BASTIEN, Aimé Joseph 1931-2003 The Daily Press Tuesday, June 17, 2003-07:00 Obituaries-The family announces with great sorrow his death at his residence on Sunday, June 15, 2003 at the age of 71 years. Father of Lianne Bastien, Paul Bastien (friend Guylaine Caron) all of St-Pamphile, P.Q., Marcel Bastien of southern Ontario, Line Bastien (fiancé Larry Vachon) of Timmins and Yvon St-Jacques. Grandfather of Mathieu, Steven, Julie and Jessica. Brother of Gilbert Bastien of Timmins and Liliane Bastien of Ottawa as well as many other brothers and sisters. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his good friend Nelson McMillan and family. Aimé was born on August 23, 1931 in Macamic, Quebec. He worked in Quebec for various mines and then moved to Timmins in 1981 where he continued his work as a miner. LeBLANC, Fernande BOUCTOUCHE-À l'Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le lundi 16 juin 2003, à l'âge de 81 ans, est décédée Fernande LeBlanc, épouse de Roger LeBlanc, domiciliée à Bouctouche, chemin du Couvent. Elle était fille de feu Vital LeBlanc et de feu Héloïse Gaudet. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Ghislaine Pollabauer (John) de Moncton et Yolande Waller (John) de Naples, Floride; trois fils: Robert (Jacinthe) et René (Bernice), tous deux de Bouctouche et Jean-Marc (Charline) de Moncton; deux soeurs: Thérèse LeBlanc (Fernande) et Doris Richard (Rosario), toutes deux de Dieppe, ainsi que 19 petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces. Une soeur, Sr Louise Thérèse, n.d.s.c., ainsi qu'un frère, Louis-Hervé, l'ont précédée dans la tombe. Mme LeBlanc était membre du Club de l'âge d'or. Elle a fait beaucoup de bénévolat au Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Bouctouche pendant plusieurs années. Gerry jouissait tellement de sa vie qui était toujours comblée de joie et d'amour. Malgré sa maladie, il a toujours su garder un influence positive et cette qualité épatante a toujours pénétré les coins sombres de sa vie et lui donna vigeur et dignité durant les jours obscurs. C'est avec beaucoup de plaisir qu'il partageais un don spécial du jardinage et la planification de son jardin se fut de son lit à l'hôpital. Ses amis lui étaient tres chers et certains d'entre eux lui ont aider a accomplir ses derniers désirs. Propriétaire de chevaux, un autre de ses grand plaisirs, il était au comble du bonheur entouré des ses petits-enfants leur démontrant l'entretien du cheval. "Il a vu la mort venir; il etait prêt. Sa mort est celle du juste; le couronnement de sa belle vie". Madame Blake a toujours demeuré à Coniston et était à l'emploi du Conseil des écoles catholiques de Sudbury pour plusieurs années d'abord comme enseignante ensuite comme conseillère pédagogique en enfance en difficulté. Après sa retraite à 68 ans, elle a passé 4 ans dans les cadres du Ministère de l'Éducation à Sudbury. En tout elle a oeuvré 41 ans au service de la jeunesse dans la région de Sudbury. Plusieurs se souviendront d'elle comme la directrice de la chorale à l'église Notre Dame de la Merci à Coniston et depuis plusieurs années à l'église Notre Dame de al Rivière à Wahnapitae. Elle prenait ses tâches soit au sein de la chorale, soit au sein de comités de la paroisse ou dans le club senior de Coniston très sérieusement. Parmi ses honneurs nous comptons: Le Mérite Franco-Ontarien, la Médaille du mérite diocésain, la Reconnaissance officielle du Ministère de l'Education pour sa contribution en éducation. Went to be with his Lord and Saviour surrounded by his loved ones in Meaford, Ontario on June 15, 2003. Son of William and Lyla Taylor. Beloved husband of Ruby. Father of Jennifer (Bob) Lay, Barry (Tracey) Taylor, Janice (Michael) Hebbert, Lyla (Aaron) James. Grandfather to Brendan, Elizabeth, Jessie, Jordan, Hudson, Thomas, Dalton, Matthew and Taylor. Fondly remembered by brother Barry Taylor, sister-in-law Vina Taylor, brother-in-law Martin Linseman and numerous relatives. Predeceased by his parents, brother William and sister Ethel. "Jim-Bob" retired as a staff sergeant from the Ottawa-Carleton Police Service after serving for 34 years. He was a faithful member of Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and his love and laughter will be sadly missed. Many thanks to all those in the medical profession who provided such excellent care over the last 8 years. QUINN, Garwood "Gary" Thomas In loving memory of Garwood "Gary" Thomas Quinn, 67 years, who passed away Saturday, June 14th, 2003 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site. Beloved husband of Lorraine St. George of Falconbridge. Loving father of Cindy (husband Phil), Wesley (wife Linda), Cheryl-Ann (husband Joel), Mavis (husband Clyde), George (wife Pamela), John (wife Patricia), Don (wife Wendy), Paul and Gerry (wife Daisey). Dear son of Wesley predeceased and Kathleen (Wilson) Quinn. Dear brother of Robert (wife Janet), Bryon (predeceased), Mavis (husband Warence), Mina (husband Frank), Elizabeth (predeceased), Inez (husband Robert) and Colleen (husband Richard). Sadly missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Fondly remembered by the Bell cose and Roberts Families. Gary had been employed by the Town of Nickel Centre for many years retiring in the early 1990's. He was an excellent carpenter but his time spent as a life member of the R.C.L. Branch #336 Falconbridge-Garson (1971-2003) and his service with The Navy League (1976-2003), gave him greatest joys. Gary volunteered hundreds of hours with those institutions and made many deep friendships there. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. At Gary's request there will be no public visitation.
