Passed away on October 20, 2003 at the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown, Quebec, loving children at his side and caring friends close by. Originally of Westmount and a graduate of McGill, Philip received his degree in absentia while serving overseas as a commissioned officer of the R.C.A.F. from 1942-1945. While he and his wife (the late Valda Finlayson) were raising their four children: Philip, Jennifer (Ian), Margot (Mike) and Gordon (Carolyn), he worked as an executive with Pepsi-Cola and later as a realtor in the West Island. A thoughtful, patient father and grandfather, a true gentleman, Philip had a kind word for everyone, even in his difficult last days, and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. At his request, there will be no funeral service. A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the helpful and caring staff of Les Centres du Haut-St. Laurent-Ormstown and the Emergency staff at the Barrie. Né à Shédiac le 8 avril 1927, il était fils de feu Albert et Marie Gallant. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse depuis 52 ans, Lavonna (O’Regan) Gallant; trois filles: Dianne Gallant (Gérard Martin) de Grand-Barachois, Donna et Crystal Gallant, toutes deux de Shédiac; deux fils: John (Cindy) d’Amherst, N.-É. et Arnold «Bib» de Shédiac, ainsi que quatre petits-enfants: Kevin, Jaret, Jillian et Amanda. M. Gallant était la dernière personne vivante de sa famille immédiate. Quatre soeurs: Élizabeth, Bertha, Annie et Stella, ainsi qu’un frère, Robert, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. Gaston of Doaktown, N.B., occurred Friday, October 24, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a lengthy illness, at the age of 69. Born in Canso N.S., daughter of Mrs. Alfreda (Murphy) MacNeil and the late Robert MacNeil. She was a devout Catholic; she was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, DoaktownBlissfield Parish; member of CWL. She was very active in church and community affairs. She served three years in RCAF. She was a person who voluntarily offered herself in many different ways, such as grandparent volunteer at U.M.E.S. Boiestown and Doaktown Primary School; Mentally Handicapped Assoc. and Prince County Welfare Agency (Foster Care), both in Summerside PEI; Friendly Neighbours Assoc., Greenwood, NS; Roberta loved life firstly her family, children and grandchildren. Lloyd was a life long resident of Saint John and was employed with SMT Eastern LTD for over 40 years. He was an avid gardener and sports fan and a devoted family man. He was a member of 1st Wesleyan Church Boars Head Rd. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Wayne McKim (Tammy) of Saint John, Robert McKim (Jennifer) of Lower Sackville NS and Randy McKim (Bonny) of Saint John. Having lived in Thorold all his life, Gino was an active community member who served Holy Rosary Church as a parish ioner and usher, a member of the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #2319, the former Thorold Separate School Board, Thorold Library Board, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 Thorold, and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
