RAINVILLE, Laurent Anthony At the London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus on Sunday, June 1st, 2003. Laurent Anthony Rainville of St. Thomas in his 56th year. Beloved father of Patrick and his wife Kari Rainville of Iona; Alice and her husband Dave Elford of St. Thomas and Linda Freele of St. Thomas. Dear brother of Laurette and her husband Yvon Rodrigue and Helene and her husband Ron Matte all of St. Thomas. Predeceased by son Norman. Laurent is also lovingly remembered by five grandchildren Michael and Anthony Elford, Shelby and Dakota Freele and Connor Rainville and by several nieces and nephews. Laurent was born in Verner, Ontario on September 5th, 1947 to the late Nelson and Gabrielle Rainville. He was retired after thirty years with the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the C.A.W., the Labour Centre and Branch #41 of the Royal Canadian Legion and was an avid Hunter and Fisherman. LONG, Peace (nee Stewart), Passed on peacefully at the United Mennonite Home, Vineland on Sunday, June 1st, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Walter Long (May 8th, 1963). Much loved mother of Danny and Marilyn Long, Sandy and Archie Ghiendoni, Kenny an d Dawn Long. Loved grandma of Lori and Jerry Couroux , Karyn, Jeff, Darren and great-grandma (G.G.) of Austin, Ashley, Courtney, Sarah and Carley. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their children. Daughter of the late Charles (1969) and Alice (Watkins) (1985) Stewart and a brother Francis "Sonny" Stewart (1999). Peace was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Thorold for many decades. Peace was the owner of Long's Paint Shop on Front Street, Thorold from 1958 and retiring in 1983. BOUDREAU, Ruth Finlayson-77, Little River, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2003, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born April 21, 1926, in Dundee, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Williamina (Patterson) Williamson. She served with the British Army's Women's Forestry Corps during the Second World War. It was during the war that she met her future husband, Bruno, and they married on October 10, 1945, in England, returning to Canada the following year. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed camping. She also greatly enjoyed their dog, Hunter. Surviving are her husband, Bruno; children, Betty Boudreau (Wayne Burke), Dartmouth; David Boudreau (Diane Goodwin), Little River; Art (Bernardine) Boudreau, Victoria, B.C.; Robert (Sheila) Boudreau, Little River; Barbara Boudreau, Victoria, B.C.; Percy (Holly) Boudreau, Victoria, B.C.; grandchildren, Calla, Garnet, Amber, Melanie, Natalie, Vanessa, Jason, Krista, Sara, Celeveland, Melanie, Cortland, Jasmin; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ashley, Dakota, Trinity. Une fille, Cécile; une soeur, Imelda, ainsi que deux frères: Alphonse en bas âge et Venance, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Coopérative funéraire «La Colombe», 667, chemin Saulnier Ouest à Tracadie-Sheila. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette de Sheila, le mercredi 4 juin, à 17h. FRANÇOIS " Frank" LUCIEN BOIVIN 1915-2003 The Daily Press Tuesday, June 03, 2003-07:00 Obituaries-The family announces with great sorrow the peaceful passing of Frank Boivin at the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his wife Gilberte in 1999. Loving father of Jean-Guy of Timmins, Raymond of Sault Ste. Marie, Michel (Heather), René, Denis all of Timmins and Marc of Sault Ste. Marie. He is the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Ottawa. Born in Ottawa, he arrived in Timmins in 1938, served in the RCAF during World War II. He worked for many years as a painting contractor. Later, he became a draftsman in the Engineering Department for the City of Timmins until his retirement in 1980. In 1941, Frank was a founding member of the quartet called "Les Gais Lurons", won the first Porcupine Music Festival Rose Bowl in 1947 and was choir director at St. Anthony’s Cathedral for over 25 years. He will be sadly missed. Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 from St. Anthony’s Cathedral. