waltham, Mass., Florida (Edward) Saulnier of Moncton; one brother, Gerald (Lina) Richard also of Moncton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Marie-Blanche (Hebert) in 1969; his father Amedee in 1966; several sisters and brothers, Amedee who died as an infant; Lida who died at age 15; Helen who died at age 4; Emila (Hector) Cormier, Adele (Emery) Leger and Pierre (Melendee) Richard. By personal request there will not be any visiting hours at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame de la Paix Church,Vail Street on Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 am. In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her husband Clifford (Clovis) Hache in 2003; two brothers, Antoine Savoie and Alcide Meuiner. Richard was retired from Champion Spark Plug, was a longtime member of the Riverside Sportmen's Club and enjoyed fishing. Daughter of Philippe and Malvina (née Taillon) Renaud both predeceased). Born February 18, 1913 in Huberdeau, Québec she married Roméo Lafleur on July 1st, 1940 who predeceased her in 1972. Loving mother of Laurianne (John) of Sudbury. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Albert (late Agnès Deschamps), Lucien (late Colombe Lanthier), René (Aline of Toronto), Adrien (late Flora-Belle McKenzie), Dorina (late Armand Landry), Yvonne (late George Deschamps) and Marie-Reine (late Michael Marshall). Mrs. Lafleur was active in several activities at the St. Jean-de-Brébeuf Parish and she most enjoyed bowling. She was also a member of the church choir. Annette was very devoted to "Frère St-André de L'Oratoire St-Joseph" of Montreal and to "Ste-Thérèse de l'Enfant Jésus". POWELL, William John "Jack" In loving memory of William John "Jack" Powell in his 95th year of The Walford residence in Sudbury, On who passed away Friday morning, January 9th, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Dear son of Russell and Elizabeth MacDonald both predeceased. He was born in Webbwood, On June 19, 1909 and moved to Sudbury as a young boy. He worked for Inco in Saskatchewan from 1940 to 1950. He was the Clerk Treasurer of The Town of Copper Cliff prior to amalgamation and retired from the same in 1973. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Lifetime member of Walden Seniors and he curled for many years with the seniors. He was a member of long standing at Knox presbyterian Church and served on their finance committee. He had deep faith and inspired many. His family and friends appreciated his wit and keeness of mind. He was patient, understanding, generous and kind. He was depended upon for words of support and wisdom. He brought joy and laughter to those who shared his life. He took great pride in his independence and enjoyed his extended family and being affectionately known as G G. He was always interested in learning and the progress the children accomplished in their studies. Predeceased by his wife Irene (Young) Powell 1995, Daughter Carole Ann Powell 1993, Brother Clarence Powell 1977, Sisters Rita Powell 1934 and Agnes Arthurs 1968, Brothers in Law Ian Young and Percy Tomlinson. Beloved wife of Gene Kelly and loving mother of Patrick Kelly (friend Laura) of Timmins. Daughter of Alexandrine Melançon of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec and the late Leo Melançon. Sister of Claude Melançon (wife Debbie) of Virginiatown, Ontario and Huguette Corriveau (husband Norm) of Brantford, Ontario. Dear sister in-law of Mike Kelly (wife Bernadette), Doris Morrissette (husband Leo), Doreen Blais (husband Marcel), Norm Kelly (wife Agathe), Shirley Picard (husband Paul), Lilly Labelle (husband Paul), Marlene Godin (husband Goerges), Joyce Larose (husband Richard), Gail Venneri (husband Sergio), Pat Donovan (husband Dave), and Colleen Franq (husband Mike). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Nicole was born on March 26, 1945 in Fugerville, Québec and moved to Timmins in 1968. She married her husband Gene on August 12, 1972 from St-Dominique Church in Timmins. Nicole also worked as a teacher for 33 years with the Timmins Separate School Board. LACROIX, Joan Kathleen LACROIX, Joan Kathleen - Born in Ellershouse, Hants Co., June 14, 1929, to Seymour and Margaret (Ross) Dunbar, she resided in Helmsley Gate, Halifax for the last few years. She formerly lived on Elm Street, for many years, in the house built by her uncle Jim and aunt Kay Whalen. She passed away Sunday, January 18, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, at the age of 74. Joan attended the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing, graduating September 29, 1950. From 1952 - 1954 she nursed at the Ottawa Civic in Ottawa, Ont. and in 1954 she returned to the Halifax Infirmary to continue her career. She was a night nursing supervisor for many years and retired from nursing in 1978. She is survived by her loving husband, Rheal George Lacroix; daughters, Suzanne Lacroix, Halifax; Corinne Slade, Halifax; Yvonne Praest, Halifax; sons, Rene Lacroix, Halifax; Andre Lacroix, West Chezzetcook; Maurice Lacroix, Halifax; Rheal Lacroix, Summerside, P.E.I.; sisters, twin, June Miller, Maitland; Helen McClare, Hillsvale; 16 grandchildren. She was predeceased by parents, Seymour and Margaret Dunbar; sisters, Gwendolyn Dunbar (infant), Mary Fletcher; brothers, Douglas Dunbar (infant), Grant Dunbar; grandchild, Sidney Gallant. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 2 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, with a reception for the family at the family home to follow. The family would like to thank Dr. Dennis Bowie and Dr. Lynn Crosby at this time, for the many years of kind and wonderful care Joan received from them.
