LADEROUTE, Edna, May (nee Andress) In loving memory of Edna (nee Andress) Laderoute, 68 years of Lively, who passed away Thursday morning, January 1, 2004 at her residence. Edna had worked at Eatons for many years retiring in 1994. She was always a good neighbour and quick to help others. She had been a faithful volunteer at the Northeastern Regional Cancer Center. An avid reader, she was a familiar face at the Lively library. In younger years, she spent many happy summers at the family cottage on Lake Penage. Edna was a welcoming host to family and friends at her home where she was happiest. A great friend and advocate to animals, she will be especially missed by her canine buddy Buster. Edna was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Albert Laderoute of Lively. Loving mother of Michael Laderoute (wife Susan) of Markham, Tim Laderoute of Sudbury and Kelly Laderoute of Toronto. ALLAN EMILE RAGOT Peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2004, Allan Emile Ragot passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital with his wife and best friend Pat at his side. He was predeceased by his father Benoit in February 1981. Allan was born February 28, 1945 and always lived life to the fullest doing all the things he wanted to do, in his own memorable way. He was also intent on doing everything he did to the best of his ability from his 35 years at the CNR to his "hobby" of selling cars after his retirement for the companionship of friends and the enjoyment of the next big deal. Allan was generous to all those he knew and cared about and was always ready to offer his home to celebrate any occasion, and any occasion was a cause for celebration. Over the years Allan came to realize what was truly important and made huge efforts to enjoy his new found awareness of what those things were and those efforts will always be remembered by those who's lives were touched. In addition to his wife Pat, Allan is survived by his mother Rosalie (Didi) Ragot; daughter Alanna Ragot (Glen Sereacki); grandchildren, Erin Carlson, Zenon and Dennis Ragot-Sereacki; brother Albert; sisters, Lillian Pelletier (Marcel) and Lucille Giesbrecht (Frank) and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Pat would also like to thank his cousins, Pat, Rob and Andrew Chabidon and long time friend Jim Skinner for not only enabling Allan to enjoy his last hunting trip but making it his best trip ever, also Ron and Monica Gross and Yvonne Peters who with their love and support made a difficult journey easier to bear. The family would also like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital especially Carol Remple and the entire Palliative care staff ward for their kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8 at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald St. A private interment will follow at a later date at the St. Norbert Cemetery. OGILVIE, Hilda M. (Landon) (1909 - 2004) It is with deep sorrow that the family of Hilda Ogilvie reports Hilda's peaceful passing on January 3, 2004 at her home at Unitarian House, in Ottawa, accompanied by many of her closest relatives and attended by a wonderful staff. Hilda was a life-long Ottawa resident, growing up on Gilmour Avenue, with her parents Horace E. and Annie (Fowler) Landon. She was the last of her generation of Landons, being predeceased by her brother Horace and sisters, Coy, Annetta, and Kaye, and in their infancies, Douglas and Irma. Hilda attended Lisgar Collegiate and Queen's University, where she developed continuing friendships. An Ottawa-based Queen's Bridge Club continued for over 50 years and a number of her closest friends (Mona McIninch, Olive Hawkins) joined her at Unitarian House in their later years. Shirley George Ogilvie's frequent visits to Queen's on his Harley highlighted their courtship and the couple was married in 1939. Sons Robert D. and John L. were raised on Powell Avenue and later in Britannia. Her beloved husband Shirley died in 1964. After raising her children and following husband Shirley's death, Hilda became Dean of Women at Kemptville Agricultural College. "Mrs. O" retired to an apartment in Bromely Square, Carling Avenue, and subsequently to Unitarian House. Hilda is survived by Robert and Margaret (Barnes) Ogilvie (retired Professors from Brock University) of Barry's Bay, ON, and their children Shirley-Anne (and Ric Walker and their children Jason, James and Kristin) of Port Colbourne, Jennifer (and Kevin Kubarych) of Paris, France, and Jonathan of Hamilton. John and Sharon (Harbord) Ogilvie reside in Sebringville, ON where John owns and operates Hoffmyer's Planing Mill with his son Reginald (Ruth-Ann Hokansson). Their daughter Erica Lazarakos lives in Bright's Grove, ON, with husband George and their children Samuel and Zoe. Hilda is resting at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd. at Roosevelt on Tuesday from 1:30 until time of service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. Service to be conducted by Rev. Grandfather of Tegan, Colin, Lamont and Lelaan. Jerry will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many family and friends. A private service has taken place.
