(1915 - 2003) Le frère Paul Lefebvre, clerc de Saint-Viateur, est décédé au Centre hospitalier régional de Lanaudière, le 20 octobre 2003, à l'âge de 88 ans, dans sa 72e année de profession religieuse. Né à Ste-Élisabeth (diocèse de Joliette), le 2 janvier 1915, le frère Lefebvre a prononcé ses premiers voeux chez les Clercs de Saint-Viateur, le 24 juillet 1932. Après quelques années d'enseignement, il complète sa formation académique à l'École Normale de Rigaud. Puis, à partir de 1940, il passera presque vingt ans à Berthierville: une quinzaine d'année comme professeur au Collège Saint-Joseph, puis 5 ans comme directeur du Juvénat des Saint-Anges. Ensuite il assume diverses responsabilités administratives dans des écoles ou à la Maison Provinciale de Joliette. De 1963 à 1979, il travaille comme professeur et conseiller d'orientation à l'École Normale Saint-Viateur de Rigaud. Directeur du Centre Champagneur de Joliette de 1979 à 1988, il termine sa vie active comme bénévole au Centre de réflexion chrétienne. Le frère Lefebvre sera exposé à laRésidence Saint-Viateur 132, rue Saint-Charles Nord, Joliette Tél.: 450-756-4568le mardi 21 octobre de 14 à 17 h et de 19 à 21 h. LUCILLE LOUISE DONAHUE (nee BEAUBIEN) On October 18, 2003, following a lengthy illness, Lucille, age 77, passed away at her home with her family by her side. Lucille will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joseph and children, Patrick, Thomas (Randi), Kathleen Glenwright (Tom), Mary, Diane Carlson (Jim), Joseph Jr. and Margaret; as well as her brother Maurice and grandchildren, Matthew, Brett, Thomas, Michael, Jennifer, Kendal, Kennedy, Adam, Kathryn, Bryce, Mackenzie and Dane. Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Eugenie, brothers, Raymond and Joffre and sisters, Yvonne St. Denis and Charmaine Girouard. Lucille was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She took special pride in her involvement with the Women's Church Craft Group, and knitting for her 12 grandchildren. It gives the family great comfort to know that our Mom is in God's hands and care now. A Celebration of Lucille's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22 at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Fred Olds. On October 17, 2003 at the age of eighty-eight years. "Doug" passed away peacefully at the Chateau Westmount. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1915, the only child of Forbes and Ethel (Johns) Coombes. He served as a flight Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1946. Afterwards Doug joined the Royal Bank in Halifax, eventually moving to Montreal and served in several positions, before attaining the status of Vice-President until his retirement. Doug was also a very generous donor to various charities. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Frances (nee Bisset) in 1991. The only surviving members of his family are cousins Donna (Johns) Acker and Carole (Johns) Kilroy, both residing in Nova Scotia. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, October 21 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke St. W. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 22 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, thence to mount Royal Cemetery for interment.

KATHRYN ANNE PRICE It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister, daughter, niece, and aunt, Kathryn, on Oct. 21, 2003. Kathryn attacked the cancer that invaded her body with the same characteristics with which she approached life: optimism, tenacity, courage, and good humour. Sometimes it is in our most difficult circumstances that we see the hand of God most clearly, and as a family, we give thanks for God’s blessings received even in the past few months. Kathryn was born Oct. 22, 1959 in Atikokan, Ont. As a teenager, she lived in Fort Frances for two years, then moved to Winnipeg, Man., where she had resided since. Kathy had a passion for life, delighting in her relationships with family, friends, colleagues, and some very significant buddies. Kathy also volunteered her time as a Junior Achievement advisor, was a member of Toastmasters and Business Forms Management Association, and loved her quiet times mastering couture sewing, doing crosswords, and golfing with her “Chicks with Sticks.” Kathy was predeceased by her father, John Price; and by her grandparents. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Bob and Myrna Stark; her sisters and their families, Donna and Chris Cannon and sons, Tyler and Travis; Marilyn and Russ Desserre and sons, Taylor and Dustin; Leslie Stark and Aunika; and Laurie and Steve Keck and sons, Joshua, Jordan, and Justin; her step-brother, Geoff Stark, his wife, Sandy, and daughters, Catriona and Samantha; Aunt Marge and cousin Terri; Uncle Ken; and her cherished cats, Fuji and Shasta. VIOLET LAVALLEE (nee MOWATT) With heartfelt sorrow the family announces the passing of our dear mother, grannie, nannie, great-grannie, sister, auntie and great-auntie at age 78, with her family by her side on October 17, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Violet was born February 26, 1925 in Robertson's Bay, Norway House. She met and married her true love George on August 19, 1948 after a two week courtship. They raised their family across Northern Manitoba. Settled in Selkirk in 1959 and were married 40 years until his passing in 1989. Mom enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her humourous stories and songs, bingo, knitting, going to the mall for tea and meeting her friends. She worked at Booth Fisheries for several years, also the Dinette Restaurant. In her later years her greatest joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. SONNEMANN, Joachim (Hans, Jochen) July 26, 1924- October 19, 2003 Passed away peacefully and without drugs, at home on beautiful Cranberry Lake, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 56 years of Charlotte Erna Frieda (Engel). His daughters Sa bine Sonnemann, Newmarket; Estra Barr (Jack), Inverary will deeply miss their Papi. His grandchildren Derrek (Trisha) Barr ; Tania Gordon (David), Delta; Marika Sonnemann Petro, Newmarket; great-grandchildren Gina and Kaitlin Gordon and Kassie Barr w ill greatly miss their beloved Opa. He is survived by his brother Manfred Sonnemann (Ingrid) Berlin, and sister Eva Greif (Karl Heinz) Potsdam, nephew Tim Sonnemann (Steffi) and their daughter Rosalie (and niece Tanja Sonnemann and her daughter Nele) , as well as sister-in-law Gisela Brandenburg, all of Germany. He was a man with a vision for a better life, and who as a political refugee from East Germany, brought his family to Canada in December 1957. He and the family arrived in Halifax, with t hree suitcases and no English. However, he had a successful career as a Maintenance Mechanic Journeyman at the Kingston Psychiatric Hospital for over twenty-five years. A veteran of WWII, he was a soldier in, and survivor of the Battles of Rostov, th e Cherkassey Pocket and Stalingrad (5th Panzer Division Wiking). Canada allowed him to realize his vision and leave a legacy of love and courage. