RENAUD, Kathleen M. "Kay" 81 years, on October 26, 2003, at Richmond Terrace, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Beloved wife and best friend for over 60 years to F.M. "Fritz" Renaud. Loving mother to James and wife Carolyn. Will be missed by her grandsons Jamie and wife Cindy, Chad and wife Kary. Dear great grandmother to Colton, Drew, and Carly. Predeceased by her parents Frank (1958) and Lyma (1992) Mailloux. Kay was a person of many talents and hobbies with having done ceramics, knitting, and crocheting in her earlier years but her true focus and love in her life was caring for her family. LEONARD, ROLLAND ELMER Rolland Elmer Leonard of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Sunday, October 26, 2003, at the age of 84. Rolland is survived by three sons, Mayor Randy Leonard and his wife Eleanor of Woodstock, NB; Jack Leonard and his wife Margaret of Franktown, ON; Brian Leonard and his wife Gloria of Almonte, ON; one daughter, Lorna Everett and her husband Kenneth of Windsor, NS; he is also survived by two brothers, Carl Leonard and Ralph Leonard; four sisters, Emma Bradley; Ruth Calder, Eola Bull and Dora Jellison; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Rolland served in the Carleton York Regiment, (1939-1945). He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Leonard; his parents, George and Annie Leonard; one granddaughter, Heather Leonard; two brothers, Norton Leonard and Lloyd Leonard; two sisters, Jean Boles and Mable Toal. GERMAINE ANN DELORME (nee GOBEIL) It is with deep sadness that her family announces that Germaine Ann Delorme passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness on October 25, 2003 at the age of 78 years, in the St. Boniface Hospital. Germaine will be sadly missed by her son Ted (Jerrie); grandchildren, Sheldon (Amanda), Tamara (Bern), Kristy (Mike), Travis, Meghan and Krista; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jaeden, Bailey and Jesse; brothers and sisters, Joey (Chris) of B.C., Bob (Norma), Charlie (June) of B.C., Joan and David (Shirley); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Marius; parents, Mary and Ed Gobeil; Fred Gobeil, Mervin Gobeil, Annette Gobeil and Nelson Fournier. She enjoyed her extensive travelling to Germany and throughout Canada with her husband and son Ted; while Marius was in the Forces. Peacefully and gently at his home on Saturday, October 25, 2003. Loving husband and cherished friend of Dorothy. Proud and loving father of Steve and Laura, a pride which only increased with the addition of Steve's wife Kristine, their son David, and Laura's husband Pierre. He will be dearly missed by his family. Son of Murdina Johnson of Winnipeg and the late Paul Johnson. Rod will be fondly remembered by his sisters Marilyn (Thom) of Winnipeg, Deanna (John) of Buffalo, and by his little brother Don (Myra) of Ottawa. He will also be in the thoughts and prayers of Leonard and Gerd Paul, Ralph and Leah, Nancy and Ed, and all of Rod's and Dorothy's nieces and nephews. When they married in 1969, this Winnipeg boy dreamed of travelling the world with his young bride. He began to realize this dream when he joined the Department of External Affairs (now DFAIT) in 1970. Together they were posted in Brussels, Belgium, Havana, Cuba, Bridgetown, Barbados, and Islamabad, Pakistan. In addition to two wonderful children, they enriched their lives with many dear friends the world over. Always the diplomat, Rod's welcoming smile, sense of humour, and infectious laugh could win over any room. FOSTER, RONALD JESS 1919-2003 Passed away peacefully on October 13, 2003 at St. Mary's of the Lake, in his 85th year. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Stephen (Lynn), daughter Susan Wheatland, sons Alan Mutch (Barbara) and Graham Mutch (Fran), grandchildren Sean, Aleisha, Erin, Louise, Simon, Jonathan, and Emily, great grandchildren Ben, Megan, Declan and Jaiden, and his devoted dog Misty. Born in Fredericton, N.B., he enlisted September 3, 1939 and served as Sergeant in the 90th Battery, 1st Anti Tank-Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery in WW II. He was wounded twice, mentioned in dispatches and decorated by Field Marshall Montgomery. Following the war he moved to Kingston where he worked as Foreman in Polymer at DuPont. He enjoyed many years of community service including: 47 years with the Lions Club of Kingston where he was Past President and Life Member, Ron was honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow by Lions International Foundation for "dedicated humanitarian services." He was a member of the Cataraqui Masonic Lodge 92; a worthy Noble of the Kingston and District Shrine Club; and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 560. Following retirement, winters were spent at Lake Seminole Estates, Florida where Ron enjoyed 27 years as a Snowbird. He will be fondly remembered for his Christmas dinners, pancakes breakfasts, Super Bowl parties and many other volunteer activities. Interment was held at Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston, Ontario.

