Frank Fredrick Foster, Jr. Passed away suddenly on July 01, 2003, at his residence in Brockville, ON, in his 47th year. He was the son of Frank and Avis Foster of Picton, ON. Frank was born in St. John's, NFLD on August 07, 1956. When he was 6 weeks old, he travelled with his parents to Whitehorse, Yukon. At the age of 3 years, the family moved to Picton, ON. There, Frank grew up and graduated from Prince Edward Collegiate Institute. After graduating High School, Frank was accepted into the Worl d Youth Organization as an exchange student, travelling to South America where he worked for 3 months. On return from South America, Frank attended Ryerson University in Toronto and obtained a degree in Motion Picture Photography and Applied Arts. Af ter more time travelling to Israel and different parts of Europe, he worked for a number of years in the film industry, both in Toronto and Vancouver. Frank then decided to change careers. He attended Queen's University in Kingston, ON and received h is Bachelor of Education degree. He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, a daughter (Alice) Toronto, ON, sisters Beverly (Ted) Bath, ON, Kathryn (Bob) Sharbot Lake, ON, Wendy, Verona, ON, and brother Bill (Katie), Toronto, ON, nieces and nephews, a nd numerous cousins and friends. CLAYTON LACASSE Clayton LaCasse, beloved son of Joseph and Monique (nee Gauthier) and brother to Margaux, passed away in Rivers, MB on September 29, 2003. Clayton was born on June 18, 1986 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. He spent most of his youth in St. Vital, Winnipeg. Clayton was involved in Beavers, Scouts Canada, baseball, soccer, jazz band and he attended school at Ecole Varennes and Windsor Elementary School. He was part of JRK Millen Navy League Corps and joined 25 RCSCC CRUSADER when he was 12. He moved to Rivers in 2001 and joined 77 RCSCC SWIFTSURE. This year he was awarded Most Proficient Boats Person. Clay loved the outdoors. He spent his sumêmers sailing and became a Green Sail Instructor and taught sailing to young cadets. In the winter, he loved to snowmobile, ski, ice-fish, shoot, snowshoe and skate. Clay had a natural talent for music. He played the trumpet, tenor drum, harmonica and bass guitar, all self taught. After finishing his Grade 12 this year, Clayton dreamed of going to the Firefighters College in Brandon. He wanted to be in a profession where you had the opportunity to help others everyday. Clayton had a big heart and loved to be kind and welcoming to everyone. He was always laughing whether it was with others, or at himself. He was a natural comedian and was full of spirit. He was not just a human "being" but a human "doing." A funeral service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, in Brandon on Friday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Eric Giddins of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Brandon, officiating. A funeral service will also be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, on Saturday, October 4 (today), at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers are Cadets from 25 RCSCC CRUSADER. Interment will follow at the Glen Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Clayton may be made to the Navy League of Canada, Brandon Branch, care of Lt. DALE ANDREW FLEURY Dale Andrew Fleury passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Janell (Albert) Lapierre and his son, Terry Fleury, both of Wainwright, AB; his parents, Hector and Dorothy Fleury of East Selkirk, MB; his brothers, Darwin (Debbie) of Woodlands, MB and Garth (Donna) of Petersfield, MB; nieces and nephews, Matthew, Lindsay, Kaitlyn, and Derrick. Dale was born October 25, 1953 in Woodlands, MB. The family moved to Stonewall in 1968, where Dale completed his education. He was a lineman for Manitoba Hydro in northern Manitoba for several years before moving to Alberta as a lineman for Calgary Power. He worked in various locations in Alberta before returning to Manitoba in 1985. He lived in Woodlands for a number of years before moving to Winnipeg, where he resided until his death. In accordance with his wishes, Dale was laid to rest in a private family service at St. George's Anglican Cemetery in Woodlands. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Dale's memory.

RCMP Retired, Civilian Member Born April 2, 1947 in Edmonton, Alberta, Barry died October 1, 2003 in the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus surrounded by family and friends after a brief, yet valiant, struggle with multiple myeloma. Predeceased by his mother Orvie, father Douglas, and father-in-law Jim Clark. He is survived by his beloved wife Leslie Ann (nee Clark) and his two children, Darrell Lorne and Lisa Marie. Loving brother to Allan (Gloria), Montreal; Neil (Merrilyn) and Dawn, Edmonton; Shelley (Glen), Nanaimo and Douglas, Guelph. Also loved by his mother-in-law Mary Clark; sister-in-law Mary-Jane Garnett (Jim), Surrey, B.C. and brothers-in-law, Jim (Shirley) and Norman (Gwen), Langley, B.C. Beloved nieces and nephews include Taryn, Jaden, Brynne, Ariel, Nathaniel, Sarah, Robin, Willow, Gaelan, Maxwell, Leanna, Tracey, Tara, Melissa, Sandra, Teresa, Angela, John and Shyan. Barry served 33 years as a Forensic Scientist with the RCMP, most recently as Manager of the Canadian Police Research Centre, a collaboration of the National Research Council, RCMP and the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. An internationally recognized expert in hair and fibre analysis, he published innovative research articles on forensic hair comparison, chaired international expert committees and appeared as an expert witness in courts in both Canada and the United States. Envisioning the potential of DNA analysis in forensic science, he managed the implementation of DNA technology in RCMP labs across Canada and contributed to the 1997 National DNA Databank legislation. A member of the Canadian, American and U.K. Forensic Science Societies, he also served on the U.S./ Canada Bilateral Counter-Terrorism Research and Development Committee, 1999-2002. His contributions were recognized in 1996 with the government of Canada Public Service Award of Excellence and in 2003 with the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Comêmemorative Medal for his work in hair comparison, implementation of the National DNA Databank, and international standardization of forensic methodologies. Barry loved God's world and could often be found walking, cycling or cross-country skiing on the many miles of recreational trails around Ottawa. An active community leader, he volunteered his time on activities including Cub leader, soccer coach and Chair of the Colonel By High School Parents Association. He enjoyed theatre and activities of the National Capital Voyageurs Walking Club and the Ottawa Somêmelier Guild. His final speaking engagement was at the Bloody Words Conference of the Crime Writers Association held in Ottawa, June 14, 2003. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Barry's life will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, 1290 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, October 8th at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow.