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Storrington Fire Fighters Association, (RR 2 Inverary, ON K0H 1X0) would be most appreciated by his family. We would like to thank Dr. Lynn Stewart of Seeley's Bay for her compassion and understanding our philosophy of "good dying". Vivian M. Henry Vivian Marie Henry, 96, of Homestead Road, Steeves Mountain passed away at home, Sunday October 19, 2003. Born in Salisbury she was a daughter of the late Corey and Carey (Eagles) Lewis. Vivian was a retired school teacher and was a active member for over eighty years of the Second North River Baptist Church and was also a member of the Second North River Women's Institute and had attended the Salisbury Monday Morning Merry Makers. Vivian took great pride in her family and was especially interested in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by her sons William (Elizabeth) of Steeves Mountain, Allison (Katherine) of Salisbury, Mark (Beverley) of Second North River, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a sister Dorothy Mitton of Harrisville, a brother Victor Lewis of Riverview and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Harold (2001); a great grandson Derek Crandall; sister Winona Cochrane; brothers Trueman, Raymond, Paul, Corey and Vernon Lewis. COLLRIN, PATRICIA GLADYS - The death of Patricia Gladys Collrin of 656 Brunswick Drive, widow of Walter Collrin, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, October 20, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Collrin was born in Saint John on July 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Carl L. and Kathleen A. (LeGoff) May. Pat had volunteered many years with the Volunteers of the Red Cross and received a Merit of Honor and a Gold Pin. She was a member of the Legion of Mary; St. Jude's Society; the Glen Falls Gems; and the Happy Years Club. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Stephen Crowe; two brothers, Daniel and Carl May; and two sisters, Mary Kinney and Ann Hunter. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth A. Crowe (James) of Upper Loch Lomond; three sons, Leonard M. Collrin (Lynda) of Saint John, Robert L. Collrin (Deborah) of Surrey, B.C., and Daniel C. Collrin (Betty) of Saint John; three brothers, Richard May (Mary), Paul May, and David May, all of Saint John; four sisters, Nancy Kirk (William), Barbara Isaac (Tom), Jane Hoben (Merle), and Kathleen Gee (Peter) all of Saint John; six grandchildren, Paul, Amy, Michael, Lisa, Krista, and Corey; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. On Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of eighty-nine. Beloved husband of Mabel. The "Bon Vivant" of St. Sauveur, he loved life and the people around him. Drouin, Pauline (née Groulx) 1939-2003 It is with the greatest of sorrow that we announce the passing away of Pauline Drouin, 64 years, of Timmins, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Pauline passed away in the early morning of Oct 17th, 2003 in her daughters home in Chelmsford, with her husband, brothers, sisters, children and grand children at her side. Pauline was born in Rouyn, moved to Timmins and married Marcel Drouin. Pauline retired from the Golden Manor after working there for nearly 20 years. She will be remembered for her huge Sunday Meals, where the entire family and friends would gather Pauline had a flare for elegant clothing and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren so she could spoil them. She now hugs her saviour Jesus Christ, and dances with angels in eternal happiness. Predeceased by her beloved parents Wilfrid and Delia Groulx and by her sister Marcelle Drouin. Pauline's memory lives on with her husband Marcel Drouin and her large caring family her brothers and sisters Jeaninne Drouin (husband- Léo-predeceased) of Timmins, Denise Couture (husband André) of B.C., John Groulx (wife Beatrice) of Timmins, Fern Groulx (wife Annette) of Schumacher, Murielle Cockerline (husband Paul) of Northern Ontario, Gisèle Groulx of B.C. and Fred Groulx (wife Lise) of Timmins. Pauline is survived by her children Irene Drouin (fiancé Pete) of Timmins, Nicole Traynor (husband Shawn) of Chelmsford, Monique Pépin (husband Jacques) of Timmins and André Drouin (wife Lori) of Orléans. Pauline`s vast knowledge of home remedies will surely be missed by all her grandchildren Correen, Robert, Cody, Matthieu, Nicholas, Alicia, Roxanne and Stephanie. A memorial service will be held on Friday October 24th, 2003 at 11 am at Notre-Dame de Perpétuel Secours Church. Interment will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Regina Landry 1928-2003 Regina Landry, wife of the late Robert Landry of Collette passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 18, 2003, after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 75. Born on October 17, 1928 in Collette, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Alex and Edessa (Hache) Doucette. She is survived by four sisters, Alma Pitre (Felix) of Leominster, Mass., Elda Doucette (Rheal) of Collette, Emelia Martin of Moncton, Anita Martin of Moncton; three brothers, Gerard Doucette (Rosalie) of Leominster, Mass., Medric Doucette (Cecile) of Leominister Mass., Eugene Doucette (Lena) of Collette; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Regina was predeceased by one sister, Roselda; two brothers, Antoine and Eloie; and brother-in-law, Joseph Martin. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room in Collette on Monday, October 20, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, October 21, 2003, from 9:30 am until time of the funeral. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 21, 2003, at 11 am from Notre Dame de Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Collette with Father Denis Belliveau officiating.
