MARGARET LEMIEUX 1928-2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother on October 1, 2003 after spending most of her life in Winnipeg, MB. Mom decided to move to B.C. to let her daughter Marilyn care for her due to failing health. Mom was a wonderful, generous, loving woman, who was dealt many hardships in her life that many of us could not deal with, but deal with she did!! She was a hardworking woman and loved by so many. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Marilyn, of Victoria, BC and daughter June and son-in-law Bob Dudar of Thunder Bay, ON. Special thank you to the staff at Sandringham Hospital for the wonderful care they gave her while she was a resident there. A small service will be held at Sandringham Hospital in Victoria on October 28, 2:30 p.m., 1650 Fort St. Our mother will be brought back to Winnipeg in late Spring, early sumêmer, 2004 to be laid to rest with her two sons at Brookside Cemetery. Future memoriam will follow as to dates for graveside prayer.

Helen Eliza Lewis of Marlbank at age 87, retired long term employee of Dupont Canada. Daughter of the late William and Addie Lewis. S ister of the late Isabella McCarey, Mildred Saunders, Alma Busby and Harold Lewis. Dear aunt of Doreen Wharton (Wayne) of Elgin; Gerald McCarey (Mary Jane) of Huntsville and Linda Busby of Marlbank. Great aunt of Lisa Wharton (David Fogden) of Brisba ne, Australia; Kent Wharton of Brockville; Mark Wharton (Piera) of Ottawa; Jeffrey McCarey and Dara Carr (Jeff) of Huntsville; and Ian McCarey of Guelph. Great-great aunt of Richard and James Wharton of Ottawa; Alexis Wharton of Brockville; Catherine Fogden of Brisbane, Australia; and Erica Carr of Huntsville. Helen worked for many years in Kingston, Ontario. During the war, she worked at the Locomotive Works and later in 1946 joined the Dupont Nylon Plant retiring from there in 1981. She was a member of the saint Johns Ambulance Brigade. She moved to Marlbank in 1963 where she enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and family. She was a member of St. Matthews Church. At the Montreal Jewish General Hospital, on Sunday, October 12, 2003, aged forty-two years. It is with profound sadness, yet gentle relief that we share with you the passing of Mary Margaret Riordan of Beaconsfield at the age of forty-two. Peacefully in the late afternoon of October 12, 2003. Mary Margaret relinguished a courageous twenty-two month battle with cancer. Mourning their loss are her imêmediate family, devoted parents Jack and Joan, loving sister Debbie (Heacher), Diane (Jazwinski), Donna (Letourneau), brother Patrick, Michael and sister Maureen (Dossantos). Mary Margaret was a cherished aunt to eleven nieces and nephews and recently a great-aunt. Mary Margaret was born in Kitchener, Ontario, educated in Montreal. Mary Margaret overcame many obstacles and secured a challenging job for twenty-one years at Pfizer Canada. Mary Margaret's family holds the highest regard for the staff at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital, the outstanding dedication and support of Dr. Lawrence Panasci and the staff at the department of oncology. ALBERT SMITH (BOGANE-YAASH) Albert Smith, 58, of Northwest Bay First Nation, Ont., passed away suddenly at Northwest Bay First Nation on Friday, Oct. 10, 2003. He was born Feb. 24, 1945 in Northwest Bay First Nation to the late George and Julia Smith. For many years, Albert worked in the logging industry, and as a guide at various tourist camps in the area. He also drove bus and taxi, and worked as a firefighter. He enjoyed working in his yard and being around people. His other enjoyments including playing Bingo with family and friends. Albert was an outdoor person, and was very well known as a traditional healer and dancer. He was predeceased by his brother, Jim Smith in 1996; sister, Dolly Councillor in 1985; and niece, Geraldine Courchene in 2001. Albert is survived by his wife, Jessie Smith of Northwest Bay, Ont.; foster brothers, Jerry Mosher of Emo, Ont. and Steve Mosher of Couchiching First Nation, Ont.; two sons, Glenn Smith (Joyce) and Dalrey Smith (Susan), all of Northwest Bay, Ont.; and daughter, Evelyn Smith (Ben Kingbird) of Bemidji, Mn. He also is survived his nieces, Darryl and Vicky