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. FENDELET Emma (nee Bedier), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 in Saskatoon. Emma was born on January 26, 1909 in Hafford. She attended the convent in St. Louis for her schooling. She married Steve Fendelet on October 14, 1941 and they lived in Albertown until they retired to Hafford in 1969 where she resided until the time of her passing. Mom's life was dedicated to family and church. She enjoyed the family gatherings at which there was always an abundance of good food prepared by her loving hands. Gardening was also a favorite past-time and she enjoyed the Tuesday night outing to bingo. She also looked forward and enjoyed the chips and gravy lunches with her sister, Cecile. Mom's character and strengths will be an inspiration to her family. Emma is survived by her loving children, Clarence (Bernice) of Shellbrook, Edward (Mavis) of Saskatoon, Therese (Tony) Humen of Saskatoon, Marcel (Susan) of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Hal, Curtis, Monique and Stephen, Calvin and Quentin, Mark, Stephen, Tyler, Justin, Trevor, Kathleen and Jacqueline and families; sister, Cecile (Emile) Fendelet; brothers, Joe (Clarice) Bedier, Edward (Eva) Bedier; sisters-in-law, Lea (Victor) Martin and Solange Bedier; and numerous nieces and nephews. June 9, 1907 - May 31, 2003 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret Hayes of Edmonton, formerly of Moncton, Montreal and Ottawa, passed away in her sleep on May 31, 2003 just nine days before her 96th birthday. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughters Joann (& Graham) Cooke of Edmonton, Carolyn (& Robert) Castleberry of California, daughter-in-law Hilary Daniels of England; grandchildren Douglas (& Margot) Cooke and Darren (& Cindy) Cooke of Edmonton, Laura Castleberry of California and Lisa Castleberry of Nevada; and great-granddaughters Sydney & Parker Cooke of Edmonton. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Helen Tracy, and sister-in-law, Blanche Parker of New Brunswick and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in the Maritimes and Ontario. ANTOINE (TONY) PLANTE July 5, 1932-May 29, 2003 With deep sadness the family of Tony Plante announces his passing on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, at the age of 70 years. Tony is survived by his wife Dale; son Bory's, daughter-in-law Sally of Winnipeg; daughter Theresa, son-in-law Phil of Squamish; grandchildren, Dustin, Angie, Jesse, Renee and Ethan; siblings, Paul, Jean Marie, Francoise, Gerard of Quebec; mother-in-law Margaret of Victoria; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his mother Georgiana; father Joseph; and siblings, Albert, Marie-Paul, Marie Rose, Anne Marie, Benoit, Alfred, and Therese. Born in St. Redempteur, QC, Tony spent several years in the R.C.A.F., then Northwest Industries, Edmonton, and CAE Aircraft, Winnipeg. In 1978 he joined New Flyer Industries, Winnipeg, retiring after 20 years service. He was easily approached, a careful listener and non-judgemental; he was generous with his time and talents, with a quick sense of humour and a curiosity for many things. Always enjoying the outdoors, Tony liked fishing, skiing, photography, and of course golf. Tony's funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m. in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Ave. at Belvidere Street. The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their gentle care. Il était l'époux bien-aimé de feu Claudette Pérreault et le fils de Frédéric Léonard et de feu Clothilde Lajeunesse. Il laisse ses 3 enfants; Richelle, André (Lucienne) et Sylvain; ses 2 petits-enfants; Patrick et Mélanie; 8 soeurs: Jacqueline (feu Hubert), Denise, Rosianne, Lise (feu Jean-Charles), Gisèle (Jean-Pierre), Rachel (feu Rémi), Hélène (Feu André) et Raymonde (Feu Charles) et 2 frères: Jacques (Aline) et François. Il fut prédécédé par 1 soeur, Pauline et 2 frères: Fernand et Maurice (Gisèle). Il laisse également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces ainsi que ses nombreux amis. Un merci spécial au personnel de l'Institut de cardiologie de l'Hôpital civic, ainsi qu'à toutes les infirmières. Un merci également au Dr Masters, au Dr Hill, ainsi que son médecin de famille, Dr André Gauthier pour les excellent soins prodigués à M. Léonard. Il n'y aura pas de visites au salon cependant la famille invite parents et amis à se joindre à elle, le jeudi 5 juin 2003 à 11h, en la cathédrale St-Jean-Marie-Vianney, Gatineau (angle Maloney et Notre-Dame), pour une messe en présence des cendres. La famille sera présente à l'église 45 minutes avant