RIDGLEY, GEORGE CLAYTON Mr. George Clayton Ridgley, of 14 Maxwell Dr. Sussex, NB, passed away at his residence, on January 1, 2004 at the age of 80. George was born in Halifax, NS on February 2, 1923, the son of the late Cpt. George and Agnes Ridgley. George is survived by his beloved wife Elsie Victoria (Boutlier), two daughters Carlyn Ridgley of Moncton, Noreen Fox and her husband Ondon of Fredericton, two sons George and his wife Donna of New River Beach, Tom and his Rosemarie of Rothesay, two sisters, Hazel Jordan and Melvina Gauvin, seven grandchildren, Jacob, Mandi (Philip), Dawn, Kimberly, Kelly, Jonathan and George, five great grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Lewis, Alex Ridgley, Isabella and Ava Block, as well as several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his son, David who passed away in 1974. George served over seas during WWII from 1940 to 1945 as an able seaman RCNVR. He was an electrical contractor and owned and operated Brunswick Electric. He was a member of the New Brunswick Lodge # 22 F&AM and a member of the Sussex Shrine Club. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-4331176). At George's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. The interment will take place at Sunnybank Cemetery, Fredericton in the spring. SEGUIN, Leon William Thomas (Leo) July 28th, 1919 - December 15th, 2003 Leo, after a courageous battle, with his family by his side, on Monday, December 15, 2003, at the QHC Trenton Memorial Hospital, in his 85th year. For 63 years, Leo was the beloved husband of Betty (nee Elizabeth Woodside). Loving father of Penny Candy, Jane Poirier and her husband Emile, Jane Rohr and her husband Russell, the late Bill Seguin and the late Diane Glynn and surviving husband Brian. RYAN, Catherine Teresa (Comerford) Peacefully, on New Years Day at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village in St. Catharines, in her 91st year. Teresa was born in Eganville in 1913, and was the daughter of the late Patrick Comerford and Catherine Coyne. She grew up in Raglan Township and spent most of her life in Killaloe. In 1940 she married Harold Ryan who predeceased her in 1974. She is surived by her children Denise Kelly, of St. Catharines, Timothy (Ted) Ryan of Winnipeg, Ruth Lowden of Winnipeg, Corinne Grundy of St. Catharines, Teresa (Terry) Small of Ottawa, Harold (Harley) Ryan of London and Mark Ryan of Schreiber. She was predeceased by an infant son Neil who died in 1945 and her son-in-law Glenn Small. She leaves 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her surviving sisters are Sister Mary Comerford of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Pembroke, Bernadette O'Reilly of Pembroke, Carmel Kealey of Ottawa, Frances Hennessey Cookson of Ottawa and one brother, Patrick Comerford of Killaloe. Her sisters Cecelia Agnew, Anna Wales and Claire Power predeceased her. Teresa taught school in Centreview, Hagarty Township, Brudenell, Wilno, Barry's Bay and Killaloe. Many of these years were spent in one room schools and her many students will remember her as the teacher who took time to care and who acted in their best interest. Family and teaching was her life and she represented her generation's view, showing her ability to stand strong in hard times and encouraging others to value learning, especially reading. She will not be forgotten. MATHEWSON, Donald Earl, May 12, 1916 - December 26, 2003 On December 26, Dad passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 87. The entire family was fortunate to spend their Christmas with Dad at his bedside. He was predeceased by his grandson, Ric hard in 1995 and his parents, Gilbert and Jessie, brothers David, Bruce, Gilbert, and sisters Margaret Dean, Jessie McFadden and Edna Roberts. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marcella. He leaves to mourn his son Keith (Arlene), daughte rs, Donna Cadieux (Raymond) and Barbara Clendenan (Jeffrey). His loving grandchildren, Marc Cadieux (Monica), Andrew Mathewson, Laura and Lindsay Clendenan, great grandson Luc and brother Keith (Ada) and sisters, Jean Starbuck (Howard), Betty Blong ( Art) and Mary Goode (Reg), many nieces, nephews and a number of very special friends. Dad was born in Thorold, Ontario, May 12, 1916. In 1935 Dad started to work for The English Electric Company in St. Catharines, Ontario. With the advent of World Wa r II, he joined the R.C.A.F. After serving in the air force, Dad returned to English Electric and was responsible for setting up a new production line of distribution transformers for the anticipated post war demand. He was promoted to supervisor of the power transformer division. In 1946 Dad left English Electric and with two colleagues founded, Pioneer Electric Ltd. in Winnipeg to build transformers for the electrification program of the prairies. The Company successfully expanded and Dad held the position, Vice President of Manufacturing. He also was a member of the board of Directors of FPE-Pioneer Electric until his retirement in June of 1968. During his retirement, he was a Board Member of the Manitoba Labour Board, Manitoba Utilities Commission and Manitoba Securities Commission. Dad also served as a board member of UMA Engineering Group. Following a short lived retirement, he founded Carte Electric Ltd. in 1973 which built distribution and small power transformers for the utili ties market. Dad permanently retired form Carte Electric in 1977 and remained on their Board of Directors until 1980. Throughout his life, Dad was an active member of the community, involved in the Winnipeg Kinsmen, K-40's and Fort Garry Rotary Club and serving on various boards such as the Victoria General Hospital and the Wildwood Club. With his close friend Rod MacKenzie, Dad was involved in various commercial ventures including the building of the Montcalm Motor Hotel. Dad's biggest joy in l ife was his family and most recently to see his grandchildren grow and mature. A recent highlight was to see the birth of his great grandson, Luc. Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass was held on Saturday, January 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. J ohn Brebeuf Parish, 1707 John Brebeuf Place in Winnipeg, MB. COYLE, MURIEL MARY - Passed away Dec 31st, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bouctouche NB on March 14th, 1947, She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nelida (Girourd) Coyle. Muriel is survived by two sons, Pat, and Gerald (Marie), one daughter Debbie (Mitch); three brothers, Gerald (Linda) Saulnier, Ozzie Saulnier and Andre (Noella) Saulnier, three sisters, Louise (Emile) Arseneault, Carmella Henderson and Theresa (Joe) Daigle, four grandchildren, Rene, PJ, Amanda and Bradley and several nieces and nephews. Six sister-in-laws, Sister Theresa, Sister Margaret, Shirley, Pauline, Dorothy and Geraldine. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 1975.
