Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 17 octobre 2003 à 11 h à l’église Ste-Thérèse et les cendre seront déposées au columbarium St-Dominique. Predeceased by brother John, brothers-in-law Ray Whitehorn and William Ryder. 1937 - 2003 The family announces with great sorrow her death on Friday October 10, 2003 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 66 years. Survived by her husband Kevin O'Brien of Timmins, her children Shelley O'Brien and Derek O'Brien both of Ottawa, her sister Lorraine (Frank) Collins of Timmins, her aunts Hilda Wickston of Oakville and Anne Booth of Niagara Falls, her uncle Mike Tokio of Timmins and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents John and Katherine Kapeless and by a special cousin Helen Fisher. Mrs. O'Brien worked for 25 years with the Bank of Montreal. ANNE FRENETTE Anne Frenette passed away suddenly at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 12, 2003. She was in good health, and lived in her own home at 904 Smith Ave. in Fort Frances until her passing. Anne celebrated her 90th birthday in Fort Frances, surrounded by family and friends, on March 23, 2003. Anne loved plants and gardening all of her life, and her prized petunias in hanging baskets were featured in the local paper on more than one occasion. Anne also loved to travel, and travelled to both coasts for weddings and visiting, as well as to the U.S.A. Equally loved and tended to was her immediate family of 13 children, 33 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Cards, presents, and gifts of money flowed over the years for every occasion, and only slowed down in the last couple years. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Onesime (Ony) Frenette on April 20, 1971. Anne is survived by her sisters, Julia Lansing of Whitby, Ont., Mary Benson and Peggy Martinson of Fort Frances, Ont., and Hilda McMahon of Kenora; and brother, John Lengyel of Fort Frances, Ont. She was predeceased by her sisters, Katie Loewen, Helen Smith, and Irene Alexander. Anne also was predeceased by three of her children, Margaret-Anne, Dennis (Denise), and Anita Jackson (Len). She is survived by her children, Donald (Rose deceased) of International Falls, Mn., David (Johannah) of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., Jerry (Aileen) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Bob (Diane) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Jim of Fort Frances, Ont., Rick (Joy) of Kenora, Ont., Susan Van Schaik (John) of Sidney, B.C., Bonnie Henson (Ken) of Bowser, B.C., Tom (Karen) of Nanaimo, B.C., and Cathy Docken (Tim) of Parksville, B.C. Anne also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she visited with and kept in touch with over the years. She will be missed by friends and family. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Ray Ronquillo will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances. Friends may visit Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Mme Flora Nassrallah est décédée paisiblement le jeudi 9 octobre 2003 ayant à ses côtés son fils Albert et sa bru. Épouse de feu Norman Nassrallah du Liban, elle est survécue par ses 2 fils: Feisal Nassrallah et ses enfants, son tendre fils Albert ``Abdallah'' Nassrallah avec lequel elle a voyagé dans plus de 60 pays à travers le monde; son épouse Bernadette qui a toujours su témoigner tendrement son soutien et prodiguer des soins attentionnés telle sa propre fille qu'elle n'a jamais eue; et par leurs enfants: Flora Germaine Fadwa Nassrallah et Albert-Nicholas Nassrallah qui ensoleillaient sa vie pendant les jours sombres. Ses plus chers petits-enfants, Flora Germaine et Albert-Nicholas ont toujours été à ses côtés même lorsqu'elle vivait ses moments les plus difficiles. Elle sera chèrement regrettée par plusieurs nièces, neveux et filleuls. Elle était une pionnière dans la construction de l'église orthodoxe St-Elias Antiochian en plus d'y être activement membre. Elle a jadis été présidente des Femêmes Antiochian Orthodox de St-Elias en plus d'être une jeune championne de plusieurs autres activités féminines au sein de l'organisation de l'église. Elle fut cantatrice pour l'église lors des célébrations du Vendredi Saint. Elle ne ménageait aucun effort auprès des nouveaux immigrants au Canada et les assistait dans leur quête d'obtenir leur citoyenneté canadienne. Elle était une fervante partisane du parti libéral canadien. Ses efforts furent reconnus et valorisés par les ministres du Cabinet, les membres du Parlement et les Sénateurs au cours des années 1950, 1960 et 1970. Nous voulons adresser des remerciements spéciaux et témoigner notre éternelle reconnaissance envers le personnel de la résidence St-Louis, section 2C pour les 7 merveilleuses années de soins exceptionnels; une appréciation sincère envers les Soeur de la Charité pour leur soutien; de chaleureux remerciements au Dr Luc Clément de l'hôpital Montfort (un fils n'en aurait pas fait davantage). She was a pioneer in the building of St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church as well as an active member. She was past president of the Antiochian Orthodox Women of St. Elias as well as being an early champion of other female activities within the church organization; she acted as a chanter of the church during the Good Friday Services. She was tireless in her efforts to help new immigrants to Canada and to assist them in their quest for their own Canadian Citizenship. She was an avid supporter of the Liberal Party of Canada. Her efforts were recognized and valued by Cabinet Ministers, MP's and Senators during the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. Special eternal gratitude and thanks to the staff of the Residence St. Louis 2C ward for their wonderful 7 years of exceptional care. Deep appreciation to the Sisters of Charity for their support. They will miss her dearly. FOUGERE, Ambrose A.