Much loved wife of Robert D. Hutchinson and sister of Nancy Hooper of Ottawa. Devoted mother of Peter Wilkins of Toronto; of Dr. Mark and Debbie Wilkins of Mattawa; and of Dr. David and Dr. Ruth Wilkins of Ottawa; and grandmother of six very satisfactory grandchildren. She was step-mother to David and Louise Hutchinson and to Richard and Julia Hutchinson, and ten step-grandchildren of Sydney, Australia. Also step-mother to Patty and John Scrivens of Ottawa and step-grandmother to their 4 children; and to Margot and Bud Jorgenson of Alliston, Ontario. There will be no visitation, but a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 125 Mackay Street in New Edinburgh. 1946-2003 Formerly of Ottawa (Glebe Collegiate and Carleton University) David passed away peacefully in hospital in Eugene, Oregon on Dec. 3, 2003 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Kacey, daughter Anna and son-in-law Victor. Also survived by his parents Rev. Donald Joyce and Georgina Joyce of Vineland, ON (formerly of Ottawa), and his brothers Peter (Belleville), Michael (Ottawa) and Paul (Aurora). Dave's joie de vivre and wonderful sense of humour will be greatly missed by his family and wide circle of friends. A memorial service will be held in Eugene on Dec. 19 at the Lane Community College. After a tough two week battle with cancer Judy has sailed away from us on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at the age of 55. She died peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus. She leaves behind her husband, Bob Uline, her mother, Aletha (Pound) Martinell, her two boys, Matthew and Andrew MacDonald, her sister, Janet (Smith) McCallum, and her niece Marin McCallum. All the people she has touched over the years, especially the children and parents at the Glebe Co-operative Nursery School, will dearly miss her. Working with children was her reason for being. Judy had such a zeal for living that her passing will leave a void in so many lives. Heartfelt thanks go to the doctors and nurses from the Gynecologic Oncology Department of the Ottawa General who were so kind and supportive in Judy's last days. A memorial service will be held in Charlottetown at a later date. For family and friends in the Ottawa area, a celebratory gathering will be organized for the spring to coincide with boating season. Judy will keep teaching, sailing, skating and cycling in our hearts forever. (nee Hunt) Peacefully, at the Empress Wellness and Retirement Home, in Kanata on Wednesday, December 10th, 2003 in her 84th year. Jeanne was born in Nottingham, England, immigrated to Canada in 1951 with her devoted husband of 54 years, James Dimitrios Georgiles. In 1952 she assumed a position with the Department of National Defence, eventually moving to the National Defence Research Board and ultimately to the Department of External Affairs. She retired in 1979, having completed 28 years of service for Canada plus two years with the U.K. government. Predeceased by her brother Arthur John Hunt. Lovingly remembered by her sisters-in- law Eirene (the late Joseph Vickers), Elena (David Conn) and Eugenia (Maurice Simmons). Dear aunt of Patricia, Jane-Rose and Emily. Jeanne leaves a loving family of nieces and nephews in Britain, Australia, Israel and the U.S.A. She was respected by her colleagues, neighbours and by members of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa. PHN Massey to her family, in her 91st year, peacefully, December 11, 2003. Daughter of the late Inez and Frank Graff of Cochrane, Ontario. She will be deeply missed by her son Brian (Dee); grandchildren Laura (Tony), Gordon (Tara) and great-grandchildren Joel, Genevieve, Emma, Julia and baby Jack. Survived by her sister and a life long companion, Jean Frances Murphy, close cousin Nona Hodge, sister-in-law Alexina Graff and nieces Valerie Butterfield and Linda Graff Kapuscinski. She is predeceased by her brother Ray. She arrived in Ottawa the winter of 1940 together with her mother, sister and four year old son as well as a St. Michael's Hospital nursing diploma under her arm. With determination and wit she balanced her parenting responsibilities and nursing career perfectly and found time to add a Public Health certificate to her credentials. A more loyal friend could not be found. Massey was a loving and steadying influence in our lives. Because of her, we were safer and life was abundant. She was and will remain our guiding star. SHELLEY BLONDIN (nee BOUTANG) It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Shelley on December 1, 2003 in Hawksbury, ON. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 31 years, Marcel and her daughters, Micheline (Jeff) and Tina. Shelley was born and raised in Vassar, MB. After marrying, Shelley relocated many times, finally settling in the L'Original area of eastern Ontario. Shelley's main focus in life was her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She gained much joy from baking, country music, pets and spending time in the outdoors. Shelley was predeceased by her parents, George and Jeanne Boutang and her father-in-law Lucien Blondin. Funeral services were held in L'Original on Friday, December 5. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow this sumêmer in her home town of Vassar, MB. PATRICIA (PAT) GERVAIS (nee THOMPSON) 1946-2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Gervais, loving wife of Rene, of Elie, MB on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital, aged 57. Besides her husband, also left to lovingly remember Pat is her daughter Sandra Staples (Chub); son Bob (Ingrid) and his children, Tiffany, Jennie, Marc and their mother Ann; honorary grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria and Eva; sisters, Kathy Thompson (Derek) and Cindy Ediger (Alan), as well as numerous nephews, nieces and brothers and sisters-in-law. Beloved daughter of the late Helen Archambault and William Meyer of Montreal. She was predeceased by her two dear brothers Andrew and Paul. Beloved Aunt of William (Kathleen) of Burlington and Doris (John Whalen) of Richmond, B.C. Grace was the longtime personal assistant to Jean Picard, President of Montreal Textiles, a career that gave her tremendous pride and joy. Grace travelled the world over and was the most interesting, positive, generous and eloquent lady. Private funeral arrangements have been made and burial will take place later in Montreal. July 3, 1930 - December 10, 2003. John Michael McGurrin passed away peacefully in White Rock, BC on December 10, 2003 surrounded by his family after a short fight with cancer. He will be missed by his wife of forty-eight years, Edna, daughters Johanne (Don), Sherry (Wayne), Christine (James) and son Norman. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Donald (Huguette) and sisters Doreen, Rita (Alex), Suzanne, Mary and Joyce in Montreal, and sisters-in-law Irene (Stan) and Eve and brother-in-law Raymond (Susan) in Vancouver. From 1951 to 1990 John worked for Continental Can in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. John was passionate about life and will be remembered for his generosity, honesty and strength of character which he demonstrated to the end. The family would like to thank all the family and friends who were so supportive during John's short illness. A private gathering will be held in White Rock and a private memorial will be held in Montreal at a later date.

