VERGE, Nina Minnie Louise (nee Langille) In loving memory of Nina Minnie Louise Verge (nee Langille), 86 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Sunday morning, June 22nd, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre. Born in Martin's River, Nova Scotia, she married Harry Verge in 1939 in Mahone Bay, N.S. Nina came to Sudbury in 1939. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Church of the Resurrection where she had sung in the church choir. Nina was devoted to her loving family taking great pride and interest in their activities and accomplishments. The light and love of her life will be cherished by all who knew her. Beloved wife of Harry M. Verge of Sudbury. Loving mother of Charles (wife Joan) of North Bay, George (wife Betty predeceased 1995) (friend Debbie), and Dale (wife Sharon) both of Sudbury, Gorden (wife Karen) of Mississauga, Nancy (husband Robert James) and Glenda (husband Denis Desjardins) both of Sudbury and David predeceased. ZEPPIERI, Ida and Mariano - It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ida Zeppieri (D'Aversa) of Downsview, Ontario. Ida has joined her husband of 54 years, Mariano, who just passed away May 24/03 at Downsview. Ida and Mariano were both surrounded by their loving family as they went to be with our Lord in heaven. MCGARRITY, Francis H. (Frank) - on June 19, 2003, at Peterborough Health Centre, in his 92nd year, peacefully, after a short illness. Frank was the beloved husband of Marcella (predeceased 1999). Sadly missed by daughters Carole Finn and Don, of Haliburton, Bernadette Smith and Ken of Orillia. Predeceased by daughter Donna Butcher (1976). Frank was the loving Pappy of Erin MacDonell, Eoin Finn, Kirsten and Terry Smith. Great-grandfather (also Pappy) of Kiara and Aidan MacDonell. He was brother of Emmett, Lawrence, and Leo McGarrity, Marie Seabrooke, Patricia Genge and Marguerite Sharpe, all predeceased. Very special uncle Frank to Randall Northey, and numerous nephews and nieces. Frank was a loving father who dedicated himself to his family in an extraordinary manner. His easy disposition, sense of humour, and his harmonica will be missed by his many friends. GRACE, Margaret "Isobel" (nee Hornell) In loving memory of Margaret "Isobel" Grace (nee Hornell), at the age of 87 years, Sunday morning, June 22nd, 2003. Isobel is survived by husband George Grace of Sudbury, sons Douglas (wife Harriett) of Owen Sound, Tom (wife Patti) of Oman, and Bill (wife Colleen) of Owasso, Oklahoma, and grandchildren Allan, Elizabeth, Lenea, Pamela, Laura, Emily and Andrew, and sister Betty Sheppard of Collingwood. Isobel was born and raised near High Park in Toronto. She married George in 1944 and settled in Sudbury. After living on Patterson St., they moved to McNaughton St. where they resided for 41 years. In her younger days Isobel was an athlete of some note and continued to participate in badminton, tennis, swimming, and skiing throughout her life. At the age of 83 she gave up on rollerblading because none of her friends would rollerblade with her. By staying active she was an inspiration and example for us all. Isobel was always involved in community activities particularly with the YMCA and St Andrew's Church. She distributed Meals-On-Wheels to shut-in residents for 25 years and was a supporter of the theatre centre and art gallery. Isobel was a lifelong bridge player with many friendships made over the years. After George's retirement he and Isobel traveled the world and enjoyed every minute of it. Isobel always thought the best of everyone she met and our world is a better place for it. Goodness and mercy followed her all the days of the life. DOW, Dr. Margaret Grace Benjafield The family announces with sorrow her matriarch's death at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury, Ontario, June 23, 2003, at the age of ninety-seven. A native of St. Thomas, Ontario, born in 1906; daughter of John & Mary Benjafield (predeceased), sister to Grant and Jack Benjafield (predeceased), sister-in-law of Lila Benjafield. Beloved wife of the late Richard Godfrey Dow. Predeceased by her daughter Joan Creighton (husband Dr. R.J. Creighton), and her son Richard G. Dow Jr. (wife Cathy-nee Lee). Survived by her son Peter (wife Stella). Lovingly missed by her eleven grandchildren (one predeceased), and twelve great- grandchildren, one niece, and two nephews. While nursing in St. Thomas, Ontario, Margaret met & married Richard G. Dow in 1933. Together they moved to the Sudbury area in 1935 where Mrs. Dow has since resided. Mrs. Dow's community involvement and commitment has been beneficial for many organizations over the past 68 years. Mrs. Dow has served locally and provincially as a member of the I.O.D.E. for the past 76 years, and received a Primary Life Membership in 1950. As a member of the I.O.D.E., she was instrumental in assisting in the purchase of the Mace for Laurentian University. Mrs. Dow has been active in the Anglican Church by holding various positions on the Vestry Boards as well as a number of leadership positions in Girl Guides organizations for over thirteen years. In 1980 Mrs. Dow was named Honorary Member of the City of Sudbury, and in 1983 was chosen as one of one hundred community Women of the Century. In 1987 Mrs. Margaret Dow was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Law Degree from Laurentian University in recognition of her contributions to the life of the Sudbury Community over many years. Mrs. Dow was very proud to work with the Court of Canadian Citizenship for which she received a citation for 40 years of service in the Citizenship Courts. Mrs. Dow's other involvements included being a member of the Sudbury Memorial Hospital Committees on Pastoral Care, and Public Relations. She was a charter member of the Hospital Auxiliary Board, as well a member of the Board of Govenors of the Sudbury Memorial Hospital. She was the original founder of the Copper Cliff Museum, and in 1976 she was awarded by the City of Sudbury an Honorary Life membership of the Copper Cliff Museum Board of Management with voting privileges. Other awards include Hospital Life Membership, Provincial Life Membership, as well as the Queen Jubilee Medal. