Lui survivent également plusieurs belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et beaucoup d'amis. Mme Founier était membre du Club Optimiste de Hawkesbury et en 2000-2001 a reçue la distinction de l'amie de l'année. Elle était également membre du Cercle des fermières de Hawkesbury. Patrick Joseph Hurley 1954-2003 SHEDIAC BRIDGE, NB - Patrick Joseph Hurley, 49, of Shediac Bridge, NB, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2003, at the Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on March 16, 1954, in Badger, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Benedict Hurley and Molly Bradley. He was a teacher, attended La visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande Digue and was a member of the Christian Brothers. He is survived by his partner, Daniel Goguen; two sisters, Barbara Benneth, Fort_McMurray, Alberta, Marguerite Hurley, Badger, Newfoundland; two brothers, Gerald Hurley (Mary) Badger, Newfoundland, David Hurley, (Denise) Corner Brook, Newfoundland. He was predeceased by one sister, Betty; and two brothers, Ron and Martin. (Chown) Keirstead, brothers Gilbert and wife Hildegard of Moncton and Herbert and wife Velma of Lorneville, thirteen nieces and nephews and twenty-one great nieces and nephews. Ph.D, F.R.S.C., Honorary Scientist, University of Ottawa Cam passed away on October 24, 2003 in hospital, at age 84, after a brief illness. Adored and adoring husband of Barbara (Babs) Brisbin. Loved and respected Dad of Chal Benson (Gail Ratcliff) and Gayle Jakubinek (Henry), and Grandpa of Mike (Tara Swords) and Paul Jakubinek. Cam had a distinguished career with the National Research Council of Canada, retiring as a Principal Research Officer (chemical thermodynamics) in 1984. He will be missed by long-time friend and collaborator, Professor (Emeritus) Benjamin Lu and colleagues in the Department of Chemical Engineering of the U. of O., where Cam continued research, mentoring and publishing until the time of his death. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road on Tuesday, October 28 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

PETTIPAS, Violet Georgina-56, Church Street, Pictou, and formerly of Trenton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Thursday, October 23, 2003, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Hilda (MacDonald) Earle. Vi was a crossing guard in Pictou for 15 years. She is survived by her children, Garnet (Michelle), Ontario; Greg (Shirley), Pictou; Patricia (Gary) McPhee, Pictou; Kevin (Stacey), Pictou; Amanda (Jason) Pittman, Westville; many grandchildren; sisters, Lillian (Ian) MacDonald, Ontario; Hazel (Robert) Sarson, New Glasgow; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Clyde. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Stella Maris Catholic Church, Pictou, Rev. Peter MacDonald officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only please. (Beecham) April 26, 1966 - October 23, 2003 Ingrid passed away in the late afternoon of October 23rd at the Ottawa General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the dear wife of John F. Ryan and loving mother of their son Kyle MacKenzie, aged 11 and their daughter Janna Ansley, aged 6 of Orleans. Ingrid was predeceased in April, 2002 by their 2 year old daughter D'Arcy Erin. Ingrid leaves to mourn her passing her brother Bryan Beecham (Heather) of Ottawa, her parents Daphne and Arthur Beecham of Haileybury, ON, and her grandfather, Robert Franks (Bridget) of Latchford, ON. Ingrid is sadly missed by many other relatives and friends including Maya McKenny (Toor). Ingrid was born in Kampala, Uganda (East Africa) and spent much of her childhood in Haileybury, ON. She earned a BA at Laurentian University, (Sudbury), an MA at Carleton University (Ottawa), did her teacher's training at McGill University (Montreal) and completed a Master of Education from the University of Toronto. Up until 2002 she was a History and English teacher at Gloucester High School in Ottawa. Ingrid was a devoted mother, wife and teacher. In her youth, she was a swimêmer, a lifeguard, an equestrian and she loved animals. She led a very full life and in her spare time, when not teaching or looking after her children, she enjoyed keeping fit and taking long walks in the woods. She was also an avid reader. A Celebration of her Life will be held at St. Helen's Church, 1234 Prestone Dr., Orleans, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CHEO Foundation, 415 Smyth Rd., Ottawa K1H 8M8 or a charity of choice.