Councillor of Brush, Colo., Phyllis and Donald Ulrich of Northwest Bay, Ont., Janet Snowball of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Amanda Snowball of Stajikoming, Ont.; and nephews, Adrian Snowball, Gary Councillor (Lisa), and Cory Snowball, all of Northwest Bay, Ont. MOYER, David S., Born March 5, 1992 in Clinton Township, and died Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at his home in Beamsville. Son of the late Ira C. Moyer and the late Georgina Isabella MacLeod of Beamsville and brother of the late Margaret Irene Brown, Et ta Jean Blumgold of New Jersey, Ronald Claus Moyer of Grimsby and Ralph Levi Moyer of Corruna. In 1930 Ira Claus married Agnes Rohde Hansen of Denmark and had additional children, Elizabeth Fracchioni of Troy. New York, Inge Viau of Kingston, Peter M oyer and the late Samuel Moyer of Beamsville. Mr. Moyer was uncle of Paul Moyer of Vineland, Thomas Moyer of Beamsville. He is also survived by his daughter Julia Grace Douglas and her husband Steven and four grandchildren, Richard, Sarah, Cordelia a nd William all of Whitby. Mr. Moyer attended Queen's University in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering and graduated in 1951 with a B.Sc. in Physics. He worked in Toronto as a project engineer and later as a production engineer for most of his professional life. He attended the Vineland Mennonite Church as a child and later the Beamsville Baptist Church. After his marriage he converted to the Anglican Communion and lived mainly in Toronto. In later life he returned to Beamsville and a ttended services in both the Baptist Church and the Anglican Church. Mr. Moyer is at the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 4998 King St., Beamsville where the family will receive friends on Thursday 2-3:30 and 7-8:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Alban's Church,. 4341 Ontario St., Beamsville on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Gemma Bell Violette À l’Hôpital Général de Grand-Sault, le lundi 13 octobre 2003, à l’âge de 86 ans, entourée de sa famille bien-aimée, est paisiblement décédée Gemma Lapointe, domiciliée à Saint-Léonard, épouse en premières noces de feu John P. Bell et en deuxièmes noces de feu Lucien Violette. Née à Siegas, N.-B. en 1917, elle était fille de feu Xavier Lapointe et de feu Rose-Anna Cyr. Mme Violette était membre des Filles d’Isabelle de Saint-Léonard et autrefois présidente du 'W.B.A. Insurance' (Women’s Benefit Association). Une femme de prière, bien connue pour ses qualités de mère, ayant élevé quatre filles, elle a aussi été connue des gens locaux pour les services rendus lors de son emploi à l’ancien restaurant Acadia pendant neuf ans et ensuite comme aide-infirmière au Foyer Notre-Dame pendant une dizaine d’années. Son premier mari est décédé en décembre 1969 après quoi elle demeura seule pendant plusieurs années jusqu’en 1983 quand elle épousa Lucien Violette. Le couple a fait sa demeure à Edmundston une quinzaine d’années pendant lesquelles Gemma a créé de nouvelles amitiés, surtout pendant les huit hivers passés en Floride. Elle était pendant ces années paroissienne à Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs. Le couple a déménagé à l’ancienne demeure de Mme Violette à Saint-Léonard il y a quatre ans. Son deuxième époux est décédé en avril 2002. Elle a été précédée par sa deuxième fille, Barbara Ann, à l’âge de vingt mois, ainsi que deux frères, Albéo et Fernand Lapointe, et trois soeurs, Vénolia Levesque, Géraldine Lapointe et Fabiola Lapointe. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses trois filles, Mona (Richard) Martinik de Tariffville, Connecticut, Carol (Maurice) Michaud de Saint-Léonard et Phyllis (Jim) Doucette de Van Buren, Maine, sept petits-enfants, Maurice, Sandra, Terry Lee, Andrea, Richard Anthony, Philip et Thomas, sept arrière-petits-enfants, Jessica, Brandon, Amanda, Dana Marie, Norris, Preston et Forrest, un frère, Georges Lapointe de Saint-Léonard, trois soeurs, Georgette (Louis) Castonguay de Bristol, Connecticut, Bernadette Leclerc de Grand-Sault et Laurenna (Herbert) Martin de Sarnia, Ontario, ainsi que nombreux neveux et nièces. Elle laisse aussi les membres de la famille de son deuxième mari, qui furent pour elle une importante