-80, Havre Boucher, Antigonish Co., passed away October 9, 2003, at home. Born in Frankville, Antigonish Co., he was a son of the late Captain Dan and Charlotte (Levangie) Fougere. He was employed with the CNR as station master for 33 years, until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of St. Paul's Men's Club for many years and served as it's president. He was a member of St. Paul's Parish choir for over 50 years and a member of the Third Order of St. Augustine. Ambrose loved music and entertained people for many years with his singing, step dancing, whistling, guitar and piano playing, and with his favourite instrument, the violin. A veteran of the Second World War, Ambrose served with the Queen's Own Rifles and saw action in Belgium, France and Holland, where he was hospitalized for six months. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Scott MacKay), Waverley; son, Rick (Wanda), Havre Boucher; beloved grandchildren, Marlo and Rick MacKay, and Amber and Justin Fougere; sister, Sister Ada Fougere, CSM, Bethany, Antigonish; brothers, Sylvester, Frankville; Stanley, Havre Boucher; Gilbert, Linwood; many nieces and nephews. CHARLES LeBARGE Sadly on October 4, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Charles passed away. He is lovingly remembered and will be greatly missed by his wife June. Charlie played a large role in his nephew Stew (Hilda) and niece Rae's life and will not be forgotten. He is survived by his brother Thomas (Marjorie), sister Frances (Leo) and theirs and Ernest's families. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Rose; brother Ernest; sister-in-law Pat; and sister Lucille. Charlie served with the R.C.A.F. for 29 years, being honourably discharged as Master Warrant Officer in 1969. He lived his life with honesty, integrity, loyalty and generosity. His interest in sports, unique sense of humour, love of story telling and talent as a handyman have enriched us all. PARENT, Sister Mary Elaine (Isabelle Evangeline) entered Eternal Life on Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in Stoney Point, Ontario in 1910, the daughter of the late Alfred and Emelina (Chavin) Parent. In 1928 she entered the Ursuline Religious of the Diocese of London. She served the Ursuline Community as a teacher in Tecumseh, Maidstone, Wallaceburg, Chatham and Windsor. After her retirement from teaching she worked at Sundale Manor in Chatham with the Misericordian Sisters in their home for unwed mothers. She served as a homemaker in Moosonee for 2 years before her return to St. Ursula's in Windsor. In 1983 she came to Chatham and served as Volunteeer Librarian at "The Pines" High School for 3 years retiring in 1986. She is survived by sisters, Bernice Parent and Mrs. Ernestine Timothy. She is predeceased by a brother Raymond and sister Zelpha Beneteau. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Sunday October 12 at 7 p.m. in the Holy Family Chapel. September 13, 1927 - October 8, 2003. Peacefully, in his sleep, on Wednesday morning, October 8, 2003, Bob passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. Bob will be remembered by his wife of fifty-one years Jean (nee Barbour); sons Robert, Jim (Irene), Raymond (Dorie), Bill (Angie); grandchildren Tierney, Connor, Sarah, Cole, Wyatt, Aaron. He also leaves behind his brothers Victor, Lionel; sister Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service was held on Saturday, October 11 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel United Church, 755 Golspie St, Winnipeg (Kimberley at Golspie, in East Kildonan). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Research Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.

At the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Cornwall on Wednesday, October 8, 2003. Kathleen Stewart (nee Finn) of South Lancaster in her sixty-sixth year. Beloved wife of Tom Stewart. Dear mother of Thomas (Shelly) of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland and Edward (Jennifer) of Taiwan. Dear sister of Reginald Finn (Mary) of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Eileen Southbey (Max) of Falmouth, Jamaica and Sheila Groves (Murray) of Milton, Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her three grandchildren; Rebecca, Thomas Aidan and Rachel. Predeceased by her parents, Richard Finn and Genevieve Delaney and by one sister, Patricia Finn. A private family funeral service will be celebrated in the Chapel of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak Street, Lancaster, Ontario (613-347-3629). Interment will take place in Corner Brook, Newfoundland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
