HAUT-RIVIÈRE-DU-PORTAGE-Au Centre hospitalier régional de Bathurst, le lundi 2 juin 2003, à l’âge de 72 ans, est décédé Benoit Haché, domicilié à Haut-Rivière-du-Portage. Né le 4 juin 1930, il était fils de feu Albert Haché et de feu Geneviève Holmes. Il laisse dans le deuil quatre frères: Jean-Baptiste (Adélina), Adelbert (Nicole) et Edmond, tous de Haut-Rivière-du-Portage et Stanislas de Durham Bridge; sa nièce, Linda avec qui il demeurait; deux tantes: Odile Holmes et Amanda Beattie (sa marraine), toutes deux de Rivière-du-Portage, ainsi que plusieurs cousins, cousines, neveux et nièces. Deux frères: Gilbert et Arthur, l’ont précédé dans la tombe. La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h, le mardi 3 juin, à la Maison funéraire Robichaud, 3875, rue Principale à Tracadie-Sheila. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée-Conception de Rivière-du-Portage, le jeudi 5 juin, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Heures de visites: le mardi 3 juin, de 19h à 21h, le mercredi 4 juin, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le jeudi 5 juin, de 13h30 jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles. La direction des funérailles a été confiée aux soins professionnels de la Maison funéraire Robichaud de Tracadie-Sheila (395-2112, salonrob@nbnet.nb.ca).

(nee Page). We sadly announce the passing of our mother, on May 31 in her eighty-fifth year. Beloved wife of the late James M. Thomson, loving mother to David, Jimmy (Diane) and Alicia. She will be sadly missed by her sister Alicia Cowan, her grandchildren, Caroline, Jennifer, David, Sunshine and Shawn, and by her great grandchildren, cousins Neomi, Sonny, Maureen, by her niece Elizabeth and her nephew Ricky, and also by her many dear friends. A resident of Beaconsfield for over 50 years, she will be remembered for her kindness and devotion. Her passion for gardening and art will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Edmunds of Canterbury, 105 Beaconsfield Blvd. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital. The family would like to thank the staff at the Chateau Sur Le Lac and at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their warm care of our mother. May she rest in peace in the gardens of heaven with the angels above.

Born in Sudbury and married Antonio "Tony" Desbiens in 1963 in Warren. A longtime Hagar resident Anita will be remembered as an excellent cook who enjoyed family gatherings. Even during her lengthy illness she never complained but encouraged her loving family and friends with her many acts of kindness and her wonder "heart of gold". FRANÇOIS " Frank" LUCIEN BOIVIN 1915-2003 The Daily Press Tuesday, June 03, 2003-07:00 Obituaries-The family announces with great sorrow the peaceful passing of Frank Boivin at the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his wife Gilberte in 1999. Loving father of Jean-Guy of Timmins, Raymond of Sault Ste. Marie, Michel (Heather), René, Denis all of Timmins and Marc of Sault Ste. Marie. He is the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Ottawa. Born in Ottawa, he arrived in Timmins in 1938, served in the RCAF during World War II. He worked for many years as a painting contractor. Later, he became a draftsman in the Engineering Department for the City of Timmins until his retirement in 1980. In 1941, Frank was a founding member of the quartet called "Les Gais Lurons", won the first Porcupine Music Festival Rose Bowl in 1947 and was choir director at St. Anthony’s Cathedral for over 25 years. He will be sadly missed. Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 from St. Anthony’s Cathedral. Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. She was a devout Roman Catholic who presently belonged to Holy Redeemer Church having previously attended Lord of the World Church. She was a member of the CWL. She had worked at Woolco for 15 years retiring in 1984. Veronica was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Joseph "Moe" Gauthier predeceased 1999. She was a retired registered nurse graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She spent her life as a care giver providing the necessities of life and lightened the spirits of all who knew her. She was a member of the Sudbury Bridge Club and a former member of the Sudbury Curling Club. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. Il laisse ses 3 enfants; Richelle, André (Lucienne) et Sylvain; ses 2 petits-enfants; Patrick et Mélanie; 8 soeurs: Jacqueline (feu Hubert), Denise, Rosianne, Lise (feu Jean-Charles), Gisèle (Jean-Pierre), Rachel (feu Rémi), Hélène (Feu André) et Raymonde (Feu Charles) et 2 frères: Jacques (Aline) et François. Il fut prédécédé par 1 soeur, Pauline et 2 frères: Fernand et Maurice (Gisèle). Il laisse également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces ainsi que ses nombreux amis. Un merci spécial au personnel de l'Institut de cardiologie de l'Hôpital civic, ainsi qu'à toutes les infirmières. Un merci également au Dr Masters, au Dr Hill, ainsi que son médecin de famille, Dr André Gauthier pour les excellent soins prodigués à M. Léonard. Il n'y aura pas de visites au salon cependant la famille invite parents et amis à se joindre à elle, le jeudi 5 juin 2003 à 11h, en la cathédrale St-Jean-Marie-Vianney, Gatineau (angle Maloney et Notre-Dame), pour une messe en présence des cendres. Né à Saint-André de Restigouche le 14 janvier 1923 et arrivé à Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré dès son jeune âge, il fit profession religieuse à Sherbrooke le 15 août 1945 et ordonné prêtre à Ottawa le 1er juin 1951. Diverses fonctions ont bien rempli sa vie: professeur au Québec et aux Maritimes, vicaire dans différentes paroisses au Québec et en Ontario... Le tout bien encadré par divers séjours dans plusieurs hôpitaux de l’est du pays, et cela dès 1947. La souffrance l’a accompagné sa vie durant et sa dernière longue maladie l’a encore approché de son Dieu qu’il a rencontré sereinement, entouré de ses confrères. Emilie Stichling of Ottawa, age 86, passed away March 31, 2003 after an 18 year illness. Wife of the late William Stichling and beloved mother of Ella Palka and Loretta Daniel; grandmother to Alexandra and Gregory Daniel all of Denver, Colorado. Dr. Stichling was a long time faculty member of the Russian department at Carleton University. A Memorial Service and Interment will take place in Denver, Colorado.

DOLLARD JOSEPH (ED) MARTEL It is with deep sorrow that our family mourns the passing of Dollard (Ed) Martel, beloved husband and father. Ed passed suddenly after a short illness at the Grace General Hospital with his family at his side on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the age of 74 years. Ed leaves to cherish his memory his wife Eleanor of 54 years of marriage, his children, Susan Hurd (Gordon), Daniel and Timothy (Audra). Dad enjoyed being at home and taking car rides with mom and his two little dogs that he fondly called his "little buddies".