partie de sa vie. Ils l’ont respectée et aimée autant qu’elle la fait pour eux. La dépouille mortelle est exposée au salon Guy O’Regan, 83, rue Saint-Antoine à Saint-Léonard. Ses funérailles auront lieu le jeudi 16 octobre à 16h en l’église de Saint-Léonard, et l’inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Les heures de visites le mercredi de 19h à 21h, et le jeudi de 14h jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. Peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2003, two months after the passing of her beloved husband Tauno (Pappa), to whom she was married for 71 years, Helmi Victoria (Mummu) went to join him in her 95th year. Their love story continues and we are all left with a legacy of love, laughter and Finnish "Sisu". Devoted mother and best friend of her daughters Nancy (Sid Green) and Anja (Bob Armstrong). Loving Mummu of her grandchildren Cheryl Green, Cydney Green (David), Jamie Armstrong (Lisa), Chris Armstrong (Tanya), Tanja O'Connell (Darren) and her precious great-grandchildren Riley, Parker, Tanner and Dylann Armstrong; Madison and Gracie Armstrong; Carter, Jordyn and Brodie O'Connell. M. RÉJEAN PERREAULT 1933-2003 Le 4 octobre dernier est décédé monsieur Réjean Perreault âgé de 70 ans, époux de Yvette Mercier de Deux-Montagnes. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Suzanne (Jean-Pierre Caouette), Alain (Chantale Bilodeau) et Christian, trois petits-enfants Véronique, Cindy, Alexandre, ses frères et soeurs, Edith Aubin (feu Gaétan Perreault), Alfred Leblond (feu Raymonde Perreault), Marcel (Lorette Dufour), Raoul (Jeannine Aubin), Jean (Hélène Tétreault), Reina (Renald Biais), sa belle-mère Mme Justine Mercier, beaux-frères et belles-soeurs Camil Mercier (Pauline), Paul Mercier (Lucette), Maurice Mercier (Clémence), Rita Mercier. La direction des funérailles a été confiée au Funérarium Achille Ouellette du 680 de la Madone Mont-Laurier. Les funérailles ont été célébrées en l'église Cathédrale de Mont-Laurier le 9 octobre dernier et l'inhumation a suivi au cimetière d'Amos.

FOSTER, GAIL FRANCES -The death of Gail Frances Foster, wife of Douglas Bruce Foster, occurred on October 12, 2003, at her residence. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Donald and Mary Axel Thompkins. She was employed as the cafeteria supervisor at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She is survived by her son Herbert and his wife Stephanie of Saint John, her brothers Donald Thompkins and his wife Elsie of Saint John, Charles Thompkins and his wife Stella of Saint John, Walter Thompkins and his wife Mona of Toronto, ON, her sisters Joanne Kyle and her husband Eddie of Eastern Passage, NS, Elizabeth Naves of Saint John, Margaret Naves (Lloyd MacDonald) of Saint John, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. William A. Blake BLACK POINT, NB - The death of William A. Blake of Black Point, occurred Tuesday, October 14, at his residence at the age of 90. Born in Black Point, the son of the late Wilfred Blake and Alice (Murchie). Bill was a motor mechanic and began his career at Stewart McAlister's garage in Jacquet River. He worked many years for Caldwell & Ross Construction Co. mainly in Green River but also in other parts of the province, then to Bristol Motors, Dept. of Natural Resources, and, finally, at Steeves Motors in Dalhousie. He returned to the family farm in Black Point, where he raised beef cattle and grew potatoes and other vegetables. Bill was a member of the Bethel Church, Nash Creek, and served as an elder and trustee. He was deeply involved in the construction of the church basement and hall. He served as Treasurer of Miramichi Presbytery for many years and on the Board of the Dalhousie Cooperative. He is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Mary Pelletier (Gilles) of Moncton, Mabel Jamieson (Errol) of Sydney, NS; son, Alex (Rachel) of Campbellton; eight grandchildren; one brother, Allison (Muriel) of Black Point, and a special cousin, Marion McMaster of Point La Nim; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Preston and Stewart. His funeral service will be held from Bethel United Church, Nash Creek, Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Vivian Moores (niece) and assisted by Rev.