LEONARD MILTON BINGHAM Leonard Milton Bingham, 53, of 91 Maple Cr., Atikokan, Ont., passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 after a short but valiant battle with lung cancer. Leonard was born Oct. 12, 1950, living in Upsala, Ont. until moving to Atikokan with his parents in 1961. He met his future wife, Donna Bryck there, and they were married March 27, 1971. Then came the job of raising three children. He worked at the Steep Rock Iron Mine until its closing in 1979. He then joined the Operating Engineer’s Union and worked on many pipeline jobs in many towns. He also worked on many construction projects as a heavy equipment operator. He presently was employed at Lac Des Illes mine and was a member of USW Local #9422. Leonard’s pride and joy was their new home he was in the middle of building on his own private lake. Many great memories were made there with all his family and friends. He lived every day to the fullest and was always the life of the party. As long as he made someone laugh, it was a good day. He had a unique laugh and you always knew when he was in a room, as it always preceded him. Many people remember him and his brother as the boys with the hottest and fastest cars in the ’60s, and both were always ready to prove it as soon as the police turned the corner. He will be sadly missed by so many people, who all have their own memories and a story to tell about “Bingo.” Surviving are Leonard’s parents, Milo and Birdena Bingham of Atikokan, Ont.; and his wife, Donna, and their children, Bobbi-Jo of Fort Frances, Ont., Jaret (Angela) of Atikokan, Ont., and Ian of Calgary, Alta. The joy of his life for the last six years was his grandson, Dustyn, who loved to help his grampa shovel and rake at the cabin. The whole family was overjoyed when Leonard’s new grandson, Alexander Leonard Bingham, was born two days before he passed away and whom he got to hold and cuddle. He also is survived by his only brother, Wayne (Janice), their son, Mark (Nicole), and their granddaughter, Marni. Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Riverview United Church, 169 Pine Cr., Atikokan, Ont.

ROULEAU, Georges A. 1922 - 2003 À Montréal, le 11 décembre 2003, à l’âge de 81 ans, est décédé le docteur Georges A. Rouleau, fils du docteur J. Albert Rouleau et de Marie-Thérèse Éthier. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Monique Boulard, son fils Raymond (Yamilet Rivero Lorenzo), sa fille Isabelle (Yanick Villedieu), sa soeur Lucille Audette, son frère Dr Yvan Rouleau (Marie Mantha) et sa belle-soeur Yolande Rouillard. Pendant près de 30 ans, il pratiqua la médecine du travail, au sein de l’Hydro-Québec où il dirigea les services de santé pour les employés de l’exploitation et de la construction. Il a été le premier médecin canadien-français à occuper un poste de médecin permanent dans une entreprise québecoise. RUSHDY, Antoine K. C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse que notre famille doit annoncer le décès de notre très cher père, mari, ami et mentor, survenu le 10 décembre 2003. Jamais moralisateur, il nous guidait par l’exemple, il nous a appris à nous intéresser aux autres, la justice sociale, la tolérance et le concept de donner. Il nous a appris à aimer de tout son coeur, et cela sans rien attendre en retour; à honorer l’amitié; à toujours prendre les chemins les plus convoités, même quand cela semblait difficile; à toujours donner le meilleur de soi et à ne jamais abandonner. Il a fait grandir en nous le goût d’apprendre, le goût du savoir. Il savait faire ressortir le meilleur en chaque personne, il ne jugeait jamais et choisissait plutôt d’écouter et de comprendre. Ses encouragements constants nous ont donné la confiance et la force de relever les défis. Il a touché le coeur de plusieurs et il manquera à tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître.