James Winston Bulmer 1939 - 2003 James Winston Bulmer of Moncton, NB and Lower Sackville, NS passed away at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax on Thursday, October 23, 2003 after a heroic battle with AML at the age of 64 years. Born in Moncton, NB on October 3, 1939 he was the son of the late George and Carrie (Mullin) Bulmer. Jim served with The Canadian Guards Regiment from 1957-1960 in Pettawawa and Germany, was employed with Canadian Airlines and retired after 32 years of service. Jim and Inge were also owners of Bulmer Aircraft Services based at the Moncton Airport until retiring in 1999. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years Ingeborg (Duerr) Bulmer; daughters, Karen Bulmer, Sandra Bulmer and husband Ted Pritchard, Ingrid Bulmer and husband Christoph WirthBulmer, and his beloved Nicker; brothers, Aubrey (Lilly) Bulmer, Vincent (Belle) Bulmer, and Edwin (Dot) Bulmer, all of Moncton, NB; his sister-in-law Norma Bulmer of Moncton, NB; nieces and nephews; and all his family and friends in Moncton and Germany. Jim was predeceased by his infant twin brothers; parents; and brother Reginald. Resting at Tuttle Bros. MORTLOCK, Albert Alfred Today we mourn the loss of a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Bert was born June 6th, 1916 in the Village of Lang and was taken from his earthly toils Saturday October 25th, 2003 in his 88th year. He served as a Sergeant in the Second World War and returned to Peterborough in 1945 and in 1947 joined his brother Walter in the construction industry. Upon the retirement of his brother, Mortlock Construction (1963) Limited was formed, carrying on the family business and the building of many city landmarks, retiring in 1978. Throughout his life he had many passions, none more so than his love for his family and the Masonic ideals and principals which he so faithfully applied. He traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States promoting Masonry and was a great ambassador for the City of Peterborough. FAIRWEATHER, RUTH E. - The death of Ruth Elizabeth Fairweather, of Ketepec, wife of 61 years this past August, of Glendon Burton Fairweather, occurred on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Olivia (Parsons) Blois. Ruth was a member of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) St. Clement. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed, by all those who knew her. Thelma Christensen 1920 - 2003 The death of Thelma Christensen, widow of John, of MacLean Cross Road Irishtown, occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, October 24, 2003. COLLINS, Reverend Monsignor Bernard Gerard - Peacefully at Mesa Arizona on Thursday October 16, 2003 in his 92nd year. Pre-deceased by his parents James Collins and Anastasia Foley and brothers Reverend Monsignor Joseph Collins (1974) and Reverend James Collins (2003) and sisters Mae Collins (1981) and Anna Barry (1987). Monsignor Collins was born in Indian River on August 22, 1912 and attended St. Michael College, Columbia College and Sulpician Seminary in Washington, D.C. He was ordained to the Priesthood at St. Raphael's Cathedral in Dubuque, Iowa on May 22, 1937, where his uncle Father William Torpey had been ordained in 1906. He was the Assistant Pastor at Immaculate Conception, Cedar Rapids from 1937-1945; Chaplain at Immaculate Conception Academy and Orphanage 1945-1947; Pastor at New All Saints Parish, Cedar Rapids 1947-1948; Fairbank 1948-1966; Webster City 1966-1969; Dean of the Eagle Grove Deanery 1966-1969; Pastor at St. Joseph, Mason City 1969-1972; St. Pius X, Cedar Rapids 1972-1982; and Laporte City 1982-1987, when he retired. For the past several years, he has lived in Mesa Arizona where he was active in the parish of St. Bridget and the Knights of Columbus. He also celebrated Mass in his home with a faithful group of friends daily and on Sundays in his last years. Funeral Mass was held in Mesa, Arizona on October 22, 2003 and in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on October 29, 2003. GASSER, Jack (Jacob) Emil passed away peacefully on Friday October 24, 2003 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital. Jack is survived by his beloved friend and partner Marjorie Hayes and family. He will be sadly missed by sister in laws: Dorothy (Al) Brach, Josie (the late Dr. Al) Lappatina and Linda (Ted) Lesniowski, brother in law Anthony Sennini, and many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Rosilda Gasser and his wife Marilyn Sennini Gasser. Jack was a former marine specialist employed in the generating industry and had previously worked for the Onan Corporation. In later years he was involved in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Snyder, Ontario where he as a member of the pastoral council, a lay reader and a eucharistic minister. He will be sadly missed by his many friends near and far from all walks of life. