DUBEAU, Audrey Lois (nee Benson) passed away in hospital on January 19, 2004. Born in Hazelton, BC on May 8, 1929, she was our dear mother, grandmother and friend to many. Predeceased by her brother Robert Jackson, she will be sadly missed by her sister Gloria Benson (Eiko); sons, Ben and James Dubeau; daughters, Lauren Broadway (Bob) and Yvonne (Danny); as well as grandchildren, Lindsay, Matthew and Mallory, and Eric, Bennie, Marie and Daniel. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 24th from 2 - 3:30 pm at Domenico's Restaurant, 5625 East Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC. HACHE, LAURA MARY The death of Laura Mary Hache of Minto, NB, occurred Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Queen's North Health Complex. Born in St. Louis, Kent Co., NB, she was the daughter of the late Cyrille and Henriette (Robichaud) Meuiner. Survived by four sons, Ovila (Silvia) of Salmon Creek, NB, Anthony (Tony) (Jeanette), Clifford (Alvina) and Roland (Catherine) all of Saint John, NB; four daughters Rita Thebeau (Vital) of Nackawic, NB, Doris Hoyt of Saint John, NB, Stella Mannella (Brian) and Linda LaBrie (Paul) both of Minto, NB; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her husband Clifford (Clovis) Hache in 2003; two brothers, Antoine Savoie and Alcide Meuiner. She married her husband Gene on August 12, 1972 from St-Dominique Church in Timmins. Nicole also worked as a teacher for 33 years with the Timmins Separate School Board. LACROIX, Joan Kathleen LACROIX, Joan Kathleen - Born in Ellershouse, Hants Co., June 14, 1929, to Seymour and Margaret (Ross) Dunbar, she resided in Helmsley Gate, Halifax for the last few years. She formerly lived on Elm Street, for many years, in the house built by her uncle Jim and aunt Kay Whalen. She passed away Sunday, January 18, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII, at the age of 74. Joan attended the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing, graduating September 29, 1950. From 1952 - 1954 she nursed at the Ottawa Civic in Ottawa, Ont. and in 1954 she returned to the Halifax Infirmary to continue her career. She was a night nursing supervisor for many years and retired from nursing in 1978. She is survived by her loving husband, Rheal George Lacroix; daughters, Suzanne Lacroix, Halifax; Corinne Slade, Halifax; Yvonne Praest, Halifax; sons, Rene Lacroix, Halifax; Andre Lacroix, West Chezzetcook; Maurice Lacroix, Halifax; Rheal Lacroix, Summerside, P.E.I.; sisters, twin, June Miller, Maitland; Helen McClare, Hillsvale; 16 grandchildren. She was predeceased by parents, Seymour and Margaret Dunbar; sisters, Gwendolyn Dunbar (infant), Mary Fletcher; brothers, Douglas Dunbar (infant), Grant Dunbar; grandchild, Sidney Gallant. Cremation has taken place. Loretta LeBlanc The death of Loretta LeBlanc of Port Elgin, age 75, occurred suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, January 20, 2004. Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Dina (Burke) LeBlanc. She worked at the Mayfair Theater for over 30 years and was employed with Canada Post out of the Port Elgin Branch for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her sister Geraldine (Mel) LeBlanc of Amherst; her nephew Larry LeBlanc; and niece Susan (Gordon) Bailey. She was predeceased by an infant brother Joseph. Joseph (Joe) Richard 1919 - 2004 The death of Joseph (Joe) Richard, 84 years, of Elmwood Drive, Moncton occurred at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 following a short illness. Born in Leger Corner, now known as Dieppe, on June 5, 1919 he was the son of the late Amedee and Marie-Blanche (Hebert) Richard. Joe had attended Notre Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas from 1940 to 1945 with the 14th Field Ambulance. After returning home in 1945, he resided in Moncton until 1948 where he was employed as a barber for a short time and as a carpenter. He moved to the USA in 1948 where he was a carpenter until his retirement in 1998 after which he returned to Moncton where he resided until his death. He will be sadly missed by many that loved and appreciated him, he was a very special brother and uncle, and is survived by his sisters, Emma, of Moncton, Sara (Gerry) Leger of Waltham, Mass., Florida (Edward) Saulnier of Moncton; one brother, Gerald (Lina) Richard also of Moncton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Marie-Blanche (Hebert) in 1969; his father Amedee in 1966; several sisters and brothers, Amedee who died as an infant; Lida who died at age 15; Helen who died at age 4; Emila (Hector) Cormier, Adele (Emery) Leger and Pierre (Melendee) Richard. GLADYS MARGARET SEARLE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Gladys Margaret (Marge) Searle, on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004 at the age of 80. She left us very suddenly and quietly. She was born Aug. 7, 1923. Marge is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Stanley) Blasky and Patricia (George) Wicek; brothers, Ron (Lillian) Ayris and Alan (Larraine) Ayris; and sister, Violet Fry. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Lori (Brent) Farrow, Chris (Rebecca) Blasky, Tammy (Colin) Colliou, Tracy (Gary) Jensen, Sherry (Kevin) Randall, David Searle, and Stephan (Stacey) Wicek; and great-grandchildren, James Farrow, Jerald Eyford, Nicholas Eyford, and Tyler Randall. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Bert, on Oct. 3, 2003; son, Colin in August, 1991; and parents, Charles and Elisabeth Ayris. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the compassionate staff at Riverside Health Care Hospital in Fort Frances. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. ESTHER JOHANNA SANDER It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Esther Johanna Sander on Jan. 22, 2004 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ont. Esther was born in Shenston, Ont. on Sept. 8, 1931, the youngest daughter of Victor and Anna Sander. She attended Shenston #1 School, as did her brothers and sisters. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, which was almost across the road from where she was born. Esther took over as chief housekeeper at the age of 20 when her mother died. She was a very capable worker. She enjoyed children very much and was a frequent baby-sitter for many area families. Esther enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go for rides in the countryside. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and attended celebrations as often as she could. She was predeceased by her mother, Anna; father, Victor; sister, Carrie; and brother, Alvin. Left to mourn her passing are brother, Alf and wife, Ruth, of Winnipeg, Man.; brother, Carl and wife, Elsie, of Atikokan, Ont.; sister, Ruth Wall of Brampton, Ont.; and Aunt Mary Anderson of Rainy River, Ont. She also is survived by several cousins, nephews and nieces, and a host of friends. Special thanks is due to the many health care givers of both the Rainy River Health Centre and Emo Health Centre, to the Rainy River District Palliative Care Group, to the residents of Morley Meadowside Manor in Stratton, to her community, and to Beth, Dennis, Paul, Jodie, Laurie, and Mark Brown for their loving care and friendship. A celebration of her life was held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at the Stratton Millennium Hall in Stratton, Ont., with interment at a later date at Chapple Cemetery in Barwick, Ont.