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. BOURGET Noel Lucien Noel Lucien Bourget, husband and best friend of Lori, and Dad to Casey passed away peacefully on June 22, 2003. Born in Montreal on December 17, 1956, Noel moved to Calgary in 1976, where he met and married Lori in 1979. Noel's greatest treasure, his daughter Casey, was born in 1985. Noel's family meant everything to him and it distressed him more what his illness was doing to his family, than himself. Noel had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He attended both the U of C and Concordia University. He enjoyed his science fiction, math, astronomy and physics. For the past several years he enjoyed being a Judge at the Youth Science Fair. Noel loved traveling with his family, camping, kayaking, playing guitar, learning to speak and read Japanese and making wine with his friend Bruce. Above all, he loved flying his Cessna. Besides Lori and Casey, Noel is survived by his brother Serge, and Mom Jeannine of Montreal and stepsister Suzanne (Dennis) Delorme of Winnipeg. Our Family's journey has been made easier by the outstanding support of so many wonderful friends. We wish to thank our employers, Auto-Trol Technology Canada and Apache Superior Printing. A very special thank you to Bruce Keffer and family, Sharon Attrill, and our family doctor and friend, Dr. Jane Govan. COURTEMANCHE, Jack Adolphous On Sunday June 22, 2003 Jack Courtemanche of Edmonton passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side at the age of 78 years, at St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre. Jack was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. FLEMING, Yvonne (Allain) In loving memory of Yvonne Fleming (Allain) 87 years who passed away June 22, 2003 at Extendicare Falconbridge, Sudbury. HEBERT, MR. AURELE JOSEPH-The death of Mr. Aurele Joseph Hebert, loving husband of Laura (Poirier )Hebert, of Renforth, occurred on Sunday June 22, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 13, 1934 in Acadieville, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Arthemise ((LeBlanc) Hebert. Aurele was a carpenter by trade, retiring from Saint John Shipbuilding. He enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Assumption Center 30 Up Club. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Lloyd Checkland, also 2 brothers-in-law, historian Sydney Checkland and Rev. Edward Checkland. Lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dulcy (Mike) Huard of Victoria; grandchildren Chantal and Martin Huard of Victoria; one brother, Jack (Rita) Burke, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; one sister-in-law, Olive Checkland of England; and sister-in-law, Jean Checkland of Edmonton. Gertrude spent much of her life in Ottawa, where she married her childhood sweetheart. As a former diplomat's wife, she travelled the world widely with a special fondness for England. A talented dancer, she studied Tap for many years. She was known for her style and class, her love of cats and gardening. Mom, you will be missed so much. Now you have an eternity to teach Dad to dance. MARCEL LARAMEE It is with great sorrow that the family of Marcel Laramee announces his passing on June 22, 2003 at the age of 80. Marcel was predeceased by his loving wife Marie, of 56 years; parents Edmond and Yvonne; sisters, Cecile Prefontaine, Denise Olson, Pauline Ciwko; brother Leon and godchild Brian Olson. He leaves to mourn his passing three sisters, Albertine McCaughan, Augustine Prefontaine, Yvonne Robidoux; three brothers, Emile, Gustave (Helene) and Joseph (Eva); sisters-in-law, Dot Laramee, Cecile Brown, Irene Rheault; brother-in-law Oscar Legault (Florence); godchildren, Sylvia Lagasse, Carole Regnier, Lorraine Trudeau, Greg Brown, Helene DeMarcke and Mitch Laramee, along with numerous nieces and nephews who were all made to feel like his own children. Marcel was born on April 19, 1923. He married his true love Marie Legault on October 29, 1946. The lived in Elie for a number of years before moving to the St. Boniface area. You were always welcomed at Mac and Marie's and the hospitality was second to none. In his early years, Marcel spent his winters logging in Ontario with his brother Leon. During the sumêmer, his time was spent farming for Mr. Lachance. Later in life, he worked for Supercrete where he finally retired after 33 years of service. He took great pride in everything he did. Marcel and Marie enjoyed many years camping in the Big Whiteshell and later at their cottage at Booster Lake. He loved hunting, fishing, and his cottage, but most of all he loved Marie and life without her was not meant to be. Initially she had been a nursing aide at Extendicare-York and then for 18 years she operated her own daycare from her home, retiring in 2000 due to failing health. She was an advocate and friend to children. Debie loved life possessing many gifts and talents. She was an artistic person who made beautiful ceramic creations. She was quick to help others and she was well respected as a problem solver for others. Debie was also an animal lover. Although she was denied a quantity of life, her quality of life leaves a rich legacy of love and goodness to her devoted family and many friends. Beloved wife of Mike Petersen of Sudbury. Born in Moncton November 29, 1963, he was the son of Raymond and Imelda Robichaud. Besides his parents, he is survived by his common-law partner, Cindy Morrison; one brother, Paul Robichaud of Moncton; two sisters, Gina (Bernie Cormier) of Brampton, ON, Lina Robichaud of Shediac. Service will be held at NDG Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at 3 p.m. Interment in FairHaven Cemetery.

Les funérailles ont eu lieu le mercredi 11 juin, à Orangeville, Ontario. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Egan, 273 Broadway, Orangeville, Ontario.