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Georges Catholic Church, Crystal Beach on Tuesday October 28 at 11 o'clock.

William Lawrence "Bill" Johnston TRURO, NS - William Lawrence "Bill" Johnston, 57, of Bridgeview Drive, Truro, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after he lost his courageous battle with cancer in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro on October 25, 2003. Bill was a stepson of Ardith (Medill) Johnston, Palmerston, Ont. and a son of the late William G. Johnston. He was a member of the Black Watch and went on to serve as a proud member of our Canadian Armed Forces. He retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Master Corporal. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Palmerston Branch #409. Over the last several years, he worked with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at the Colchester Regional Hospital. He loved working with all the staff there over the last few years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with many fish stories to tell and this came only second to taking rides on his motorcycle. He will be missed by many whose lives he touched over the years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Diane; daughters, Kim (Tim) Zinck, Shelly (Bunty) Soni, both of Halifax; sister, Connie (Conrad) Noble, Gowanstown, Ont.; grandsons, Michael and Taylor; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his natural mother, Margaret McClure. No visitation by request. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will take place, Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the service. JOSEPH EDOUARD ST. HILAIRE On Saturday, October 25, 2003 at St. Boniface General Hospital, Joseph Edouard St. Hilaire of St. Boniface passed away at the age of 87 years. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Irene (Firman), daughters, Patricia (Rene Bazinet), Laraine, Elaine (Lucien Desmarais), Janine (David Maksymchuk) and Denis (Elaine Giasson); grandchildren, Nicole, Jacques, Christine, Daniel, Michele, Richard, Andrew, Aimee, Emilie, Erik and Dominique; and seven great-grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his son Roger (Brenda Telford) in 1999. Joseph was born in St. Pierre and spent most of his life in St. Boniface graduating from St. Boniface College in 1934. He was actively involved in the community, serving as the founding President of the St. Boniface Historical Museum, Grand Knight and District Deputy for the Knights of Columbus, was a charter member of "la Caisse populaire de St. Boniface" and was Alderman for the City of St. Boniface for 13 years as well as Mayor of the City of St. Boniface in 1968. The extended family will also remember Joseph as the researcher and curator of the St. Hilaire geneology. Joseph had a long career as 1st class Stationary Engineer working for 38 years at Misericordia Hospital as Plant Superintendent. He enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, camping, fishing and stamp collecting. He was an avid traveller and corresponded with people he had met all over the world. It gave him great joy to comfort and support others through his many years of service to Meals on Wheels. He had great faith in God and reflected this through prayers, reciting the Holy Rosary, and supporting his church for many years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedrale, 190 de la Cathedrale, with Fr. Paul Campeau celebrant. A private family interment will be held at a later date at the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the Emergency staff at St. Boniface Hospital and particularly Dr. Tober and Dr. Rush, as well as nurses Heather and Diana for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to the Food Depot Fund at Holy Cross Church.