Peacefully in Ottawa on Friday, October 24, 2003 at the Carlingview Manor, age 82. Born in Ottawa, he was the son of the late Air Vice Marshall E.W. Stedman and E.A. (Studd) Stedman. A proud member of the RMC Class of 1939, he served with the Royal Tank Corps during WWII and earned the Military Cross. He finished his Engineering Degree at the University of Toronto and began work at C.D. Howe Co. Ltd. in Port Arthur as a junior mechanical engineer. He dedicated his entire professional career to building the company into a substantial international engineering entity. In 1982 he retired as Chairman of the Howe International Group of Companies. He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Elisabeth Howe; his children Robin Mary and Bill, Charles and Christine, William and Joan and George and Kristin, grandchildren Carmen, Tom, Laura, Alexandra, Peter and Joseph and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Gabriel. Dr. Jean May A great woman passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2003, two days short of her 88th birthday. Born Jean May Meiners, October 27, 1915 in Toronto, Jean excelled at all levels academically before selecting medicine as her chosen profession. Jean attended U of T meds schools, graduating in pediatrics in 1941, but not before meeting her future husband, Dr. Eric Davey, who had graduated in 1935 and was a teaching assistant at the university. Marrying Eric in January of 1943, Jean started her career at Toronto Sick Childrens while Eric served overseas in the Canadian Medical Corps in WWII and D-Day. Upon Eric's return they settled in Ottawa in 1947 as Eric commenced a distinguished public service career with the Dept. of National Health and Welfare. Together they raised four successful children: Alan, a retired RCMP officer in London, Bruce (Laraine and four children), a doctor in Vancouver, Ross (Debra and five children), an Ottawa general insurance brokerage owner, and Joanne (Stephen Pringle and one child), a successful sales executive with Metro Wallcoverings in Toronto. All are products of an exceptional upbringing by two wonderful parents and role models. The quiet, serene and loving Jean was a most dedicated woman, resuming her career after a five year child rearing hiatus. Comêmencing in the early Fifties with eight years in Ottawa City Clinics, she subsequently spent ten years with the Ottawa Public School Board, a stint at Carleton University, fifteen years at CHEO and finally 10 years in a private practice clinic. Working into her early 80's, this remarkable woman dedicated herself unselfishly to her patients, most notably to children with learning disabilities. She touched the lives of many grateful families. Seven day weeks and twenty hour days were not uncommon, mostly unbilled. The phone was hard to get in the evenings. Still she found time to be a devoted wife and mother, growing a beautiful garden and never missing a birthday. A victim of a cruel and debilitating form of osteoporosis in her later years, Jean is now at peace and joins her beloved Eric who predeceased her in 1999. Jean is survived by her sister Dorothy (Bill Tom) and brother Bill Meiners (Maureen). She is predeceased by a sister Grace (Murray Hunt). Rest in peace our dearest mother - you will always be with us and we love you forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 11:30 a.m. at MacKay United Church (MacKay and Dufferin Streets) Ottawa. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hanna Georges Haddad on October 22, 2003. Born in Haifa, Palestine, Hanna was an inspiration to all those who met him. Hanna came to Montreal, Quebec in 1992. Surrounded by his close family, he passed away after a long, hard fought battle with Alzheimer's disease. Beloved husband of thirty-nine years to Angele (nee Asfour), cherished father to Marwan (Kirsten Woodruff), Janine (Sami Hawa), and Mazen (Tania Pachl). Loving grandfather of Sabine, Ryan, John and Luke. He will also be greatly missed by his sisters Naema and Nimaat and brothers Tanious and Risk. Predeceased by brother Tomeh and sister Mariam. He will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