la messe afin de recevoir les condoléances. Pour ceux qui le désirent, des dons à l'Institut de cardiologie de l'hôpital civic, 1053, av. RECOLLET, Lawrence H. In loving memory of Lawrence H. Recollet, August 14, 1926-June 1st, 2003. Lawrence Recollet, a resident of Wikwemikong, passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on Sunday, June 1st, 2003 at the age of 77 years. He was born in Wikwemikong, son of the late David and Lena (Fox) Recollet. He was a member of St. Anthony Daniel Catholic Church, Kaboni. Lawrence worked for E.B. Eddy Forest Product's as a logger. He enjoyed the outdoors along with hunting and fishing. His family and extended family will miss Lawrence, but many happy memories will be cherished. Dearly loved husband of Catherine (Roy) Recollet (predeceased). Dear father of Francine Tobodo (husband Dan) of Espanola and Glen Recollet of Wikwemikong. Predeceased by two children Daniel and Anita. Dear grandfather of 6, Craig and Lisa, Miranda, Dallas, Glenda and Glen Jr. and 1 great-grandchild Gauge. Loving brother of Daniel (wife Marena), Clayton and Ivan. Predeceased by brothers Angus and William and sisters Winnifred and Agnes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. LEMIEUX, Raymond The family announces with sorrow, his death in Sudbury, Monday, June 2, 2003 at the age of 66 years. Son of the late Domina Lemieux and the late Emélia Lemieux (née Branconnier). Beloved husband of Jeannette Lemieux (née Gauthier) of Hanmer. Loving father of André Lemieux (wife Denise) of Sudbury, Normand Lemieux of Toronto and Ginette Lemieux of Hanmer. Dear brother of Gaetanne Rivet (husband Claude), Georges Lemieux (wife Jeannine), Edmond Lemieux (wife Paulette) and Thomas Lemieux (wife Aurore) all of Sudbury, Lucille Roy (husband Leonard predeceased) of Blind River, Claudette Brisson (husband Raymond) of Oshawa and Madeleine St Louis of St Charles. Predeceased by her brothers Ti-Claude (wife Lise of Mississauga) and Rodolphe (wife Laurence of London). Mr. Lemieux was retired from Inco after 35 years of service. Raymond was a family man, a devoted husband and a loving father. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 10602, Ste Marguerite D'Youville and very active in his parish. In his leisure time, Raymond enjoyed fishing. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. Peacefully in hospital on Thursday, May 29, 2003 age 92 years. Margaret was born in Larkhall, Scotland on July 16, 1910 and immigrated to Canada at the age of 19 years. Predeceased by her five brothers, William (Susan), Robert (Doris), Henry (Noella), David (Cynthia) and James (Jean). Much loved aunt of many nieces and nephews, especially Scott (Elizabeth), Kent (Danielle), Kim (Tim) and Bill Dyet (Beverley) of New York State. Margaret was a faithfull servant of God, who cared and gave to everyone. All her family and friends have special memories of times shared with her. The family would like to thank all the staff at Island Lodge who cared for Margaret during her time there. It was a true home to her. Also for the excellent care she received by the nursing staff on the fourth floor at the Montfort Hospital, the family extends its' gratitude. A private family service was held on Monday, June 2, 2003. Memorial Donations to Island Lodge or the Montfort Hospital would be appreciated.

GALLANT, GERRY-Gerry Gallant of Sussex Corner, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the Sussex Health Centre on June 1st, 2003 at the age of 61. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the late Alonzo Joseph and Genevieve Marie (Arsenault) Gallant. He is survived by his wife Barbara E. (Simpson) Elderkin, two daughters; Sherry Gunderson (Gordon) and Dawn Steeves (Bill), three sons; Rocky (Trudy), Terry (Crystal), Todd (Debbie) and their mother, Nora Gallant, his daughter-in-law, Lynn, two step-daughters; Pamela Safruk (Todd) and Leslie Beierback, two step-sons; Dale Elderkin (Brenda) and Kevin Elderkin, two sisters; Loretta Osinchuk (Al) and Gloria Dunn (Ross), and his brother-in-law, Les Dunn, twenty grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and his cat Louie. Gerry was predeceased by his sister Gail Dunn, infant daughter Kimberley and grandson, Josh. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Gerry's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. Francis Xavier Church Hall on Friday, June 6, 2003 at 2:00 pm.
